After a binge, is 1250 calories good the next day?

Yesterday I ate 3100 calories from a binge. I need to practice planning my cheat days because I easily lose control but I was wondering if a low calorie day (today I had 1250), helps with the day after a binge. I usually eat 1200, by the way.

Thank you!

Wondering How To Lose Weight Quick?

Recommended Answer:
Well what I usually do is go straight back onto the amount i eat a day (1800 for me as a guy). Spreading it out seems to help loads too.
Be careful though if you're only eating 1200, your body may think it's starving and lower your metabolic rate massively so if you're trying to lose weight or become healthy i'd suggest at least a 200 calorie increase.
And try not to go for cheat days too often, remember it's all psychological and if you've lowered your calories for every day and then eat loads of excess calories on another, you've set yourself back 1, 2 or three days worth of hard training.
Good luck!

  • As long as the calories come from non gluten sources.
  • yes, your just bloating hun. u never gain weight that fast
  • The reason you probably binge is because your calorie intake is too low to start with. If you are trying to lose weight, stick to around 1500 calories.

Will I lose weight if I continue to eat like this?

Breakfast: 1 apple, 1 orange, and green tea

Lunch: 1 packet of Quaker Instant Oatmeal (apples and cinnamon) mixed in with a little bit of Old Fashioned plain Quaker Oatmeal and about a cup of unsweetened Blue Diamond Almond Milk

Snack: Smoothie: 2 bananas, mangoes, strawberries and about a cup of Almond Milk

Dinner: Rice with chicken, steak or fish and some cooked veggies

Snack: 15-28 almonds

Other: 8 cups of water
1-2 cups of coffee with a little bit of Almond milk and 2 packets of Stevia per cup

I'm 22 years old, weigh 93 pounds and I am 4'11. My goal is to tone up and get a flatter belly.

Why Losing Weight Fast is Bad!

Recommended Answer:
Whether or not you will lose weight eating like this, depends on how many calories you burn every day, so it's a question that's hard to answer.

The advice that I want to give you is to add much more vegetables, leafy greens, mushrooms, and beans to your diet. According to Dr. Furhman, these are the best foods for weight loss (he wrote many great books, including "Eat to Live"). Fruits are also beneficial, but you are already eating those. Limit whole grains to 1 cup per day.

An easy way to add lots of greens and vegetables to your diet (especially in their raw state, which is best for health and weight loss), I recommend that you start drinking green smoothies. For example, blend some spinach, celery stalks, with apple and a banana, and drink it as a snack. See http://greenreset.com/smoothie-recipes-for-weight-loss/ for some low calorie smoothies, and check out other recipes on that site, with delicious smoothies, soups, etc.

Questions on morning jogs, sprint training, SKINS, and diet?

I'm a 17 year old guy who has good genes (naturally very fast runner, has athletic body, etc), but plays no sports and never exercises. I've got bad insomnia, am always tired and really lazy so can never be bothered to run. But I'm going to try and develop a morning jog routine like this:

Monday - 7am jog.
Tuesday - rest.
Wednesday - 7am jog.
Thursday - 7am jog.
Friday - 7am jog.
Saturday - rest.
Sunday - 7am jog.

People say mornings jogs give you more energy for day and help you sleep, so that's main reason for me doing this. Also, I have asthma (can run fast, but not for long), so I need to get fit. The thing is, I love sprinting and I've learned about fast/slow twitch muscle fibers.. and I'm wondering, if I do slow/gentle jogs in the morning, will that cause me to run slower? I'm planning to do a light/gentle jog as a warm up, and do sprint training too. Would doing sprint training after every jog, 5 days a week be bad? How can I jog for fitness, and train to get faster/stronger in sprinting?

Moving on from that though. I tried on my older brothers skins and they felt amazing, and I want a pair. Is it okay if I wore them for all my morning jogs/sprints? They would keep me warm in morning and help with recovery, which is just what I need. How long do skins last (assuming I wore them 4-5 times a week)? Would they make me run faster in a sprint race? How many hours should you wear them after a jog for them to help with "recovery"?

Diet - should I have breakfast before or after morning jog/sprint? I want to wake at 6:45am, go for jog (plenty of water, no food), come home, shower, have breakfast and then go school. Good? Bad? Also, what kind of foods should I eat? Just focus protein to develop muscles? Does strength make me run faster, if so, should I do leg weights etc? Sprint with weights attached?

Sorry if this is really long and has too many questions. :( I just want to know all of this before I commit to a routine and spend money on skins (and possibly new running shoes too). Please help me out!

8 Top Tips to Help You Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
I don't know about skins.

Doing jogs may get you in the habit of running slower but will not make you unable to run faster- in fact, it may help your lung capacity grow so you can also run faster.
In general it is good to eat small amounts before, and in long runs during, a run. Ideally you should eat some protein and carbohydrate, no fat. Your muscles need the carbohydrate as you run. The amount of eating I'm talking about before a run is, say, a cup of milk or soymilk. Or one small baked potato. Not a full breakfast. Leg weights have to be done carefully to avoid injury- I'd skip them altogether while you are getting started, and don't spring with weights.

I would actually be most concerned about designing your running so that you don't get asthma attacks and give up because of that. I suggest you schedule an appointment with whoever treats your asthma, try your running schedule with both sprints and jogs for two weeks before the appointment, and then you can talk to the doctor about what you should and shouldn't do, with knowing how your asthma has responded to your running attempts for two weeks.

if i am 14 years old and i want to lose weight should i drink a protein shake when i go to the weight room?

Why Losing Weight Fast is Bad!

Recommended Answer:
If your trying to lose weight then you want to be dong cardio training like working on a treadmill rowing machine or spin bike. Protein is used for filling in the rips in the muscle from lifting weights this will put on weight but muscle not fat. if you are trying to lose fat do a cardiovascular workout and if your trying to gain muscle that's when you want protein. Don't overload on protein each scoop is equivalent to one chicken breast of protein and one scoop should be for one hour of muscular strength exersizes otherwise it will be stored as fat.

  • Just, exercise daily, and eat less carbs.
  • Protein shakes would make you heavier if anything

Weight loss that I'm confused about?

OK, so I started a new (very intense) exercise regimen just to mix things up as I just would like to lose 5 pounds. I've never been overweight so it's not about that. So, I started the routine this week (kettlebells) and am on the my rest days. I tend to eat very carefully but ate a bit crappy the last 2 days (not a whole pizza or anything just more than normal for me) and I LOST 2 pounds. I have ideas as to why but if somebody else has a good answer that's awesome. Thanks everybody!
Thanks first responder, I do all of those things already. I'm just interested in an answer to my question. But thank you.
Maybe I'm not clear: I do exercise regularly. I just added a new routine. I don't understand the 2 pound weight loss. Thanks again!

Lose Weight the Right Way and Keep it Off

Recommended Answer:
You probably found your caloric need. Did you maintain that weight loss? Were you eating more consistently throughout the day? Did you eat more protein?

Eating often keeps your metabolism cooking, and keeping a consistent protein intake throughout the day encourages muscle growth. If you've increased intensity, your protein and general caloric need will have increased. In order for your body to respond appropriately to the new demands, it needs to be fueled adequately. Eating several meals with protein in each meal (10+ grams?) will keep your muscles rebuilding and your metabolism fueled. Eating too few calories starves your body and makes it conservative in its caloric use.

That's my understanding. I'm not 100% on how it all works.

  • okay, to get into shape , speed up your metabolism, rid yourself of excess fat and lose weight ,,,,,do as follows:

Stop drinking & smoking (if you do this regularly)
eat fruits & vegetables all you can (buy a slow cooker /food steamer & rice/pasta cooker to make it easy on you)...(vegetables might not seem "tasty", like junk foods,, but can be as you aquire your taste to them..and are loaded with energy and nutrients)...avoid all junk food, cokes, sweets, etc...and drink mainly water (green tea , juice & milk being the other options you drink). If you eat meat ,,use only steamed, baking or grilled methods for preparing fish or chicken.

also, do an hour of walking each day at least. or some type of excercise.

    * you should lose about 10 lbs per month
  • You maybe just hit a plateau. I used a program that helped me get over mine. I know how frustrating it is to put in a lot of hard work and come out with very little results.

Cat is begging for food after I already fed it?

Cat keeps begging for food, even right after I fed her a full bowl. She is on a diet so she can only have one full bowl at night and half bowl in the morning.

She keeps begging, but she can't have it because she is a fatty and she needs to lose weight. Only problem is she is constantly meowing in the kitchen now for more food. How to get her to stop begging?

the cats nature is to exploit you food all the food it can, especially if more people live with the cat, because it can beg everyone for food. the cat isn't hungry, but just wants to eat. i have found the best thing to do is distract your cat with a play toy, cat nip, or a cat nip filled toy. cats love fresh catnip and it grows kinda like mint leave so it is not hard to grow, but it is hard to keep away from the cat once the cat realizes what this is. anyway just remember the cat is not hungry, just distract your cat from the food it does not need

  • I suggest that you have her checked for tape worms. They feel hungry all the time because the worm is essentially "steeling" their food.

    I got this from http://www.petwave.com/cats/health/digestive/tapeworm/overview.aspx

Cats and dogs may carry tapeworms without showing any symptoms. When symptoms do occur they may include weight loss, poor coat quality, increased appetite with little weight gain, upset stomach, periodic diarrhea, lethargy, and irritability. In rare cases, or extremely severe cases, tapeworms can cause symptoms which include seizures and severe weight loss.
  • she will get fat
  • Offer her some peas, beans or carrots. If she is truly hungry she will eat them. You can also try splitting her daily allowance into 3 meals- morning, evening & right before bed.

I'm not sure how much your bowl holds, but a total of 1/2 cup of dry food is plenty for most cats. Canned food will stick to her ribs longer because it is more protein than carbs (unlike dry). It's also healthier. About 1 1/4 can is plenty for the day. If you feed a combination, ration accordingly.
  • You could try putting her allowed ration of food in several small bowls dotted around your house which would make the meals last longer and also give her a bit of exercise while hunting for the food! As suggested by someone else, more playtime is a good idea, some cats are like people and eat when they are bored!

How to Get Motivated to Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
Losing weight is about 80% what you eat and 20% exercise, so focus on what you're eating. Change your lifestyle, don't go on a diet. Eat less junk/fast/fried foods and focus on eating a variety of foods including fruits and vegetables, but also lean proteins (chicken, turkey, fish, lean beef, plain greek yogurt), healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, nuts, hummus), brown rice, oatmeal, milk, low fat cheese, whole wheat bread, etc.

If you feel hungry, ask yourself, "Do I want some vegetables or just junk food?" If the answer is junk food, then you're not really hungry. Drink a big glass of water and wait 20 minutes. If you still feel hungry, but not for vegetables, then go do something else to keep yourself busy like text a friend or read a book.

If you change your lifestyle and get committed to eating healthier and working out, then you will never have to worry about losing weight for the rest of your life! Doesn't that sound great?! It does to me.

Exercise is important too, but you don't have to exercise to lose weight, but it makes you look better. Try walking, jogging, riding your bike or dancing around the house. Anything that gets your heart elevated for 30-45 minutes at a time, 3-4 times a week is great.

I would suggest joining a free website called SparkTeens.com. It's a place where people who want to get healthier can get some guidance and support, but it's geared towards teenagers. You can connect with other teens trying to get healthier and lose weight and see what's working for them. Good luck!

Can a thin girl lose 10 pounds?

I am naturally thin not like stick thin but thin curvy. I need to lose 10 pounds for personal reason to become skinny for a role I am in. I can gain the weight back if I want to but I don't want to. I don't want to hear "no don't lose it!" Because I will NOT listen I am just asking if I could lose 5-10 pounds in two weeks. I have a decent metabolism and don't eat an excess amount of calories I eat in the "matience" to "fat burning range" and am a healthy teen I don't have any problems with going to the bathroom or anything.

Anyways I plan on doing 45 minutes of cardio 5 days a week (I have a recumbuent bike) and I have an ab line and flat stomach so to tone my ab muscles more will do sit ups, push ups, the mountain climber, plank, the bicycle) and some squats and such to tone my butt, thighs and legs they aren't like fat or anything. Will I see weight loss? I'm doing it for a role in a play and want to do it the healthy way as appose to fasting or crash dieting.

I've noticed that my face is one of the first places I notice my weight loss. I would say between 5-10 pounds you will start noticing a difference!

  • ..eat less..
  • no
  • Yes you can, but you have to stick to this routine. Don't give up half way, because that will stop you from losing weight. Also a more efficient way to lose weight, is to cut down on the amount of carbs you eat. The only worry about exercising to lose weight, is it may just tone you instead, but thats probably not going to happen.
  • You need to watch what you eat aswell, your body naturally gets much hungrier when you start exercising, so if you don't watch it you might GAIN weight.

If you're pretty thin it might be hard to lose 10 pounds in two weeks, but 5 pounds is doable.

How long before I see improvement?

So I've been on birth control (FOR ACNE) and I've gained some weight, I have to be on it for 6-8 more months and I want to lose 10-15 pounds, here's my routine:
Monday and Wednesday - swimming for 1 hour
Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday & Saturday - walking for 1 hour and HIIT for 20-30 mins
Friday - rest
I eat pretty healthy with the exception of a little bit of sugar (like dark chocolate covered acai berries)
I'm 5'2, 115 pounds? (I'm not sure)

I just want to know when I'm going to see progress in losing weight and toning up, also is this an effective routine? Thanks so much!

What kind of diet am I following?

So, I recently started a diet suggested to me by my doctor, but she didn't really give me much detail about what the purpose is and how it works (scientifically speaking). My doctor was very ambiguous about it and assumed I just knew what I was supposed to do. What I would like to know is what I can eat, what I shouldn't eat, etc. Is this a gluten free diet? I'm limited by a budget, I am overweight and this is the first time I actually follow a strict diet. Any other suggestion are more than welcome as long as they're healthy and justified. Basically the diet consists of the following rules:
-Don't eat bread, pasta, rice or sugar
-Don't drink regular or diet soda.
-Don't eat fried foods
-Only eat fruits in the morning.
-Last meal should be no later than 6pm
-Drink ~half a gallon of water a day.

Quickest Way to Lose Weight - How Lose Weight Quickly

Recommanded Answer:
This is a simple, ordinary, healthy no-name diet. Seriously. It's how most people should eat depending on genetics and geographical location. An Eskimo couldn't be healthy eating the diet of someone who lives in a tropical area.

The only exception you might make to the general guide you were given is sprouted whole grains which digest differently than non sprouted and is ok for some who have minor gluten sensitivity. If you're supposed to be on a gluten free diet, you can check out recipes and suggestions at www.celiac.org For gluten free, try buckwheat! Awesomely yummy AND healthy! Especially buckwheat pancakes.

I would also suggest reading labels to avoid anything with the word "hydrogenated" since those are trans fats and are included an ingredient in all kinds of food products.

  • Water and bodybuilding go hand in hand. Drinking plenty of water is absolutely essential when following a bodybuilding method. This is because when exercising, they not only sweat a lot, but the muscles lose some of their water as well. You need to drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated. Since the body is about 80% water, it can become stressed quickly if the water level is not replenished. You can live without food, but you cannot live without water. In order for all the body processes to happen, water is the key ingredient for breaking down protein in to amino acids and enabling your body to make use of the nutrients from the food.

How to Burn Fat Without Losing Weight

Recommended Answer:
Protein shakes should only be taken in the morning and after your workout. Besides that two timing, it is practically useless. If you are looking to gain weight and build muscle, the idea is to eat a high calorie diet on top of your protein shake, sleep well and do the right workout to ensure that you get the steady gains you need.

I would suggest eating a high calorie diet instead of one filled with fat is because your body only requires a certain amount of fat which you can possibly get from the excess calories from your carbohydrate. I also do not suggest so much protein as a fuel source as it leaves behind nitrates which can be put your kidneys and liver under unnecessary stress. I would suggest eating things like potatoes, biscuits, pasta, noodles, rice and bread in order to get the high calorie diet from carbohydrates. If fixing 6 meals up can be a problem due to the lack of time or if you are looking for something more convenient, I would suggest looking to drink 500ml of milk in between your meal for a total of 3 times a day. Increase the amount of milk you drink by 100ml for each serving every week if you realize that you do not gain weight after a week of effort.

The next thing to get right is definitely sleep even before exercise. This is because even if you have the best workout and you get improper rest or insufficient amount of it, chances are this will cause you to lose weight and fall sick. One particular fact most people do not get right is definitely quality. Quality sleep means you need to sleep and wake up all by yourself. This can be difficult but I will still encourage you to do it on the weekend if possible and sleep the scheduled amount of hours on the weekdays when you are busy.

The workout is the main trigger to help you gain weight. This is done by using the workout at http://gohforth.com which I have seen many of my clients used and see effective results. The result of gaining 1 pound every week is quite possible as this workout will help you to trigger major muscles and help with progressive weight gain with little to no down time.

  • protein shakes are only good for quick emergency protein meal. Always get your protein from actual food. Unless you are busy and have no time than shakes are okay.
  • Don't listen to the posts saying protein from whole food is superior. Whey and Casein Protein are complete proteins with a Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score's of 1.00, the top of the scale.

Aim for 1lb of protein per pound of bodyweight. So if you weight 150lbs, then eat 150g protein per day.

Other great sources of protein include eggs and lean meats, but within an already micronutrient dense diet, protein shakes are optimal.

Foods to Lose Weight Healthily

Recommended Answer:
Dinner. A good plan would be:

Breakfast: low fat milk on cooked 9-grain cereal (from health food store), mixed with cooked oatmeal and wheat bran. Add some nuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine.

Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts and yogurt w/fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham or beef stew.

Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit: banana, orange, apple, kiwi, grapes, peach, nectarine, cherries, pineapple. No chips and nothing ever from a vending machine.

Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it.

Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.

Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes.

Foods to avoid: junk food, pastries, desserts, sugar, salty foods, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fatty/greasy foods (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza), pasta, potatoes, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream, fast food, soda, chips. And of course no tobacco or alcohol in any form. Both of those add wrinkles and destroy your brain. No oil except olive and mac nut. Coffee also rots your brain.

To keep your skin clear, drink water. Veg. juice is good too. But not canned juice (too much sugar.)

Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment. Also hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming, badminton, tennis...

If you lack energy to exercise, take stress B vitamins.
To lose weight, try an appetite suppressant.

  • Fruits and vegiies, or healthy shakes will help!
    Good luck! :)
  • My son drinks milk after he works out because it adds protein thus muscle instead of fat.
  • Definitely milk or chocolate milk! My cross country coach told me that milk is the best thing for your body after a workout... You should also try to eat a small bowl of fruit or veggies with light dip as well...
  • Something with fiber to fill up your still racing metabolism, nutrients, water because you lose alot of water when exercising, and protein to build muscle.

Try- Oatmeal with fruit, veggie burger, peanut butter, you get the idea!

    Hope I helped! :D

Top Five Tips to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Fat is added onto your body when you eat fat. Simple carbs can turn to fat only if you exceed your calories for the day. Complex carbs have fiber which carries out the fat.

You can gain a pound of fat by eating foods high in fat daily. The foods highest in fat are butter, cheese, oil, avocado, bacon, eggs, olives, beef, chips, soy, pork, chicken. Even the lean cuts have plenty of fat.

http://www.nutribuff.com/weight-loss/how-to-gain-a-pound-of-body-fat-in-one-month/

When you say high carb are you talking about donuts, pie, cake, cookies, crackers, because yes you can gain some fat with them, they have fat added. But, the good carbs have fiber which carries out the fat = grains, beans, vegetables, fruit. you need the good carbs, they are your body's natural and main fuel source.

You have to count calories if your diet is high in animal products, but if you only eat good carbs you don't have to count calories because they are super low in calories.

Your body converts good carbs to sugar to feed your brain and heart and muscles not to make you fat. You will always crave carbs of any kind if you try to eliminate them from your diet. Just eat the good carbs and you will lose weight and satisfy your hunger most effectively. Plus the good carbs help you to not crave sugar. High animal consumption causes sugar craving.

Tips on How to Lose Weight Fast for the New Year

Recommended Answer:
Ideally at 5"0/5"1 you should weight between 90-120 pounds. From the little that you shared it sounds like you have a large frame, which means a healthy weight for you would be 120 pounds. You have a lot of weight to lose and it is hard to say it all through yahoo answers. But one thing I will say is you need to start going to the gym and exercising - you will want to reduce your calories by 500 (whatever you are eating right now, take off 500 calories) and make sure you exercise 40 minutes a day- 6 times a week.

How many calories should a 13 year old girl eat?

I'm 13. I weigh 110 and am 5'6" I am a dancer and have class 4 1/2 hours a week and practice on my own everyday as well. I don't want to know so I can go on a diet. It's because I'm not eating enough calories a day.

I would say 1800-2200. you get so much exercise. you need to have enough calories to stay energized and alert. Be sure to get plenty of whole grains, vegetables and fruit in your diet and lean protein such as chicken, turkey and fish.

  • That is actually not a bad weight at all. Usually to stay on par, the average human needs to consume at least 2200 calories. You can go over, but make sure what you eat is healthy.
  • Round 1500
  • around 1800

Working out and Eating Healty but no weight loss?

So I've been working out 6 days a week for a couple months now. I lost 7 pounds in the beginning just working out and not changing up my diet too much and then I started to plateau at my weight loss so I changed my diet and started eating very healthy. Lots of fruit, veggies, protein, and not a lot of carbs (just the occasional brown rice or whole grain bread). I also switched up my work out routine to some interval training to see if that helped and nothing has changed in fact I've actually gained a pound. I'm 19 years old and weigh 132 lbs (fluctuates between 132-133) and am 5'8". my goal weight is 125. I started out at 138 but have gained back a few which is super frustrating, especially since for a couple weeks I've been counting calories like crazy, I eat between 1,000-1,200 calories a day and with exercise I burn at least 400 calories six days a week. I'm not sure what to do, it could be that I'm eating too few calories but I'm nervous to eat more because I don't want to gain more weight. I drink plenty of water about 3 liters a day

I know some of you will say my weight is fine and not to worry about it but I need to get my weight down for my job and its important that I do because my job is what is paying for my college education.

If anyone has any suggestions or tips it would be greatly appreciated because I'm started to get very frustrated

You're not eating enough calories which is causing your metabolism to slow down.

You also need more carbs. Fiber is important to weight loss and carbs give you the energy to workout.

Also you could be in ketosis which is what happens when you don't eat enough carbs. Its very dangerous and actually hurts your ability to lose weight.

1) Take a free day and pig out to let your body know you're not starving.

2) Then restart eating more calories. Around your BMR for a few days. I usually eat around 50/40/10 (carbs/protein/fat). And try to get more than your RDA for fiber.

3) After that, cycle your calories to confuse your body. Like 1400 one day, 2000 the next.

4) And focus on your metabolism. Add some muscle mass and check your thyroid to see if its functioning properly. Here's a home test:

You can also find things online about how to improve your metabolism. Google them.

How long before I lose 15 lbs?

I am 5 foot 3. 20 years old. 120 lbs and want to weight 105. I only exercise a couple days a week for an hour. (Bad, I know) but I have been eating an even 1000 calories per day. Approx. what day will I weigh 105(math is not my thing) if I eat exactly 1000 calories a day until I am that weight?

There is no way to really calculate this exactly because we can't determine your exact metabolic energy needs daily based off your info but can guess. But a pound of fat is 3500 calories if you are running a calorie deficit of say 750 calories per day it would take 4.6 days to lose a pound of fat.

But for your age, height and weight you seem to be perfectly fine the weight that you are at and look fine based on your photo. I would recommend that you don't base your 'weight loss goals on weight' you could be gaining muscle while losing fat and end up actually weighing more than you do now but looking better. This is why working out and weight loss is tricking especially for women, as you don't see immediate results so you get discouraged. But keep in mind sometimes losing weight can be detrimental to your overall health if your already a healthy weight and try to push it lower.

Quit smoking for a whole month, now NEED to loose weight?

I am about 10kg overweight, but I have quit smoking for over a month now :) Still I'm taking the nicabate mint lozenges.

I need to loose weight now, and I want to do an exercise that doesn't need concentration as I like to listen to music while exercising and dream about rather than running in the outside etc to watch out for cars.

I haven't been eating healthier lately, but doing that too and not eating after 5pm also (but a healthy breakfast and lunch with fruit and veggies inbetween).

Can someone help me with this? Also something that I can do at home would be great as I don't want to join a gym.

WOOHOOO!!!! I QUIT A MONTH AGO TO ! EVEN IF I DONT KNOW YOU CONGRATULATIONS ! i know after you smoke you replace it with eating for every cigarette and doesn't it suck?! now i replace every stress and cig craving with a workout. Joining the gym is POINTLESS ! trust me until your at the weight your satisfied in then dont go. Once you are go to get toned and you say now you dont want a workout that takes alot of concentration but little do you know once you've worked out for a 1 week or 2 you'll wanna push yourself to something different and more that does take concentration like swimming in an indoors pool running WITH HEADPHONES and watching for cars. Plus you need to put the work to look good ;) trust me ! I was sooo over weight and now I push people to workout with me I feel so good now. My opinion though go on youtube.com and search insanity workout day 1 and do all of those its just running but im letting you know now it is going to kick your butt not really concentration just letting you know as the workout routine ends you have to go faster and faster until its time to stop and take a rest good luck god bless and do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The best strategy is a combination of calorie reduction and exercise; fairly simple.
The best form of exercise for the purpose of loosing weight is aerobic or "cardio" work; exercise that gets your heart rate elevated into the working zone and maintains it there for the desired period.
    There are lots of choices...
If you don't want to dodge cars outside... Then consider a stationary bike or treadmill. Efficient if boring. You can "dial in" the amount of effort and if you stick with it they can be quite effective.

Also, various forms of "aerobic" exercise... The currently-popular "Zumba" thing is just yet another form of the "heavyhands" exercise program developed by Dr. Schwartz many years ago.
Aerobic exercise with light hand-weights... Done to music.
Richard Simmons isn't bad... I've watched some of his programs and there is nothing there that will hurt you... He may be a little over the top but his exercise physiology is sound.

Eating a high calorie diet must firstly be clarified as eating highly complex carbohydrates from natural food rather than junk food. On top of that, you need to do the right workout to gain essential muscle mass and sleep well. You can be assured that you will not become less feminine because of the workout itself as ladies tend to have little testosterone in their system and this means a lesser probability to gain huge muscles.

Diet is not simply going after all the junk food your eyes can lay eyes on. You need to be specific on what you need to eat or else you will simply end up falling sick and losing even more weight. If it is possible, I encourage you to eat 6 full meals prepared with a focus on complex carbohydrates like pasta, noodles, bread, biscuit and rice. If that is difficult like it was for me, just focus on 3 meals where you have more of those complex carbohydrates I mentioned and drink milk 3 times a day. You should start off by drinking around 500ml of milk and gradually increase it by 100ml every week until you achieve 1 pound of weight gain on the weighing scale. Gaining the first 2pounds will be the starting point for you to start finding a workout to help you gain weight gradually and also to look into getting the best possible type of sleep you can.

Sleep has been marked as a mystery even to scientists, yet so essential that we will simply die without it. The idea is to sleep and wake up by yourself biologically. That will give you the best type of rest nature can provide and allows you to stay healthy and repair the muscles you tear in the gym so that you can gain weight.

Lastly, finding the right workout in this world which focus so much on weight loss is difficult, especially if the closest thing to this are supplement pumping, ape looking bodybuilders. You simply have to focus on getting the growth you need without all that amount of harmful chemicals produced in the lab. One pure workout I found online is called the real natural guide to gain weight at http://gohforth.com. You might want to check it out.

  • I have no trouble at all gaining weight lol.
  • I useally eat at least 2 servings but I makesure I like it but before you know it pounds will start coming on your next question will be how do I lose weight
  • There are plenty of vitamin supplements that will help you gain weight, you could try going to your local vitamin store and asking about a product like that.
Protein shakes are high in calories and good for you, so they can help you put on some lean fat. Also, increase your protein intake with things like red meats and poultry along with a decent amount of carbohydrates (wheat bread, etc). Don't neglect your fruits and vegetables though, because they are still very important in your diet. Just increase the calorie intake with those foods along with increasing portion sizes during your main meals, and you'll be gaining weight in no time! Hope this helps!

Six Simple Ways For You To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Your not overweight, you are at a good weight. Some people at 13 are 95 pounds and it's very bad because they are under weight. You still need 40-60 minutes of activity though so you can...

go for walk (Outside or treadmill)
Go swimming
Kick around a soccer ball or play soccer.

for everyday:
1. take deep breaths
2. start by 10-20 minutes of walking/jogging (outside or on treadmill or in one spot)
3. 10 crunches or sit ups
4. lunges
5. 20 push-ups (Don't force yourself to do lots. build your way up)

You can plan your own routine, do the routines about 5 days a week.

Avoid eating chips, pop (soda), ect. You can have them once and a while but not every day. Make sure your having a healthy breakfast. Get lot's of sleep, it's good to have 8-10 hours of sleep. Have nice long baths in the mornings on weekends, it will help you wake up and get your day going.

  • Do not drink soda.
  • Please don't try to lose weight! At your age, you are still developing muscle mass and you need to eat properly, and play hard to develop those new muscle cells. If you play some baseball or hockey and get lots of exercise, you will have an appetite in keeping with your body requirements. Just be a kid, and don't worry about weight yet! Please!
  • You are not overweight, but if you want to drop a few pounds try to cut out junk food like chips, cookies, etc. Try to eat some protein at each meal like peanut butter, meat, cheese, beans, etc. Apples are a good fruit which fills you up.
  • being that weight at your age is totally fine. your body is still growing so you will go through phases will you will weigh more at certain amount of times. if you eat a lot of candy and that stuff then stop eating that. if you eat alot of fast food, ice cream, sugary stuff that will make you gain weight. just do jumping jacks, and push ups. you don't want to push yourself too much because you're not even overweight as it is. good luck :-)

Why am I not gaining weight?

I've been working out and eating 2500-3000 calories a day for about two to three weeks now and have seen absolutely no increase in weight. In fact, I was waking up to about 129 pounds a week ago, and now I am only waking up to 127. This is very depressing, because I am actually putting effort into this and seeing absoluteness no progress. I would think I'd gain at least a pound by now.

I would really like to gain about 10 pounds before college starts up in the fall, so any help would be great.
I have not been having any protein shakes lately, although I have the stuff for them. Basically at the gym I try to work out "moderately". I don't do any cardio, and I don't try to stay longer than 30-40 minutes to burn the least amount of calories possible. During that time though, I try to get a good work out.

Fastest Way to Lose Weight

It seems one of the 3 things is not in order. Either you are not sleeping well and long enough, not eating enough calories everyday or you are not doing the right workout. In order to gain 1 pound of weight each week, you will need to master all 3 of it and do it diligently everyday. The starting part can be tedious and mentally draining so here are some of my personal experiences that has worked for me.

Let us start by talking about what constitutes a high calorie diet. The main thing involved is to eat a lot of carbohydrates rather than increasing your fat and protein intake during your 3 meals. Increasing your carbohydrate intake will enable your body to use the energy more efficiently rather than rely on breaking down muscles and burning fat to get you the energy you need. You will get your protein and your fat from my next diet tip which is to drink 500ml of milk in between your meals. Start with 500ml first and increase it every week until you have gained a pound or two of fat. Once you are there, you can start maintaining the amount of milk you drink and focus on the other two things which is sleep and workout.

Next, we will touch on the easiest thing to do of all in my opinion and that is to sleep. People who struggle to get enough sleep daily will find that they will not gain muscle mass and contrary, will lose weight. If you are looking to gain weight I highly suggest you to do this experiment first to know just how much sleep you need. Start by going to sleep by yourself without the influence of alcohol, sleeping pills or what nots to make you sleepy. Sleep through the night and wake up by yourself in the morning. If you can achieve this without any distractions or any drugs or alcohol, you just have to keep repeating the same amount of hours everyday. Simple.

Lastly, so many people find it hard to gain muscle mass and weight just because they do the wrong workout or jump from one workout to another before exhaustively utilize what is planned out. If you are starting out to gain weight or muscle mass I strongly encourage you to download the program off http://gohforth.com. That program has not only worked for me for years, but is also something I teach my paid clients.

  • Because its only been 3 weeks. Keep trying!
  • because its still very early.. 3 weeks is nothing at all
dont worry.. u will get there soon
    keep working harder an harder
    try whey protien an glutamine
  • How much are you exercising and what types of food are you eating? Since you weigh about 130 pounds, you burn about 1300 calories by simply being alive and breathing - this does not include exercise. If you work out vigorously, you could easily be burning another thousand or so calories, meaning that you're only adding about 300 calories to your daily diet. A pound is roughly 3500 calories - if you're only having a net gain of 300 calories a day, it'd take you over a week to even get close to gaining a single pound.

Aim to eat 3000 calories a day - you should be eating every three hours in order to keep a constant supply of food going. Focus on foods rich in protein, such as eggs, dried fruits, nuts, greek yogurt, etc. Eat plenty of pasta and whole grain bread for carbs for exercising and continue snacking ALL THE TIME. Make sure you drink at least one protein shake a day. Good luck!

How can I convince my 400 pound girlfriend to lose some weight?

I love her so much!!! but am starting think that she's too big for me :( She's 5'5 400 pounds, 20 years old. How can I tell her nicely to lose weight? I want her to lose atleast 250 pounds. What happend if she doesn't want to? Should I brake up with her?

Lose Weight, No Sweat!

Recommended Answer:
really? if he loved her he would accept that? if she love HIM, she would try and look half way decent for him. tell her she needs to lose weight or your leaving. you can do better than that.

  • Wow. Her weight should have nothing to do with you. If you truly loved her you wouldn't care what size she was.
  • If you care that much about her appearance then you should dump her....
  • Bring it up with her. I am betting she has already thought about losing weight. Work out with her. Give her all the support you can. Make it fun!!
  • Oh damn dude okay just well there is no nice way to put it just kinda talk with her and if she doesn't wanna lose the pounds well then keep talking about it either she will give in or leave you that sounds kinda mean but that's the best I can say man hope it helps
  • If you really love her you should be concerned about her weight and general health. Get a whip and chase her up and down the street. At the very least you will have a bit of fun.
  • There is no nice way to tell her you think she's too big for you. You need to focus on telling her that you're concerned about her health because of her size. Encourage her to eat better and get checked by a doctor to make sure she's healthy enough to exercise. It would be very uplifting for her if you got on the eating-right and exercise band-wagon with her.

If she doesn't want to lose weight, that's her decision. Unfortunately, you don't get to dictate what size she is. If that's a deal-breaker for you then break up with her. But don't hold her to an ultimatum to bully her into losing weight (ie: Don't say "I'm going to break up with you if you don't lose 250 lbs).
  • Tell her you are concern about her health and wants her to be a healthier beautiful woman.

Losing weight is not an easy task. It takes a lot of determination and will to reduce eating a lot of unhealthy food. I watch on a TV program, it takes a full year of workout and healthy food to lose 100 pounds and be on shape. So what you are asking maybe difficult for her.
  • Show her this, it may convince her. It's not likely she'll succeed any other way.
    http://www.webmd.com/diet/weight-loss-surgery/gastric-bypass
Also, she's not likely to live long if she doesn't. This man suffocated to death at 38 eight because of his weight:

And keep in mind, even though severely obese people sometime do succeed in losing enormous amounts of weight through dieting, they always put the weight back on, always. It can be fixed now with gastric bypass surgery, it's a miraculous permanent solution. Look again at Iz, think what a tragedy it is to loose a Beautiful person to this disease. I think she is a beautiful person to you, so talk to her about it.

And here's a beautiful lady that died young from the same thing, this can now be fixed!

  • Dude, she's got the figure of a bean bag couch. Yuck.
  • physical appearance should not be the reason you love her. if you would break up with her because you don't like the way she looks then you need to reevaluate your relationship. I understand if you want her to lose weight for her HEALTH but it should never be because you want her to look a certain way/.
  • I would use shame. Call her chunk. Make her cry. She'll come around.

How to gain weight and how to keep it on and stay toned with it.?

4 Simple Tips On How To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
In order to gain toned weight, you will have to consider doing the right workout, sleeping well everyday as well as eating a high enough calorie diet to give you the energy you want. Here is how I personally teach to my female clients at the gym.

The key thing about diet is to eat more calories. This does not mean you feed yourself huge meals 3 times a day. This will lead to indigestion, gastric pains and other digestive complications because there is only so much your body can digest at one time. The idea is to eat more meals a day, preferably 6. This can be difficult if you are on the move all day like I'm so I suggest just stick to your 3 meals like you do but bring a long a liter of milk with you before you leave the house. Drink 500ml of milk in between each of your meal and finish the last dose 2 hours after dinner. This will provide the extra calories you need to gain weight. If after a week your weight is still not going up, simply increase the amount of milk you drink by 100ml and stick to your normal portions for your normal meals. Keep doing this until you gain the weight you need to. You should be putting on roughly a pound a week in my opinion. Once you gotten 2-3 pounds, it is time to focus on getting the right workout to help you build muscles and ensure that your body gain weight more steadily.

The best workout to do in order to grow muscle mass in terms of size is to do a high weight low repetition workout called hypertrophy. This will adjust your muscles to use the food you eat as the main source of energy rather than oxygen like smaller muscles do. If you are starting out to gain muscle mass, perhaps you should download the program at http://gohforth.com. This program has been extremely effective for me personally and also benefited my clients very well.

One thing that many people miss out is the fact that sleep is extremely important to help you gain weight and maintain a strong immune system. This is because when you stay up late, have interrupted sleep cycle or not enough hours of rest, you will burn more calories throughout the day and this means that you have to eat more or risk loosing weight. This is made worse if your metabolism is like mine in the past and this will probably mean you will lose up to 3-4 pounds in a week due to poor quality sleep. The road is long and tough, but as long as your stick by the 3 things which is a high calorie diet, sleep well and do the right workout regime, you will see roughly a 1 pound of muscle weight gain a week. I hoped I have helped you.

Losing belly weight and getting into shape?

So, for sometime now, I've been trying to lose my "beer" gut and get into shape. I played soccer up until three years ago and since then, it's been more of drinking and eating out. I find it hard sometimes to resist because I do work at a restaurant and I go out with friends a lot. My question: What do I need to be eating, and drinking to make changes and what other changes/actions should I be doing to see results and feel more better?

When I was 250 I hated working out and eating right obviously. I didn't like the gym or working out so I did something that was fun I started skating 2-3 days a week and just adding more activity like taking the stairs and riding my bike. I stopped eating junk candy chips cake cookies pizza etc and stopped eating after 7. I also started fasting every other day and, I lost 115lbs in about 6 or 7 months. I eat 100 calories snacks on Sunday and is a treat. I still skate 2 or 3 days a week and is fun losing the weight made bike riding way easier so therefore more fun. I also eat healthy everyday not fasting but three days a month. Healthy versions of junk isn't so bad.

  • I know what I'm talking about and losing that much weight will take a combination of diet and exercise.

  • Just remember, no exercise can substitute a good diet!!!! doesn't matter what you do in the gym if you aren't working hard in the kitchen too.

Choose The Best Way To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Absolutely,

To lose weight you need to do AEROBIC (cardio) exercises on nearly a daily basis. This will initiate oxidative phosphorylation (fat burn) within the cells. Get your heart rate around 100-140 bpm for 1-2 hrs. *walking/anaerobic doesn’t do much weight wise.
You also need to reduce intake of sugars, bad carbs and saturated fats. Drink water. Eat healthy. Eating way too little can cause weight retention. You CANNOT lose weight in one specific part of your body, but rather evenly across the body. Counting calories? Just keep ‘em moderate and do the aforementioned.
Some examples of aerobic exercises are running, zumba, dance, hard swimming, p90x, insanity, sports et cetera. Get your heart a pumpin’.
It will take dedication but the payoff is well worth it. Easy things are not worthwhile.
Take care!

It depends, that's how long it would take you to lose 4 pants sizes.

Can't reach my goal weight, advice?

I am 5'5 -5'6 and I weigh 124. (Amazingly) I've already lost 35 lbs over 9-10 months.

But I am stuck now. My goal is 120. And all I want is to say I reached my goal. I've accomplished my goal. I just can't settle at the 124 mark.

I've tried so many different exercises daily. But I am at a brick wall.
Any advice to beat this plateau?
Thanks!

How Thai Food Can Help You Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
I got stuck at around 120 lbs in my last plateau (I'm a bit shorter than you). So I tried calorie cycling. After a prolonged time at eating a low calorie intake your BMR lowers and your metabolism slows to that amount. So the theory behind calorie cycling is that it wakes up your metabolism and confuses it.
I tried it and actually raised my calories back up (I had dropped from 1400 to 1200 cals for 6 wks and then got stuck) to an avg of 1400 cals and calorie cycled around that number. It's been 2 weeks now and I lost another 5 lbs!

I was a bit skeptical about it at first but have heard so many people including bodybuilders and fitness models raving about it so I thought I'd give it a go and it worked! You can use this calculator to figure out a plan. You have to calculate your daily calorie intake and then it will give you the option of choosing a calorie cycling plan (zig zag diet plan): http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

Help me improve on my diet plan to get toned/ripped?

I am 6ft4, 13 stone and 15% body fat. I would like to get down to 8-10% body fat, but i need a good diet plan.
I have a bit muscle, and i don't want to lose it. If someone could link me, or copy their own diet plan then it would be much appreciated.

My current diet plan looks like this:

Breakfast - Porridge
Snack - Protein Bar
Lunch - Tuna or chicken salad
Before gym - Banana & half a protein bar
After gym - Protein shake, and the other half of protein bar
Dinner - Chicken, brown rice and salad/veg
Evening - Glass of milk

Protein bars contain (21g protein, 38.2g carbs, 8.2g fat, 2.9g sat fats)

Should i make any adjustments to mine that could help me lose weight, and also build good muscle structure.

I basically want a body similar to this http://munfitnessblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/ryan-reynolds-after-blade-trinity-and-amityville-horror.jpg

Choose The Best Way To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Personally what I would do is this:

Breakfast - Porridge (But use low-fat milk / skimmed milk)
Snack - Apple
Lunch - Tuna or chicken salad (stay away from mayonnaise, salad cream or any other fatty sauce)
Before gym - Banana & half a protein bar
After gym - Half a protein bar / or another apple
Dinner - Chicken, brown rice ad salad/veg
Evening - another fruit

Why so many fruits? Fruit has been proven to contain all the necessary components your body needs to losing weight and building muscle. Believe it or not, it has protein in it!

Cut out as much dairy foods as possible as they normally contain high levels of fat, also drink A LOT of water. Water helps promote weight loss and it helps process any nutrients/vitamins you consume around your body.

Hope this helps!

I'm wondering, because I'm noticing my larger female counterparts are losing weight quicker. I'm 140 pounds, and need to lose about 10 of that. Here's what I'm thinking:

Larger women were probably eating 3000+ calories a day, due to their food habits. Now that they are put on the 1400 calorie diet, and working out, they are reducing calorie intake, and burning the rest by working out, therefore, results. Because I am 140 pounds anyway, and put on this "diet" that is really my NORMAL intake (140X10 cals a pound=1400), and I am only burning 400 calories a day, THAT is why I'm not even losing a pound week, like the plan claims. 400X7 days a week=2800 calories burned, and there are 3500 cals in a pound. therefore, ALMOST a pound burned. I'm really burning about .75 pounds, as opposed the the 1.0 I'm supposed to.

Any one else see this flaw? I get weighed once a week, and get let down everytime because not even a pound has been burned. I think I need to be on a 1200 cal diet.

BTW, I work out 5 times a week and do an ADDITIONAL 4 Zumba classes....

Thoughts? I'd love your feedback.

Are you following the Curves Complete plan or watching others who are following it? I'm a little uncertain due to the wording of your title. If you aren't following it and asking if it would work for you, then the answer is YES! If you are following it and you're asking for advice on how to get better results, here are some things to think about:

The meal plan needs to be followed closely. It's not only about how much you eat (straight calories in) vs WHAT you eat and when! It's important to eat the snacks to keep your metabolism going throughout the day. It's important to make sure you choose good substitutions if things aren't specifically listed in your plan. You want a good balance of carbs, fats, protein, etc. As a general guideline no female is recommended to go below 1200 calories a day.

Your workouts need to be evaluated. Are you really pushing yourself every time? I'm not sure if they have Curves Smart at your particular club but that is a good way to measure your workout intensity! Use your tag if they do! Otherwise is your heart rate up like it should be every time you reach the stepper machine? Are you breaking a sweat? If not you know you need to push harder. If you ARE working out very hard, it's possible you could be training a little aggressively and might need to eat a little MORE! Our bodies are funny about this (especially when we're trying to trim the last few pounds!) and will go into defense mode to store the fat that we have if we aren't fueling them enough. Workouts should not only be about burning calories to create a deficit but also for maintaining and increasing muscles. If you are a heavy trainer you actually need to eat BACK some of the calories you burn! You might want to pick a few days a week and actually add in a small meal (maybe 300 cals - make sure it's something healthy) and see if that will rev up your metabolism some.

You say that you haven't been seeing results on the scale, but have they been measuring you? Are your inches changing at all? Check the inches and body fat %. Sometimes we get an unrealistic goal of a "weight" we want when really we should focus on the size and shape of our body!

As far as weight loss goes, we tell people you can lose 1-2 pounds a week because that's the most you should aim to lose to get pure fat loss. Especially as a slightly overweight person - larger people can get bigger numbers at first because of exactly the things you said! Generally speaking, an aggressive approach is to lose 1% of your overall body weight per week. Your max per week should be around 1.4 pounds so if you were to lose .75 in a week that would actually be pretty reasonable.

Sorry if this is a little long or random, there are so many factors to this and I'm trying to touch a little on everything. If you ARE following the Curves Complete plan this is something you should discuss with your coach! She should be able to help you get through this plateau. If you aren't on the program then it might be just what you need.

  • building muscle is better for you in the long run..
  • Lock yourself to a threadmill so you can never escape. put it on maximum speed. place super slippery walls, so you can never ever stop running. If you get tired, and stop running, you are forced to run, because of your legs getting scraped off its skin by the threadmill if you stop running. Have a friend feed you four times a day, do this for a week, and i promisse you, you will get all better, though some pretty nasty feet, which will heal pretty quickly.
  • OK...... first download an app on whichever phone u using which records your running time, distance, etc and you have to give yourself a target maybe 1km a day or any u like and jogging is the best way of losing fats im also fat but after jogs for few month i slim down and don't eat too much fatty stuff especially kfc and etc.....
  • You should go and see your doctor and tell them, just remember losing weight isn't a quick fix but it seems you already know that :)
Ask your doctor about seeing a dietitian to set you up a good meal plan for you to lose weight, and try to get in 30-60 mins of cardio at least, like a jog and walk or something. As you're still pretty young you probably shouldn't go too hard with the exercise but if you get a good meal plan to follow it will work wonders in helping you lose weight ^-^

How to lose 3 kg in a month for 4 months?

Hey I really need help so if you could tell me what to do I would really appreciate it......but no time for walking (i'm 13)

Fastest Way to Lose Weight

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Six Simple Ways For You To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Sorry for the generally late reply :). Okay to start off, you want to drink as much water as you can. Try for 80oz, it sound like a ton but just 1 bottle before school, 1 during, 1 at lunch,1 after school, and 1 with dinner. at first it'll feel like alot but you'll get used to it. Fat holds water, so if you dont have enough it holds on to it. If you want to loose weight by summer, you need to be determined because excercising can be annoying. Running (I was an awful runner) is amazing. If you can find a running class or a running buddy or maybe just running by yourself, you'll find yourslef loosing a lot of weight. (i know from experience) start by running 1 minute and walking 2 minutes and repeat this 7 times, 2-3 times a week. next go to run 1 walk 1, then run 2 walk 1, then run 3 walk 1, etc. If you dotn want to run look at this video (it'll help you get a flatter stomach) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMKsdwh4pws now on to eating, try to avoid junk food anything like cake and cheetos. dont eat anything but milk or water at least two hours before bed. anything you eat turns to fat. I hope i helped!!

Lose Weight, No Sweat!

Recommended Answer:
This is a difficult question to answer, only because what is "healthy" often is dictated by needs. For someone trying to get in shape versus someone who is diabetic. If you're looking for just good general health, it would seem to me this diet lacks vitamin c (which the pumpkin has very little of) and vitamin d. If you're not body building, I wouldn't recommend a daily intake of red meat.

Which nuts? Different nuts have different nutritional value.
http://www.health-alternatives.com/nut-seed-nutrition-chart.html

In any case, 1 cup of nuts is certainly a decent amount of fats. Could be improved by exchanging the meat for chicken and fish. Adding in vegetables and a small serving of fruit, such as apple, banana or orange would improve the diet. A daily cup of milk or soy milk for vitamin d. A cup of OJ or apple juice for Vitamin C.

That sounds like an insane amount of water. Recommended is 8 cups. There is such a thing as too much water. Whoever is drinking that much must be running to the toilet constantly.

  • Breakfast: Replace the bread with a bowl of oatmeal (not the instant sugar kind) add your own fresh fruit, seeds, nuts or nut butter, yogurt, egg whites, spices.

Lunch: Add some protein and only use 1 slice of a really grainy bread or whole grain tortilla.

Dinner: Replace the steak with grilled chicken, fish/seafood or turkey (even pork once in awhile, tenderloins are the best and lowest in saturated fat). Some legumes, whole grain pasta (like quinoa) or brown/wild rice and veggies.

Snack. Is fine. Maybe add some Greek yogurt with your fruit for some added protein and cut back on the fruit. 1/4 cup. Cut back on the nuts too. You don't need a cup of nut, they may have healthy fat but it appears you're already getting too much fat in your diet.

Edit: I read this was for a project after I wrote it out. So I was referring to "you" the entire time. ;)
  • As I always a balance diet is important.
Right amount of calories and vegetables, proteins.
It is important to note certain vegetables that will help you burn fat.

After i have done, say, a 2 hour work out, is the fat loss immediate, or does it take some time?

How Thai Food Can Help You Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
It takes as long to take it off as it took to put It on. It can take a week to notice a pound. A pound is 3500 calories, the average person needs 2000-2500 to maintain they're current weight. Do what you did everyday for a week and eat healthy then you'll lose weight

  • Of course it takes time
  • Takes time duh. You didn't put on you're extra money over night so you won't lose it overnight either.
  • It takes some time of course! But, the fat should be burnt off if you stay away from too much fattening food. Expect too lose weight if you stay on a routine for a week or two depending on your weight. Usually the heavier you are the more weight you'll lose until your lighter. Remember to not give up if you're trying to lose weight. Oh, yeah, don't over exercise yourself because that will make healthy weight loss take a longer time to work.

4 Simple Tips On How To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
I know how hard it can be personally because I started out way skinnier than you and had a smaller appetite compared to you. If there is one thing I learnt from my past experience of trying to gain weight, it is to eat a high calorie diet spread throughout the day, do the right workout and sleep well everyday.

  • Eat more meals throughtout the day not just 3 big ones
  • You have a fast metabolism so there's really not much you can do ...
  • Well eat food with a lot of fat in it if you want to put on weight quickly, e.g pizza, burgers, fries but also eats a lot of fruit and veggies as well so your diet isn't too unhealthy.

Have large meals a day, so a large breakfast lunch and dinner. But if you can't manage to eat to much, have a lot small meal throughout the day.

Don't rush yourself while you eat and if you feel sick have some water nearby but don't stop eating altogether.

I hope you get better :)
  • If you go to the food supplement section at the grocery store they have supplements you can take for weight gain. Make sure that you talk to your doctor before taking any supplements.

how long will it take to lose 30 pounds?

so, a little about me: 20 years old, female, 5'2'', 145 pounds, 27% body fat, doctor says my ideal weight is between 115 and 120 pounds, so I'm looking to lose around 30 pounds, preferably as soon as possible. here's my basic diet/exercise plan:

*1,200 calories per day, vegan diet
*1 T apple cider vinegar before each meal
*protein shake/smoothie for breakfast and dinner (one made with spinach, berries, banana, almond milk, and vegetable-based protein powder, the other made with berries, soy milk, flax seeds, and soy protein powder)
*salad with lots of veggies, some beans, and olive oil and vinegar for lunch
*2 snacks a day: apple + almond butter, veggies and hummus
*2 C green tea per day
*supplements including raspberry ketones, white kidney bean extract, Tonalin CLA, and a multivitamin

exercise:
*1.5 hours of cardio 5-6x a week (treadmill, elliptical, bike, Zumba, etc)
*30 minutes weight training 6x a week (3 days upper body, 3 days lower body, 1 day rest)
*1 hour yoga dvd on my rest day

so...how long will it take to lose around 30 pounds? also, about how many dress sizes would I lose?

thanks!

Top Five Tips to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Probably 2 months. You would loose more inches than pounds

  • I'm not a girl so this may/may not help but I'll say it because I think it's for everyone.
An average person needs 2000 calories to maintain their body weigh.
    1 pound of fat = 3500 calories
Drop the protein shake from your diet, you're not trying to build muscle (muscle weighs more than fat by the way)
Fruits may seem good but they do have a lot of sugar so be careful with them.
Tea is very good but be careful with the sugar you add and use non-fat milk. I don't remember the details but 2% milk isn't really 2% fat, it actually has 50% fat or something like that so just use complete non-fat.
Don't do heavy weight training, you need more cardio and use light dumbbells while doing it.
Not too sure about almond milk, I think almonds generally have lots of fat but maybe the milk is different, check up on that.

So yeah, that's pretty much everything I got from your list. Using the information, you can probably calculate how much you'll lose a week (it looks to me you'll lose about 2 pounds a week). This is all from my years of planning my workouts but never actually doing them (I am such a procrastinator ...)
  • Lose the unapproved supplements. I know your doctor didn't recommend the cider vinegar, protein shakes, ketones, bean extract, or CLA.
80% of weight loss is diet.
You can eat a healthy diet and lose weight.
You can eat a healthy diet and exercise and lose more weight.
You can exercise and eat a poor diet and not lose and even gain weight.
A good healthy diet high in fiber, lean meats, eggs, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, antioxidant foods, healthy beverages and low in added sugar and salt help people lose weight, lower cholesterol, increase energy, improve brain function, lower blood pressure, reduce cancer risk and have a more positive lifestyle!
You need to eat a lot more food and a lot more fiber!
Diets that exclude foods from any food group are fad diets and do not lead to permanent weight loss or solve any other health issues.
First, try to kick your fiber intake to 40 grams of both soluble and insoluble fiber.
Whatever you do, get your fiber from your food, not from a jar.
Fruits and vegetables have good fiber in them. A high fiber diet increases the metabolism.
Try a breakfast cereal with at least 20% of recommended daily allowance of fiber in it. They are usually low in sugar so there is a double benefit. Blueberries or raspberries on top add more fiber and antioxidants. But fresh or frozen, not the kind in syrup. Oatmeal with berries or a bit of fresh honey is also good.
Raw nuts are a great source of fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants. Avocados are the best.
Lots of beans, peas, and grains are high fiber. Whole grain breads. Fiber kicks up the metabolism so you actually burn more calories. These foods will give you more gas in the beginning but if eaten daily, the bacteria in the digestive tract will elevate lowering the gas output.
This will get you on the path for a healthy daily bowel movement. This helps clean the system and aids healthy digestion. A high fiber diet reduces transit time - the amount of time it takes food from when it is eaten to when it is expelled. This reduces toxicity in the system both from internally produced, ingested, and external toxins.
I know it goes against everything you've heard or read but eating lots of the right foods will actually help you lose weight!
Next, take an age appropriate basic daily multivitamin. Don't look at your multivitamin as nutrition but more as an insurance policy. Think of it as filling in the gaps in your daily diet as opposed to a primary source of nutrients.
You have to drink lots of water to be healthy. But you can disguise it. Fill your glass all the way full with ice before pouring low sugar beverages. Try iced green tea with a splash of orange juice in it for sweet. More antioxidants. Add lemon juice to water for flavor. Slice up a cucumber and float it in pitcher of water. Gives it salty fresh taste. But you must drink up to 100 oz of water daily to help your body get rid of waste and the natural toxins.
Last, you need to get 8-9 hours of quality sleep depending on your age. All recent sleep studies report a connection between poor sleep patterns and weight gain. This includes going to bed as close to the same time every night including weekends. Most of us stay up late Friday and Saturday night and it throws us off.
You must combine a healthy diet with exercise to multiply the benefit. Whether an hour a day in the weight room or just a 30 minute brisk walk every day, the added benefit of a regular exercise program really do increase and accelerate healthy weight loss.

I lost 30 pounds in 5 months by spending my money at the grocery and gym and have kept it off for over two years. Less than 3% of people that attempt weight loss lose it and keep it off for two years. It is not easy. It is a lifestyle change.
    Good luck and good health.

What is a fast way to gain weight...?

So yesterday at school I got called out of class to be talked to by the nurse, she took me in the corner and said some teachers had been talking behind my back, they think I'm anorexic
That killed me inside, the kids always point out how skinny I am...
I am fourteen, 5''4, and I only weight about 84 pounds.
Today I can't even go to school because it HURTS. I was trying to put on some baggy clothes, but nothing I own fits me the way I need it to. Shopping for clothes is a nightmare because they are either too short or too big. I can't take it anymore, even buying underwear is hard!
I just CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE, I can't go to school looking like this, knowing the teachers and kids think I am starving myself when it's just ME.

Please, please tell me, is there a food or vitamin or anything I can take to make me gain weight faster? I already eat a lot and I never gain weight. I don't have a medical condition, I've been checked out by many doctors, it's simply the way I was made, but I can't be like this anymore...

Six Simple Ways For You To Lose Weight

Trust me, you're not alone. I went through this and my friend used to make fun of food. The funny thing I used to eat a lot among my friend and family but gaining weight was almost impossible for me.
But I changed by eating habits and that helped me somehow.

1) EAT A LOT OF CALORIES: The best way to gain weight is to eat a lot of food that contains calories such as peanut butter, cheese, bread, pork, milk, egg. What I used to do was to carry a loaf of bread and bottle of peanut butter with me and try to eat them as a snack and make sure I finished eating them before I go to bed.
2) You can make your own nutritious calories by mixing ice cream and milk and drink a cupful in a minute or two before bedtime. This also helps me a lot.
3) You can drink more milk than water because water s somehow fat burner and it'll make you lose weight.

4) If you want this badly, you can decide to join a weight gain program. There are many scams in the market and you have to be very careful of which one to join. I came across one that help me a lot; they help gave me the best nutrition, motivation and the kind of activities that helps me to gain weight quick. To be honest, this weight gain program help me a lot to gain weight and now I look very big since they guided me to workout as well.
THIS IS THE LINK TO THE PROGRAM: http://560989ojje2a-lfch24eo5nkem.hop.clickbank.net/

  • I need to know this also. Im 6'1... 13 years old... and 98 lbs. Nobody says im anorexic but im tired of seeing a lil bit of my ribs without sucking in. I have a flat stomach its just around the ribs that look to skinny.
  • Believe me, the last thing you wanna do is gain weight. You don't wanna be fat. Ignore other peoples remarks and just be you. now you can eat lot's of burgers and chicken and after a while you may get over 100 pounds.

You have no other way to be somebody else, you're built like that. My brother is, he is 21, and what, 130 pounds. He eats more than me, yet never gains weight.

    hang in there

you say you eat a lot, but maybe you have a very fast metabolism. Eat at least 2500 calories a day, but make sure its healthy food, like peanut butter, avocados and nuts. You can look up the amount of calories at sites like caloriecounter. Try not to do cardio, but rather strength training like pushups, situps, weights etc. drink calorie dense shakes throughout the day/in between meals. Ask a dietician or doctor about supplements before you try anything. They can also set up a program for you to stick to.

But today I was just shopping and everyone I saw was so skinny and I just started crying and I hate myself. I've TRIED loosing weight..I tried fasting - I end up binging on the 3rd day. I've tried to be sick, that wouldn't work. I've tried exercise, im still exercisig but not losing sny weight. I DO have a healthy diet, believe me. I don't eat sweets/junk food. Today I ate : breakfast - a hard boiled egg with toast and a smoothie. Then I went swimming for 1 hour. Lunch : vegetable soup, an orange. Dance class for 45 mins. Then for dinner I had sushi my mum made ( we eat vegan dinners) . I've done this for about 2 months and I've lost about TWO POUNDS. Someone help me please!!

Choose The Best Way To Lose Weight

Lowering carbs is the best way to lose fat. Low carbs is also a very healthy type of diet.

A low carb diet is actually our natural diet. Pasta, bread, noodles, these are all bad carbs. Natural carbs (sugars) is fine, but keep it low if you want to lose fat.

  • bad carbs like pasta, oatmeal, cereal, brown rice yes...but you should still be eating safe starches like potatoes and white rice especially after workouts.

and you definitely need to eat plenty of fat.
  • Carbs give you energy but also make you put on weight. If you do excersize it is best to eat sone carbs afterwards to maintain your energy levels. If you do no excersize then cutting out carbs is a fast easy way to lose weight!
  • yes more then likely that is correct
try an fill up on proteins an vegetables
    an drink more liquids

    an get more active
  • Dang you're short... But anyways, yes cutting out carbs does make you get rid of fat efficiently. It worked for my dad... Fast and easy.
  • You could weigh at least 10 lbs more.

Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve (toning love handles, etc) Much cheaper than buying your own equipment. Also hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming, badminton, tennis...

If you lack energy to exercise, take stress B vitamins.
To lose weight, try an appetite suppressant.
  • Don't remove all carbs, they are essential for some processes in the body! But lowering the amount of carbs you take in will probably increase the rate of losing fat.
