Just started Megace 40mg/3 teaspoons daily?

Hello,

I''m prescribed Megace for rapid weight loss and having no appetite. I''m 5''9/5''10-140lbs right now. I''m taking Megace 40mg/3x daily. It works well with my appetite and eating through out the day. My weight been up and down through out the years with my HIV conditions. Before I was diagnosed I was on my death bed I was weighing 175-180lbs. They want me to get back to that weight. I was just wondering what would be a good supplement for weight gain. I do eat good and everything I just want to take some good supplements to gain faster and build muscle and bone strength quicker. Please just list some good workout supplements only.

Thanks

Fast Ways to Lose Weight and Keep it Off Forever!

Recommended Answer:
In order to build muscles and bone strength, you will have to do a high weight low repetition workout and not just rely on supplements to produce the result. I''m sorry that you have contracted HIV but that does not mean that your life will have to be being sickly and lack activity. How about hitting the gym, sleeping well every night and also doing the right workout to get some activity for you to enjoy a different but fruitful life from now on? Here is how I personally do it.

The key thing about diet is to eat more calories. This does not mean you feed yourself huge meals 3 times a day. This will lead to indigestion, gastric pains and other digestive complications because there is only so much your body can digest at one time. The idea is to eat more meals a day, preferably 6. This can be difficult if you are on the move all day like I''m so I suggest just stick to your 3 meals like you do but bring a long a liter of milk with you before you leave the house. Drink 500ml of milk in between each of your meal and finish the last dose 2 hours after dinner. This will provide the extra calories you need to gain weight. If after a week your weight is still not going up, simply increase the amount of milk you drink by 100ml and stick to your normal portions for your normal meals. Keep doing this until you gain the weight you need to. You should be putting on roughly a pound a week in my opinion. Once you gotten 2-3 pounds, it is time to focus on getting the right workout to help you build muscles and ensure that your body gain weight more steadily.

The best workout to do in order to grow muscle mass in terms of size is to do a high weight low repetition workout called hypertrophy. This will adjust your muscles to use the food you eat as the main source of energy rather than oxygen like smaller muscles do. If you are starting out to gain muscle mass, perhaps you should download the program at http://gohforth.com. This program has been extremely effective for me personally and also benefited my clients very well.

One thing that many people miss out is the fact that sleep is extremely important to help you gain weight and maintain a strong immune system. This is because when you stay up late, have interrupted sleep cycle or not enough hours of rest, you will burn more calories throughout the day and this means that you have to eat more or risk loosing weight. This is made worse if your metabolism is like mine in the past and this will probably mean you will lose up to 3-4 pounds in a week due to poor quality sleep. The road is long and tough, but as long as your stick by the 3 things which is a high calorie diet, sleep well and do the right workout regime, you will see roughly a 1 pound of muscle weight gain a week. I hoped I have helped you.

How do I lose fat without gaining muscle?

So, I''m a male. I''m 17, and I want to lose all of the fat that''s on my legs and my butt. I really don''t know what to try. I try to do stuff. I know that Cardio, is what I should be doing. All I want to do, is lose the fat without gaining muscle. I don''t want buff legs, or buff anything. I''m afraid, if I try Cardio, my legs are going to get bigger, by muscle. I want to lose that fat, not gain more shape to them

Help Me Lose Weight by Burning Fat in the Gym

Recommended Answer:
Cardio wil give you abit of muscle tone but it will be a subtle difference. Trust me, I do weights so I know that only lifting will make you legs become ''buff.'' Doing squats with heavy weights (over 200 pounds) will make your legs look bigger but doing lots and lots of cardio will only make very small differences. Please dont refrain from doing cardio because of this reason. You will lose plenty of fat and gain minimal muscle with a good regular cardio routine.

  • Don''t walk for a couple of months? you could get a wheelchair
  • Gaining muscle while doing cardio is inevitable. Most cardio uses almost all of the body, so while you''re working and using those same parts over and over they will start to strengthen. Running, biking, swimming. They burn major fat, and as you do it routinely you will see more tone in your body. You won''t be BUFF... just toned.

    Hope this helped

If this for prom? I think it''s coming up soon....
Well lets stick with 20 lbs in 2 weeks. It can be done. You will need to eat very healthy foods and exercise a lot. Probably for a good 3+ hours a day or how ever long it takes to burn 3900 calories. Meaning you could potentially lose a little over a pound a day (1.4lb). Watch your calories closely, you need to be burning at least 3500 calories a day to lose a pound in 1 day.

  • Get a sweat suit and do allot of cardio. Thats how all the fighters do it.
  • lol in 2 weeks? wont happen
  • That''s not possible. You want to lose an average of 10-15 pounds a week? Well if you are successful please share your tips because I''ve never ever heard of that. The most you could possible ever lose and that would come with crazy determination would be 7 pounds a week (a pound a day). You need to cut your calories by 3,500 each day. For example if you eat 1,000 calories then you need to burn 4,500 calories. It will be hard and you will be weak and not feel well but that is what you need to do to lose the most amount of weight.
If you''re trying to lose weight and then keep it off and be a little healthier. Then eat 1,500 calories each day and burn 700 calories a day- each week you will lose 2-3 pounds.

    Good Luck ~

I''m a kid just like you, and I''ve tried everything I could, but eating less is good and eating healthier things like salads every day could clean your body out and help you lose weight, I am trying a tricky diet that I made myself, you can try it if you like, I will eat a "protein" bar called slimful - 90 calories, then skipping lunch, eating only fruits and vegetable for dinner,- 200 calories (Trust me theres a lot of items that equal 200 calories) mashing them up in a blender. And working out a lot. Hope This helps.

Is it possible to lose 15 pounds by May?

I am 5''8 and currently weigh anywhere between 151-153. I''ve been obsessed with weighing myself the past years and have a history of anorexia. When I was at my heaviest I was 174. I lost 20 pounds and eventually got to 135 and was happy. I used Weight Watchers. I don''t feel I need a full program. Over the past year however ive been letting lose and haven''t been on track. Is it possible to lose 15 pounds by May before the summer begins? In desperate need of a selfesteem boost. I also cannot afford to join a gym and have been trying to workout at home. Any words of advice or wisdom?

You appear to have a problem past losing weight. You need to attend to your self esteem.

To lose weight safely and permanently, it takes time and dedication. You need to do aerobic exercises and keep at it so that your metabolism speeds up. Once you are at a particular weight for a few months, your body will try to maintain the new weight and not vary. The first 10 pound are usually fast, and watch your intake of salt because it retains water in your body.

  • 135-140 pounds is a really good weight for your height. Any way you lose weight will not be inexpensive, unless you starve yourself, and I do not recommend that at all. Although you are pretty healthy, dieting is still a good way to keep your health in check. The Atkins Diet gets you results fast, despite how overweight you are. You''re not actually overweight and most people would believe that that would slow down how much you lose. I''m 5''6 and in only four days, I dropped from 138 pounds to 131 pounds, so I''m pretty sure it works. Don''t be fooled though. Most of the weight that you lose in the first phase, (if I were you, I''d cut it down to 1 week instead of 2, because you''re not actually overweight), is water weight. But, it is in fact real weight that is just easier to gain back, so you''ve got to the stick with the diet. Stay away from restaurants period and cook at home. According to the Atkins Diet Phase 1, you should only consume 20 net carbohydrates a day. A little known fact: vegetables are loaded with carbs. Everything you eat in the first phase should be vegetables, meats, cheeses, or dressings (for salads). I eat a lot a day for 20 net carbs and I typically feel full by the end of the day. On the Atkins, you don''t cut back your intake, but moderate what you eat. For breakfast, I can have a 2 egg omelet, a half of cup of spinach, three strips of bacon, and two sausage links. For breakfast, I have a half of cup of cucumbers with ranch, a salad with meat, parmesan cheese, and whatever dressing I crave. For snacks, I usually stick to raw cabbage, which a lot of people find gross, but it''s a great substitute for carrots, which you can not have on the diet. I also have a hardboiled egg for a snack, but be cautious on your egg intake daily because you don''t want to end up with high cholesterol. For dinner, I enjoy whatever meets I want, with cheese, and greenbeans. The first phase is the hardest. The second one is the most enjoyable because you are allowed to add fruits(berries), yogurt, and nuts. ON THIS DIET, YOU WILL MOST LIKELY LOSE 15-20 POUNDS BY MAY, MAYBE EVEN MORE.

How many mph should I walk and how long for thin thighs and bum?

I want really slim thighs. What else should I do? I already eat pretty healthy

Weight Loss - Are You Fighting With Yourself to Lose Weight?

Recommended Answer:
Walking is going to reduce thighs very much. Better to go biking, hiking, jogging, play tennis, badminton, baseball. A non-fat diet helps, too. A good plan would be:

Breakfast: low fat milk on cooked 9-grain cereal (from health food store), mixed with cooked oatmeal and wheat bran. Add some nuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine.

Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts and yogurt w/fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham or beef stew.

Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit: banana, orange, apple, kiwi, grapes, peach, nectarine, cherries, pineapple. No chips and nothing ever from a vending machine.

Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it.

Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.

Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes.

Foods to avoid: junk food, pastries, desserts, sugar, salty foods, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fatty/greasy foods (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza), pasta, potatoes, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream, fast food, soda, chips. And of course no tobacco or alcohol in any form. Both of those add wrinkles and destroy your brain. No oil except olive and mac nut. Coffee also rots your brain.

To keep your skin clear, drink water. Veg. juice is good too. But not canned juice (too much sugar.)

Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment.

If you lack energy to exercise, take stress B vitamins.
To lose weight, try an appetite suppressant

  • The most important exercise you can do for a toned body is the Frequent Fork Drop, but you may already be doing that.
  • If you have enough will power become a vegan. If you don''t, just cut out fat foods and snacks. Also for walking, run instead at like 10-15 mph somewhere in that range but pace yourself and I''d run about a couple miles a day with breaks in between every couple of minutes (like every 5-7 minutes)
  • There is no such thing as spot reducing. To lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume, period. You will lose weight everywhere.

You can tone these muscles by doing exercises that concentrate on these areas.
  • Walk 4mph, which translates into a fast walk.

Why isn''t this working!?

How come I can''t seem to drop lower than 110 lbs?

So, I weighed 123 pounds last year. I ate healthy and exercised, and got down to 110 pounds, but couldn''t get lower than that. Through out this year I got lazy and started eating carelessly, and went up to 118 lbs. I lost weight over the past couple months (by eating healthy and exercising of course!) and am back down to 110. Each time, I never seem to get lower than that! I still would like to lose 5-10 lbs. How come I can''t? Should I eat less? Exercise more?
I''m female, 15, and 5''4" by the way. Thanks!

Special Foods to Eat to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Just keep up what you''re doing! 110 is probably where you''re body should be,otherwise you''d be underweight (which is still okay if you''re being healthy about it). If you really want to lose over fat, try adding more cardio. I do it before I eat breakfast because it burns fat rather than calories and I lost weight sooo much faster.

  • That''s your body saying "PLEASE DON''T LOSE MORE WEIGHT"
I''m 5''3 and I weighed around 110 and I''d get told all the time I was underweight. Even being just an inch taller than me, 110 is way to light for somebody your height. You should really weigh around 115.

I can''t stop eating?

I try and motivate myself, and throughout the day I do well, until I lose all willpower and at night I can''t stop eating. I feel terrible while I eat and after I eat but I just can''t stop the repeat of the process every day. Any tips? Please?

How to Burn Fat Without Losing Weight

Okay, so say you have a big bag of chips. Instead of eatig out of the bag, which will allow you to continuosly keep eating poor a certain amount into a bowl BUT LOOK AT THE SERVING SIZE!!! Also if u eat foods with alot of proyein and low fat you will be losing weight and youll get filled up quicker. Some of these might include peanut butter in controlled quantities and lean meats perhaps. Look up some of those and give that a shot. Also exercise is essential to losing weight. So remember, whenever you feel like exercising think of how happy youll be after and when you are in shape again. Also try playing an exciting song to get you pumped up. Hope I could help! :)

  • Only keep 1 day''s worth of food in ur fridge at a time
  • You can always put limits on how much you eat. But I really recommend trying not to eat after about six, its good for you and will help to maintain weight. Hope this helps, good luck.
  • fill 2 empty gallons with water and make sure you drink them throughout the day. It will help you feel full and it will help your metabolism
  • Eating is a habit, a bad habit. I broke my habit by going on a four day fast, water only.
What I learned was amazing, you actually can go without food with no bad effects, and your outlook on food changes completely, and I looked and felt so much better after, next time I will try for ten days.
  • Don''t stock up too much unhealthy food, even if it''s cheaper to buy by bulk, just buy by piece. You could also try to do detox. It takes about 2 weeks to clear your system of all unhealthy toxin and after that your craving will be reduce significantly. Then you can start to plan your meal, start by cutting down sugar and carb , eat more vegetable and protein . If you are still craving for something sweet, you can do a compromise by allowing yourself 1 cheat day per week. Good Luck
  • Drink 8oz water b 4 u start eating every things. That will fill u up! Make u eat less.. ;)

Exercise is key, but what you eat is what really makes the weight come off. You have to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. 3,500 calories is a pound, simple right? So if you exercise 45 min a day and cut back on your diet the weight will fall off. First you need to find out your BMR which you can do online and go from there. Just make sure you are burning more than consuming! Your BMR will tell you how many calories you are burning just being you! Remember its not all gonna happen at once and will take hard work and dedication. Diet is key my friend, as someone who has lost 68 pounds please listen.

Some people just have a faster metabalism than others, which is why they can sit around and eat awful food and never gain a pound, while someone can eat relatively healthy, and still not lose weight or anything.

It is believed that drinking a bunch of water of you eat can help dillude what you ate and make it easier for your body to digest, also water cleans out your body.

Good things to have that really detox your body are things like water, green tea, cranberry juice, and foods with a lot of fiber, such as oatmeal

  • Your friend doesn''t digest food faster than you, she has a faster metabolic rate than you (the rate at which your body burns fat).
Naturally skinny people have really metabolisms, their bodies burn fat really, really fast. I know it sucks and it''s not fair but it''s true.

10 Biggest Mistakes Made When Trying to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Don''t spend hundreds of dollars on some less-caloric-junk-food program. Choose a program that teaches you how to make good lifestyle choices while eating real food. The only way to make your weight loss permanent is to think of it as a healthy lifestyle, not a diet. Make weight loss less important than feeling healthier.

Whole30 is a great program. You can buy the book, or just read the rules here:

http://whole9life.com/2012/08/the-whole30-program/

Here''s what you do: Spend 30 days eating lots of veggies, some fruits, and good quality proteins and fats. You don''t have to buy powders or special weird foods or anything at all. Just eat good food.

Here''s what you can''t do: No added sugar, no fake sugar, no alcohol, no white potatoes, no grains, no dairy, and no legumes (that includes beans, peanuts, and all soy ingredients.) No MSG, no carrageenan, and no added sulfites. Corn is a grain - no corn.

Maybe it sounds like giving up a lot, but basically, you''ll just be choosing real, nourishing foods over less-nourishing foods. You have to have access to vegetables, though. It is super important that you have veggies at every meal, along with your healthy source of protein. And remember, your protein should be coming from food, not expensive synthesized powders and weird food replacements. Eat real food!

It''s hard in a dining hall setting where someone else makes all the food and your options are limited. Usually, the dining hall food is full of soy, grains, dairy, and sugar. These foods are all inflammatory for many people. They are also not very nutritionally dense. Lots of calories, not a lot of vitamins-per-calorie, so they''re not satisfying. Food that has a lot of calories but doesn''t satisfy makes you eat more, and also wrecks your metabolism. No wonder most people gain weight at college!

But it''s possible to make the best choices you can while at college. Always choose as many veggies as you can. Is there a salad bar? Make your own dressings, and eat a salad at every meal. Choose the protein-rich option from the hot line, skip the grains, and load up on veggie sides. Find out how the dining hall cooks the food. Ask about the oils, broths, and sauces they use. If you have access to a real kitchen, make as much of your food from scratch as you can.

If you order the book that goes with the Whole30 (It Starts With Food) you will find not just the science and other reasons behind following this plan for 30 days, but also a plan for transitioning back out.

One by one, you test how you respond to individual off-plan foods, and determine if and how often you want to eat them. For example, after completing thirty days without dairy, grains, sugar, legumes, alcohol, or additives, you might test how you react to dairy. You add dairy foods, but at first, not any of the other off-plan foods. See how you feel over the course of a couple days. Then stop eating dairy, and test a different food. Test rice, and see how you feel. Stop eating rice, and test a different food. You may find that you feel phlegmy when you eat dairy, depressed when you eat wheat, bloated when you eat soy, but just fine when you eat a bowl of rice. You may find that none of the off-plan foods makes you feel any specific bad way, exactly... Just that you feel somehow better without them. Or you may not feel any different with or without any specific foods, as long as you eat mostly cleanly, most of the time.

This is just one example of a good plan - choose one that fits you. The most important thing is that it be something you can do with the resources available to you. Make sure it''s a plan with real food, not fake food. And make sure it teaches you how to transition back off of it. And don''t forget to take care of yourself in other ways - get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, and move your body.

Good luck!

  • You don''t need structured program to stay healthy.

Eat well-balanced food to be healthy.

Enjoy life and enjoy being a student. Be happy.

    Stick to well-balanced food.
  • Doing a structured program will take dedication and will to be able to uphold it. Don''t worry about gaining some weight I gained roughly 10lbs during that time. Depending on your times you can do a mwf, tr, or everyday routine but do what fits you. Im going on a mwf routine but a good sample one you can try would be: (keep in mind I do a total body workout some people dont like them but thats why I give myself a day to heal)

MWF: Jog ( 15-30 mins) And I''m talking real running not the treadmill and since it is cold out put the treadmills elevation setting up or pick an elliptical to work out on. I prefer running outside/ biking.

    Next Do each muscle group:
Biceps: curls 3 sets of 10-15 reps
triceps: curls 3 sets of 10-15 reps
chest: chest flies help a lot though benching works as well. Again 3 sets of 10-15 reps
shoulders/back : you can do Arnolds, triangles, overhead press etc..
and finish with abs. I do a 6 min abs that I like to do 45sec of each crunches, right oblique, left oblique, air bikes, 6 inches, bikes, 6 inches and finish with crunches.

Keep in mind dumbbells could be used or machines for any of these but this routine should be repeated up to 2 circuits but only lasting a month to switch how your body responds to these, try reverse or do different kinds of workouts. Some people do not like to do an total body workout in one day but with this it would help burn fast faster and tone more.

About the protein question: I was talking to my chemistry professor about this as well. He has a masters in biochem and a masters in chem as well and what I got from the experience. Is that protein is basically gym talk and most of it goes out as urine anyway and he as not seen any scientific research or tests that confirm this. As long as your are somewhat okay and not really crappy your body should have enough protein to be able to restore your muscles back normal as well as a few extra fibers for strength. If you were dead set on protein you can buy whey protein at stores for under 30 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Body-Fortress-2lb-Vanilla-Whey-Protein/10322404. They use whey protein because its simpler than other proteins and cheaper but it helps to some extent. If you do take it you will fill really full and kinda bloated. Also normal fruits and veges are really good for protein. Milk, almond milk, eggs, peanut putter, and many more http://www.allinahealth.org/ahs/healthwellness.nsf/page/foods_protein is an example.

Eating: eat a little before a workout ( if you can) and defiantly eat after so your body can replinish all that it has lost during the work out. Another note water is healthier for you than gator aid and other sport drinks. Unless you are a athlete and losing all of those electrolytes and other minerals then you need it but normal people like us water would be the healthier choice along with your fruit and other foods you will be fine.

I hoped I helped and I know its a lot to read.. but again I hoped that I made sense! good luck!

should i be worried about my weight gain?

i''m 21, 5''7", and right now weigh 125lbs. my usual weight is 120lbs, but last week i got on the scale and noticed the change. i have a strict exercise routine of vigorous cardio six days a week for an hour at a time (mostly jumping jacks, i do about 7,000 a day, can''t afford a treadmill) , and i eat between 1500 and 2000 calories a day. i don''t understand ware this weight is coming?

Discover How You Can Lose Weight Permanently

You are still way in the healthy weight range for your height. If you are working out a lot and healthy but enough calories you could have gained muscle? It''s possible you could be bloated or you are holding onto some water weight. You don''t need to lose weight but if you continue to exercise everyday and eat healthy it is extremely unlikely you are gaining fat. One thing you might want to do is try doing different workouts that push your body harder (not too hard) because once you have done the same exercise long enough it stops working your body. I wouldn''t worry about the weight gain...like at all. Sometimes scales are weird once I weighed myself on my scale at home (I thought I had gained 5 pounds in 2 days!!) At a doctors appointment 2 days later I found that I had lost, not gained! Also another tip, weigh yourself in the morning after you go to the bathroom because your weight jumps around during the day.

  • We have the same problem. I have used Phen375 for the last 3 months. It is a pharmacy grade weight loss pill that synthesizes hormones and compounds in the body that decreases the body’s capacity to store fat and increase the body’s ability to burn stored fat reserves. Now I am 120lbs again. :)
  • You''re probably putting on muscle. Muscle weights more than fat. Weight isn''t always an indication of health. Measure your body and make sure they''re within range of what you want for a better way of measuring your progress.
  • At 125 lbs your weight is still at the low end of normal and that is OK so you don''t have a problem.

At 5''7 your ideal weight is 135 lbs so below 122 lbs or above 148 lbs can be regarded as underweight or overweight.

Perhaps you gained some muscle weight from your 7,000 jumping jacks a day.

It wouldn''t hurt to up you calorie intake to 1,500 - 2,000 calorie''s - since you are pretty active.

Is It Possible To Lose Weight Fast?

Recommended Answer:
The best thing to do is what you just did. Admit that you are fat. Don''t try those "lose fat quick" things. They WON"T work. it took you a long time to get this big, and it''s going to take some time to get down to normal size. The best thing that you can do is just start walking. If you can, start walking to school, or walk to a different bus stop 5-6 blocks away. Then on the way home, get off 5-6 blocks away as well. You need to move more.
The most important thing you can do is to slowly start building muscle. You might want to start by talking to a coach at your school. Tell him that you want to start building muscle so that you can start burning fat. Remember-muscle weighs more than fat does (it''s more dense) so don''t get discouraged if you weigh yourself and haven''t lost any weight. Actually, don''t get on a scale. Take a picture of yourself in your shorts (and hide it from everyone). Then wait a couple months and look at the picture and look at how much your body has changed.
Cut back on your soda intake by 50 % for the first week, then another 50% the next week, and by the fourth week, stop it all together. Caffeine is a drug that is addictive, so you''ll have to cut back on it slowly and let your body get used to not having it anymore.
Don''t use anything that says "Diet" on it. They use all types of chemicals that trick your body into thinking that it''s actually consuming sugar when it''s not.
Start eating fruits and vegetables-the real stuff, not "fruit flavored" things. Have your parents get some fruits & veggies at the store. Apples are really good to eat when you have a craving for something sweet. They''ve got a good "crunch" too! Just eat the whole thing - ok - you don''t have to eat the core if you don''t want to, but the skin is good for you to eat.
Don''t worry if you fall off the diet wagon and eat a burger or piece of pizza or two. It''s normal to crave those things, so don''t fight it, just eat them in MODERATION.
I hope these things help you out.

  • Going on a strict diet will end in failure.
You already know whats healthy and unhealthy, and a good half a hour of cardio exercise is all you need.
Once a week take a break day and eat what you would normally eat, but not more.
  • Start to jog and you get confident go to the gym. If that never works out get a cubby girlfriend more cushion for the pushin.ツ
  • If you are really interested in getting off weight, then you should start walking. This will cost you nothing, and you will get all the fresh air that you need. Walk for one hour every day, with a rest on Saturday and Sunday. Try and walk faster every other day, and that way you will achieve your goal. You will be surprised at the amount of weight you will lose and in a short time. Also eat healthy food, with plenty of greens, protein, and fruit. This will get you started, then you will be ready to pump iron after that. But you must start somewhere and it might as well be with the first step. So start walking.
  • Look at tmw on youtube. just eat less and move more. run for an hr everyday or use a cardio machine. i was 15 when i statred too now im 19 and i can tell u it does get better just stay persistant good luck
  • listen to Not A Happy Guy. His advice is the best.

If I was riding a cart down a hill would it go faster if weight was in the back or the front?

My friend has made a cart and wants to ride it down a hill but he doesn''t know if it would be faster if he put weight in the back or front.

I ride pretty fast and it''s up hill. Will I lose any weight?

  • the front. Think about it- if it is in the back, that would make the back ride lower than the front, creating drag from the air. Also, it would slide forward. Put it in the front, and it would bring the front end down, thus reducing drag. it would go faster. Also less likely to hit you as it slides forward.
  • No matter how much weight (even one ton) you
add to your cart it won''t go any faster.
Neglecting air resistance, all objects of any weight fall
    at the same rate.

  • It doesn''t make any difference to the speed.

7 Tips to Help You Lose Weight Now

Recommended Answer:
Same here but im 140 pounds and 5''3"
I have an open question about this that im waiting, i need help too. But here are some things i did to lose a few pounds:

- Dont eat after 6-7 oclock
- Brush your teeth as early as possible because fizzy pop and other unhealthy drinks will taste nasty and it will motivate/force you to drink water. Also water could taste minty due to your toothpaste- making you more willing to drink it- this alone will improve weight loss
- If you see a chocolate bar you want to buy make sure you get a single one rather than a duo, or if you want crisps get the smaller ones... Dont deprive yourself of food, just eat in moderation.
- The way i see it now every exercise counts. Even if you literally only do one sit up one press up and one crunch at least it''s something. Then daily increase the amount you do by one. So the next day you will do two of each.
- Search on youtube some workouts, but make sure you consult your doctor on it, to make sure your okay with any dieting plans and workouts. Make sure you stretch!
- Mentally prepare yourself, just keep saying to yourself over and over, "I love water" or " I really really like working out/exercising" or "I hate junk food so much" eventually youl believe yourself, not to the point that you dont like junk food, but rather if you had a choice between a snicker and an apple you will pick the healthy option

Those are just a few things that helped me, Good luck, i wish you all the best :)

Why is it that so many people want to drop pounds without working out?

Not just on this site but all around me I see people wanting to lose weight without exercising or eating right. They want starve themselves,go on strange liquid diets, diet pills, every cheat out there. Yes, dieting and exercising is hard, very very hard, but it''s so much more rewarding to know your doing it right! I also don''t get all the questions about how they can lose excessive amounts of weight in a small amount of time. Is it a lack of dedication? Impatience?

How To Lose Weight Fast and Safely

Recommended Answer:
Because they don''t know any better. If they new the proper methods of exercise and nutrition, they wouldn''t be fat in the first place.

  • Becuase being fit is fun, but working out isnt.

    The science:
Humans (unlike many animals) make short term judgments on things a oppose to long term judgment. Meaning: when we see working out, we think "no enjoyment". We don''t tend to think about the enjoyment we''ll get down the road.
  • Because people expect scientist to come up with a product that will make them healthy and fitter without putting the work in
Because why should they exercise if maybe some magical pill will do it for them (sarcasm)
  • To lose weight and keep it off, you need to make a permanent lifestyle change. Most people approach diet and exercise as something transitional, that they need to do "for a while." That''s why they''re more likely to adopt strange fads. Also, let''s be real: losing weight with a proper diet and lots of exercise is still REALLY HARD, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose, and many people who turn to fad diets have tried more conventional methods and failed.

Low-calorie diets are deprivation diets and those are bound to fail. When you exercise more, you get hungry, but you''re told to eat less. And everyone''s first piece of advice to a fat person is to eat less, but there''s an assumption that the person is fat because of over-eating. What if the fat person isn''t over-eating? Does he have to drop down to starvation rations just to lose weight? Eat less and exercise more, while seemingly sound, are a recipe for disaster.

So I get the fads. I also get that real change, the idea of fundamentally altering how you relate to food, how you organize your time, and how active you are, are difficult and scary.
  • Lots of reasons for that including lack of motivation, lack of self discipline, laziness and ignorance in some cases.

Also, in some rare cases it can be a genetic problem

If a person is genetically predisposed to be overweight, it can be extremely difficult to find the self discipline to change their body, but it can be done.

I guess that would mean that the primary reason is lack of self discipline.

Losing a lot of weight quickly is generally a bad idea and frequently it will be regained as quickly as it was lost.

This is why dieting alone doesn''t generally work.

To get to a specific weight requires self discipline and changing your entire focus as well as eating habits and activities.
  • Some people are just LAZY and dont want t put in the time and effort instead they wnt to take the easy way out

Meal #2 - Either a bowl of tuna w/ mustard & pepper or a bowl of rice with chopped veggies
Meal #3 - Either a bowl of tuna w/ mustard & pepper or a peanut butter sandwich + a cup of yogurt
Meal #4 - A bowl of almonds (5-10) & walnuts (2-4) + a banana

What is the Fastest Way to Lose Weight?

Recommended Answer:
Seems pretty effective for weight loss for the most part, but their is definitely room for improvement. In meal one I suggest that you stick with oatmeal, because granola high in fat and sugar, and also can be addictive, because it is so tasty. or you can try barley which is similar to oatmeal in terms of taste and health. If you want the most effective diet in terms of weight loss, I suggest you stay away from bread as a whole and get your carbs from helathier and less starchy sources such as brown rice, oatmeal, barley, and healthy cereals that are low in sugar and high in fiber. Also finding alternatives to tuna as a main source of protein in your diet will help you stick to it. Such alternatives could be canned clam meat, egg whites, beef jerky, beans etc. You may need to add a little bit more calcium in your diet, and that can easily be done by adding more yogurt or fat free cottage cheese to the meal plan. But to warn you some yogurts even ones that are marked as healthy are high in sugar and if you have a hunger impulse , and they are stocked up in the fridge they may not last. So anyway hope this helps and good luck with your diet, and stay true to it as possible, but I definetlydo recomend that you do some research.

  • a diet is nothing without exercize!

peanut butter is kind of bad for you-SOO much fat. also carbs. if carbs arent used up, they are stored as FAT! instead go for protein. unused protein is just pooped out
also make sure its GREEK yogurt, it has more protein
alsoo remember celery and pickles are 0 cal wink wink winkkk
  • You might get tired of tuna after a while so i would recomend throwing in any type of lean meat like chicken for a substitute! Other than that it sounds good - remember to drink 8 glasses of water a day! Good Luck!
  • in addition to that I exercise by doing 10 repetitions of heavy weights. 11 exercises in 15 minutes 3x a week at 50 I was out of shape lost 35 lbs by cutting sweets and carbs.

Can you still lose weight while building muscle? 10 points for good answer.?

Wondering How To Lose Weight Quick?

Recommended Answer:
Yes , you can lose weight while building muscles !!

it is totally depend on your workout and meal strategy !!

see if you eat lots of protein without calories , and doing exercise you are going to gain muscles through Protein .

One thing you have to remember you have not to take high calorie diet, prefer protein reach and low calorie food like Egg White , it contains 30 calories only - with more protein and all !! it will build muscle with no extra weight !!

  • yes you can loose weight while building muscle. muscle Burns about 10x more calories than fat. so the more muscle you have the faster you burn fat. btw muscle does not weigh more than fat....its more dense! 10lb of muscle weighs as much as 10lb of fat :)

Am I skinny-fat? And if so, what can do to lose the "fat" part?

I am 14 years old, 5''4, and 112 pounds. I look and am considered skinny (not abnormally or unhealthily so, but just very slender) but when I take my clothes off I have a rather bloated tummy with little pouches of fat on the side. The rest of my body is just thin---my arms look toned and my legs look toned but my legs definitely could be more toned. Do I fit under the description of skinny-fat?

I really do not watch my diet---I''m a compulsive overeater and stock up on chocolate and all sorts of other sugary or otherwise unhealthy foods. And while I am an active/hyper person (always jumping or hopping or running around or whatever) I do not actually participate in sports or formal exercise.

Healthy Ways To Lose Weight - The Easiest Ways To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Here is what I would suggest:

1. Vary your caloric intake each day. For example, have 1500 one day, 1200 the next, 1700 the next, and so on. That way your body doesn''t adjust to the calorie level.

2. Vary the foods you eat. Eat a great variety of healthy food.

3. Vary your exercise routines. Don''t work out at the same time everyday. Sometimes work out in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes twice a day, and sometimes skip a day.

4. Vary the types of exercise you do. Don''t do the same things everyday.

5. Include strength training/weight lifting as part of your exercise plan, but again don''t do the same things everyday,

6. Incorporate as many types of aerobic exercise as you can. Each day vary the time, the intensity, and the type of exercise as much as possible.

7. Eliminate ALL junk food, sodas, pop, sweets, fried foods, fast foods, fruit juices, and processed foods. Everyday eat a healthy diet of fruit, veggies, a few nuts, lean meat and fish, whole grain breads and cereals, low fat dairy products.

8. Consider sort of shocking your system by doing a one day or even a two day liquid diet. Keep it healthy. You can use some of those meal replacement shakes or drinks - Glucerna, Boost, Ensure, the Special K shakes, etc. Drink plenty of water and you can also include sugar free jello.

How can i try to gain weight?

I have high metabolism and i eat alot but gaining weight just seem impossible im afraid im too skinny i know its usually the other way around with girls but any suggestions on how i can gain weight?

The 2009 Fattest Cities in America - Can the People in Those Cities Lose Weight Quickly?

Recommended Answer:
If you have a high metabolism and is looking to gain weight healthily, the key is not only simply to eat a lot. The key is to eat a lot of carbohydrates many times a day, sleep well as well as doing the right exercise. Only then will you be able to see significant weight gain that will stay on your frame and not be lost when you stop. Here is what I do suggest to get your diet in place.

Diet is the fundamental key and usually the first thing most people who are skinny will stumble upon first. However, the usual habit of eating a lot in one sitting bares no reason. This is because in a skinny person''s body like yours, it is highly likely that the body will feel overwhelmed by the sudden influx of so many nutrients and your digestive system will simply push the excess down the line into excrement. The key is to use carbohydrates is because the body will not do that to this particular energy source. Also, it provides the body with energy that will last 3-4 hours and thus require less loading time compared to other energy sources. Also, eating things like potatoes, pasta, noodles, biscuits, bread and rice 6 times a day with an interval of 2-3 hours in between will ensure that at no time in the day your body is deprived from an energy source, thus allowing you to gain and maintain the weight you have. If preparing 6 meals a day is daunting, perhaps you can try drinking 500ml of milk in between your meal for a total of 3 times a day. Increase the amount of milk you drink by 100ml every week until you see a 1 pound weight gain on the scale. This is the magic number of calories you need in order to gain weight so make sure you maintain this diet.

The next thing to look into is also a lifestyle habit and it is sleeping. So many people neglect sleep and that is what separates the successful gainers from the not successful one. The key is not only to sleep enough but to also sleep well. This means no interruptions or waking up in the middle of the night. If you can achieve your usual regime of sleeping and waking up yourself every single day, you are definitely acing this factor very well. If time does not permit, simply do this on weekends and ensure that your weekdays are still filled with long rest at night.

The last thing most skinny people will never think about is exercising to gain weight. The misconception is that exercising will cause me to lose weight so why should I do it? This is because if you simply rely on a regime of sleep and diet, you will gain fat which will be lost when your calorie intake is lower or your sleeping pattern is compromise. This will lower your weight faster than you can say wait a minute. Also, there are too many workouts on the internet and books that promise gains but none actually works like http://gohforth.com. That is a workout dedicated to help skinny people to gain weight and I personally vouch for that.

  • Lots of proteins.. dont eat junk food because your metabolism will just reject it.

How to lose weight? 10 points!!?

I want to lose 20-30 pounds before my next school year, because I want to look good for my first year of high school (9th grade). I''m 5''6 and I weigh 136 pounds. My legs are big, i want them way smaller. What excercises should I do? What foods should I eat? What foods should I cut down on? How often should I excercise?

Oh, please help me with this, I do not want to hear "You''re the perfect size for your age and height", etc. I want to lose weight.

The Problem With Losing Weight

Recommended Answer:
I was fat for a large portion of my life, and this sounds exactly like what I did when I started trying to lose weight. I felt tired, fatigued, and just depressed; I lost 10 pounds in a little over 2 months. Oh, and I was hungry the whole time. So, please, do not do what I did.

This is one of the most common mistakes people make when trying to lose weight. There is a certain, specific list of nutrients and foods your body needs when you are trying to lose weight. When you deprive your body of what it needs, it literally shuts down. This is why, if you do use this food in your diet, you won''t see results.

I know how you feel; having unwanted bodyweight is extremely frustrating. Through years of trial and error I found something that worked for me, and now my clients. There is a balance that, when put into place, makes weight loss laughably easy. I can’t really explain all of it here, but my website will really help you http://www.secret.lightmindfitness.com

  • some people talk/write TOO MUCH but dont say ANYTHING!... this will help!

    Do NOt Eat:

    * Bread, Rice, Noodles, Cereal - all carbs - store excess fat regardless of bodies need.
    * Most convenient snacks - fruit roll ups, gushers, and even the granola bars aren''t as good for you as they claim!
    * KoolAid - 2 cups of STRAIGHT SUGAR!!!
    * soft drinks, sodas, energy drinks... i dont touch anything with over 12g carbs which are ALL sugar!
    - I would NOT recommend substituting the sugar free ones, the sugar sub is linked to cancer.
*Even ALL natural fruit juices have a lot of natural sugar which is better but if over consumed will store fat!
    * bananas are surprisingly fattening so i only eat them in 1/2s or 1/4s at a time.

Things to Consume A LOT of:

    * Water (ill add lemon juice or cucumbers for flavoring!)
    * Sparkling water with lime - tricks ME into thinking i''m drinking soda! I haven''t had a soda in 5 months!
    * salads- add strawberries, nuts, cucumbers and goat cheese with an Asian Fat Free dressing... you will love!!! Add baked chicken for a complete meal!
    * soups - cabbage, bell peppers, onions, celery, squash, beans, tomatoes, potatoes(sparingly), yams, broccoli, cauliflower, etc are ALL great ingredients On their own, teamed up or all together with some broth (veggie preferably).
    * Salsa Chicken : I brown the sides of fresh raw chicken slices in a lightly oiled pan then simmer on medium for 45 minutes in my favorite Salsa! Its a protein packed, carb-less meal!
    * steamed carrots and broccoli are a great in between meals snack! Tastes great, fills you up, healthy and relatively fat free.
*Pre-made salads- sliced cucumbers & red onions combined with chopped peanuts and cilantro.

    2 Possible Dressings:

    1) Whisk together the 1/4 cup raw sugar and 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar in a mixing bowl until the sugar has dissolved.

    2) Mix with:
    juice of 1/2 lime
    1-2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 tsp. shrimp paste
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper (to taste)
    1 to 1+1/2 tsp. sugar

The trick is to eat small amounts every hour or two to keep your metabolism going. Starving yourself will have a detrimental effect on your actual health and will most likely cause you to gain even more weight.

Walk DONT RUN!, Walking a 1/2 hour a day will be perfect but keep a good pace, no running...bad for your joints and REALLY not necessary :)

Hope this is enough for now!

1000 calories per day healthy?

I''m trying to eat healthier so I can lose weight. I was told to eat like 1,700 calories a day but only eat around 1,000 calories a day. It''s not that I''m depriving myself, I''m just not hungry. With that, I usually burn around 600 calories from running each day. Will I be able to lose weight if I continue to do this? Thank you!

How to Lose Weight - Don''t Lose Your Sleep and You''ll Lose Your Weight

Recommended Answer:
That''s only 4184kj that''s not healthy. I know they say a person should burn more calories than they consume to lose weight but I do nutrition at school and they say you need on average 8700kj or approx 2000 calories just for your body to perform basic functions. Eating such a small number aswell will make you lose weight but you will be starving your body of essential nutrients and will cause your body to go into a catabolic state (body breaks down muscle to feed itself) if your exercising to lose weight and gain muscle then you need to eat a healthy balanced diet getting the recommended minimum amount of calories. Otherwise you will lose weight in fat and muscle. NOT HEALTHY!!!! My advice is to target for 2000 and burn 500 or whatever you do a say in exercises. After a week you would have burned 3500 calories (on average if you did arduous exercise everyday) this will make you lose weight healthily, keep muscle, and provide body with minimum amount it needs to maintain itself, good luck!!!

What is the Best Way to Lose Weight Without Exercise? Discover the Truth Behind Losing Weight

Recommended Answer:
•Cardio exercise alone is not the best way to lose thigh fat. Yoga, which includes postures that can slim and strengthen your thighs.
• You also need to change what you eat. If you inherited the trend toward fat thighs, you will have problems if you eat a diet heavy in saturated fats, sugars, and sodium. You will keep liquid and fat.
•Stretch your muscles thoroughly before and after exercising.
•Your strength-building, thigh targeting workout could include leg presses, leg curls, and lunges. For extra strengthening.
•The best way to lose thigh fat includes drinking sufficient water throughout the day to keep your metabolism running full blast. You could alternate two cups of herbal tea for two of your cups of water a day.

First off i''m not an overly skinny person that really needs to gain weight, but I just want to know. Okay, I bought a gallon of Whole Milk the other day to see if I''d gain some extra weight. I work out (Power-lifting) and I just want to put on some more weight 10-12 pounds so I can bulk up a bit. Will this help? I''m sorry, for how I writ this question, i''m a bit tired and careless right now. Thanks a head, and please be respectful.

Why People Want to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
If you are looking to put on 10-12 pounds, make sure that you try to bulk up by 2 pounds every month if you are looking for lean muscle mass. If not, I suggest looking to gain 1 pound every week by eating a high calorie diet, sleep well and do the right workout. Whole milk will help but powerlifting develops more power than size.

Three Amazing Steps To Losing Weight

Recommended Answer:
Trust me they don''t work. I tried EVERYTHING to lose weight. I finally managed to succeed by keeping my calorie intake around 1400-1600 calories a day, and walking 30-45 minutes several times a week. That''s the best way to do it.

  • It is a waste of money and could negatively affect you. Avoid them. The ONLY way to lose weight permanently is to learn to eat correctly. Eliminate ALL fast food, junk food, soda and sugary drinks from your diet. Instead, eat 5 small meals a day that consist of around 50% protein/30% carbs/20% fats and make sure that you are eating at least 1200 calories a day. Include a minimum of 8 glasses of water daily and start exercising. Start a combination of cardio and weight training for 5 to 6 days a week. Nothing else will work, especially fad diets that can actually hurt you more than help you.
  • You could I think. But it''ll be pretty effed up.
If you''re actually overweight then you''ll lose weight quicker then other people if you diet normally.
  • No, you really shouldn''t. It could really harm your body. If you want to lose weight, control your diet and exercise more.
  • Diet pills are dangerous. The only way to lose weight and become healthy is through diet and exercise. Try a program like P90-X along with a healthy diet. You''ll be amazed by the results you get. You should be eating at least three meals a day. If you don''t have time for a real meal you could always try a meal replacement shake such as Shakeology. I drink it for breakfast everyday. It tastes great and has all vitamins and nutrients your body needs to recover from exercising. http://www.myshakeology.com/PushPlayGetFit

How to treat people who never gave you the light of day before you lost weight?

Most of the people in my high school go to my college, I went to school with them for 5 years, they never acknowledged my existence in high school or in college...except recently when I lost a lot weight. I was always nice to them, hoping they would be friendly back, but they weren''t, some of them even picked on me, which really scarred me.

They now say hello to me, and start conversation. I really dont want to be nice to them, it feels wrong to continue being nice to them. I have no idea how to treat them.

You will find fake people everywhere, unfortunately.
I understand what you''re saying with regard to not wanting to speak to old colleagues who were inconsiderate in the past. However, it will do you no good to hold onto bitterness and to be blatantly rude to them.
What you can do is ignore them especially in situations where you aren''t required to respond to them and generally just brush them off and show a lack of interest. If they stop to speak to you, say hi and give very vague responses and pull yourself out of their company as quick as you can by simply saying that you have to go or you''re busy. It''s hard to learn how to ignore especially when you''re a nice person and your immediate reaction is to be polite and friendly. Don''t make a big deal out of it, just focus on the positive people and don''t make time for those who bring negativity into your life.
Personally, I never add or talk to such persons on social networks either and I delete/block when I have to and I do not care what they think of me.

Congrats on the weight loss! No harm in feeling proud of your accomplishments (and the fact that people have noticed ;)). Keep it up! All the best.

  • Be nice to them, but don''t be friends. If your horrible to them your just as bad as they are! You''v seen them for what they really are and know your a better person. Walk away with a smile.

Am i putting my life in danger?

i''m 19 and have anorexia. i currently weigh 31.5kg (72lbs) at 5"2, which puts my BMI at just over 13.

i eat 800-900 calories a day, and i dont make myself sick. i do exercise when i feel guilty - sometimes powerwalking up to 6 miles a day.

however, i''ve never passed out or been admitted to the hospital, and whenever i''ve had check ups, they''ve always came back relatively normal.

my daily diet looks like this:

BREAKFAST: low calorie yoghurt with some dry cheerios; low calorie hot chocolate
LUNCH: low calorie noodles with some soy sauce; rice cakes
SUPPER: 20 calorie soup; yoghurt coated fruit flakes
SNACKS: apple; some grapes & pineapple; dried apple pieces; candy like lovehearts/chupa chups lolly/a boiled sweet

there are some photos of me at this link; i was actually 6lbs heavier when they were taken:

so how dangerous is my predicament, do you think? thanks for any advice you can give :)

How to Eat at McDonald''s and Still Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Excuse my French, but fuck the people who are saying you look beautiful. The way you are living is extremely dangerous, unhealthy, and could conceivably kill you in a matter of years. You are consuming less than half of the energy that an INACTIVE person needs just to maintain his or her weight. Furthermore, any exercise that you are doing with such a current calorie deficit is only serving to strain your already damaged heart valves further. If you do not reach a healthy weight soon and consume adequate nutrition, one day when you exert yourself your heart will simply not be able to handle the strain and you will have a heart attack and probably die. Another possibility is that your heart may simply stop beating in your sleep.

In case I am sounding like a prick, I am only trying to help. Quick story: I am a 19 yr old GUY and I had anorexia from the ages of 16 to 18. I went from a healthy 120 lbs at 5''5" to around 90 lbs, all the while while maintaining an insane and dangerous exercise routine. At my lowest point, I was freezing cold in the dead of summer, had no energy to do anything, and lost all sex drive whatsoever. It messed with my development and growth big time, and destroyed some of my most treasured relationships because I resented and pushed away those who were only trying to help me.

One day I realized that I was slowly killing myself by the way I was living. I got help and got myself on track. A difficult road, but today I am 5''5" and 125 lbs, active, healthy, and happy.

I have been there. I know how hard it is. I know how there is that voice in your head which is always telling you to push it just that little bit more, to grind out that tiny bit of non-existent fat, to deprive that extra amount of food, to run just that little bit farther. I have also posed in photographs with an emaciated frame and that false smile, all the while just wanting to see the photograph to make sure you aren''t fat but knowing that you will look fat anyway. But it ain''t the way. It''s your brain malfunctioning, just like a mental illness. It is a mental illness. The only thing driving your behavior at this point is the powerful forces of habit. But it is possible to replace the bad habits will good ones over time. I did it. It was hard. But worth it.

PLEASE get help, be good to your body, which is a gift, and love yourself. Peace.

Why/Does being on the birth control pill make your hornier and therefore increase your libido?

I got put on the birth control pill because of period complications problems but since i''ve been on it for like up to 7-8 months, I realised I have been masturbating more than I had before I had started the pill and been thinking about having sex more often (I am still a virgin by the way, just thinking about it more often) and especially when my period comes along, thats to die for and the highest libido stage ever, why am I feeling more hornier and sexier than I did before the pill? i want to have sex now, why am I feeling so damn horny whilst on the pill and is it supposed to be like this? what is making me feel hornier now that I am on the pill? I am 23 by the way, is that a indicator too? I am also on a weight loss diet too? need help?

How much should I weigh, and how many calories should I get in a day?

Well 120 sounds perfectly fine for your height, definately wouldn''t want/need to lose any.
5-10 pounds of gain wouldn''t be anything aweful either, going off of your description of muscles and what not;), going off of your description you probably look lighter than you are, muscle weights more than fat, but unless your packin heavy muscle, it aint gonna show a lot :).
As for your calories, the only factor for you would be is your metabolism.
Assuming you have a fast one, since your young and slim like me, you can probably eat as much as you want and not gain a pound lol. Since you did say you get around 30 minutes of workout a day, assuming cardio (which also speeds up metabolism) i would aim for atleast 1200+ calories a day if i were youu

BMI is a horrible way to measure fatness, It is scientifically nonsensical.
It''s really better by far to go by "body fat %" (the Ideal BF% being about 20% for a woman)

although it might be difficult to achieve, it is a fairly safe time frame for that amount of weight(losing at a rate of 2.5 - 3lbs a week)

as far as how to lose fat the first thing you''ll need to do is learn to count calories and clean up your diet so here''s a good resource for that: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

What is the Best Way to Lose Weight Without Exercise? Discover the Truth Behind Losing Weight

Recommended Answer:
You can always try to jog. Its easy and helps your legs and your heart.

Jogging Is A Great Way to Exercise

When it comes to benefits from exercise, jogging is one of the easiest and best ways to remain healthy. For people who are at high risk of developing heart disease and need to undertake some heart disease prevention measures, or even if they are healthy and are wanting those coveted six pack abs, they have a solution in jogging. This is one exercise that guarantees fat loss and will develop muscle definition. Jogging is also a great stress buster and gives one a lot of time to clear the mind of clutter and stress.

Jogging is the next best thing to yoga, or so experts have us believe. The entire body benefits from jogging, which helps everything from fat loss to cardiovascular improvement and prevents injury by strengthening muscles in the whole body.

What Is Jogging and How Does It Help?

Jogging is running at a slow steady, speed as opposed to running that is usually a much faster form of jogging – more of a sprint to get to a place quicker. Jogging, one can say, is “leisurely” running at a much slower consistent pace over a longer period of time. Jogging is better than running because you will be putting in much less effort than you would if you were running, thus you burn energy steadily over a longer period of time and burning more fat, while all the time, you tone up those muscle groups.

When you jog, you do not tire yourself out and are ready to face the day fresh and full of energy. You will be left with a healthier, slimmer you because you have toned up your body steadily and have conditioned it to bear more stress over time. By jogging, you gradually burn fat, which will stay off permanently. This is something you will not be able to achieve if you run instead of jog.

The Best Way to Get A Flat Stomach – Jogging

If you are thinking of which gadget or piece of exercise equipment to buy to get that flat stomach you have wanted for so long, you should know that a flat stomach need not cost you a cent. In fact, the means to a flat stomach is not the crunches and sit-ups that you are thinking of. All you need to do is start jogging every day.

Begin with a slow paced jog for about fifteen minutes every day then take it up to a faster steadier pace for an hour each day as you begin to grow accustomed to the exertion. Remember that you should keep up the exercise for a fixed period of time each day. If you get tired you could slow down to a steady walk until your breathing is back to normal, then begin to jog again. Slowly, over time, you will find that you can jog a whole hour without a pause. What is more, you will find that you have lost a lot of fat and reduced weight too.

Jogging is the best form of cardio anyone can do. It is an exercise where one can control the heart and respiratory rate. The heart rate must not exceed 120 percent of the normal rate. When the heart rate reaches the maximum limit you should slow down till it normalizes before you begin to jog again.

Fat Loss through Interval Training

Among the many ways to lose weight, fat loss through interval training is the best. This is a combination of jogging at a fast pace till the heart rate increases and then slowing down to a comfortable pace till the heart rate normalizes and then starting all over again. This process must continue for at least one hour every day. This switching over from fast to slow exercising is known as “interval training” and is a great way to lose weight and is also a great way to exercise.

  • To burn more calories you need to exercise.
To burn fat, you need to burn more calories than you consume.

Good way of tracking exercise is to pay close attention to heart and breathing rates.
Good way to prevent over eating of calories is to fill up on vegetables and water.

How did you lose the weight!? How can I lose the weight!?

I am having hard time losing weight. I am 14 and want to wear a bikini for the summer. But I am like 160 pounds, 37 inches around my stomach, and a size XL in clothes. I am a vegetarian and only drink water. I don''t eat lunch I just have a snack. Like an yogurt. For dinner I have salad and fruit for breakfast. I try to run a mile every (other) day. Nothing is working I started this at the start of the year. I am trying to work out my abbes too. I also go to the gym. So what can I do? How did you lose the weight?

Why Losing Weight Fast is Bad!

Recommended Answer:
Well the first problem is your diet. You should eat at least six times a day. By not eating or eating too small portions of food too far from each other its causing your metabolism to slow down. To increase your metabolic rate you need to eat six small meals a day starting at about 7 am and eating your last meal at 8pm. Breakfast can be a low fat smoothie. followed later with a fruit as a snack ( since you are a vegetarian I would suggest eating a handfull of nuts). Lunch can be a slice of brown bread with low fat cheese spread. Make a shake for a snack between dinner and lunch. (if you can buy a weigh loss shake or a cereal bar one made for losing weight). For dinner eat steamed veggies and potato. And then for a snack at 8pm you get weight loss instant pudding. Remember that you need to consume protein the size of your palm and the thickness of your palm every day. So eat any other source of protein. Do exercise on an empty stomach, this will optimize the ammount of fat that will be burnt. Drink 2 glasses of water before every meal. Instead of just doing cardio exercises, try finishing all your exercises with a 30min cardio exercise (30mins is the minimum ammount of cardio you should be able to do). The only way you will get in shape for summer is if you suck it up and do more exercise. Eat healthy.

You can expect:
The first 4 weeks not to finish all your 6 meals. Since your body is used to being fed at irregular times.
You will crave foods like chocolate ect, because ypur body is used to taking in a large ammount of fat food that it will need more.
In the first for weeks you will also see a dramatic weight loss which will slowly decrease. (that is if you do exercise every day and not cheat)

Check out this site www.usn.co.za for the diet and exercise program . Click on the body make over link. You dont need to use the supplements, just do the exercises and eat right.

  • I used to weigh the same as you... Now I weigh 106. My secret you ask? Not eating... I have an eating disorder. However, DO NOT EVER STARVE YOURSELF TO LOSE WEIGHT! I learned that the hard way. Anyways, eating 3 small, healthy, meals a day actually increases your metabolism which makes weight loss easier. So don''t skip lunch! Bad idea. You''re working out, which is good. Remember to limit your calorie intake that is appropriate for you. (Around 2,000-2,5000 calories a day.) Stay hydrated! Good luck! :)
  • Here''s your problem. You are not eating enough. Your body will go into starvation mode if it senses it is not getting enough food. It will cling to the fat that you have and won''t let go until you eat adequate amounts of food. The proper way to eat and keep the metabolism going is to eat 6 times a day . Yes six. See when you wake up in the morning you have gone all night long without food. Your body has literally been fasting for 8 hours or however long you slept. During this time food breakdown is at its lowest cause the body doesn''t know when it might eat again. It needs food to get it started ( that''s why it''s called breakfast. You are literally breaking the fast). That''s why breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It jump starts your metabolism and says to your body alright lets start breaking down this food for energy. The biggest energy source is carbs. That''s why carbs are better to eat in the morning you''ll burn them all day long. The more frequently you eat during the day the more you are keeping your metabolism going and burning food for energy. You should eat three meals and three snacks a day. Make your food choices good though. Junk food is not good fuel for the body. Salads are ok but don''t provide you with enough nutrients. Lean protein, tuna, avocado and nuts are real good examples of food to eat. Running is great but you need to couple that with weight lifting. I cannot stress this enough. Lift weights. You will not get buff you will not look manly TRUST ME. You really have to work at that and dedicate your life to end up looking manly. Lifting weights provide curves to your body. Have you ever seen a skinny person that still looked sickly because they have no tone or curves? It''s bc they are not lifting. Trust me, Victoria secret models lift weights. It gives the curves and the beach body you are looking for. It worked for me. Listen to your body, eat healthy and exercise. Stop with the diets they will get you nowhere
