Okay so for almost a month now I stopped drinking soda and started drink a lot of water. I am only eating small portions for lunch and diner and I don't eat breakfast I know I should but I'm just not hungry when I get up in the morning until like 10 or 11am and that's when I have lunch. I also stop eating fast food and deserts and anything I don't need, do you think this will work for me to loss like 35 pounds?? Thank you!! and if you have any tips for better weight loss that would be great:)

  • Hey yeah I have done exactly what you've been doing, LOL! I understand about breakfast too, it's the holiday and we are teenagers! (You are, right?) so basically we get up late ha-ha it's like the law! But do try to eat breakfast soon, maybe you go to school soon like me? In that case just eat breakfast before you go to school but while on holiday I guess it's inevitable you will miss breakfast. Anyway your routine seems really good, you're not starving yourself an your not eating bad stuff, so it's a win win! I lost 7 lbs in around 2-3 weeks but I did go back to my old self some days and eat bad stuff and therefore gain some, so I guess you can lose that easily if you don't keep relapsing like me, lol. You will lose 35 pounds if you stick at it, don't forget exercise! You have to if you want to lose weight. But yeah I'd say you can lose it in 6 months please don't think that's bad because that is amazing to lose in 6 months, in fact it might still be unhealthy losing that much weight in 6 months but I think it's not too bad so good luck, that's 5 stone in 6 months how great would that be?! and here are some weight loss tips:1) Eat in smaller portions, so you eat less! 2) If you are eating smaller portions, put it on smaller plates, this awesomely tricks the mind into thinking you have ate a bigger meal and you're full up, so you eat less! 3) Also leave a bit on the plate at the end, it helps think you are full up4) Set specific times to eat/workout, like lunch at 12pm snack at 2pm and Dinner at 5pm5) Eat like 5-6 smaller meals a day, so breakfast, then fruit for snack, salad for lunch, fruit or yogurt or bread for snack then dinner and maybe another snack later on 6) Count the calories, a good site is fitness pal, you can log the exact foods you eat and it counts calories, fat, sugar and like everything, it even tells you how much you will lose if you do that meal every day! 7) Do not snack at night, not even after 7/8pm because it won't digest and your body might store it as fat overnight as you don't burn it off 8) Chew food slowly and enjoy it! If you eat mindlessly and not concentrating on enjoying it, and eating to fast, one you can get really bad stomach ache and two you just get hungry again9) In addition to the last point, eat at the table or somewhere quiet, not by the t.v or while doing work, because you aren't enjoying and digesting properly and get hungry again!10) Eat LOADS of fruit and veg, they're basically so healthy and give you all the nutrients you need, like literally the best thing to eat, you might not be a massive fan but it works and you don't put any weight on from them!11) Only eat when you are hungry, not when you want food while watching a film or never comfort eat out of guilt or something12) Do not starve yourself or restrict the food intake by a lot, because you will put it back on anyway cause your body stores any food it does have as fat so you put on all the weight you lose!13) Drink water, it is like the magic drink, it has nothing bad in whatsoever, it's literally health liquid! Try to drink 8 glasses full and cold is best. Water has the ability to fill you up so you don't get hungry, also raises your mood and is good for your insides. Cold water is best because your body has to use calories to warm it up before digesting. You may find you put on a couple pounds if you drink, loads, but will lose like twice as much after!14) Brush teeth! If you brush your teeth after a meal even if you're hungry you won't be able to eat cause if you are like me you hate the taste of food when your teeth are minty and everything!15) Chew gum, it helps the mind think it's eating and stop from being hungry16) Exercise obviously! An early morning run or walk will be good and help you lose loads, also maybe go to a gym? Only if you want though, walking and running does the same thing!17) Don't drink full fat soft drinks, they are LOADED with calories and sugar, you are literally drinking liquid calories that will not quench your thirst and basically cause so much weight gain18) Remind yourself how much you want to lose and how badly you want to get there! 19) Don't limit all fat and sugar from your diet, otherwise there can be some serious health risks and also you won't be getting a balanced diet20) DON'T STOP. even when you have reached your goal keep going, live on a healthy lifestyle, just eat goodies occasionally. Hope this helps took me ages to write lol but if I am helping someone I'm happy!Good luck x

Will eating two meals a day affect my weight loss and fitness journey?

Before you get the wrong idea, I'm not trying to starve myself in anyway. I'm a 15 year old girl who is currently trying to have a change of lifestyle to be healthier and fit. About a week ago, I decided that it was time to stop lazying around and get fit. As I began to exercise more (about 30 minutes to an hour), I noticed I have started to eat less. For example, today. I woke up a bit later than usual and decided that I would exercise later rather than first thing in the morning. So I had my breakfast and then 4 hours later (after a long mental debate) I began to exercise. I finished at about 2 hours later. Then I had my lunch (which was actually dinner). I always read that for healthier weight loss, you should eat 5-6 small meals a day. Is how I'm eating bad, or should I continue to go on like this? Also, how big should a meal be? Thanks.

How to Lose Weight & Keep a Healthy Looking Face

Recommended Answer:

So, for the normal person, 2 - 3 meals per day is fine. A body builder or someone who is really training hard will eat 5-6 small meals a day.Onto your questions. Eating two meals a day is good and bad and here is why:People think that eating two meals means skipping the third. That is when it is bad. Instead, eat a high protein breakfast (Eggs, Bacon, Milk, ect...). You will be pretty full for a while and your metabolism will get a good kick start. For lunch, eat something like a quesadilla or turkey sandwich. For dinner, eat something small at your discression. The problem with dinner is most people think "I ate so well all day and worked out, I deserve a good, big meal now". While honestly you do deserve it, it doesn't work like that. You will lose all of your gains if you eat a big meal from Arby's. If you are going to eat a big meal, make it a sandwich shop (Subway) or pasta (Fazolis). If you eat carbs you can burn them easily unlike fat from a burgerHope I helped!

Other Answers:

  • Eating more meals does not help with weight loss. Its just the overall calories for the day that matters. If you want to eat 2 meals a day that's fine just make sure they are bigger meals so you get in enough calories.
  • Yes, 5-6 small meals is way better than 2 big ones. Of course when I talk about small meals, I'm talking about healthy snacks, salads with steak, fruits, these kind of meals. If you give your stomach small healthy meals, it will start burning the food more efficiently and as fruits and greens take more energy to assimilate, it will help you lose more weight than a food that's easy to decompose and store (as fat) for energy - like sugar based food, bread, pasta, etc.. Makes sense? If your body knows it's getting food regularly, it will stop believing it needs to store fat for "rainy days" and your metabolism will be boosted (this is the reason some people get away with eating a lot and never get fat - their machine is working better; for some people it's genes for others is the result of a carefully planned meal plan).

How can I lose weight effectively and as quickly as possible?

Hi. I need an honest, helpful answer. I''m 14, 5''7'''', and I weigh 164 lbs. I''d like to lose a few pounds because I have a little belly fat. It''s almost summer and that should say a lot. I won''t get out of control and go all Bulimic, just a few pounds. What should I eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? (Easy recipes, please.)

How to Lose Weight?

Recommended Answer:
When you have to lose 40, 50 or even 100 pounds or more then losing the weight becomes a monumental task! How can you safely lose weight?

There are many ideas out there about this topic. Bottom line - if you expect to drop weight (and a lot of it) quickly and without much effort then forget it. It won''t happen. Yes, there are people out there that have lost a lot of weight on crash or fad diets but what do they look like now? If you expect some magic answer or magic pill to take your excess weight away then be prepared to be disappointed. Statistically you will gain all your weight back and probably a lot more. In the end you will be no further ahead than when you started. Don''t fall for the gimmicks. Here are the basics on how to lose weight effectively.

1. Try to avoid food that contains a lot of "fat" (Trans fat, total fat).

2. Try to do a little bit of exercise (whatever makes it fun: swimming, walking, jogging). 10-15 minutes a day is a good start.

3. DO NOT avoid all "fat" in the food.

4. Limit yeast intake for approximately 6 weeks then slowly introduce back into your diet a little at a time.

5. Don''t fall for fancy advertising, magic pills, or quick solutions!

6. Keep a journal of EVERYTHING you eat for at least 2 weeks (1 month if possible). Be honest. What you learn about yourself will amaze you.

7. Begin your weight loss journey in small steps.

8. STOP eating candy, chips, soda/pop, "junk food", "fast food", etc immediately.

9. You need a well thought out plan to follow with goals.

10. Make a commitment to yourself that you are motivated to lose weight THIS TIME!

There is no way to lose weight effectively and safely that doesn''t require commitment, dedication and a strong desire from you. The faster and easier you lose weight, the faster you will gain it back. Give yourself 1/2 year to lose 20 lbs maximum, 1 year to lose 40 lbs and so on. Consistency is the key to safe and effective weight loss AND in keeping it off in the long term.

  • For one month, follow a low carb diet. Take a multivitamin, too.

Would you consider this a good diet plan or should I add/subtract some foods.?

I''m aiming to lose about 20-40 pounds by summer time and have devised a diet plan. I''ve started this a couple of days ago and am planning on continuing for at least 5 months. Please let me know if you think it is good enough or if I should add or subtract any foods.

Meal #1 - Either a bowl of oatmeal or a bowl of granola + a banana or orange + a cup of green tea
Meal #2 - Either a bowl of tuna w/ mustard & pepper or a bowl of rice with chopped veggies
Meal #3 - Either a bowl of tuna w/ mustard & pepper or a peanut butter sandwich + a cup of yogurt
Meal #4 - A bowl of almonds (5-10) & walnuts (2-4) + a banana

I''d greatly appreciate any helpful answers. Thank You

What is the Fastest Way to Lose Weight?

Recommended Answer:
Seems pretty effective for weight loss for the most part, but their is definitely room for improvement. In meal one I suggest that you stick with oatmeal, because granola high in fat and sugar, and also can be addictive, because it is so tasty. or you can try barley which is similar to oatmeal in terms of taste and health. If you want the most effective diet in terms of weight loss, I suggest you stay away from bread as a whole and get your carbs from helathier and less starchy sources such as brown rice, oatmeal, barley, and healthy cereals that are low in sugar and high in fiber. Also finding alternatives to tuna as a main source of protein in your diet will help you stick to it. Such alternatives could be canned clam meat, egg whites, beef jerky, beans etc. You may need to add a little bit more calcium in your diet, and that can easily be done by adding more yogurt or fat free cottage cheese to the meal plan. But to warn you some yogurts even ones that are marked as healthy are high in sugar and if you have a hunger impulse , and they are stocked up in the fridge they may not last. So anyway hope this helps and good luck with your diet, and stay true to it as possible, but I definetlydo recomend that you do some research.

  • a diet is nothing without exercize!

peanut butter is kind of bad for you-SOO much fat. also carbs. if carbs arent used up, they are stored as FAT! instead go for protein. unused protein is just pooped out
also make sure its GREEK yogurt, it has more protein
alsoo remember celery and pickles are 0 cal wink wink winkkk
  • You might get tired of tuna after a while so i would recomend throwing in any type of lean meat like chicken for a substitute! Other than that it sounds good - remember to drink 8 glasses of water a day! Good Luck!
  • in addition to that I exercise by doing 10 repetitions of heavy weights. 11 exercises in 15 minutes 3x a week at 50 I was out of shape lost 35 lbs by cutting sweets and carbs.

Go over calories one day, still lose weight?

Do you think it's to horrible that I went over by 206 today? I did 40 minutes of cardio today. I have not gone over my calories at all in the past 2 1/2-3 weeks and I have been eating really healthy, but I did today b/c we had pizza for dinner tonight. So will going 206 calories over for just today mess up my weight loss? Thanks.

Foods to Lose Weight Healthily

Recommended Answer:
You probably burned that many calories with the cardio so you probably didn't gain anything, but you definitely didn't lose anything today either. You gotta treat yourself every once in a while and you did great with just 200 calories. Just keep up with the exercise and keep eating healthy!! You'll be fine. can I ask how much you lost so far? I'm just curious because I'm losing weight right now too.

  • One day is not that bad just don't go over constantly and keep working towards your goal.
  • No, of course not. I think having a cheat meal is a good way to keep on eating healthy. If you can't splurge every once in a while it becomes very boring.

A pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories, so your 40 minutes of cardio takes care of your 200 calories.

How do you lose weight/fat really fast?

I really don't care if its unhealthy, I just can't do this anymore. I need to lose this weight, I just need to lose 20 lbs.

  • Stick to a healthy diet, or you'll regret it.

I'm no professional, but here are a few tips:

-Drink LOTS of water. No fuzzy drinks, or even juices, since they contain lots of sugar. I'd say you can allow yourself to drink juices for breakfast only.
Also, drink Green Tea, it quickens your metabolism.

-Eat a big, healthy breakfast. The more you fill yourself up in the morning, the less you'll feel the need to eat later on. Also, you're bound to lose the weight you've gained in the morning rather than at night since I doubt you do any physical activity at that time.

-Exercise. It sucks, but a food diet won't work unless you exercise a lot. No, you don't need a membership at the gym. Set yourself goals. Walk up and down your staircase a certain number of times everyday, or do 100 jumping jacks, push-ups, pull-ups, whatever you're capable of doing. Go for a jog.

-Cut down your portions. No taking seconds, make sure you fill your plate with a regular amount of food. Once you're full, stop eating. The kids in Africa will not be able to eat the food off your plate if you didn't finish it anyways.

-This one's obvious, but watch what you eat. No candy, no cake, cupcakes, cookies, chips, whatever. Dark chocolate is okay but don't consume too much.

-Make your own lunches. Try not to eat out. Whatever you make yourself is bound to healthier and less caloric.

-Don't give into peer pressure! If your friends decide they want a double bacon cheeseburger for lunch that does not mean you need to have one too.

These are the only things I can think of from the top of my head right now. Take in account all these factors and it may just help improve your weight and your health. :)

How many calories would be safe for me?

I'm anorexic and gained a lot of weight because of upping my calories(not on purpose). I don't know why but only when I started upping my calories I began to have bad chest pains, shortness of breath( I mean was going up and down with my calories and upping my exercise). I want to lose weight but I don't know how many calories would be safe for me to START losing weight. I'm eventually going to start eating right but only when i lose the weight. How many calories would be a good start

Tips on How to Lose Weight Fast for the New Year

Recommanded Answer:
The exact number depends on your activity amount. Somewhere in the range of 1200 to 2000 for most people. I go for around 1500 but really don't pay much attention to number of calories. I pay more attention to how much total carbohydrates, how much oil, how much sugar, and protein. I used to measure but now just eyeball the quantities. I pinch my belly fat and if its over 1/2 inch, I cut back a little on portion sizes. It seems to me the easiest and therefore the best approach to weight loss is accepting that a very gradual loss is the best strategy. A person harms their body and their emotional strength if they try to achieve too quickly.

I eat a lot of high fiber, low calories density food (meaning fruits and vegetables). They give you a feeling of fullness and decrease hunger and food cravings. Plus they are nutritious and health promoting.

Are cherry Slurpee's okay to drink if you are trying to lose weight?

I'm trying to lose at least 100 pounds before my high school graduation which is a year from now. I'm 284 pounds right now. I'm cutting back from pop and junk food. Are cherry slurpee's okay for a snack? I'm just wondering.

Simple Tips To Lose Weight And Burn Calories

Recommanded Answer:
Absolutely not. .... no other answer.. You want to lose 100lbs, get serious about it. You gained the weight by overeating too many carbs (energy), which your body then stored as fat.

Try this.... for 10 days...look at everything you eat. .. if it has carbs/sugar.....put it down. ...keep it at less than 30gms a day. ... eat whatever else you want doesn't matter. ... eat enough not to be hungry. On the 10th night eat heavy carbs. ...slurpee.. donuts. ... cakes. ... cookies. ... rice. ... pasta. ...on day 11.... go back to less than 30gms I f carbs. ... then on night 7.... heavy carbs again. ... and repeat.... week after week for 6 months max..... take 1 month off.... then start again. Drink 120oz of water daily. ..

Good luck

  • It's the same as pop as far as nutrition, so no. Opt for fruits or nuts as a snack instead.
  • A good rule of thumb is that if you're great great grandmother wouldn't recognize it as food, don't eat it.

If it comes out of a machine or comes in a wrapper, don't eat it. Eat "natural foods," fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, bread, nuts, legumes. Stuff that people ate 100 years ago. Nothing processed.
  • Not Really they are just sugar drinks and sugar converts to fat so I wouldn't drink them everyday. Perhaps 1 every 2 weeks for a treat , that's it. Good Luck losing weight :)

Best Exercise to Lose Weight For You

Recommanded Answer:
Try to eat less but more throughout the day if that makes sense. Don't skip meals it anything that'll make things worse. Eat regularly and way things like grilled chicken, salmon, boiled or grilled veg. Don't make it feel like a diet, that'll just make it harder. Eating an apple in the evening can speed up your metabolism as well as exercise. The exercise really depends on you I guess. There's the gym or you could do sports or take classes. Jogging or running is nice because you could go early or late when there isn't many people about and you can go at your own pace. But to really shift the weight you should have a cardio based workout so running is good but anything that really makes you sweat. Like, dripping with it. Remember to keep active and always keep moving. It sounds stupid or obvious but if you don't generally move about a lot your metabolism will be like a snails. Before exercising eat good carb filled food for slow release energy. And drink LOTS of water. At all times. Trust me.

  • eat less
  • There are all kinds of ideas out there. I'm trying to lose weight, too, and I've tried many different things. I'd say do little things, one at a time. For example, I started out giving up one thing I really like - staying up late. I found that I snacked way too much late at night, and then I'd go right to bed. I have a treadmill that has been mostly used as anything but a treadmill, but I'm trying now to get on it at least twice a week, just for 10 minutes or so. It helps to have some music to get along with it. Good luck!

How fast will I lose weight?

I weigh 165 pounds right now, I'm 6' tall almost 6'1". As of several months ago I weighed 183 pounds, but I gradually dropped to 165 over the last couple months. I don't know why, I didn't change my diet or workouts at all. What I'm wondering is. I plan on starting to run/speed walk a couple few miles a day, I eat around 900-1400 calories per day any more, as of a few months ago it was much more. How quickly should I start to lose weight? And how much do you think I'll lose? I have a small layer of fat over my stomach/ab area, that I REALLY want to get rid of. How quickly do you think that will go away. Thanks.
Oh and I have 9% body fat, I'm not sure if that is important.

Lose Weight, No Sweat!

Recommanded Answer:
If you burn 500 more calories than you eat every day for a week, you should lose about 1-2 pounds.
If you want to lose weight faster, you'll need to eat less and exercise more.
For instance, if you take in 1,050 to 1,200 calories a day, and exercise for one hour per day, you could lose 3-5 pounds in the first week, or more if you weigh more than 250 pounds. It's very important not to cut calories any further -- that's dangerous.
Limiting salt and starches may also mean losing more weight at first -- but that's mostly fluids, not fat.
When you reduce sodium and cut starches, you reduce fluids and fluid retention, which can result in up to 5 pounds of fluid loss when you get started.

  • very fast
  • That is a really hard one to answer - very individual and lots of variables.

Water weight fluctuations can hide / show weight loss for example.

Something to think about might be to do use a couple of measurements (waist, thigh, etc) along with a scale weight. Gives you another metric to track. When losing weight - it is usually best to give any changes a few weeks to assess any real impact.

Also, make sure you are drinking at least a gallon of water per day. Long term that will make a significant impact.

    Good luck.
