How many calories would be safe for me?

I'm anorexic and gained a lot of weight because of upping my calories(not on purpose). I don't know why but only when I started upping my calories I began to have bad chest pains, shortness of breath( I mean was going up and down with my calories and upping my exercise). I want to lose weight but I don't know how many calories would be safe for me to START losing weight. I'm eventually going to start eating right but only when i lose the weight. How many calories would be a good start

The exact number depends on your activity amount. Somewhere in the range of 1200 to 2000 for most people. I go for around 1500 but really don't pay much attention to number of calories. I pay more attention to how much total carbohydrates, how much oil, how much sugar, and protein. I used to measure but now just eyeball the quantities. I pinch my belly fat and if its over 1/2 inch, I cut back a little on portion sizes. It seems to me the easiest and therefore the best approach to weight loss is accepting that a very gradual loss is the best strategy. A person harms their body and their emotional strength if they try to achieve too quickly.

I eat a lot of high fiber, low calories density food (meaning fruits and vegetables). They give you a feeling of fullness and decrease hunger and food cravings. Plus they are nutritious and health promoting.
