How to Lose Weight Using a Treadmill

Recommended Answer:

It's different for everyone and every pregnancy, no one can tell you exactly when it will happen for you. I didn't start showing until I was 23 weeks pregnant and I was skinny as well.

Other Answers:

  • I didn't start showing til about the 4th month with both of my daughters.
  • It's fluid retention (bloating) and alittle weight gain. Bloating usually dissapears into the second trimester. I too was small before I got pregnant. You could start showing in the next 1-2months, maybe later. There's no telling really. I always thought my stomach was too large for how many weeks I was, but since I started showing properly just recently everywhere I go people say I'm small and my next door neighbour didn't even know I was pregnant until my mother told her a few days ago and my friends say I'm all belly, but I don't know I think differently, How you perceive yourself is different to how everyone else perceives you.
  • Yes it can be food weight. Most people start to pop between 12-16 weeks, sometimes even later if its your first pregnancy. My first pregnancy I started to pop between 15-16 weeks. This time I started to get a belly around 12 weeks. If you're skinny and eating a lot, the belly you're starting to get could be from regular weight gain.
  • Probably not till your 5-6 month especially if its your first pregnancy

How can I lose weight safely and effectively without going into starvation mode?

Let's start with my basic info :I'm a 16 year old girl, I'm 5"9 feet tall and weight 216 lbs, which is considered obese. At the begining of this month I realized that I really wanted to lose weight when a kid called me fat. So, I signed up with MyFitnessPal and started doing some Elliptical speed walking for 20 mins, then 30 then 45 minutes 5 days a week. Also, I started eating 1500 calories a day. How to Lose Weight Without Cardio

Recommended Answer:

Before every meal, drink water. That will make the food you eat filling at it helps burn calories a LOT faster. With that, 3-4 times a week, work out. I suggest doing a 10 minute work out, where you do any exercise for 30 seconds each, and in between take a 10 second water break. Skip dinner, not breakfast. Breakfast gives you the energy you need for the day, and keep your metabolism going. Eat lots of fruit and veggies and get lots of 'beauty' sleep. Hope that helped!

How do I make my hair grow faster?

I've heard getting your hair cut every six weeks is good to get all the split ends off. But, after I read one site said, no it doesn't(http://www.oprah.com/style/Biggest-Hair-Myths-Do-Frequent-Trims-Make-Hair-Grow-Faster). I also didn't understand if getting the split ends cut off frequently help your hair to grow, how does it grow faster if your hair grows from your scalp?I heard that some spice can help hair grow, do you know what it is?

How to Lose the Flab After Losing Weight

There are a variety of spices that you can use to make you hair grow faster. Some of them are: Cinnamon, Cloves, Ginger, Garlic, and Turmeric. Here is website with more information:http://www.howtomakeyourhairgrowfaster.com/indian-spices-for-healthy-hair-growth.htmlAnd based off of my own personal experience, getting your hair cut every month or every two months does NOT make your hair grow faster. I would recommend getting it cut every 5 or 6 months, but BE SURE TO KEEP YOU HAIR IN SHAPE. This prevents split ends. If you get lots of split ends, you'll HAVE to get it cut for it to grow. This is what I do to keep my hair in shape:You'll want to invest in a good shampoo and conditioner. I use a daily hair leave-in treatment every time I shower, which moisturizes my hair and prevents split ends. You usually have to keep it on for 3-5 minutes. The shampoo I use is called Biotera, it's relatively inexpensive, around $6.50. Also, Whenever I use heat on my hair, I make sure to use a good heat protectant and I try to avoid using any kind of hair product that is not natural because the chemicals can cause split ends. I would definitely recommend Moroccan Argan Oil, it's natural and it makes my hair really smooth. Any kind of natural oil is good, especially if you want to get rid of frizz. But please, stay away from all of the harsh chemicals.Be sure to eat a balanced diet, exercise, and drink plenty of water. A vitamin you can take to help keep your hair healthy is called Biotin. You can get it at Walmart pretty inexpensively. I hope I helped! :)

  • Because if your ends have alot of split ends and are brittle , they tend to break off & your hair won't seem to grow that fast because it keeps breaking off. Coconut oil is good for your ends & promote hair growth
  • ive been using mane n tails shampoo and it has been helping my hair grow a bunch...i didnt think it was gonna work so now im hooked on it...i hope i helped in some way =)
  • a balanced diet is the way to start. i know you may not want to hear this but your body needs nutrients. i learned to make hair grow faster you have to be able to keep whatever hair you have on your head ! prevent shedding and provide the best medium for hair to grow. you can try products like My Hair Rx which is proven to speed up hair growth. its like hair on steroids. but it stops the shedding to and also promotes hair growth. check them out on wiki how and check out the reviews. also stop messing with your hair! that means brushing it a million times per day. and finally keep yourself hydrated
  • Massage your scalp every day with a good herbal hair oil like Mira hair oil, just 10 minutes massage a day will help you grow your hair fast like weeds

How to Eat at McDonald''s and Still Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
The whole notion of restrictive dieting and exercising to lose weight is terribly misguided. Not only doesn''t it work, in the long run it causes more weight gain because it damages the metabolism.

It''s so obvious--you can''t keep dieting all the time, month after month, year after year. You simply can''t keep undereating and denying your body what it needs. And when you stop, you gain the weight back, and usually a little more. People don''t stop to wonder why, if dieting works, women seem to be constantly dieting or thinking about dieting or search for diets that work.

Most overweight is not caused by overeating. It''s caused by various dietary factors that change the body''s metabolism over a long period of time. Many of these factors have to do with the processed food we eat--for example, the cheap and unhealthy vegetable oils that are used in virtually all processed foods nowadays.

The simple truth is that most of the nutritional info that comes through the media is wrong. It has the long-term effect of lowering the metabolism--the body''s functioning--and causing weight problems. The only way to normalize weight is to normalize the body''s functioning so that it stops storing fat. And this can''t be done via the low-fat, low-calorie, heavy on the fruit and veggies diets that so many people think are healthy.

If you want to learn how to do this, my recommendation is to go to 180degreehealth.com and get one of the metabolism packages.

  • Try Zumba!!!
Many people already try this.. Its actually enjoyable....
  • I know its sounds weird but... I use just dance 4 on just sweat mode.
I''m serious its constant songs dancing and strecthing which equals constant workout and in between I did some sit up I thonk it was twenty I di it very often it works!
P,ease answer my question. :) hope I helped
  • ZUMBA!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • When I was obese, I just started going for walks around my neighborhood. I wasn''t in the physical condition necessary to do anything strenuous. As I lost weight, I started walking farther away from my house. I picked up my pace. Eventually I started using a treadmill so that I can up the intensity and speed of my walks. Then I started spinning and doing some strength training.

My advice is don''t go hardcore at once. There''s no need. You can lose weight simply by dieting. Take it slow, but challenge yourself when it starts to get easy.
  • Try making small changes in your daily lives, do things you will enjoy and try to eat healthier. Be more active. Losing weight is not that hard, find things that motivate you.Without motivation it''s very hard to lose weight. There is no secret... Eat healthy and exercise and don''t give up. Good luck!! (:

How to gain weight and how to keep it on and stay toned with it.?

4 Simple Tips On How To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
In order to gain toned weight, you will have to consider doing the right workout, sleeping well everyday as well as eating a high enough calorie diet to give you the energy you want. Here is how I personally teach to my female clients at the gym.

The key thing about diet is to eat more calories. This does not mean you feed yourself huge meals 3 times a day. This will lead to indigestion, gastric pains and other digestive complications because there is only so much your body can digest at one time. The idea is to eat more meals a day, preferably 6. This can be difficult if you are on the move all day like I'm so I suggest just stick to your 3 meals like you do but bring a long a liter of milk with you before you leave the house. Drink 500ml of milk in between each of your meal and finish the last dose 2 hours after dinner. This will provide the extra calories you need to gain weight. If after a week your weight is still not going up, simply increase the amount of milk you drink by 100ml and stick to your normal portions for your normal meals. Keep doing this until you gain the weight you need to. You should be putting on roughly a pound a week in my opinion. Once you gotten 2-3 pounds, it is time to focus on getting the right workout to help you build muscles and ensure that your body gain weight more steadily.

The best workout to do in order to grow muscle mass in terms of size is to do a high weight low repetition workout called hypertrophy. This will adjust your muscles to use the food you eat as the main source of energy rather than oxygen like smaller muscles do. If you are starting out to gain muscle mass, perhaps you should download the program at http://gohforth.com. This program has been extremely effective for me personally and also benefited my clients very well.

One thing that many people miss out is the fact that sleep is extremely important to help you gain weight and maintain a strong immune system. This is because when you stay up late, have interrupted sleep cycle or not enough hours of rest, you will burn more calories throughout the day and this means that you have to eat more or risk loosing weight. This is made worse if your metabolism is like mine in the past and this will probably mean you will lose up to 3-4 pounds in a week due to poor quality sleep. The road is long and tough, but as long as your stick by the 3 things which is a high calorie diet, sleep well and do the right workout regime, you will see roughly a 1 pound of muscle weight gain a week. I hoped I have helped you.

Can't reach my goal weight, advice?

I am 5'5 -5'6 and I weigh 124. (Amazingly) I've already lost 35 lbs over 9-10 months.

But I am stuck now. My goal is 120. And all I want is to say I reached my goal. I've accomplished my goal. I just can't settle at the 124 mark.

I've tried so many different exercises daily. But I am at a brick wall.
Any advice to beat this plateau?
Thanks!

How Thai Food Can Help You Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
I got stuck at around 120 lbs in my last plateau (I'm a bit shorter than you). So I tried calorie cycling. After a prolonged time at eating a low calorie intake your BMR lowers and your metabolism slows to that amount. So the theory behind calorie cycling is that it wakes up your metabolism and confuses it.
I tried it and actually raised my calories back up (I had dropped from 1400 to 1200 cals for 6 wks and then got stuck) to an avg of 1400 cals and calorie cycled around that number. It's been 2 weeks now and I lost another 5 lbs!

I was a bit skeptical about it at first but have heard so many people including bodybuilders and fitness models raving about it so I thought I'd give it a go and it worked! You can use this calculator to figure out a plan. You have to calculate your daily calorie intake and then it will give you the option of choosing a calorie cycling plan (zig zag diet plan): http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

Lose Weight, No Sweat!

Recommended Answer:
This is a difficult question to answer, only because what is "healthy" often is dictated by needs. For someone trying to get in shape versus someone who is diabetic. If you're looking for just good general health, it would seem to me this diet lacks vitamin c (which the pumpkin has very little of) and vitamin d. If you're not body building, I wouldn't recommend a daily intake of red meat.

Which nuts? Different nuts have different nutritional value.
http://www.health-alternatives.com/nut-seed-nutrition-chart.html

In any case, 1 cup of nuts is certainly a decent amount of fats. Could be improved by exchanging the meat for chicken and fish. Adding in vegetables and a small serving of fruit, such as apple, banana or orange would improve the diet. A daily cup of milk or soy milk for vitamin d. A cup of OJ or apple juice for Vitamin C.

That sounds like an insane amount of water. Recommended is 8 cups. There is such a thing as too much water. Whoever is drinking that much must be running to the toilet constantly.

  • Breakfast: Replace the bread with a bowl of oatmeal (not the instant sugar kind) add your own fresh fruit, seeds, nuts or nut butter, yogurt, egg whites, spices.

Lunch: Add some protein and only use 1 slice of a really grainy bread or whole grain tortilla.

Dinner: Replace the steak with grilled chicken, fish/seafood or turkey (even pork once in awhile, tenderloins are the best and lowest in saturated fat). Some legumes, whole grain pasta (like quinoa) or brown/wild rice and veggies.

Snack. Is fine. Maybe add some Greek yogurt with your fruit for some added protein and cut back on the fruit. 1/4 cup. Cut back on the nuts too. You don't need a cup of nut, they may have healthy fat but it appears you're already getting too much fat in your diet.

Edit: I read this was for a project after I wrote it out. So I was referring to "you" the entire time. ;)
  • As I always a balance diet is important.
Right amount of calories and vegetables, proteins.
It is important to note certain vegetables that will help you burn fat.

Are cherry Slurpee's okay to drink if you are trying to lose weight?

I'm trying to lose at least 100 pounds before my high school graduation which is a year from now. I'm 284 pounds right now. I'm cutting back from pop and junk food. Are cherry slurpee's okay for a snack? I'm just wondering.

Simple Tips To Lose Weight And Burn Calories

Recommanded Answer:
Absolutely not. .... no other answer.. You want to lose 100lbs, get serious about it. You gained the weight by overeating too many carbs (energy), which your body then stored as fat.

Try this.... for 10 days...look at everything you eat. .. if it has carbs/sugar.....put it down. ...keep it at less than 30gms a day. ... eat whatever else you want doesn't matter. ... eat enough not to be hungry. On the 10th night eat heavy carbs. ...slurpee.. donuts. ... cakes. ... cookies. ... rice. ... pasta. ...on day 11.... go back to less than 30gms I f carbs. ... then on night 7.... heavy carbs again. ... and repeat.... week after week for 6 months max..... take 1 month off.... then start again. Drink 120oz of water daily. ..

Good luck

  • It's the same as pop as far as nutrition, so no. Opt for fruits or nuts as a snack instead.
  • A good rule of thumb is that if you're great great grandmother wouldn't recognize it as food, don't eat it.

If it comes out of a machine or comes in a wrapper, don't eat it. Eat "natural foods," fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, bread, nuts, legumes. Stuff that people ate 100 years ago. Nothing processed.
  • Not Really they are just sugar drinks and sugar converts to fat so I wouldn't drink them everyday. Perhaps 1 every 2 weeks for a treat , that's it. Good Luck losing weight :)

Jade ( This is my dad's account)

How long until my body starts eating its own fat

5 foot 5 inches
165.1 pounds
200 cals or less a day
4 herbal diet pills a day (2 types, containing kelp, apple cider vinegar, b6, lecethin; white willow bark, caffeine.)
Water is the only liquid I consume.
Possibly starting interval training today on the treadmill.

When will my body FINALLY start to get rid of this ugly fat on my body? I've done this years ago and lost over 30 pounds. I'm not anorexic, I have control and will stop when I'm around 113 pounds.

Any other tips? Thank you.

Also, no hateful comments please. It is my body, my choice.

How Thai Food Can Help You Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
Bad way to do it.

1. You can't get sufficient micronutrients on 200 kcal per day.

2. Your body is always using a mix of fat and carbohydrates (glycogen) as fuel, but it can't run on fat alone. It can't convert fat that fast. If you stop eating altogether (200 calories is pretty much the same as not eating), your body starts consuming muscles and organs as well as fat. Do it long enough, brain damage can result. Your brain only uses carbohydrate fuel, not fat.

3. You can't do any sort of effective exercise once you've run through your glycogen stores. Ask any cyclist about "bonk", which is what happens when you run out of fuel. When that happens 10 miles from home, it ain't pretty. Been there done that.

Attempting interval training while starving yourself will only accelerate the damage.

4. You CAN train your body to use fat as fuel more efficiently via endurance training (like cyclists, marathoners, triathletes), but you can't do endurance training while starving yourself

Reasonable calorie restriction, plus exercise resulting in 1-2 pounds per week weight loss is the safe, sane, and healthy way to do it.

  • Not eating a whole day will make your stomach shrink and begin to eat its fat. I'm 14 I'm 5'5" and 116 I don't think you should be doing this I know it's your body but this is unhealthy you can loose weight by eating everyday meals but small portions less than. 200 calories your starving yourself "starve for perfection". If you want to talk inbox me . I'm not trying to be mean or anything it's just sad how people will do anything including starvation to loose weight I wish you luck and to always love your body

4 Simple Tips On How To Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
Yes, any increase in the exercise you do a day will help you lose weight faster. You may want to do a different type of workout for the 2nd 30 minutes, though. Your body eventually will get used to doing that type of workout, so you'll notice a significant decrease in weight loss after about 1-2 weeks if you continue to do the same thing. If you change up your workout routine and amount of time spent working out, your body will continue to burn calories at a much faster rate. Hope this helped and good luck!

  • I would stick to once a day for now to avoid over training, as you become more fit and capable you may want to add a second. Just remember that consistency is best.

How do you keep your body from "adapting" to your workout and diet?

Once I started losing weight and gaining muscle, after the initial "burst" there's the plateau where the weight loss slows and it's a little harder to make progress.

What can I do to minimize this plateau?
I train Monday and Thursdays upper body, abs and interval sprints.
Tuesday and Friday lower body, abs and resistance intervals (high resistance/low resistance intervals on stepper/eliptical).
Wednesday is full 1 hour endurance cardio.
Saturday is sports; basketball, hiking, swimming..whatever I want as long as I do something. (I usually take my daughter with me)
Sunday is rest, recovery or light exercise (active recovery).

My sessions run 60-71 minutes with at least 20 minutes of cardio.
My diet is a calorie cycling diet set for about 10000 calories a week. I've lost 14 pounds in 4 weeks and increased my weights by almost 20 pounds, so I'm making good progress, but this 4 week mark is where I start to stall and plateau. I don't want to let that plateau last more than a couple of weeks.

My ultimate goal is just being in good shape.....and consistent progress.

Six Simple Ways For You To Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
First, recognize that such plateaus are natural; most folks experience them.
Second.. The classic method is to cross train. Don't do the same thing all the time.
You don't say what you're doing, but if you're running try cycling or swimming, or circuit training at a gym... Whatever is available and piques your interest.
Also, doing intervals helps a lot of folks as the other contributor notes.

If you just go out and run at a steady pace for a given time... Try mixing it up. Throw in some sprints, climb a hill, go to a "parcourse" exercise course and work your way around that.

  • Change up your exercise routine. Keeps your body on its toes!
  • Mix up your workouts or try doing a circuit style workout. Jillian Michaels 3-2-1 circuits keep my body burning. I recommend the 30 Day Shred. It takes 20 minutes a day and the best part is the results. The video has 3 different levels which are on youtube. You don't need any special equipment or even a lot of space. Just enough to lay down for ab work or for push-ups.
  • Losing weight is one of main problem for some people. If you are one of them, there are many ways to lose weight, You can go to the gym, or control your diet. However, there is actually a medication for that. It is called the ACAI. ACAI is a world known preparation, which is used in order to help people lose excess weight. The preparation is 100% natural thus the possibility of side-effect appearance is very low. ACAI should be used in combination with a healthy diet and physical exercise in order to achieve the maximum effect. It is effective. You can get it at livehealthmart.com

Can drinking 64 oz of water a day help you lose weight?

If so how much? I'm trying to eat healthier and lose weight and I heard drinking a lot of water helps.

Recommanded Answer:
It's more that water doesn't have any calories and it will keep you filling more full so you won't snack as much. It does help with a lot of the body's process' but don't expect too much. Find an Enjoyable Exercise and keep it that way. Exercise if the far better half of " exercise and dieting", so many more benefits can be gained and weight loss will be faster and easier overall.

  • Drink 2 glasses of water the moment you get up, and 2 right before your meals. Also drink a glass in between meals :)
  • OMG! U r gorgeous damn pretty i want a relation with u plzz plz give me ur full details & wil giv u 2 bcx i want a relation with you!! PLZZZ well drink 2 glass of water before breakfast, lunch & dinner daily it will work 4 sure :) ;)
  • Yes, drinking lots of water is great. You can't eat too much if your tummy is already full of water. Good way to lose weight and keep your skin clear. A good plan would be:

Breakfast: low fat milk on cooked 9-grain cereal (from health food store), mixed with cooked oatmeal and wheat bran. Add some nuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine.

Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts and yogurt w/fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham or beef stew.

Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit: banana, orange, apple, kiwi, grapes, peach, nectarine, cherries, pineapple. No chips and nothing ever from a vending machine.

Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it.

Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.

Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes.

Foods to avoid: junk food, pastries, desserts, sugar, salty foods, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fatty/greasy foods (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza), pasta, potatoes, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream, fast food, soda, chips. And of course no tobacco or alcohol in any form. Both of those add wrinkles and destroy your brain. No oil except olive and mac nut. Coffee also rots your brain.

To keep your skin clear, drink water. Veg. juice is good too. But not canned juice (too much sugar.)

Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment. Also hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming, badminton, tennis...

If you lack energy to exercise, take stress B vitamins.
To lose weight, try an appetite suppressant
  • No. Drinking copious amounts of water will not help you lose weight. Just drink when your thirsty.
