How to Lose Weight Without Counting Calories

Recommended Answer:

109 is TINY. I'm not sure what your height or age is, but trust me - people all over the world would love to weigh 109.The key question here is, are you healthy? It sounds like you're doing a good job with your calorie count/intake, and exercising. Be sure not to do too much of both in excess- try to enjoy life and have cheat days every now and again. :)If you watch what you eat and exercise, maintaining or losing weight can be done. It's a lifestyle. Good luck!

Other Answers:

  • Yes but more important than the calories is the foods you eat, I would recommend you get on a good meal plan to help you lose weight and gain muscle such as this one http://www.themusclemaximizer.com/freeinfo.php?hop=marcale
  • How many calories did you eat before ? 3500 calories make a pound if fat, so if you ate that many less calories in a week, you would lose one pound that week. If you watch carbs/fats you will have better results , not all 0 calorie things are good for you.
  • Sure, 1,200 calories is awesome if your like 10 years old, and 109 pounds is awesome if your 13 or 14 years old, depending on your height.

what is better...to eat fewer calories than you burn or the amount you burn?

I'm trying to lose fat weight in my abdomen (under my abs) it pokes my belly out. I also want to gain muscle and I workout hard. I probably burn a total of 2300 calories a day and lately I have been eating 1700 or 1800 calories a day so that I can burn fat. It doesnt seem to work. what am I doing wrong?

If you are trying to convert fat to muscle, you need to eat as much as you burn. If you eat less, you will just lose weight, not gain muscle. I recommend eating lots of protein, such as meat and fish.

Would I become curvier if I gain weight, and then do ab workouts?

I''m really skinny. I''m 5''5" and my measurements are 32-22-34. I want to be curvier and have a bigger butt. Could I do this by gaining weight and then doing a lot of ab workouts?

Lose Weight For Free Fast And The Foods That Help You Lose Weight

I agree with D. The key is to do both together to achieve the curves you need or else you will risk gaining fat deposits in areas you do not need. I would suggest looking to eat a high calorie diet, sleeping well and doing the right workout to help you gain mass and weight in those spots.

Most people think that they are eating a lot and come to the conclusion that something else is needed to fix it. The key thing to getting a high calorie diet is to eat more times rather than eat more each meal. Take for instance a buffet. How much food can you actually force down your system in a buffet compared to 3 or even 6 hearty meals that are spread throughout the day. I was appalled when I realized that we are subconsciously able to consume more calories if we eat 6 full meals a day compared to a single buffet seating, particularly in the carbohydrate section which is the key ingredient to help you to gain weight. This includes eating a lot of potatoes, pasta, noodles, bread, biscuit and rice 6 times a day spread 2-3 hours apart for maximum carbohydrate loading and energy replenishment. Due to the high metabolism, your body needs to constantly absorb carbohydrates to use it as a source of energy or it will find it elsewhere, particularly in breaking down muscles, ceasing some unimportant bodily function as well as burning fat. If preparing 6 meals a day is either an inconvenience or a hassle, I suggest you look to drink 500ml of milk 3 times a day in between your meal and increase that amount by 100ml. Once you have seen at least a 1 pound weight gain on the scale, you are ready for step two which is sleep.

Sleep is a highly underrated activity but speak to any athlete and bodybuilder and they will tell you that is what keeps your body weight stable or even help you to gain weight properly. This is because sleep prevents you from falling sick easily, thus preventing weight loss. One more thing that good quality sleep does is to prevent a situation where you burn more calories to stay awake, thus utilizing the needed energy for weight gain rather than keeping you alert. A good quality sleep consists of 2 parts, quantity and quality. Quantity depends on individual and you find that out by sleeping and waking up all by yourself without being disturbed at all. Quality refers to REM sleep or the best form of sleep where your mind drifts off to dreams and produces a consistent rhythm of repairing and resting your body efficiently. This causes you to be more alert, energetic and healthy without the addition of caffeine, vitamin tablets or other enhancement. If you can do this properly, then you are ready for the trigger that will promise consistent gains and that is by doing the right workout.

The problem with utilizing a weight gain regime with only sleep and diet is that if you cease to do so, your body weight will plummet, causing all the efforts you put in to be in vain. The key is to cause your body to grow and exercise is the right way. However, most workouts are either used to help big people become bulky or big people to become skinny, rarely the other way around. If you are looking for a regime that will help you to gain weight, I suggest you go to http://gohforth.com for that workout regime. I chanced upon it in my time in the army and it helped me to gain weight efficiently and now is also benefiting those who join my gym to do the same goal. I hope you find the same success and I hope that I was there to help you refine it even more.

  • Correction you would need to do ab workouts while you gained weight.. not afterwards

Lose Weight and Block Fat

Recommended Answer:
I was fat for a large portion of my life, and this sounds exactly like what I did when I started trying to lose weight. I felt tired, fatigued, and just depressed. Oh, I was hungry the whole time and lost no weight. So, please, do not do what I did.

This is one of the most common mistakes people make when trying to lose weight. There is a certain, specific list of nutrients and foods your body needs when you are trying to lose weight. When you deprive your body of what it needs, it literally shuts down. This is why, if you keep doing what you are doing, you won''t see results.

I know how you feel; having unwanted bodyweight is extremely frustrating. Through years of trial and error I found something that worked for me, and now my clients. There is a balance that, when put into place, makes weight loss laughably easy. I can’t really explain all of it here, but my website will really help you http://www.secret.lightmindfitness.com

I''m eating healthy for the first time in my life. And my appetite is good for the first time. Question?

I am eating healthy. I am eating smaller meals about 6 times per day. But I have a great appetite for the first time in my life. And I feel great too! I used to live off of hamburgers and pizza.
Question: Do my new eating habits have anything to do with my new desire to want to eat?
Question: I am not super skinny looking. But I am thin. With my new eating habits, when will I start gaining some weight? Or how can I eat healthy and gain weight?
I''m not eating super healthy. But I have oatmeal with blueberries in the morning. I make a healthy smoothie that''s good for when I get to work and some left over for later. I''m eating a lot of chicken. A little beef. Salads. Brown rice and black beans. And some other healthy stuff as well but not 100% sure what it is or what''s in it. Lose Weight Fast - Don''t Its Unhealthy!

Recommended Answer:
An increase in appetite when you switch to good natural food is a good thing. The addition of a healthy habit of grazing rather than eating 3 meals will help your body absorb the nutrients better, thus giving a better appetite. It could also be that your taste-buds are now more sensitive to natural food just like when a smoker is wean off cigarettes. If you are looking to gain weight though, you will need a higher calorie diet than what you are currently eating to help you gain the weight you need. Also, I would suggest you look into sleeping well and doing the right workout to accompany your diet so that you will gain and maintain the weight progressively.

Diet is the fundamental key and usually the first thing most people who are skinny will stumble upon first. However, the usual habit of eating a lot in one sitting bares no reason. This is because in a skinny person''s body like yours, it is highly likely that the body will feel overwhelmed by the sudden influx of so many nutrients and your digestive system will simply push the excess down the line into excrement. The key is to use carbohydrates is because the body will not do that to this particular energy source. Also, it provides the body with energy that will last 3-4 hours and thus require less loading time compared to other energy sources. Also, eating things like potatoes, pasta, noodles, biscuits, bread and rice 6 times a day with an interval of 2-3 hours in between will ensure that at no time in the day your body is deprived from an energy source, thus allowing you to gain and maintain the weight you have. If preparing 6 meals a day is daunting, perhaps you can try drinking 500ml of milk in between your meal for a total of 3 times a day. Increase the amount of milk you drink by 100ml every week until you see a 1 pound weight gain on the scale. This is the magic number of calories you need in order to gain weight so make sure you maintain this diet.

The next thing to look into is also a lifestyle habit and it is sleeping. So many people neglect sleep and that is what separates the successful gainers from the not successful one. The key is not only to sleep enough but to also sleep well. This means no interruptions or waking up in the middle of the night. If you can achieve your usual regime of sleeping and waking up yourself every single day, you are definitely acing this factor very well. If time does not permit, simply do this on weekends and ensure that your weekdays are still filled with long rest at night.

The last thing most skinny people will never think about is exercising to gain weight. The misconception is that exercising will cause me to lose weight so why should I do it? This is because if you simply rely on a regime of sleep and diet, you will gain fat which will be lost when your calorie intake is lower or your sleeping pattern is compromise. This will lower your weight faster than you can say wait a minute. Also, there are too many workouts on the internet and books that promise gains but none actually works like http://gohforth.com. That is a workout dedicated to help skinny people to gain weight and I personally vouch for that.

Does Curves Complete work for a smaller, slightly overweight woman? (10 lbs over)?

I'm wondering, because I'm noticing my larger female counterparts are losing weight quicker. I'm 140 pounds, and need to lose about 10 of that. Here's what I'm thinking:

Larger women were probably eating 3000+ calories a day, due to their food habits. Now that they are put on the 1400 calorie diet, and working out, they are reducing calorie intake, and burning the rest by working out, therefore, results. Because I am 140 pounds anyway, and put on this "diet" that is really my NORMAL intake (140X10 cals a pound=1400), and I am only burning 400 calories a day, THAT is why I'm not even losing a pound week, like the plan claims. 400X7 days a week=2800 calories burned, and there are 3500 cals in a pound. therefore, ALMOST a pound burned. I'm really burning about .75 pounds, as opposed the the 1.0 I'm supposed to.

Any one else see this flaw? I get weighed once a week, and get let down everytime because not even a pound has been burned. I think I need to be on a 1200 cal diet.

BTW, I work out 5 times a week and do an ADDITIONAL 4 Zumba classes....

Thoughts? I'd love your feedback.

Fastest Way to Lose Weight

Are you following the Curves Complete plan or watching others who are following it? I'm a little uncertain due to the wording of your title. If you aren't following it and asking if it would work for you, then the answer is YES! If you are following it and you're asking for advice on how to get better results, here are some things to think about:

The meal plan needs to be followed closely. It's not only about how much you eat (straight calories in) vs WHAT you eat and when! It's important to eat the snacks to keep your metabolism going throughout the day. It's important to make sure you choose good substitutions if things aren't specifically listed in your plan. You want a good balance of carbs, fats, protein, etc. As a general guideline no female is recommended to go below 1200 calories a day.

Your workouts need to be evaluated. Are you really pushing yourself every time? I'm not sure if they have Curves Smart at your particular club but that is a good way to measure your workout intensity! Use your tag if they do! Otherwise is your heart rate up like it should be every time you reach the stepper machine? Are you breaking a sweat? If not you know you need to push harder. If you ARE working out very hard, it's possible you could be training a little aggressively and might need to eat a little MORE! Our bodies are funny about this (especially when we're trying to trim the last few pounds!) and will go into defense mode to store the fat that we have if we aren't fueling them enough. Workouts should not only be about burning calories to create a deficit but also for maintaining and increasing muscles. If you are a heavy trainer you actually need to eat BACK some of the calories you burn! You might want to pick a few days a week and actually add in a small meal (maybe 300 cals - make sure it's something healthy) and see if that will rev up your metabolism some.

You say that you haven't been seeing results on the scale, but have they been measuring you? Are your inches changing at all? Check the inches and body fat %. Sometimes we get an unrealistic goal of a "weight" we want when really we should focus on the size and shape of our body!

As far as weight loss goes, we tell people you can lose 1-2 pounds a week because that's the most you should aim to lose to get pure fat loss. Especially as a slightly overweight person - larger people can get bigger numbers at first because of exactly the things you said! Generally speaking, an aggressive approach is to lose 1% of your overall body weight per week. Your max per week should be around 1.4 pounds so if you were to lose .75 in a week that would actually be pretty reasonable.

Sorry if this is a little long or random, there are so many factors to this and I'm trying to touch a little on everything. If you ARE following the Curves Complete plan this is something you should discuss with your coach! She should be able to help you get through this plateau. If you aren't on the program then it might be just what you need.

is this dinner healthy for weight loss?

i've been trying to stick to a pretty regular diet but i was wondering if the salad i eat usually every day is doing the trick. it's a pretty large bowl of mesculun lettuce (probably a good three handfuls) with sliced onions, peppers, only a few bleu cheese crumbles, tomato chunks, and oil and balsamic vinegar for dressing.

It's not bad, but where's your protein? Protein is very important for people trying to lose weight because it helps feed your muscles and makes you feel fuller. Add a 4 ounce chicken breast (baked or poached) and maybe another vegetable that you like and it will be the perfect dinner. Good luck!

Why am I always sore and tired every single day?

Its so frustrating. It is mostly my upper back/ shoulder area along with my lower back and thighs. Ive been losing weight, I eat 1800-2000 cals a day, I exercise for 1 hour of cardio just about every day. I don't know what else to do. I started exercising so I wouldn't be sore but I am even more sore now. I am so tired all the time and have no energy to want to do anything.

If I dance for 2hrs once a week, use the elliptical on medium to high intensity 5 days a week, and eat healthy?

Will I lose weight?

@applebutter

I don't weigh myself because the number on the scale is not important (muscle weighs more than fat). I am making a lifestyle change not going on a diet of any kind. I do find ellipticals fun. I was seeing a personal trainer before I started exercising on my own. I am a girl. I have always eaten healthy (dad is a bodybuilder) so I have grown to enjoy healthy foods. I also know about water weight and how your weight can change throughout the day. I do know good form because of my trainer.

4 Simple Tips On How To Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
You don't want to go that route. I know it sounds good to your mind, but your body and brain will have more to say on the matter than your mind will and it's even more important because you are still developing hormonally and will be for the next two years, going to the extreme like this will mess up that developement ( becoming a man or woman) you don't wanna mess that up! The key to long term success is keeping your exercise enjoyable. You don't want to go over an hour a day tops! It's counter-productive otherwise, it's just how your body and brain work, don't make me get all scientific on you ha! Think more long term, you are going to want to look and feel your best for the rest of your life, so it's important that you start right from the beginning. And you have to give your body and brain at least 6-8 weeks to break in to this new routine, they canjust flip the switch like your mind does.
The Most Important Thing You Must Understand is you need to keep your program ENJOYABLE! If your brain or body find it too painful, no matter how strongly your mind is committed to working the program, eventually, (usually less than 6 weeks) your brain will make you quit! It won't tolerate pain.At the same time it's so very important that you allow your body and brain time to adjust to your new training. From tendons being stretched to complicated metabolic issues, to learning proper form, pace and routines your brain and body need at least 6 weeks to line up to really get things going.
Don't give much credit to the scale when first starting, it's normal to retain more fluids, it's your body's way of being ready for the next workout. Don't micro-manage your calories either. Sensible wholesome meals, the quality of the calories is more important than the quantity. Your diet should be ENJOYABLE too, and something you can develop and maintain as a habit.
Workout at your own pace, which in the beginning should be slower, focus more on how you move ( your form) as it's important to how your body will shape up and that you don't get injured. Just about any exercise is good and will work, walking, jogging, running, cycling but my favorite and number one choice for losing or gaining weight is weightlifting aka bodybuilding. If your a girl, don't worry that you'll get manly muscles, the average steriod-free female builds only a small amount of muscle each year. But that muscle is awesome! Because not only does it burn calories while your working and using them, and while they are repairing and replenishing themselves, but 24/ 7 they consume calories just to stay alive! Just try not to miss a single day of working out for the first 6 months without a real good reason, otherwise slacking off can become the habit. Other than taking your two scheduled days off per week. Rest is important, so get to bed at a decent time as well. Make sure you drink plenty of water everyday. Learn to drink water warm, so you can have it anytime/anywhere. Other than keeping it sensible and enjoyable, remember all the benefits you'll get from exercising and a decent diet. You'll sleep better, have better energy, breathing, moods, concentration, endurance, strength, self-confidence, and so much more. It's really the closest thing to magical powers each human has, so don't miss out! 45-60 minutes a day, 5 days a week is ideal, but by all means start with less if need be, again keeping it enjoyable is everything! Just start easy, give your body time to start providing you additional energy, keep learning more as you go, and before you know it, you'll have the body you've always wanted, with the loads of extra benefits I pointed out.

  • Yes, but make sure you eat about 1500 calories a day, otherwise you won't eat enough, therefore you won't lose as much weight. I'm 15 and trying to lose weight by August, and so far, that is working for me:-)

How do you make your overweight sister workout?

She is overweight and at risk for diabetes. At 13 years old she is 5'-0" and 160 pounds. I am 18, 5'-5" and 145 pounds. I had the same problems as her but I was motivated to lose weight.

My sister wants to do volleyball but doesn't lift a finger to get ready for the physical activity. She just sits down all day watching tv and doing nothing. When I try to workout with her, she tells me she has a lot of homework. I went to the same school as her and had the same teachers and I NEVER needed 5 hours to do three sheets of homework. She eats junk food and eats between meals as well.

One kid made fun of her. He told her she will die in her thirties if she doesn't get her ass moving. I told that kid to piss off and comforted my sister. They say be happy with the way you look but that to me is overly simplistic. You have one body and therefore have every obligation to maintain it.

I know girls her age are very self-concious and I try to be patient, but the bottom line is, if she doesn't do something soon, the doctor says she will have diabetes pretty soon.

She didn't make volleyball tryouts as she was out of shape and unable to keep up with the other girls.

I know I sound callous but I am really not. I just don't want my sister to have to have diabetes and further social issues. I exercise with her when she does and I try to be as patient as I can.

Lose Weight, No Sweat!

Recommanded Answer:
You are absolutely right, your sister needs to make some effort.

However, what did you say to her when that kid said what he said to her? Did you tell her he was wrong? Because I think that you should have said very kindly but very firmly that he was right. That he has a point, and that she needs to get moving and get some exercise in every day. There is no point in pretending to her that all is well when clearly it isn't. Tell her you will exercise with her, but that her healthy is ultimately NOT your responsibility - it's hers. She needs to focus on her health, and now.
