It must be difficult for you but what kind of exercise are you doing? Lifting weights and weights give you more muscle making you heavier. Try running for a while. And when you're hungry eat some fruit vegetables soon you're going to see some results and fell proud of yourself. I know how you feel I used to be like you.

Other Answers:

  • drink a protein shake after exercising. it makes you feel full and helps with recovery!
  • I'm a college football player and I know its a little different considering I'm about 300lbs. but during and after I work out I drink TONS of water and that has helped me drop to 289 and that's the lightest I've been since my freshman year in high school.
  • okay, i understand what you mean..may i give you some advice.. you can try OCD method, it's really popular now in indonesia, i explain to you just a little, you have to fasting.. only some a hours, for example, you may eat only 4, 6 or 8 hours.. you can choose that, if you choose 8 hours, during that you can eat everything you want.. doesn't think about the calories.. and after 8 hours you eat, you have to fasting, in this fasting you still may drink, mineral water exactly, and don't eat anything what contains calories.. don't think it's hard to do, it's really easy, the time when you choose, it's available, you can set your own time to fasting..only one month you can see the result in you body.. :) i'ts real happen to a lot of people in indonesia..maybe you can open the link to www.readyforfit.com for more information..
  • You have to eat right after exercise to recover strength and replenish your spent nutrient stores. It's important that your meals prioritize healthy varieties, though. Some supplements are concentrated in the essential nutrients but cut out the additives and unhealthy components; if you want to gain lean muscle mass, for example, then you should take protein shakes immediately after your last routine. Some supplements also complete your program with holistic nutrition, like Cellucor C4 Extreme. Husband on me about my weight often?

Every 3 or 4 months hubby picks on me when I gain 5-10lbs. I'm not fat. I'm healthy. I workout 2-3 hours a day 4-6 days a week. Sometimes I do 2 workouts in one day & I count my calories/watch what I eat. I'm 39 yrs old & have always worked out. I'm 5'5 weighing anywhere between 155-165 but I have a lot of muscle from years of lifting weights. Usually around that time of month I get really bloated & it's also been more difficult to lose weight. Hubby makes comments like he wishes I was small like my mom, how I look big sometimes or how I need to go to the gym & sit in tbe sauna longer. Hubby is an ex boxer & tries to tell me how he trained to lose weight so he could fight in a certain weight class. I told him I'm not a boxer & I'm not training to fight. I workout for myself & because I enjoy it. Everything is like a competition to him. He even told me he wants to have the finest wife out of all his friends. Image seems to be a huge deal to him but yet I feel like he is also insecure. Anyone else deal with spouses that pick on you about your weight? If so what do you do?I forgot to add he does tell me I'm beautiful almost every single day. He compliments me regularly. He brags to all his friends & family about me often. He is very loving & affectionate but if I gain even a little weight then he's distant with me & makes stupid comments. We have had serious talks about this even met with church couple peers. He stopped for a while but starting his BS again.I also don't look like 165lbs because of my muscle mass. All of my friends have told me I look great. I have had strangers try to guess my weight & they say around 135. I would like to be around 145 but like I said it's harder to lose weight than when I was in my 20s

Your husband sounds very insecure about himself and he sounds very mean ( i want to say something else but won't out of respect). It sounds like you've had enough conversations and have stood up for yourself during those conversations so he knows how you feel. He obviously does not care. Abuse comes in many forms and emotional abuse is no exception. It is his job to make you feel beautiful and loved, not to tell you that you are not good enough and need to keep working for his approval. If that was the case, then why did he marry you? I"m sorry, but if I were in that situation and we've had our talks and he continued to belittle me (kids or no kids), i'd pack up slowly and one day he'd come home with a note on the counter saying "since i'm not good enough for you, i'm going to leave so you can marry a model. Divorce papers are underneath, please sign in the proper places and return them. Thank you and have a nice life." The reason why i say this is because he talks all this trash but he is still with you so you're right. he has a problem, but why should you be his punching bag for him to fix it. Your decision but I'd leave. A man talking to me like that will make me think he's going to cheat on me and I won't stand for that nor stick around to find out. Bless you and good luck. I'm so sorry.

  • As long as you work out for yourself and feel happy about yourself do not let his comments ever get you down. If he has a problem with it, screw him! He should be lucky he has a wife that works out, most don't. Keep doing you honey
  • 5'5 and 165 is a big girl. i'm not saying fat, as I never saw you, so i can't say. of course he's insecure if he's picking on you, but maybe he's not totaly wrong, but it's wrong to pick on you. just one thing is for sure - he's not happy when you gain weight. you can't blame him for that.
  • At 5'5" and 165 you are not petite. The question is; how much importance do you put on your husband's opinion of your looks? If you tell him to like it or lump it, he will probably do the latter. Diet could play a part; less protein and more produce. I have recently started eating two salads a day plus fruit and have lost about 10 lbs. in a couple weeks, and I feel better. I still eat meat, but I find I crave it less.
  • read what "Miss" has said..well spoken
  • Could it be that his just be picking on you ?
  • What happens if you have kids, don't have time for hours at the gym and end up with a flabby stomach from carrying babies.Maybe you won't be the trophy wife that he longs to keep. Is he going to stay with you even if you do get ugly in your old age?We all change over time - I just hope he realises that. And I hope he doesn't start the comments daily if you can't sustain that perfect figure.I think he needs a reality check - he needs to stop focusing on looks only and realise there is a lot more to a person than outside appearance.I don't know how you cope with being told you are beautiful every day - sorry, that would just make me sick - I wouldn't want to be only valued as a woman because I looked good every day. I don't know how you are going to keep up with his high expectations.
  • He doesn't sound like he will ever be happy with how you look. He is very shallow to be that way with you. Remind him one day he may very well not be the weight he wants, age creeps up on us all.

How to Lose Weight on a Tight Budget

Recommended Answer:

Eat super healthy and put yourself on a balanced diet. Include lots of green foods and try to limit your sweets to one small thing a day. You could also try to use smaller plates for your meals, "tricking" yourself into eating smaller portions. After each meal, what I do is take half a cup of squeezed lemon juice, and adding in a half a cup of water to lessen the sour taste. As gross as it may sound, the lemon juice will flush your system out making the foods you eat digest quicker. For exercise, try doing a simple 1 hour yoga class- which you can take on youtube. I really dont like yoga that much but its so good for you and even if youre not dripping with sweat youre still strengthening your body and losing weigjt as well. *tip: If youre like me and hate most vegetables, try some green smoothie recipes, it will make the vegetables actually taste good and ive become addicted to them. Adding Chia Seeds in your smoothies is another good way to help digest food quicker. Hope I helped and good luck!

Dr. Chen's work with the Garcinia Cambogia Extract caught Dr. Oz's eye, specifically the findings on how safe Garcinia Cambogia Extract is.Dr. Chen's studies proved that those taking Garcinia Cambogia Extract lost two to three times more weight than those not taking the supplement. This equates to an average of ten pounds per month. What's even more amazing is that they did this without changing their dietary habits or exercise routines. How to Fast to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

Exercise won't be of much help. Because you're racing against the clock, your best bet will be to lose as much fat as possible. That means cutting back the calories to about 1000 per day. Then, 48 hours prior to measuring, limit your intake (volume) while encouraging the elimination of water and waste. You can do that by eating some high fiber foods a few days before the end while cutting back on sodium and consuming some caffeine for it's diuretic potential.Be careful to avoid dehydration up to the last 24 hours. Make sure your urine is a pale straw color. Don't try to eat high protein foods and don't take any supplements. Just eat a good and proper diet but keep the portion low so your daily caloric intake is less than 1000 calories. The key to fat loss is not exercise, it's diet.Any exercise will burn calories but no exercise will burn fat unless your diet allows it. You can burn fat in your sleep or you can run all day and never burn any fat. It all depends on your diet. Fat loss is determined by calorie control, not by exercise. Good exercises for burning calories are speed walking, biking, swimming, dancing, etc. and ANY other physical activity which makes you move a lot of weight for a long time. But NO exercise is good for burning fat if you eat too many calories because you can always eat more calories than you can burn but you can't always burn as many as you take in.Too many people waste energy and time because they do not understand this one simple point. The result is too often giving up in frustration, abandoning gym memberships they continue to pay for, and many other unnecessary problems not the least of which is a lack of success. An average person must walk about five miles every day for a week to burn the calories equivalent to a pound of body fat. So, unless you think walking about five miles a day (or doing an equivalent amount of exercise) with no guarantee of fat loss makes sense, focus your fat loss program on diet.Diet for fat loss. Exercise for fitness. If you want to keep the fat you lose off, then read the following. To find out how the best minds in nutrition in the world (at the US NIH) have recommended for decades we lose fat, read my answer about how to lose fat --> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=As615QJM4X_3ID9_05qmmlXty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20111028185603AAVcP4D It's much easier to lose inches than pounds. Measure in an inaccurate process anyway because you're measuring something that change from moment to moment as the food passes through the GI tract and as body water volume changes with hydration, hormonal variations (menses), and elimination.Good luck and good health!!♠PS: Here are some good websites you may find useful.• A MUST FOR DIETERS http://www.freedieting.com/• BEST DIET TOOL ON THE WEB http://www.myfitnesspal.com/• BEST FOODS FOR YOU http://www.choosemyplate.gov/index.html• NUTRITION DOT GOV http://www.nal.usda.gov/food-and-nutrition

Weight Loss - Are You Fighting With Yourself to Lose Weight?

Recommended Answer:
Walking is going to reduce thighs very much. Better to go biking, hiking, jogging, play tennis, badminton, baseball. A non-fat diet helps, too. A good plan would be:

Breakfast: low fat milk on cooked 9-grain cereal (from health food store), mixed with cooked oatmeal and wheat bran. Add some nuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine.

Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts and yogurt w/fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham or beef stew.

Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit: banana, orange, apple, kiwi, grapes, peach, nectarine, cherries, pineapple. No chips and nothing ever from a vending machine.

Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it.

Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.

Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes.

Foods to avoid: junk food, pastries, desserts, sugar, salty foods, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fatty/greasy foods (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza), pasta, potatoes, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream, fast food, soda, chips. And of course no tobacco or alcohol in any form. Both of those add wrinkles and destroy your brain. No oil except olive and mac nut. Coffee also rots your brain.

To keep your skin clear, drink water. Veg. juice is good too. But not canned juice (too much sugar.)

Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment.

If you lack energy to exercise, take stress B vitamins.
To lose weight, try an appetite suppressant

  • The most important exercise you can do for a toned body is the Frequent Fork Drop, but you may already be doing that.
  • If you have enough will power become a vegan. If you don''t, just cut out fat foods and snacks. Also for walking, run instead at like 10-15 mph somewhere in that range but pace yourself and I''d run about a couple miles a day with breaks in between every couple of minutes (like every 5-7 minutes)
  • There is no such thing as spot reducing. To lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume, period. You will lose weight everywhere.

You can tone these muscles by doing exercises that concentrate on these areas.
  • Walk 4mph, which translates into a fast walk.

How to get a indoor/outdoor cat to become strictly indoor?

This is going to be a long explanation followed by the question. I just want to give a back story.

My wife and I have taken in our neighbor''s cat (she still doesn''t know if she wants to keep her because we have two cats, a dog and a 4 month old in the apartment already) to try and help her get healthy again. Our neighbors moved in after us and their cat, a 10 year old front-declawed Siamese has been going outside. This was going on for about 3 months or so. They have had her for 5 years and adopted her from the SPCA.

She has gotten in a couple "shouting" matches with a feral stray that hangs out in back of our building and my wife heard them actually get into once with a blood curdling scream from the Siamese. After that we didn''t see her for 3 days and were a bit concerned thinking maybe she had been killed. SO I knocked on the neighbors door and they let me know that she has been in the house for three days, that she hadn''t eaten and is barely drinking. However, they are looking for a home for her.

So I let my wife know what was going on and we said we would take her to see if we can get her eating again. We had for her two days, the first night she ate some wet food and drank some, but after that she would only drink and it was enough for her as she was getting visibly dehydrated with sunken in eyes and losing weight. So we put a call into our vet and he said to bring her right in.

She ended up having pancreatitis and had to be put on IV fluids and antibiotics for a couple days. Five days and over $600 later, we brought her home last Wednesday. She has been eating better and drinking better and just looks like her normal beautiful self. She is more active.

She seems to be at home here, but will mouth off at our 11 year old DSH cat and will sometimes pop him, but he does the same to her. Our other cat avoids her and the dog avoids her, but she seem to tolerate the dog a bit more than the other two cats. My wife still isn''t sure if she wants to hold onto her. I would like to, and think that she will have a better life here. At least one where she isn''t fed strictly dry food and is let out because she''s at the door wanting to go out.

Last night, she did sneak out on me as I brought the dog in from her last outing to go potty. I was able to get her within a minute though as I got her cornered under the steps that lead up to the second floor apartments/breezeway.

How do we get the cat to just stay inside and not even want to go outside?

Our two cats are strictly indoor cats and we would want her to be a indoor cat only as well.
Actually Maddie, it for her own safety. We don''t have just the one feral cat, that roams the apartment complex, we have several and since she doesn''t run from them and doesn''t have front claws, it''s a disaster waiting to happen.

We also live in Central Florida, where there are venomous snakes to deal with, and Alligators. There are several Alligators that live in the ponds scattered around the apartment complex.
So it has nothing to do with our style and everything to do with looking out for the pets who''s lives are entrusted to us!
Thank you Sebastian, we can deal with the "aftershocks" of keeping her in the home.

Just looking for practical suggestions to help with keeping her as an indoor cat only.

Three Reasons Why You Should Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
I''m kind of assuming the cat has been fixed if you got her from the SPCA (if not , that''s your first job. ) Since the cat is declawed she cannot defend herself & should never be let out. She also can''t climb a tree to get to safety with no claws. She is just a snack for the alligators & the Burmese Pythons if she gets too close. To make her an inside cat, make sure she doesn''t get out of the door. She will try to sneak out so you have to watch her or put her in a room with the door closed if you have to let the dog out. Cats can be very sneaky & will lay in wait near the door for a chance to get out. Make sure she has a collar on with a bell so you can hear her walking around. Ignore her when she sits by the door waiting to get out. You are bigger than her ( & smarter so be aware of her tricks). Keep remembering that she cannot get out unless someone opens the door for her.Mistakes can happen & she may sneak out when you are busy & forget or carrying groceries in but with the bell on you will find her easier. I''ve had the same problem but it was because I was staying with my mother in law who didn''t believe cats should stay inside . She kept letting the cat out & he''d sit in the middle of the road with traffic going by. Dumb cat, forgetful mother in law. The final concern you have is that there are many diseases that your cat can catch either from fighting with other cats or just contact with others. With a liver or pancreas problem, your cat cannot afford to catch germs outside. I use to let my cats out but then had one poisoned, one hit by a car, & had one that just never came home again so I know the pain of losing a pet. If your cat keeps sitting by the door, let her sit. Just don''t open the door for her.

  • You cant. If you try to she will get depressed and become destructive. Just let her go outside, what, is she cramping your "i keep my cats inside all day so that they cant so anything with their lives and become a living decoration" style?
  • How good are your nerves? Because forcing a cat to stay inside once it has seen the world is going to require nerves of steel. Basically, you are going to have to deal with a withdrawal period, during which that cat is going to be a nightmare -- howling, prowling, being grumpy and aggressive. And every time that cat gets out again -- whether because it just slipped out, or you broke down and gave up -- you will have to start that withdrawal process all over again.

I am currently dealing with an indoor-cat-turned-stray who is now back in my household. I thought I could turn her back into an indoor cat. It was looking good. However, it was just the cold weather that was making her happy to spend her nights inside. Now that spring is approaching, she is making a fuss at sunrise, and not letting up -- she must get out. And, I am resigned to her spending most of her day -- and night -- outside.
  • A cat that has been outside for an extended period of time, or a house cat that had the freedom to go in and out will probably never lose all desire to go outside, as there are too many interesting things going on "out there". Your home smells and looks the same everyday, and there are probably no mice or birds moving about, so who wouldnt want to go outside, especially when she is a born predator. If you can make your home more interactive for her, and keep her entertained per se,
after a few years (as she gets older and less active), she could be more content with staying inside,
and actually wary of the outside. Good luck!
  • Indoor cats that are sometimes outdoor cats can be very difficult to break of their outdoor habits. We took in a cat that we found outside and was declawed already. After a month of trying to find the owner, we kept him since no one came forward. He was maybe 2 years old when we got him and we never really were able to rid him of wanting to go out. Luckily, if he ran out he would just roll around on the porch and not go far. As he got older he wanted out less, but it''s still a problem because he will dart out every once in a while. The only thing you can do really is get in the habit of "shooing" the cat away from the door with a spray bottle or something like that to let the cat know it cannot go out anymore. I don''t think the cat could ever really be broken of the habit of wanting to go out however, but a deterrent might help keep the cat at bay.

10 Biggest Mistakes Made When Trying to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Losing 10 lbs a month is a good and safe target. Any faster weight loss is likely to be temporary only and in most cases you regain it all.

For weight loss, dieting is more effective than exercising.

Perhaps you could try The Great Australian Diet discussed below.

Created by Australian health guru Dr John Tickell, the Great Australian Diet is touted as a return to natural foods and natural eating patterns. Tickell, an obstetrician turned sports medicine specialist, claims that after travelling the world and studying foods, he has discovered several simple rules which can help anyone lose weight healthily.

He describes the Great Australian Diet as "anti-Atkins, anti-CSIRO" and emphasises the importance of carbohydrates in the diet, saying that the "two most important foods we eat -fruits and vegetables- are carbohydrates". Dr John also criticises the low GI diet because, he says, it frightens people off eating carbs.

The Great Australian Diet is actually rather complicated, and may not be as easy to follow as Dr Tickell seems to think. First of all, he replaces the glycemic index with the HI, or ''Human Interference'' factor. This means that foods which have been highly processed, such as salami, white bread and white rice, are considered unhealthy, and are replaced by unprocessed alternatives- raw and lightly cooked vegetables, fish, especially deep water fish and sardines, and small amounts of lean meat. 2/3 of the diet should be composed of vegetables and fruits, and 1/3 ''bonus'' foods, which are essentially lean proteins, and after the initial two day cleansing period, which is very low calorie, 15 different types of plants should be eaten every day.

Since no calorie guidelines are given, and only vague instructions to eat 4 or 5 nuts and so on, this may be the downfall of many dieters. After all, its pretty easy to forget how many nuts, seeds and grains you have eaten. It may also be hard for people on busy schedules to keep to such a demanding diet, since eating out is restricted really to grilled fish and an occasional steak and vegetables.

But the Great Australian Diet is much more than just an eating plan. Dieters get points for watching the sunset, hugging their children and other ''coping'' activities, and use gentle exercise techniques to strengthen trunk and arm muscles. Walking is also part of the diet, which claims over 91 days to re-educate the body into natural rhythms. One of the selling points for me at least, is the resting weeks- after each three weeks on the diet, there are two weeks when you are allowed to eat freely, and recuperate. However, although it seems pretty healthy, the Great Australian Diet is never going to be voted easiest diet of the year.

  • Don''t eat j/k
  • Do not starve yourself, that causes you to eat more and doesn''t help you lose weight at all. Eat non processed foods (like cook it yourself) and eat very slowly. I like natural exercising like walking, biking, swimming, etc. Do exercise that you like and do some yoga.
  • Go on a water diet, which is eating soft foods and smoothie. Eat a fistful of food every hour. (Don''t eat a lot!) do tons of ab exercises and workout routines.

  • If you want to get down to the basics, there''s only one way to lose fat. Consume less calories than what you''re burning.

Everyone''s body is different so you have to find your base metabolic rate http://www.muscleandstrength.com/tools/bmr-and-daily-calorie-calculator.html . Type in your information and you''ll figure out how many calories your body will consume even while inactive. Once you find that, subtract 500 calories and you''ll get a healthy weight loss calorie goal. If you manage to reach that goal every day, you''ll lose on average 1 pound a week.

That may not seem like much because because commercials now a days promise insane results, but it''s realistically the best rate at which to lose fat. I don''t want you to starve yourself. You can reach your calorie goal through a combination of dieting and exercise. Remember, any calories you burn make it easier to achieve the goal. Stick with it, and in a couple of weeks you should start noticing a difference. Any changes you want with your body take time (unless you go under the knife), so be patient and you will be rewarded :)

Is it bad to eat 2 lean cuisines everyday?

I am on a low calorie diet. I love lean cuisines. I only eat ones that are 260 calories or under. I usually eat one for breakfast and one for dinner. I don''t have time to cook because I juggle school, tennis team, church and homework. My mom only makes junk like pizza, taquitos, and noddles. I also eat lots of fruit and veggies and yogurt. I know that lean cuisines have a lot of sodium but I drink A LOT of water. I am very active and I have been losing weight but will eating two lean cuisines a day bad for me? Should I limit myself to one? Btw I am 14 5''3.5'''' and 115 pounds. Thanks!!! I will pick a best answer!

For a thickener, they use corn starch. It''s not organic. The portions are small. The product isn''t especially nutritious and high in salt. Learn how to cook. It''s a more creative and healthier solution. Make a presentation about nutrition to teach your parents its value. Water doesn''t work to dilute the salt you ingest. Salt can raise BP.
