If I eat at most 2000 calories a day, and burn off 350 afterwards, how much weight would I lose in a month?

I'm 16, I weigh 240 lbs. I dont look nearly as fat as I should, but I'm planning on losing weight. So, today, I ate at most 2000 calories... and after my last meal I jogged for about 30 minutes. I did a calorie calculator, and it said I burned around 380 calories. Is that enough to lose weight if I do that for a month?

How to Lose Weight Fast on Fable 2

Recommended Answer:

If you are male... You would lose around 10lbs. (if you don't just sit and watch tv all day)Female... maybe 7 or 8lbs...Just did these calcs very fast using the average 16 year old - 240 lbs with an average activity level (other than the 350 cals burned)2000 is a bit high for someone dieting... I would suggest 1800 if you are a male and 1500 if you are female.

Other Answers:

  • No, you need to burn more then you consume to kick in the fat loss
  • It really depends on the speed of your metabolism, and also, your weight. The more you weigh, the more calories you need to consume to maintain that weight, and the more you'll burn doing physical activity. You might need to play around with daily calorie limits (influenced by your height and physical activity levels), but in order to lose weight, you'll need to burn more calories than you eat. Keep in mind that your body burns over a thousand calories on its own just by doing day-to-day functions. However, exercise is important too, so keep that up. Seeing a dietitian might also be a good idea
  • yess of coursetheres two things that you're doing that will make you lose weight, first of all you're eating less, reducing calories will always make you lose weight, and second you're exercising which is really good, for every 500 calories you burn thru exercise per day that means you lose 1 pound per week and you're pretty close to that, im guessing that combined you'll probably lose 8-10 lbs per month
  • Assuming you're 5'7 (Average height for 16 year old males) your BMR would be around 2,300 calories burned a day (doing nothing). If you ate 2,000 calories for the day then subtract the 380 you burned it would be about 1,620 calories for the day which is a 680 calorie deficit. If a pound is roughly about 3,500 calories you should be burning about 1.3lbs a week which would be about 5lbs a month. But realistically it all depends on what of those calories you are eating. I'd say keep the carbohydrates low (below 100) and eat only complex carbs (sweet potatoes, green vegatables, any wheat products).Just do a lot more cardio and eat healthy! =)
  • If we assume that you're 5,10' male, then you are very most likely obese, BMI 30+. If we assume that your net calories is around 1700 calories a day then in a month you will lose around 13lbs. 3 months 30lbs and 6 months around 55 lbs. Good luck!

How to Be Lazy and Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

There isn't really a fast way of loosing weight, it all depends on your metabolism, the foods you eat and how much you exercise.Try and keep up with some simple exercises, look to do about a hour a day.Only eat foods that look how they should! Sounds a bit weird, but if you're getting some chicken, for example, does it actually look like fresh chicken and not some artificial mooshy nugget thing. Making sure you eat fresh, natural produce is not only good for losing weight, but it helps your body in all way, especial your skin! Also try and drink lots of water. Not sitting down all day drinking liters and liters, but have a glass of water near by at all times and regularly take a sip, it's good for your body and helps flush out all that bad stuff that causes you to gain weight and messes up your skin.Hope that helped xx

How to Get a Chihuahua to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

If you're an ectomorph (very thin/skinny) or near ectomorph you will have difficulty gaining weight because of your somatype, not because of metabolism. So, if you want to change that and add some pounds there are two ways to do it. Both may work and neither may work. Your success is going to ultimately depend on your body chemistry which is inherited (genetic).FATThe difference between naturally fat and naturally thin people is the number of fat cells in their body. An endomorph may have as many as 250 billion adipocytes (fat cells) while the ectomorph may only have about 50 billion. There's no way to change your total adipocytes or their distribution throughout your body. How fat or thin you are has almost nothing to do with metabolism. You can try adding fat by eating more food. You should eat a proper diet which is about 50/20/30 (%calories from carbs/fats/protein respectively) and just consume more food. You should NOT eat junk food, increase your carbs, take supplements, consume more fat, etc. Just eat a proper, well balanced diet in increase the portions (serving sizes). If you are able to add body fat, you will have no control over where the fat goes or how it looks. In other words, the result could be "skinny fat" which is probably less appealing aesthetically than skinny. And, of course, if you don't like the fat, you'll just have to lose it to get back to where you were.MUSCLEYou can try adding muscle. It is always good to try to add muscle because muscle is the best metabolic investment you can make. Here are some of the benefits of strength training.• Stronger bones & increased mineral density (osteoporosis protection)• Stronger body & musculature (improved protection from injury)• More robust organic and systemic fitness (more survivable in crisis) • Improved cardio-vascular function (better than "cardio")• Higher basal metabolic rate (~5-50 cal/day/pound of muscle)• Easier fat loss (more efficient lipid consumption)• Greater calorie consumption (prolonged afterburn)• Supports body sculpting (hypertrophy)• Slows natural loss of muscle mass (sarcopenia) over age 30Adding muscle is a very slow and difficult process. Watch this video for more about that ---> http://www.youtube.com/user/scooby1961#p/search/0/Xcuhi6RaZ24 . On average males can add no more than about a pound of muscle per month and females can add about 20% less and that is only under ideal circumstances which are rare. However, if you're a teen, you may find adding muscle to be almost impossible because you will not have your lifetime maximum of testosterone (the muscle building hormone) until about your mid20s. Adding muscle means very intense (and painful) training for a few hours per week and usually requires a gym or gym facilities. It also requires some understanding of how to train (exercise physiology, kinesiology, muscle anatomy, etc) which usually means some time spent with a personal trainer. Adding muscle is a difficult and long term process and, once the muscle is added, the training must continue to maintain the muscle.Ectomorphism is an unhappy an occurrence because being very thin can effect self esteem and inhibit social interaction. However, the ectomorph will usually, in adult life, find it easier to achieve and maintain an ideal or close to ideal body weight because people naturally tend to grow fatter and/or more robust as they grow older....especially with proper diet and training. In other words, being underweight now may be paying it forward. You may reap the benefits with a nice body while your midlife peers are fighting the battle of the bulge.Note - Do not use pills, tonics, supplements, shakes, or other products which claim they can help increase body weight without first checking with your doctor. The scammers are very much aware of the plight of the ectomorph and there are scores or companies with products and advertising all designed to capitalize on your misfortune for their profit. Don't be a sucker. So, they may not be ideal. But those are your two options. Fat and/or muscle. Now, read this --> http://www.eatright.org/Public/content.aspx?id=6852#.UDnVaKAUOFAGood luck and good health!!♠

How to Lose Weight Safely as a Diabetic

Recommended Answer:

Eat a proper balanced diet, try to limit your sugar and artificial foods down so they are only a treat, drink lots if water, only eat until you are full and then stop, keep your protein levels high, eat a lot of veg and some fruits (careful because fruits are full of natural sugars which can be bad for you in large amounts)Exercise daily by doing a ten minute run in the morning followed by 20 squats, 30 lunges, 40 toe touches, 50 second wall sit (ski sit) and then 100 jumping jacks. Then in the eveneing you could do some yoga positions like downward facing dog, childs position, tree pose, cobra and various others and holding them for around 20 seconds. Maybe go to the local swimming pool eery weekend and do sone lengths as this is a cery effective weight loss system. Try doibg around 20/30 lengths and then each week push your body to doing more lengths. This will not only helo with weight but will strengthen your muscles too and give you toner legs and arms, and maybe even stomach. Keep yourself busy and try to avpid sittinbstiol doing nothing all day. Even if you do the exercises every morning and night, you need to keep your body doing things or the fat will keep building up again. However, this doesn't mean you cannot sit down and watch your favourite tv programme every evening, just try to et out and about or do jobs around the house during the daytime. Make sure you are getting enough sleep at night as well otherwise you will wear down your body with all the exercise. If you try the 4 hour sleeping pattern you should be okay. This is when you go to sleep at cerain tine and don't wake up unless it is 4,8 or 12 hours after you wne to sleep. Also nake sure you sleep the 'vital hours' which are from 10pm-1am. I try to go to bed at 9:45 and wak up at 7:45. Don't overdo the exercise, try to do around half an hour a day an then 10-15 mins of relaxibg yoga so it isn't as much of a shock to your body when you begin all the exercise. Also make sure you get some fat and sugars as it is a natural part of a humans diet. Be careful and good luck!

  • Forget that goal, it isn't going to happen, you'll be disappointed and you will look at dieting and exercise as a waste instead of seeing reality. The body just can't change that fast. Take how important it is for you to lose this weight for school, and times it by a million and that would give you an idea of how important it is to be healthy. So think long-term, get started now and by next school year you will be happy with the results and will hopefully just keep on going! The Most Important Thing You Must Understand is you need to keep your program ENJOYABLE! If your brain finds it too painful, no matter how strongly your mind is committed to working the program, eventually, (usually less than 6 weeks) your brain will make you quit! It won't tolerate pain. At the same time it's so very important that you allow your body and brain time to adjust to your new training. From tendons being stretched to complicated metabolic issues, to learning proper form, pace and routines and much more your brain and body need at least 6-8 weeks of taking it easy so it can keep you going strong! Don't give much credit to the scale when first starting, it's normal to retain more fluids, it's your body's way of being ready for the next workout. Don't micro-manage your calories either. Sensible wholesome meals, the quality of the calories are more important than the quantity. Your diet should be ENJOYABLE too, and something you can develop and maintain as a habit. Workout at your own pace, which in the beginning should be slower, focus more on how you move ( your form) as it's important to how your body will shape up and that you don't get injured. Just about any exercise is good and will work, walking, jogging, running, cycling but my favorite and number one choice for losing or gaining weight is weightlifting aka bodybuilding. If your a girl, don't worry that you'll get manly muscles, the average steroid-free female builds only a small amount of muscle each year. But that muscle is awesome! Because not only does it burn calories while your working and using them, and while they are repairing and replenishing themselves, but 24/ 7 they consume calories just to stay alive! Just try not to miss a single day of working out for the first 6 months without a real good reason, otherwise slacking off can become the habit. Other than taking your two scheduled days off per week. Rest is important, so get to bed at a decent time as well. Make sure you drink plenty of water everyday. Learn to drink water warm, so you can have it anytime/anywhere. Other than keeping it sensible and enjoyable, remember all the benefits you'll get from exercising and a decent diet. You'll sleep better, have better energy, breathing, moods, concentration, endurance, strength, self-confidence, and so much more. It's really the closest thing to magical powers each human has, so don't miss out! 45-60 minutes a day, 5 days a week is ideal, but by all means start with less if need be, again keeping it enjoyable is everything! One other piece of advice in this, and that's don't do situps! They don't work the muscle properly so growth is very doubtful, and they risk lower back and hernia injuries. If you must, which most ppl don't, do crunches. Most ppl don't need to worry about their abs, they are small muscles that do alot of work already, every time you move your upper body they work, as well as working during many of your other movements, so if your working your body they are getting theirs. The diet industry has hyped up abs so much, because they know most ppl will fail, because they are too painful and produce little to no results, which they hope will lead people to buying their junk products ( it's working, they've been doing it a long time and making a fortune!). Remember the only thing your belly fat and abs have in common is location, other than that, they have nothing to do with one another, so don't burn yourself out working your abs, when it's your whole body that needs the workout and will produce the results you want. Realize your health is one of, if not THE most important things you will ever have in this life, it will be a huge factor in deciding how this life plays out for you. Don't under-estimate it.
  • Lmfao sorry to disappoint u but that's not gonna happen . The most you'll lose by then is like 7lb if u train ur ass off in the gym. U should've started 3 months ago .Start now so u won't have to regret not starting

How to look thinner in loose clothing?

I'm fourteen and care very little about my appearance. I see pajamas and every day clothes as equals and my main concern is comfort. The only thing that bothers me is my weight. I'm a little it chubby, and most of my excess weight is in my belly. It's not a lot of weight at all, but the fact that it's all accumulated in one place and the fact that I wear shapeless tee shirts really makes my abdomen look fat and it looks weird. It helps to cut the shirts so the bottom meets my pants/skirt, so that you can see my legs better and it doesn't blend into a weird misshapen mess, but I'd really like to know if I can do anything more. I'm in the process of losing weight, already 15 pounds down, but in the meantime I'd like to see if I can fix my problem. I look fine from the front, but it's really my profile that looks awful, because the shirt hangs down and is loose, so it hangs off my boobs and goes straight down, and the same for my shoulders, so from the side I look so top heavy it's not even funny... anyway, It's not a huge thing... I'm just extremely self conscious about my weight for some reason and would like to fix it the best I can.

How can I discipline myself on a diet?

Ok I'm 13 and I'm really chubby (105 pounds) and I want to go on a diet to lose some weight (a healthy diet) but its really hard because my family is very unhealthy and since my mom packs my lunch it's got a lot of junk food and I end up sneaking lots of fruit in, but the junk food is just too tempting and even for dinner we have cheesey buttery stuff and I can't eat that on my diet so how do I not eat my dinner and eat veggies instead, and I've tried to diet before and my mom FREAKED out!!! And it's so hard to stay on my diet with all the yummy stuff in my house! So what can I do to discipline myself and not eat the oily cheesey supper that my mom makes, and sometimes I end up eating it and then purge because that's how guilty I feel???

How to Suggest That Your Girlfriend Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

I'm done with my weight loss journey and completely happy with how I feel and how I look right now however losing weight is a challenge for anyone and even losing 5 pounds and keeping it off isn't an easy task. Also I bet you didn't know that 5 pounds of fat is about the size of 8 cheese burgers? That alone should be enough to make anyone want to get on the ball and start a change for the better. Weight loss can be really easy to learn but the problem is nobody wants to put the required effort that is needed to actually do it, instead people continually look for (easy) ways to do it. If there was an easy way to lose weight I don't think 35% of Americans would be obese. There was a time when I also wanted to lose weight and was tired of starting diets only to lose motivation and give up just a few weeks later after seeing no results. However, let me tell you it is literally one of the easiest things you will ever learn once you find a good and reputable place to learn it from and I say that only because the world is filled with magic diet pills, liquid flush diets and a thousand other quick fixes that promise xx pounds of weight loss in the first week and even though it is impossible they know you're going to do it because your desperate. I have probably tried every diet pill, liquid flush diet, and ab rocket machine known to man and have had no success with any of them nor do I know anyone that has ever had any success with them. I have also tried starving myself which works very well for the first few weeks' right before your metabolism comes to a complete stop and eating just the tiny bit makes you gain weight and you end up weighing more than you did before you started starving yourself. Companies promote weight loss to make money not to get people healthy again and that's because they know you're not going to be a customer and buy their products if you're no longer fat. http://fatloossfactor.com is a site I want you to go to when you have 10 or 20 minutes to spare and I want you to sit down and watch his video on weight loss. He helps people every day to lose weight I have never seen someone as committed as him and that will go so far out of his way to help someone. His weight loss program is one of the best I have ever had the enjoyment of doing and it is without doubt the best success I have ever had with any weight loss program. I also couldn't be happier with my body right now and I have never felt this wonderful in my whole life. In the end you just got to remember to stick with it and stay confident in yourself and in no time you can achieve the results you have always wanted. It's not hard to lose weight but most people have a hard time staying motivated and 9 times out of 10 it was because they weren't really committed from the beginning. Anyways I hope I helped you and I hope you make the commitment to change your body and life. Remember it's not easy to take the first step but you did, you're here right now taking it and the rest of the steps will fall into place. Have a wonderful day.

I was thinking of going wheat free, but I''m not sure, thanks.

Lose Weight Fast - How NOT to Lose Weight Fast!

Recommended Answer:
Well, the healthy amount of weight to lose is no more than 1 kg a week.. even though I personally hate hearing that and try losing 2-3 kg a week..

I''d say one of the easiest ways is to go vegan for a while. It''s actually very interesting, you get to explore many new foods and it feels good to know you''re contributing to the whole help-the-animals-thing :)

The first 3-5 days I''d say are the hardest, you might experience a lot of cravings like chocolate, fried food, depending on what you''re used to indulging in. After that, it''s actually quite easy.

A normal meal plan for me when I go vegan, would be:

Breakfast:
Black coffee
Oat meal (made with water, not milk) with cinnamon on top for extra flavor and a metabolism boost
(You could also have a banana with the oat meal if you need more calories)

Lunch:
Steamed carrots and broccoli
(You could add a handful of almonds and some raisins for more energy)

Dinner:
Brown rice (I prefer it just cooked without anything added, and with nothing on the side, but of course you could add more vegetables)

And if you want dessert, you could go for sweet fruits like pineapple, mango, melons etc.

With a diet like this you''ll get a lot of vitamins and nutrients, but you must be careful not to get a calcium deficiency since you''re not drinking milk.

I highly recommend trying this out for a couple of weeks, if you have any questions, feel free to message me :)

Wondering How To Lose Weight Quick?

Recommended Answer:
119 would be about the MINIMUM you should weigh at that height. and that would be rediculously (and imo, unhealthily) skinny. you can check a bmi calculator (make sure it''s one that takes into account age/gender/weight w.e) i find it best to be near middle of the healthy range, maybe a little under.

  • 120 is about right for your height
  • No weight Lossed. for your height you need to be 140 145 is okay

i switched to a vegetarian diet 4 weeks ago (i also cut out all sugar drinks, soda, coffee, sweats, desserts, junk food, etc while i was at it) and i''ve lost a solid 12 lbs.

vegetarian diet is DEFINITELY healthier and definitely has less calories.

  • You can lose a lot of weight, if you eat a healthy vegetarian diet. When I was a vegetarian I was kind of unhealthy so I didn''t lose much but I also didn''t gain anything so I guess that''s helpful. You can lose 20 pounds easily if you have a healthy diet and exercise everyday. It''d probably take a month or three.
  • It depends on what you eat. There''s plenty of vegetarian food high in calories. The key to losing weight is either consuming less calories or burning more.
  • that would depend on your knowledge of nutrition, you do know there are fat and obese vegans and vegetarians, right?
  • If I became a vegetarian for around 1/2 months, would I lose weight/become healthier?
  • If your diet pretty much stays the same (minus the meat, plus healthy protein supplement), are you more likely to gain weight if you become a vegetarian?
  • You lose weight much quicker being VEGAN as you don''t eat dairy .. Google healthy vegan recipes , try it for a month I bet you lose weight

How many pounds do I have to lose to notice a difference?

I am 18 years old, 5 ft tall, currently 103-105 lbs aiming for 95 - 98 pounds
Being a short girl, I look kind of chubby and I''ve started going on a diet three weeks ago.

I don''t starve myself; I still have cakes and cookies occasionally but I just cut down on the amount of food I intake. I also changed my very sanitary lifestyle by walking about 40 minutes after school 3-5 times a week.

So I''ve definitely lost weight (about 5 pounds) since the beginning of this month but I don''t notice any difference in my appearance.

How many pounds do people normally have to lose to see the results?

Plus, any tips on losing weight on thighs, cheeks, and abdominal area?

Thanks!
I know I''m not fat but I want to look THINNER. I look a little chunky because I tend to be quite curvy.

Focusing on pounds wont do you any good, focus on losing fat and gaining muscle. In the end if you gain 5-10lbs of MUSCLE, you''ll look amazing and not "chubby" at all. Muscle weighs more then fat, and takes up less space.

  • STOP. You must be TINY. I''m 5''2 and 130 lbs.
  • Its not about the number of pounds you''re losing. You want to turn all the fat into muscle to notice a difference! Start doing endurance, aerobic, and speed training ASAP!
  • I say you can notice a little over 6 lbs.
  • Supplements really won''t do much. Situps or use a machine for stomach crunches. They are really fast.
