I need help losing weight fast?

I'm completely and utterly stuck. I feel like im at a standstill and its impossible for me to lose any weight! The only people who are noticing any "weight loss" are my CLOSE family members! Honestly, im starting to think i'm being lied to. I'm not noticing any changes whenever I look at myself in the mirror. I still look back and see the same overweight 13 year old and im tired of it. This summer I decided I was going to lose weight. The only remotely noticeable thing I can see with my own eyes are my collar bones (they're becoming just barely any more noticeable.) I feel like this summer was a waste of my time. I wanted a flat stomach. I was tired of being the girl that's always left out and can never wear the clothes she wants! I've cut my diet to 1,200 - 1,600 calories a day. I've taken out all junk food (except when I treat myself which is just barely once a month). And I took out ALL soda from my diet. I've been running on a nightly basis, doing crunches, leg lifts, and lunges. I have been on this strict schedule for almost 2 1/2 months now. I do admit that I've slacked off before, but that's only because I have no motivation to do anything because of the lack of results im getting! I constantly feel guilty after I eat ANYTHING. Even if it is healthy! I feel like with every meal or snack I eat, im gaining 10 pounds! I'm tired of feeling this way and I just don't know what to do. I wanted to come back to school and surprise all my friends with my major weight loss, but apparently that's not happening. I am in desperate need of some help. I want to lose weight, and actually SEE results with my own eyes! Not just have my parents tell me what I want to hear. I have 3 weeks of summer vacation left and I want to lose as much weight possible in that duration My parents told me that if I work hard and set my mind to it, that I'll be flat by my birthday (December 8th.) As much as I want to believe that, I cant. I have to make it reality, but how? How do I get a flat stomach fast? How do I achieve my weight loss and see results MYSELF? Help!

more cardio. Cardio is the most important thing. Also it takes a while before you really start seeing results. You're not going to have a perfect body in a couple weeks. this takes months of dedication. I recommend getting a personal trainer. You probably haven't been doing the right workouts to lose weight. You're probably gaining weight from muscle. I know a lot of people that work out all the time yet can't get a good body and don't understand how I don't work out every day andstill have a good body. They don't know what to do at the gym. If you don't know the appropriate work outs, going to the gym is a complete waste of time

How to Lose Weight & Keep a Healthy Looking Face

Recommended Answer:

You can easily do that! Keep to moderate exercise and a healthy diet. Dieting doesn't mean you have to cut everything you love eating out of your life. It just means that if you eat two cheeseburgers, cut it back to one hamburger (no cheese). Instead of french fries, have some fresh fruit. Don't forget to eat your vegetables. So many food products contain so much crap in them nowadays. Would you want to put crap into your gas tank or gasoline? Would you want to brush your teeth with toothpaste or mustard? Why put bad things into your body when there are plenty of healthier options? As for exercise, you can do something as simple as going on a jog every morning. I did that and a healthy diet over the course or four months and dropped 56 pounds. You can do it as long as you are determined to do so! Don't forget that you can work on muscles, too. Muscles help burn fat, even though they do have weight to them. So just because one week the scale doesn't seem to go down, it could be that you are adding muscle while also losing weight, seeming to cancel each other out on the scale. Best of luck to you!

Help on losing weight?

I''m a young girl and my mom says I really do need to lose weight. I look at myself in the mirror a lot and I noticed I gained more weight. My stomache is kind of big. It kind of flops a bit. I just cannot stop eating food. Eversince my dad left me when I was about 8, I kept eating a lot and that was a problem. Before my father left me I barely ate anything at all. I was a VERY skinny person. But now, I really want to lose weight. I know there isn''t any "tricks to losing weight" but I would like to know ways how to. And remember, I am young. Older than 10 and younger than 13. (That''s all I''m giving out). Any help please?

Lose Weight in 24 Hours - 4 Easy Tips to Losing Weight Fast

Recommended Answer:
First, I''m sorry about your dad and the problems you''ve faced.
Don''t go to any extreme lengths to lose weight, that''ll just damage your body quicker. Try eating 4-6 small meals a day of a balanced diet (see a food pyramid for proper measurements). Stay away from fatty or high calorie foods, and lean more towards fresh things like fruits or veggies or nuts. I''m not a health expert, but that''s all I can suggest. Best of luck. x

  • Exercise for 40-60 minutes a day. It''s what ALL kids, tweens, teenagers need. Play soccer or kick around the ball. If you have a teadmill go on that for like 30 mins (walk or jog, don''t run on it till your safe enough) or go for walks outside.
don''t eat junk food every day, you can have them once in a while but not every hour.
Don''t do diets at this age, it isn''t good for your body if you start early.

lets say you 5''3 tall and your 110 pounds, its a good weight. You don''t want to be 95 pounds or then you will be under weight and its not good.

    hope this helps :)

How to get a flat stomach?

Ok, so, I wanna wear my bikini soon! Now some facts about myself having to do with this situation. First, I don''t eat McDonald''s! Only like once a month MAYBE!! Second, I have lots of free time I have approx.4 hours!! I have an exercising room too! My cousins stay the night tonight so I can go down with them for half an hour to exercise while I babysit.... I need answers for the following questions.. 1. Should I decrease how much I eat, if so how much? I rarely snack! 2.Should I exercise if so how much and what one? 3.What food groups help to keep fat from coming back!? 4. Anything else I should know?!

Dance To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Cut out the junk food totally, because it''s addicitive and sets up a negative cycle in your brain and body. Exercise is the better half of "dieting and exercise" by far! SO yes exercise, average 45 mins a day, 5 days a week.
The Most Important Thing You Must Understand is you need to keep your program ENJOYABLE! If your brain or body find it too painful, no matter how strongly your mind is committed to working the program, eventually, (usually less than 6 weeks) your brain will make you quit! It won''t tolerate pain.At the same time it''s so very important that you allow your body and brain time to adjust to your new training. From tendons being stretched to complicated metabolic issues, to learning proper form, pace and routines your brain and body need at least 6 weeks to line up to really get things going.
Don''t give much credit to the scale when first starting, it''s normal to retain more fluids, it''s your body''s way of being ready for the next workout. Don''t micro-manage your calories either. Sensible wholesome meals, the quality of the calories is more important than the quantity. Your diet should be ENJOYABLE too, and something you can develop and maintain as a habit.
Workout at your own pace, which in the beginning should be slower, focus more on how you move ( your form) as it''s important to how your body will shape up and that you don''t get injured. Just about any exercise is good and will work, walking, jogging, running, cycling but my favorite and number one choice for losing or gaining weight is weightlifting aka bodybuilding. If your a girl, don''t worry that you''ll get manly muscles, the average steriod-free female builds only a small amount of muscle each year. But that muscle is awesome! Because not only does it burn calories while your working and using them, and while they are repairing and replenishing themselves, but 24/ 7 they consume calories just to stay alive! Just try not to miss a single day of working out for the first 6 months without a real good reason, otherwise slacking off can become the habit. Other than taking your two scheduled days off per week. Rest is important, so get to bed at a decent time as well. Make sure you drink plenty of water everyday. Learn to drink water warm, so you can have it anytime/anywhere. Other than keeping it sensible and enjoyable, remember all the benefits you''ll get from exercising and a decent diet. You''ll sleep better, have better energy, breathing, moods, concentration, endurance, strength, self-confidence, and so much more. It''s really the closest thing to magical powers each human has, so don''t miss out! 45-60 minutes a day, 5 days a week is ideal, but by all means start with less if need be, again keeping it enjoyable is everything! One other piece of advice in this, and that''s don''t do situps! They don''t work the muscle properly so growth is very doubtful, and they risk lower back and hernia injuries. If you must, which most ppl don''t, do crunches. Most ppl don''t need to worry about their abs, they are small muscles that do alot of work already, every time you move your upper body they work, as well as working during many of your other movements, so if your working your body they are getting theirs. The diet industry has hyped up abs so much, because they know most ppl will fail, because they are too painful and produce little to no results, which they hope will lead people to buying their junk products ( it''s working, they''ve been doing it a long time) seeing your abs is a matter of having a low body fat percentage, even as a competitive Steroid-free Bodybuilder, I only do crunches starting a few weeks before a show, so I can flex my abs over and over with ease and to give them a little more definition, other than that, they''re already built from my many years of training the rest of my body and the low body fat percentage I obtain for doing shows, is only for the show, I wouldn''t consider it healthy to keep year round, and it would defiantly hinder any further muscle development. Remember the only thing your belly fat and abs have in common is location, other than that, they have nothing to do with one another, so don''t burn yourself out working your abs, when it''s your whole body that needs the workout and will produce the results you want.

Just start easy, give your body time to start providing you additional energy, keep learning more as you go, and before you know it, you''ll have the body you''ve always wanted, with the loads of extra benefits I pointed out.

  • Well i think the best diet is one lemon after every meal it burns most of the fat you habe eaten and try to eat a looot of protein like the glair of eeg milk and meat and try too cook youre meals with margarin oil or margarin butter and try to go runing for about 30 minuts every morning for a reason mornings you burn more fat while running and if you want youre stomach extra flat go hard swiming classes it realy helps im a swimmer too i eat 6 meals a day and i never get fat and i have flat stoamash with six packs .
  • To answer all of your questions accurately I would need to know much more about your current situation e.g your age, height and weight but i will give you a general answer to your questions.

    1) To answer this question i would need to know what your current calorie intake is as well as your weight and age. For an 18 year old girl who weighs 120 pounds is 5 foot 3 and exercises 3 times per week her calorie intake should be around 1800 calories and to lose weight she would reduce this to about 1400. You can you this as a benchmark for your own intake

2)If you want to lose weight then exercise is a necessity, all of us should be exercising at least 3 times per week. The type of exercise you do depends on what sort of goals you have.
If you want to be more toned and have a good bikini bod you should do some cardio as well as sit ups squats and lunges, maybe buy a yoga or fitness dvd that you can work along to in your free time.

    3) To keep the fat away you should avoid foods high in carbs, fats and sugars and have a high intake of protein and fruit and vegetables and drink about 2 liters of water per day. But remember that to be healthy you need to take everything in moderation and allow yourself a treat every so often.

    4) To tell you anything else is to set yourself goals and record your progress to keep motivated. Avoid using a scale to measure progress as daily fluctuations can cause demotivation but instead take full body pictures and compare them over time. Only one last thing to say and that''s good luck. I hope you get the body you want

Why am I not gaining weight?

I've been working out and eating 2500-3000 calories a day for about two to three weeks now and have seen absolutely no increase in weight. In fact, I was waking up to about 129 pounds a week ago, and now I am only waking up to 127. This is very depressing, because I am actually putting effort into this and seeing absoluteness no progress. I would think I'd gain at least a pound by now.

I would really like to gain about 10 pounds before college starts up in the fall, so any help would be great.
I have not been having any protein shakes lately, although I have the stuff for them. Basically at the gym I try to work out "moderately". I don't do any cardio, and I don't try to stay longer than 30-40 minutes to burn the least amount of calories possible. During that time though, I try to get a good work out.

Fastest Way to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
It seems one of the 3 things is not in order. Either you are not sleeping well and long enough, not eating enough calories everyday or you are not doing the right workout. In order to gain 1 pound of weight each week, you will need to master all 3 of it and do it diligently everyday. The starting part can be tedious and mentally draining so here are some of my personal experiences that has worked for me.

Let us start by talking about what constitutes a high calorie diet. The main thing involved is to eat a lot of carbohydrates rather than increasing your fat and protein intake during your 3 meals. Increasing your carbohydrate intake will enable your body to use the energy more efficiently rather than rely on breaking down muscles and burning fat to get you the energy you need. You will get your protein and your fat from my next diet tip which is to drink 500ml of milk in between your meals. Start with 500ml first and increase it every week until you have gained a pound or two of fat. Once you are there, you can start maintaining the amount of milk you drink and focus on the other two things which is sleep and workout.

Next, we will touch on the easiest thing to do of all in my opinion and that is to sleep. People who struggle to get enough sleep daily will find that they will not gain muscle mass and contrary, will lose weight. If you are looking to gain weight I highly suggest you to do this experiment first to know just how much sleep you need. Start by going to sleep by yourself without the influence of alcohol, sleeping pills or what nots to make you sleepy. Sleep through the night and wake up by yourself in the morning. If you can achieve this without any distractions or any drugs or alcohol, you just have to keep repeating the same amount of hours everyday. Simple.

Lastly, so many people find it hard to gain muscle mass and weight just because they do the wrong workout or jump from one workout to another before exhaustively utilize what is planned out. If you are starting out to gain weight or muscle mass I strongly encourage you to download the program off http://gohforth.com. That program has not only worked for me for years, but is also something I teach my paid clients.

  • Because its only been 3 weeks. Keep trying!
  • because its still very early.. 3 weeks is nothing at all
dont worry.. u will get there soon
    keep working harder an harder
    try whey protien an glutamine
  • How much are you exercising and what types of food are you eating? Since you weigh about 130 pounds, you burn about 1300 calories by simply being alive and breathing - this does not include exercise. If you work out vigorously, you could easily be burning another thousand or so calories, meaning that you're only adding about 300 calories to your daily diet. A pound is roughly 3500 calories - if you're only having a net gain of 300 calories a day, it'd take you over a week to even get close to gaining a single pound.

Aim to eat 3000 calories a day - you should be eating every three hours in order to keep a constant supply of food going. Focus on foods rich in protein, such as eggs, dried fruits, nuts, greek yogurt, etc. Eat plenty of pasta and whole grain bread for carbs for exercising and continue snacking ALL THE TIME. Make sure you drink at least one protein shake a day. Good luck!

Is this days food healthy or not? How could it be improved?

one typical day for a 20 year old female:

breakfast :
3x toast
1x avocado
1x cup of ice tea

lunch:
1x salad sandwich

dinner:
palm-size portion of steak
1/4 of a small pumpkin

snack:
1 cup of nuts
1 cup of watermelon

water:
6.5 - 7 litres of water

exersize:

1 hour on a stationary bike at 'light' intensity

>>> not my personal diet planning! it's for my anthropology study :)
water is for a hot climate, middle of summer.
it is supposed to be water for an 81 degrees Fahrenheit climate, how much would be appropriate?

Lose Weight, No Sweat!

Recommended Answer:
This is a difficult question to answer, only because what is "healthy" often is dictated by needs. For someone trying to get in shape versus someone who is diabetic. If you're looking for just good general health, it would seem to me this diet lacks vitamin c (which the pumpkin has very little of) and vitamin d. If you're not body building, I wouldn't recommend a daily intake of red meat.

Which nuts? Different nuts have different nutritional value.
http://www.health-alternatives.com/nut-seed-nutrition-chart.html

In any case, 1 cup of nuts is certainly a decent amount of fats. Could be improved by exchanging the meat for chicken and fish. Adding in vegetables and a small serving of fruit, such as apple, banana or orange would improve the diet. A daily cup of milk or soy milk for vitamin d. A cup of OJ or apple juice for Vitamin C.

That sounds like an insane amount of water. Recommended is 8 cups. There is such a thing as too much water. Whoever is drinking that much must be running to the toilet constantly.

  • Breakfast: Replace the bread with a bowl of oatmeal (not the instant sugar kind) add your own fresh fruit, seeds, nuts or nut butter, yogurt, egg whites, spices.

Lunch: Add some protein and only use 1 slice of a really grainy bread or whole grain tortilla.

Dinner: Replace the steak with grilled chicken, fish/seafood or turkey (even pork once in awhile, tenderloins are the best and lowest in saturated fat). Some legumes, whole grain pasta (like quinoa) or brown/wild rice and veggies.

Snack. Is fine. Maybe add some Greek yogurt with your fruit for some added protein and cut back on the fruit. 1/4 cup. Cut back on the nuts too. You don't need a cup of nut, they may have healthy fat but it appears you're already getting too much fat in your diet.

Edit: I read this was for a project after I wrote it out. So I was referring to "you" the entire time. ;)
  • As I always a balance diet is important.
Right amount of calories and vegetables, proteins.
It is important to note certain vegetables that will help you burn fat.

2. lunch like a mediocre person
3. dine like a poor person

but if u are over weight. like me. it took 5 months of making myself bored with all the food. all i had was fresh veges . boiled stuff. and mostly cornflakes. and i felt healthy. quick. and without a single day of jogging. lost 19kg.
im not joking :)

  • What makes you fat is not exercising. If you dont like exercising then im sorry to burst your bubble but its the most effective way to lose weight. I do 40 mins cardio daily.
  • To lose weight you need to burn more than you consume. Anyways maybe if you try eating 2 slices of brown toast ( crustless toast is less calories ) with a light spreading of butter if you have to for breakfast. Then for lunch either some soup or a sandwich with chicken/ham and some salad on top.And for dinner some meat with potato/pasta and veg. If you feel the need to snack through the day you should try some dry special k or some fruit. Depending on how well you have ate during the day maybe you could have 1 scoup of vanilla ice cream after dinner or a small chocolate so you are not craving junk food. Also try excersising more often could help too. Hope this helps

    Any time foods:

How do I get a thigh gap?

I have a very small one and when I say small I mean like 1/4 inch one and I need to lose stomach fat also. Please help!!

Lose Weight As You Get Older - Ezine Articles

Recommanded Answer:
If you don't have a thigh gap, you have thigh fat and you'll have to lose it. Your only choice is to lose fat and wait for the gap to appear. How long that takes will depend on your skeletal structure, pelvic width, thigh muscle size, and amount of thigh fat so there's no way to predict it. And, you may not like where else on your body the fat leaves as you diet down in body fat. For example, you could lose cup size as well.

In case you don't know how to lose fat, read my answer about how to lose fat ---> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=As615QJM4X_3ID9_05qmmlXty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20111028185603AAVcP4D

There are no exercises which will help in any significant way because spot fat reduction is impossible without surgery. Where your body stores and removes fat is determined by your genetics and there is nothing you can do to change that short of radical procedures such as liposuction. And, in general, where it stores fat first is where it will lose it last and visa versa. The world of health and fitness has an unfortunate abundance of myths and spot reduction is one of them. There is no exercise, no pill, no supplements, no spa treatment, and no natural way to spot reduce. Your only choice is to create a caloric deficit with diet and exercise, burn fat, and wait for it to leave the desired body parts.

Always remember that any exercise will burn calories but no exercise will burn fat unless your diet allows it. You can burn fat in your sleep or you can run all day and never burn any fat. It all depends on your diet.

Fat loss is determined by calorie control, not by exercise. Good exercises for burning calories are speed walking, biking, swimming, and ANY other physical activity which makes you move a lot of weight for a long time. But NO exercise is good for burning fat if you eat too many calories because you can always eat more calories than you can burn.

Too many people waste energy and time because they do not understand this one simple point. The result is too often giving up in frustration, abandoning gym memberships they continue to pay for, and many other unnecessary problems not the least of which is a lack of success.

An average person must walk about five miles every day of the week to burn the calories equivalent to a pound of body fat. So, unless you think walking five miles a day or doing that amount of exercise is for you, focus your fat loss program on diet.

Diet for fat loss. Exercise for fitness.

Also, if I keep this up while cutting calories how long will it take for me to lose any weight?

4 Simple Tips On How To Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
it might be but then it depends on the machine. some ask you for weight age and hieght so if you just started running on 'quick start' it might be more or less. in reality everything plays a factor here. how fast how long and breaks?
but hey 3 miles on 10 incline, that a serious burn.

  • no, you probably burned a fair amount, but nowhere near 1100
  • It depends upon ur speed.
  • No.

It can't be accurate. It is a matter of basic physics and human physiology.

An average-size woman will use about 70-80 calories for each mile she moves her body no matter it be strolling slowly, walking quickly, jogging, or sprinting.

Though the incline would have changed the amount of "work" your body did my guess is that it changed it to no more than 100 or so calories per mile.

I'll estimate you used 300 calories.

How cani loose weight fast with the situations I'm in?

Perfect Ways To Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

  • First, before you believe anyone is a dr. do your research on them. Before any dr. would have you do any medication, there are a lot of questions that they should of asked to see if it is safe for you to take it.

Second, Have you talked to your parents about it? Tell them you would like to make a real life-style change and that you need their support. Hopefully this will narrow down the junk food in your house and some healthier options will appear.

-Find a support group of a bunch of people who are in a similar position as you are. This is great motivation! You will find accountability partners which make great friends and they can give you some tips and advice!

Good luck in achieving your goals!

Why am I always sore and tired every single day?

Its so frustrating. It is mostly my upper back/ shoulder area along with my lower back and thighs. Ive been losing weight, I eat 1800-2000 cals a day, I exercise for 1 hour of cardio just about every day. I don't know what else to do. I started exercising so I wouldn't be sore but I am even more sore now. I am so tired all the time and have no energy to want to do anything.

Recommanded Answer:
Being sore means you are building muscle, and burning the fat from around your body. It means its working.

How do you keep your body from "adapting" to your workout and diet?

Once I started losing weight and gaining muscle, after the initial "burst" there's the plateau where the weight loss slows and it's a little harder to make progress.

What can I do to minimize this plateau?
I train Monday and Thursdays upper body, abs and interval sprints.
Tuesday and Friday lower body, abs and resistance intervals (high resistance/low resistance intervals on stepper/eliptical).
Wednesday is full 1 hour endurance cardio.
Saturday is sports; basketball, hiking, swimming..whatever I want as long as I do something. (I usually take my daughter with me)
Sunday is rest, recovery or light exercise (active recovery).

My sessions run 60-71 minutes with at least 20 minutes of cardio.
My diet is a calorie cycling diet set for about 10000 calories a week. I've lost 14 pounds in 4 weeks and increased my weights by almost 20 pounds, so I'm making good progress, but this 4 week mark is where I start to stall and plateau. I don't want to let that plateau last more than a couple of weeks.

My ultimate goal is just being in good shape.....and consistent progress.

Second.. The classic method is to cross train. Don't do the same thing all the time.
You don't say what you're doing, but if you're running try cycling or swimming, or circuit training at a gym... Whatever is available and piques your interest.
Also, doing intervals helps a lot of folks as the other contributor notes.

If you just go out and run at a steady pace for a given time... Try mixing it up. Throw in some sprints, climb a hill, go to a "parcourse" exercise course and work your way around that.

  • Change up your exercise routine. Keeps your body on its toes!
