How to Lose Weight on Lexapro

Recommended Answer:

To gain weight you need to combine protein foods with starchy carbohydrates as indicated below. Good weight gaining combinations are bread, cereals, pasta, rice, potatoes or sweet potatoes combined with meat, poultry, eggs, cheese, nuts or sea food. Peanut butter sandwiches and cheese sandwiches are good weight gaining combinations. The protein in the above combinations will help to gain extra muscles.

Other Answers:

  • The best, healthiest way to gain weight is through muscle. Since you are a football player, you probably get free access to the high school gym. Work on building muscle because muscle is much heavier than fat.

Should I become a vegetarian?

I've been trying to lose weight and get in shape. I've been dieting and exercising for a couple of months now and have seen absolutely no results whatsoever. I've gotten a little more tone, but I'm trying to go from a size 8 to a 6 or a 4. I was thinking that maybe if I just eat fruits and vegetables that I'll finally get some results. Homecoming is in late September and I want to fit into a 4 by then (I have a $300 BCBG Max Azria that I've been DYING to wear). Any tips are appreciated!

How to Lose the Flab After Losing Weight

Recommended Answer:

a lot of people lose weight on a vegetarian diet just by virtue of converting to healthier tendencies, but excluding meat wont guarantee that you'll lose a few pounds. if you eat a good mix of fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and plenty of water, and cancel out the processed crap/minimize dairy and egg intake you will at the very least be extremely healthy! combining this with rigorous exercise will help, but weight isn't always the best indicator of health (muscles weigh more than fat for example)

Other Answers:

  • animals are made to eat! they are delicious!! meat 4 life!
  • It's not meet that makes you overweight, instead of that ,it's necessery for your health, becoming a vegetarian can't help you much.Just eat less each time and have a few more meal each day.
  • Get the dress fitted for you in September and don't punish yourself with food, or try to be the world's most skinny girl ever. The only reason to be vegetarian is because you want to be HEALTHY, and maybe because you feel compassion for animals and for humans (because you understand the connection between hunger and domesticated animals). How much have you been working on strength training? Bigger muscles burn more fat, and they burn calories even while you sleep. Instead of running or cardio, work on some isometrics, calisthenics and if you can get to a gym, weights. Plus you'll look better in the dress.

How to Lose Weight by Swimming

Recommended Answer:

Don't worry, it's totally possible to lose that weight in a healthy way in 3 weeks. Just find your BMR with an online calculator, then multiply it by 1.2 if you are sedentary, 1.35 if you are lightly active, or 1.55 if you are moderately active. That is the amount of calories you need per day to maintain your weight. for most non-active women this is somewhere between 1500 and 2000. Then eat 750 calories less then that per day, and you should lose 4.5 lbs in 3 weeks, or a little more if you lose water weight too.

How to Lose Weight with Chinese Herbs

Recommended Answer:

On average, people eating reasonable portions of balanced meals gethungry about every three to five hours. Check the balance of foods youeat. Refined carbohydrates like white rice, baked goods and mostcrackers or pretzels are processed by the body fairly quickly. Thatmeans that blood sugars go up and back down rapidly, tending to leaveyou hungry again within two hours. Whole-grain breads and cereals areprocessed more slowly and may leave you satisfied longer.Studies show that hunger is satisfied longer when a meal or snackincludes a small amount of protein. That doesn't have to mean meat.Protein is also found in milk, cheese, yogurt, tofu and other soyproducts, eggs, nuts, seeds and dried beans. Also, vegetables and fruits are missing from many Americans' meals, yet they provide bulk that can help satisfy hunger.Have you let a low fat diet get too low in fat? Fat leaves the stomachvery slowly, so a small amount of fat in a meal keeps hungersatisfied. If your goal is weight loss, excess hunger could be a signthat you've cut your calories too low or that you are pushing to reacha weight that is too low for you. Finally, consider this: Are you actually physically hungry all thetime, or do you simply feel like eating? Eating when you're not hungrycan mean that eating has become a habit for coping with boredom, procrastination or stress. If this is the case for you, the key is todevelop ways to handle these situations without food.If you address all these possibilities and still feel hungry all thetime, talk with your physician. Constant hunger not related to any ofthese factors could be due to medication or a medical problem thatneeds attention.

Other Answers:

  • When your eating, you may be multi-tasking such as watching television on a computer or doing something else. You are thinking about doing something else, but you aren't actually concentrating on the taste of the food, making you over-eat and consuming too much.
  • eating sugary foods or simple carbs can make you hungrier than usual since they're easily digested, try eating more protein type foods and stick to whole grains

Am I skinny-fat? And if so, what can do to lose the "fat" part?

I am 14 years old, 5''4, and 112 pounds. I look and am considered skinny (not abnormally or unhealthily so, but just very slender) but when I take my clothes off I have a rather bloated tummy with little pouches of fat on the side. The rest of my body is just thin---my arms look toned and my legs look toned but my legs definitely could be more toned. Do I fit under the description of skinny-fat?

I really do not watch my diet---I''m a compulsive overeater and stock up on chocolate and all sorts of other sugary or otherwise unhealthy foods. And while I am an active/hyper person (always jumping or hopping or running around or whatever) I do not actually participate in sports or formal exercise.

What are the effects of eating just one full meal a day?

Okay, so I''m planning to lose some belly fats so yeah. I started eating just a full meal everyday and a small amount of food intake in the other meals like some biscuits or fruits. Will it help?? And what excercise can I do?? Those that don''t require any tool if possible. Thanks. I''m 13 btw.

Stop Trying to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
It''s not healthy to eat one meal a day even for a fully grown adult, let alone a 13 year old. Your body''s like a car - a car needs petrol to run, and you need food for energy so you can get through the day. You won''t lose weight by starving yourself - you''ll lose weight by eating the right foods and exercising.

Instead of cutting down how much you eat, cut down the fat and sugar in your food. If you don''t know how to read a label, ask your parents or an older sibling or whatever, and find out how much your daily intake for certain foods should be. Eat lots of food with protein, iron, vitamins and minerals (and a bit of carbohydrates), like wholemeal breads, rice and pasta, lean meats and fish, vegetables (beans especially!), eggs and nuts and seeds. You can snack as much as you like, but make sure its not junk food like chips or chocolate bars.

As for exercise, walking is probably the easiest and best thing you can do. I like walking myself, because I don''t need any special equipment and I can do it at my pace. The trick is to modify for your needs. A very fit person will need to walk faster to achieve the same result as an unfit person. Go for a walk and as soon as you feel out of breath, slow down a little. It does nothing for you to be huffing and puffing and feeling as though you''re gonna collapse. Once you''ve done this for a little while, you''ll find it gets much easier, and you''ll be able to modify even more to suit your new fitness level.

I used to struggle with my weight quite a bit and I felt very insecure about it. Good luck, and I hope this helps! If you have any more questions you can email me at katiekoalabear@ymail.com if you like.

And NO do not listen to people when they say you need to eat 500 calories a day - you''ll starve!

  • Listen little buddy , you are not doing that.
Why? , because no one in this world would say so , and its not reasonable.
you need to eat 3 meals a day low in calories . if you want to lose a pound of Fat
you need to eat 500 calories a day. why?
    1 pound of fat = 3500 calories
    500 calories a day x 7 days a week = 3500 calories.
    Easy math.

so there you go , Not just eating a big ol''meal a day its not gonna help you at all

    Hope it helps.
  • 1200 calories are necessary. Anything else slows metabolism
Depending on if you eat anything else eating 1 full meal a day will also slow your metabolism

Exercise - cardio. That is running, walking, biking, swimming, ect
Takes months to lose weight. Eat healthy, dirnk plenty of water.
  • Eating one meal a day would probably more likely put your body into starvation and start eating muscular rather than fat. Your body requires a certain amount of calorie consumption a day even if you just lie in the bed whole day with your eyes open, you should aim for the suggested amount of daily calories as a minimum & when your metabolic rate is balanced only then will you start burning fat.

Do diets which put you into ketosis work better than lower calorie?

So if you have a normal diet 1200 cals and a low carb atkins like diet 1200 cals, would you see better results on low carb diets? I''ve already lost almost 92 pounds. I want the last 20 off already. Cant wait till i lose the rest! im excited but not very patient.

What Do You Think The Fastest Way To Lose Weight Is?

Recommended Answer:
My preference is to go directly to ketosis skipping the fat laden and protein laden meat that is very difficult to digest and tough on your internal organs. I go on a water fast (consuming only water) under strict supervision of my naturopath. This causes ketosis and also cleanses the body and removes toxins rather than add to the internal pollution. It''s even faster than than the Atkins diet, It is safer because you are medically supervised. For details read:

Fasting and Eating for Health: A Medical Doctor''s Program for Conquering Disease by Joel Fuhrman and Neal D. Barnard (Apr 15, 1995)

I lost 90 pounds without hunger or a feeling of deprivation by eating a whole plant based diet. I fast every six months or so for five days. Under a clinical setting people fast for 10 to 20 days drinking nothing but pure water. This can reverse many common medical conditions.

Sadly, Atkins is less effective and is very stressful on internal organs. A water fast cleanses the organs and improves most blood indicators. It''s important to distinguish between refined carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. There is absolutely no need to consume simple carbohydrates such as refined sugar, refined oils, alcohol, caffeine, excess salt, food additives, and other fast food ingredients. On the other hand, vegetables are complex carbohydrates and contain micronutrients that help you maintain excellent health. My weight loss was without much effort because I ate a balanced vegetarian diet without meat (beef, poultry, pork, fish) and without dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, eggs). There is plenty of protein in a balanced vegetarian diet especially in legumes (beans, peas, lentils), whole grains (brown rice, quinoa), and dark leafy greens (kale, chard, collard). The dark leafy greens have plenty of iron and calcium. Dairy is highly allergenic and not all that the dairy associations assert.

The bulk (fiber) in vegetables helps make you feel full after a meal. The complete complement of nutrients also works to end binges. Sadly, most Americans are addicted to junk food and will experience withdrawal symptoms when they change to a healthier diet. These withdrawal symptoms (false hunger, nervousness, headache, irritability) will end after the first 3-4 days. As your health improves, you will need to reduce or eliminate medications you are taking, especially cholesterol lowering drugs (statins). They have adverse effects, especially during water fasts.

Low calorie diets and Atkins don''t work in the long-term for the vast majority of people regardless of their motivation and willpower. In contrast, a whole plant based diet works without having to experience deprivation or hunger. You will feel so much better that your feeling of well being will keep you eating this way.

Lose Weight Fast - How NOT to Lose Weight Fast!

Recommended Answer:
Eat salads, start walking that is the best thing. Play in gym during school. Time yourself while your walking like you have to get home in 30 minutes or less (get me) Join a sport you like.
Do some yoga that is on tv.

  • Exercise is good for you in a great many ways, but by itself does little for weight control. If you work out very hard you will burn more energy, but you will also be hungrier and want to eat more.

No matter how hard you work, to lose fat you MUST limit your calorie intake to less than what it takes to stay the same weight (yes, that means dieting.)
If you don’t track your daily calories consumed, you will have no idea what you’re doing.
