I'm a 6 foot 4 male and weigh 270 pounds and i am 16, i would really like to start working out and losing some weight by running and doing squats and other things like pushups. but i lack the knowledge on what to do and how to do it. i was just wondering if anyone had something like a training schedule or a website that explains the way to do different things like crunches, the correct way because the last thing i need is a injury. any info would be greatly appreciated.

How to Lose Weight Fast Without Buying Anything

Recommended Answer:

Hi Kelsey, First, I would not cut your calorie intake because you are still growing and you need all the nutrients the food will give you. I would advise you to eat several small meals( 6 small meals instead of 3 large meals) throughout the day to keep your energy level up and increase your metabolize.( all kinds of veggies, fruits, nuts( sparingly if you do not have an allergy to them) all kinds of beans and brown rice, and fish. Second, Exercise for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening.( There are exercise videos on you tube or you could take a walk or ride a bike at the park, take laps in a swimming pool, go skating at a rink, go kick a soccer ball around. Find some friends to do all these activities with and you will have greater success.) Drink plenty of water during and after your workout. Have a small protein drink after workouts. You can purchase protein powder at a health food store. Just watch what you eat, keep active, get plenty of sunshine( early morning sun is nice) and breathe deeply. All this will help keep your body beautiful and healthy. =)

A glucose spike will always result in an insulin spike, which ultimately results in fat storage. On average, protein rich foods are best at keeping blood glucose low with carbohydrate rich foods being the worst. Similar effects can also been seen in fats -- animal fats -- which keeps body fat and hunger at bay.
  • Do exercises like stepping, running they might helps you a lot and avoid fatty foods like junk and fast food.
  • There are many way to do that but most impotent thing is what way you link to do it. There are many ways link drinking water, doing regular jogging on the morning, swimming or taking pills to lose your weight.

I am a guy thinking about doing yoga?

I am looking for answers from people who are experienced in yoga please. I have been interested in doing yoga, but there''s things about it that I don''t know. I don''t have a good idea of what to expect. I have no idea what to wear. I''m not a weight lifter or sports person, I had lifted weights for some time, but other things got in the way of that and it''s been a while, also I was kind of tired of the pick up and put down heavy things idea. I''m not fit and I''m not at all fat, average I guess, is this an issue? I also don''t have the greatest back, it used to give me a lot of problems before I lifted weights and exercised. I have yet to have any issues with my back since then, but like I said it''s been a while since I''ve done those things, but still I have to lift things at work and I''ve been fine, do you see my back being an issue with yoga? Lastly, I live in an area where mostly women would do yoga, I have no problem doing yoga with women, I read that some classes use partners and I have no problem touching or being touched by women, but I don''t want to be looked at as a pervert, does that seem like something common in yoga, men being looked at as perverts at a yoga class? I haven''t found any all male classes in my area. Thank you for your input.

Yoga would be a great choice for you. Theres nothing perverted about helping your yoga partner and nobody in the class would look at your like you''re a pervert unless you act like one...

I live in a liberal area where men are comfortable doing yoga so you see a lot of them in classes. They''re not viewed as gay or girly or perverted. They''re just there to do yoga like the women there are!

Yoga will give you flexibility, balance and coordination like other exercises will not. It will help you get in better shape and help you mentally besides just physically. A lot of tough professional athlete men do it these days! Even Tony Horton dedicated a workout to yoga in yoga x on p90x.

If you feel so uncomfortable starting in a class, you can get the workout program The Ultimate Yogi from Travis Eliot. Its like the p90x of yoga. You can do it in your living room or anywhere you have space in your house or apartment. Its fine if you''re not in shape. This and powerwalking everyday will get you in great shape if you keep a clean diet. You will lose weight like this.

You can also look into Rodney Yee Power Yoga. He has dvds for beginners. Also try pilates! Winsor pilates has some of the best and she has a pilates weight loss program now.

People who say you can''t lose weight with yoga or get into shape don''t know anything about yoga or fitness.

  • If you are trying to lose weight, gain weight or stay fit, I don''t think Yoga does any of that. How about biking, hiking, swimming, bowling, archery, tennis, badminton...

Join a gym; the trained staff knows which equipment you should use and for how long to get the look you are trying to achieve.

Am I really supposed to eat 2,000 calories per day?

Most people say that you''re supposed to and according to my BMR and activity level I''m supposed to be eating 1,800 minimum. Honestly, I eat far below that. I don''t think I''ve gotten up to 2,000 calories more than once or twice in my life. On an average day, I probably eat 900-1,200 calories. I''m not anorexic and I''m not trying to lose weight. I just eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and we don''t own any high calorie foods. 2,000 calories sounds like a very large amount of food. Is that really what we need?

Fast Ways to Lose Weight - Do Such Methods Exist and Are They Effective Over the Long Term?

Recommended Answer:
No, you don''t need that. My BMI says that I need about 1200 calories daily, and that''s what you follow. If 2000 calories is too much for your body, then it''s too much, just like it''s too little for others. Eat what you feel comfortable with.

  • I think that if you are obtaining all the necessary nutrients: carbs, protein, vitamins A-K, iron, etc, there isn''t anything wrong with trailing under the 2,000 calories.
    :)
  • One should have 1500 to 2000 calorie per day is good.Eating more of vegetables and fruits are nice,if you want to count your intake calories use this link.

16 Reasons to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don''t eat wheat then you don''t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don''t eat junk food, and you don''t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It''s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

  • Work out 30 minutes everyday and cut out all soda, high fat foods and honestly eating salad every meal isn''t the best, still eat meat but make sure all of fruits for energy and veggies too, don''t try weight loss pills also make sure to keep your metabolism up but eating regularly and almost the same time every single day, run more than weight lift if you work out because if you weight lift you will just grow muscle mass and actually gain weight, it''s not a bad thing but if your focused of loosing weight and that''s it it''s prolly best to run
  • hydroxycut baby! You know what food to eat. If it comes in a package don''t eat it. Fruit, veggies, lean meat (fish, turkey, skinless poultry) legumes...mmmm! water, water,water...try to avoid other liquids. Drink it ice cold, trust me. Exercise---> I prefer sprints bc it burns fat like a mofo, or 30 mins of cardio but that also burns a lot more muscle compared to sprints, resistance training. I also lift 5x a week. Chest/tris, back and bis, shoulders, legs, another back and bi day. (only been going hard on back and bi''s bc i want bigger). 45 mins is sufficient, but I feel it isn''t enough. Usually takes an hour and half b4 i''m done lifting. But train hard and you will be happy with your results. I been taking hydroxycut bc I wanna burn the excess fat. It''s great but not necessary. I''ve gone from 205->195 in 18 days my clothes are fitting a lot better and i have maintained my str. But my diet has changed completly so it isn''t a substitute so you can eat trashy.
  • exercise at least an hour a day. it doesn''t have to be hard core, just simple walking on a track will do. a combination of aerobics and muscle training is ideal. also, try to eat many whole foods, and have healthy alternatives when craving things. (honey, blueberries, bananas, etc.) and, maybe most importantly, drink A LOT of water(not enough to drown, though...) and don''t try to lose the weight too fast. that can bite back in the future.

    hope this helps. : )

What kind of diet am I following?

So, I recently started a diet suggested to me by my doctor, but she didn't really give me much detail about what the purpose is and how it works (scientifically speaking). My doctor was very ambiguous about it and assumed I just knew what I was supposed to do. What I would like to know is what I can eat, what I shouldn't eat, etc. Is this a gluten free diet? I'm limited by a budget, I am overweight and this is the first time I actually follow a strict diet. Any other suggestion are more than welcome as long as they're healthy and justified. Basically the diet consists of the following rules:
-Don't eat bread, pasta, rice or sugar
-Don't drink regular or diet soda.
-Don't eat fried foods
-Only eat fruits in the morning.
-Last meal should be no later than 6pm
-Drink ~half a gallon of water a day.

Quickest Way to Lose Weight - How Lose Weight Quickly

Recommanded Answer:
This is a simple, ordinary, healthy no-name diet. Seriously. It's how most people should eat depending on genetics and geographical location. An Eskimo couldn't be healthy eating the diet of someone who lives in a tropical area.

The only exception you might make to the general guide you were given is sprouted whole grains which digest differently than non sprouted and is ok for some who have minor gluten sensitivity. If you're supposed to be on a gluten free diet, you can check out recipes and suggestions at www.celiac.org For gluten free, try buckwheat! Awesomely yummy AND healthy! Especially buckwheat pancakes.

I would also suggest reading labels to avoid anything with the word "hydrogenated" since those are trans fats and are included an ingredient in all kinds of food products.

  • Water and bodybuilding go hand in hand. Drinking plenty of water is absolutely essential when following a bodybuilding method. This is because when exercising, they not only sweat a lot, but the muscles lose some of their water as well. You need to drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated. Since the body is about 80% water, it can become stressed quickly if the water level is not replenished. You can live without food, but you cannot live without water. In order for all the body processes to happen, water is the key ingredient for breaking down protein in to amino acids and enabling your body to make use of the nutrients from the food.
