Am I really supposed to eat 2,000 calories per day?

Most people say that you''re supposed to and according to my BMR and activity level I''m supposed to be eating 1,800 minimum. Honestly, I eat far below that. I don''t think I''ve gotten up to 2,000 calories more than once or twice in my life. On an average day, I probably eat 900-1,200 calories. I''m not anorexic and I''m not trying to lose weight. I just eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and we don''t own any high calorie foods. 2,000 calories sounds like a very large amount of food. Is that really what we need?

No, you don''t need that. My BMI says that I need about 1200 calories daily, and that''s what you follow. If 2000 calories is too much for your body, then it''s too much, just like it''s too little for others. Eat what you feel comfortable with.

  • I think that if you are obtaining all the necessary nutrients: carbs, protein, vitamins A-K, iron, etc, there isn''t anything wrong with trailing under the 2,000 calories.
    :)
  • One should have 1500 to 2000 calorie per day is good.Eating more of vegetables and fruits are nice,if you want to count your intake calories use this link.
