How to Lose Weight in a Month

Recommended Answer:

First of all honey, you are NOT fat. Overweight you might be, but you're not fat. It's only because of your height, don't feel this way. I used to be 5'0 and 120 or more so I know how it feels (although I've lost weight). It actually is possible to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks if I did but mine was probably water weight or something. It was mostly because I never really exercised at all before and exercising and eating less made a big difference so if you barely or never exercised before then it's possible. First, you need a diet plan and diet has a BIG effect on weight loss (70%) and exercise (30%). Second, you must never eat below 1,200 calories, that is the minimum and there is a reason for that. See, the first time I lost weight, I ate very little like 600 calories a day and over the school year I gained back 7 or the 10 pounds I lost, going from 120 to 110 to 117 and now I'm 110 again and you'll probably regret it cause by then it will be harder to lose weight so always eat healthy. A plan I like and sounds really helpful to me is eat a bigggggg breakfast. It should be your biggest meal of the day, like toast, milk and cereal and a English muffin or something. For lunch, it should be your second largest so like say a turkey sandwich with a salad. For dinner, it should be your smallest so something like a small salad or fruits and you can get a plateful if you want like grapes, apples, banana, etc. and don't eat after dinner. Drink water to curb your hunger. As for your injury, yes hula hooping will help so definitely do that and it burns about 300 or 320 per hour so that's about 5 per minute. I suggest counting your calories too, it helps. :) You can also add in your BMR (basic metabolic rate, you can find it online just google "calculate BMR" or something) to your total calories burned. Everything you do burns calorie, you can try stretching but idk if that's good for your injury.. Anyways, good luck! Eat lots of fruit and vegetable, good types of fat, and protein. (Try wheat bread too and natural peanut butter)

Other Answers:

  • eat nothing, but fruits and veggies and meat at least once a week
  • Just try and eat 5 small meals a day and by small, I mean a portion smaller then your fist. Also, drink lots of water. Do not eat fast food at all and try and stay away from breads.
  • i eat 3 times a day with smaller portions than i did before. i drink lots of water and eat lots of veggies. been doing this for 4 months and i went from 155 to now 125.

How to Lose Baby Weight After Two Years

Recommended Answer:

•Eat breakfast around the same time each day. If you tend to sleep in on weekends, eat as soon as you wake up.•Avoid making sugary cereals, waffles, pancakes, French toast, breakfast pastries or instant oatmeal the sole focus of your breakfast. If you must splurge and eat something with refined sugars, balance it with protein or fiber.•Drink plenty of water. Studies suggest that consistently drinking water throughout the day can lead to a more active metabolism, regardless of dieting. Drinking more water also helps your body flush out waste and improves your overall health.•Aerobic exercises, which get your heart pumping, burn calories quickly and facilitates fat loss all over, including your belly. You can't spot-burn belly fat, but it's usually the first to burn off when you exercise, regardless of body shape or size.

How can I avoid becoming too fat while pregnant?

I am 20 1/2 weeks pregnant now. I've gained approximately 13-15 pounds.I feel like there is no excuse for this weight gain, and I feel disgusting and fat already.I was anorexic before getting pregnant, I am still anorexic in thought, but not in action (I eat normally and will for my pregnancy and while breast feeding). But i just feel so fat and gross everyday now, my stomach sticks out and whenever I eat anything, I get bloated. If I've already gained up to 15 pounds and I'm only 20 weeks pregnant, will I gain way too much weight by the end of this?I hear a lot of people say, "who cares! you're pregnant, enjoy it while it lasts" But I am not viewing it that way. I know that whatever weight I gain during pregnancy, I will want to lose as soon as possible afterwards, so why make the job any harder?Right now I'm eating between 1200-1500 calories a day. I walk 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes to an hour in the evenings. It's very hot where I am right now, so I can't be outside in the sun during the day. But I try to stay active around the house, cleaning, juggling, and doing a little bit of martial arts katas (no contact of course).

How to Lose Weight in the Face in a Week

If you were underweight to start, you will expect to gain at least 30 lbs by the time baby gets here. I was considered underweight with my first baby, I was 112 lbs (5'7") at my first prenatal, my OB expected me to gain about 35 pounds by my due date. I gained about 33. Most of this is water, blood, baby, breast tissue, and minimal maternal reserves (fat). I did not have an eating disorder before pregnancy, I was just very active and very thin. I lost 15 pounds the day of delivery and all but 5-7 pounds within 4 weeks or so.During your first and second trimesters, it is recommended to eat a 2000 calorie/day diet, and about 2200 calorie/day in your third. I hope your OB knows your history, I would recommend having him/her refer you to a dietitian who can help you make good, healthy food choices for both you and your baby.

Other Answers:

  • I gave birth a little less than 4 weeks ago. I weighed about 95 lbs before getting pregnant. I am now 11.6 lbs over that. I didn't watch my weight at all when I was pregnant. I ate all of the time, although it wasn't unhealthy food.I haven't done any extra walking to loose weight. I still eat the same, and do everyday walking. Don't try to limit how many calories you eat just because you don't want to gain weight. Try to think of your baby. An underweight baby is a lot worse than disliking how you look for 19 1/2 more weeks.

My dog is 13 how long will he live?

He is a mix Pomeranian/cocker spaniel he runs fast but when he walks its slow and needs a humidifier. My sister took OUR dog so I only keep him 2 days out of the month. I feel like o e day he will just die an I can't take the sudden death it will feel horrible. I hate waiting for that day. Any tips to keep him alive longer? He looks the same as when he was younger just slower

The Best Way to Lose Weight With Hypothyroidism

The lifespan of dogs really depends upon multiple factors, one being the breed. All living things get slower as they age. No one is as lively as they were 10 years ago. Sadly, nothing lives forever...And as much as you love your dog, you cannot keep him alive forever. For now, just make sure he is healthy, on a good diet, and getting plenty of excercise. Other than that, there is nothing you can do that can make him live longer. When it is his time, it is his time,

Other Answers:

  • A healthy diet and regular exercise is important. Try to walk him daily and ay with him much.
  • Just keep on doing what you're already doing it takes good dog owners to keep them alive this long, but if you are genuinely scared for him start taking him on slightly shorter walks and feed him senior food or get some treats that are meant to help with joint pain and movement.
  • No one can answer that just enjoy each day with your dog .
  • As long as he will live. No one here can say "Your dog has 4 mouths, 23 Days, and 43 minutes left in his life." We simply can't tell you how long something has to live.

Need help gaining weight.?

I''m 6 foot and 165 pounds. I''ve been working out for a couple of months now and I''m trying to gain weight. I want to get to around 185-200 lbs. I have been 165 lbs for a long a time and have not gained a pound. After a workout I will drink a protein shake, 2 scoops, and will usually have a chicken breast, hamburger, or pasta. I also do cardio everyday because I try to maintain my endurance for hockey. What else should I do, or not do?
Also I''m trying to gain muscle weight not fat, so don''t tell me to eat junk food.

Help Me Lose Weight by Burning Fat in the Gym

Recommended Answer:
If you are looking to gain 20-35 pounds, you need to eat a high calorie diet to help you supplement the calories needed to build muscles as well as help you meet the calorie requirement daily. The next thing you need is to also sleep consistently and also do the right workout regime. It seems that diet is even more important for you to get right as you are doing hockey which burns a lot of calories in both your practice sessions as well as your competition. Here is what I do recommend to help you. Remember that this will take around 20-35 weeks to achieve, so do not give up before the time is up.

In terms of diet, it is important to consider eating a high calorie diet filled with natural food. The foods you should eat more of are bread, pasta, potatoes, biscuits and rice. This will help give you energy to work on the pitch as well as give you the ability to gain weight by making your calorie intake higher than your output. You can also try adding milk into your diet to help you get the protein you need to help you to repair muscles which is the healthy way to gain and maintain weight. I would recommend starting out by drinking 500ml of milk 3 times each day if you are not lactose intolerant. Weigh yourself once every week and see if your weight increase, if not simply drink a 100ml more of milk each time. Once you spot a gain of 1-2 pounds, then it is time to hit the workout room and get proper rest.

The important thing to prime yourself up to gain muscle mass as weight is to sleep well. If you do not rest enough, your muscles and immune system will take a hit and make gaining weight even harder. Even though this may seem simple, it took me a while to get the hang of it and to apply it on a consistent basis. One test I would like you to try is to sleep and wake up by yourself on a day where you have no activities plan ahead. Take note of how many hours you need to sleep and keep repeating that daily in order to ensure that you gain the weight you need as well as keep your immune system strong so that you will not fall sick which will cause you to lose weight.

The last thing is to spot what workout fits you best. So far, I have found the workout at http://gohforth.com extremely good in terms of helping me and my clients to gain weight. I was able to consistently put on a pound a week without suffering much downtime. There were also months I can gain close to 5 pounds which is an extremely big motivation to spur me on to train, sleep and eat properly. Perhaps you could give it a try and see if it changed your life like it did for me.

  • This is gonna sounfpd really wierd but have you seen the movie mean girls? She gives this girl these wierd protein bars from africa and says it will help her lose weight but really makes her gain weight like crazy and she goes from a size 2 to 5+ in a mepatter of weeks.
  • Eat pizza and junk and stuff AFTER you work out. Thats easier than loosing
  • Eat lots of protein and work out hard. Do it again and again.

How to Burn Fat Without Losing Weight

Recommended Answer:
Not if you stuff your face.
You still need to restrict your calories.

You have over 100lbs to lose. That will never come off quick. 1-1.5 years for that weight loss is a realistic goal. For your height you should aim for an over all final weight of 150.
If you slow down and set small but realistic goals you will be more successful.

I think your money will be much better spent joining a gym. Insanity is very difficult, even for a very fit person who is of normal weight. The heavier you are the harder it is and there is always a risk of you not completing it because it''s too hard. A gym would be a better use of your money because you have far more options. You can swim, bike, do stairs, elliptical, run, do weights etc. Plus Insanity will get old after a while. You won''t want to do the same thing all the time long term. Remember to keep the results you have to keep up that level of activity for as long as you want the results. You can''t stop as soon as you get what you want.

  • Eat green veggies ,and avoid meat and its products ,
when you buy packaged food look at the labels, so they have no corn starch, or saturated fat in them and sugar as well.
and exercise a lot ,and get more water.
but I think its better to go to a doctor, he will give you the appropriate schedule,
    Good luck

How can I stick to my diet?

So I''m trying to loose about 20-25 lbs, and I''m starting nutrisystem. I have gone on other diets, but with little success. What is a way I can stick to my diet this time?

Help Me Lose Weight by Burning Fat in the Gym

Recommended Answer:
I am on a weight loss journey too. I take a Thermo-Lean supplement an hour before meals. I don''t eat as much. Also I drink lots of water! I was thinking of Nutrisystem . I hear its expensive.
Hope you achieve your goal

  • Follow it. Think about the money you are spending to be on nutra system - and how it will be wasted if you dont follow it.
  • Many people go on diets and they are able to lose weight but they are unable to keep the weight off.
That''s because no one can can eat like that for the rest of their life. So when they get off the diet, they gain the weight back. Instead you have to lose weight without giving up your favorite foods and suffering and starving yourself.

I know what you are going through. I been through the same cycle many times. It''s not only important that you eat healthy but also the timing of your meals. It''s not just about eating less and exercising more. It''s about controlling your blood sugar and insulin levels with your diet and exercise.
When you eat your blood sugar goes up an your body responds by secreting insulin to lower your blood sugar and help the sugar go into the various cells that need it. All the excess blood sugar gets stored in the fat cells.
When our cells need energy and there is no more sugar in our blood, then our body turns to our fat cells for energy.
Here''s where it gets tough. Our bodies are unable to access the energy to burn the fat if we still have a high insulin level.
***In order to burn fat, you must make sure that your insulin levels are low. What this to see how it works and how you can have better control of your fat burning.

  • okay, to get into shape , speed up your metabolism, rid yourself of excess fat and lose weight ,,,,,do as follows:

Stop drinking & smoking (if you do this regularly)
eat fruits & vegetables all you can (buy a slow cooker /food steamer & rice/pasta cooker to make it easy on you)...(vegetables might not seem "tasty", like junk foods,, but can be as you aquire your taste to them..and are loaded with energy and nutrients)...avoid all junk food, cokes, sweets, etc...and drink mainly water (green tea , juice & milk being the other options you drink). If you eat meat ,,use only steamed, baking or grilled methods for preparing fish or chicken.

also, do an hour of walking each day at least. or some type of excercise.

    * you should lose about 10 lbs per month

Don''t expect to see dramatic results in a short period of time. Start by making goals for yourself! What I did was look at myself in the mirror and see what I wanted to change and start writing it down. I myself am super insecure about my body. Make a log on your computer or better yet make a journal! Weigh yourself and write it down in your journal. This will be your starting weight. I started keeping pictures of my dream body from tumblr and put it in my phone (a little weird, yes, but it motivates you!). I looked on weight loss blogs and Instagrams and they have plenty of little facts that are helpful like what to eat, exercises, etc. YouTube has a bunch of work out videos for women that can be leveled from beginning and you can work your way up from there! Keeping a healthy diet makes a HUGE difference. Cut out soda, fast food, obvious things. Drink plenty of water. Seriously, no soda or energy drinks or Powerade or any of that. You''re literally drinking sugar. In your journal record how many calories you''ve burned every time you go to the gym and try to beat it the next time you go. The more you work out/eat healthy you''ll start feeling a lot better and less mopey and tired. Get a good nights sleep. Whatever you do don''t starve yourself. Remember to portion well. I used to starve myself and went all the way down to 95 pounds, then I started eating again and gained TEN pounds so fast! And your cravings go up! Fat gets stored in your body and it''s just bleh. When I first started working out I felt like I was getting bigger and felt like giving up, but it was just fat turning into muscle and my body needed time to adjust and i began slimming down. Another thing is to go on a mini shopping spree! I find shopping for work out clothes and water bottles and little things like that get me excited for the next time i work out. If you are really craving something and can''t take it anymore, go ahead and eat it, but in moderation. Eventually you can eat whatever you wants as long as you don''t eat a lot of it. I know I have so much more to say but I think this is the main points. Good luck!

  • it takes time, it doesn''t work overnight my dear. just wait and work hard for the results. it''ll be all worth it :-)
  • Of course you''re not going to get results after one week. What did you think was going to happen... And what would you consider to be a good diet? People have no clue. Try going on a no carb diet and you will see results after about three weeks if you are strict. Diet is ten times more important then actually exercising for wight loss. If you''re going to exercise, walk. It burns more fat than running.
  • I am 5"4.5 and weighed almost 200 lbs when I came to stay with my mother (husband deployed). Needless to say we were both unhappy with me, when I started on the treadmill I could barely do a 2.0 pace, I was so out of shape. I have made myself do the treadmill at least 4-5x a week and am now up to a 3.8 pace on a 10 incline for 25 min minimum 5x a week. I have added pushups and forward lunges (great for butt toning) and well as squats and sit-ups. Make sure todo these in reps rather than just a bunch at once. What kept me going personally was I wanted to look good for my husband and get in shape for the jobs I''m interested in. I didn''t see any results at first, it was frustrating. Due to having a heavier bone structure I refuse to go by the scale and prefer "do I like what I see in the mirror?". I''m now wearing dresses I wore as a teenager over 12 yrs ago.

Does Curves Complete work for a smaller, slightly overweight woman? (10 lbs over)?

I'm wondering, because I'm noticing my larger female counterparts are losing weight quicker. I'm 140 pounds, and need to lose about 10 of that. Here's what I'm thinking:

Larger women were probably eating 3000+ calories a day, due to their food habits. Now that they are put on the 1400 calorie diet, and working out, they are reducing calorie intake, and burning the rest by working out, therefore, results. Because I am 140 pounds anyway, and put on this "diet" that is really my NORMAL intake (140X10 cals a pound=1400), and I am only burning 400 calories a day, THAT is why I'm not even losing a pound week, like the plan claims. 400X7 days a week=2800 calories burned, and there are 3500 cals in a pound. therefore, ALMOST a pound burned. I'm really burning about .75 pounds, as opposed the the 1.0 I'm supposed to.

Any one else see this flaw? I get weighed once a week, and get let down everytime because not even a pound has been burned. I think I need to be on a 1200 cal diet.

BTW, I work out 5 times a week and do an ADDITIONAL 4 Zumba classes....

Thoughts? I'd love your feedback.

Fastest Way to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Are you following the Curves Complete plan or watching others who are following it? I'm a little uncertain due to the wording of your title. If you aren't following it and asking if it would work for you, then the answer is YES! If you are following it and you're asking for advice on how to get better results, here are some things to think about:

The meal plan needs to be followed closely. It's not only about how much you eat (straight calories in) vs WHAT you eat and when! It's important to eat the snacks to keep your metabolism going throughout the day. It's important to make sure you choose good substitutions if things aren't specifically listed in your plan. You want a good balance of carbs, fats, protein, etc. As a general guideline no female is recommended to go below 1200 calories a day.

Your workouts need to be evaluated. Are you really pushing yourself every time? I'm not sure if they have Curves Smart at your particular club but that is a good way to measure your workout intensity! Use your tag if they do! Otherwise is your heart rate up like it should be every time you reach the stepper machine? Are you breaking a sweat? If not you know you need to push harder. If you ARE working out very hard, it's possible you could be training a little aggressively and might need to eat a little MORE! Our bodies are funny about this (especially when we're trying to trim the last few pounds!) and will go into defense mode to store the fat that we have if we aren't fueling them enough. Workouts should not only be about burning calories to create a deficit but also for maintaining and increasing muscles. If you are a heavy trainer you actually need to eat BACK some of the calories you burn! You might want to pick a few days a week and actually add in a small meal (maybe 300 cals - make sure it's something healthy) and see if that will rev up your metabolism some.

You say that you haven't been seeing results on the scale, but have they been measuring you? Are your inches changing at all? Check the inches and body fat %. Sometimes we get an unrealistic goal of a "weight" we want when really we should focus on the size and shape of our body!

As far as weight loss goes, we tell people you can lose 1-2 pounds a week because that's the most you should aim to lose to get pure fat loss. Especially as a slightly overweight person - larger people can get bigger numbers at first because of exactly the things you said! Generally speaking, an aggressive approach is to lose 1% of your overall body weight per week. Your max per week should be around 1.4 pounds so if you were to lose .75 in a week that would actually be pretty reasonable.

Sorry if this is a little long or random, there are so many factors to this and I'm trying to touch a little on everything. If you ARE following the Curves Complete plan this is something you should discuss with your coach! She should be able to help you get through this plateau. If you aren't on the program then it might be just what you need.

Why does my sister watch fat people?

I have a 20 year old sister who constantly watches documentaries about fat people especially when shes eating I always catch her watching fat people and she denies it.Her weight is almost a 112 lbs and she always says that she is so fat and she wants to lose weight.I think she has issues and I think maybe she watches these obese people because it makes her feel skinny and she eats while watching them because it dosent make her feel guilty about the food she eats.I am not sure whats wrong with her what do you guys think?

Simple Tips To Lose Weight And Burn Calories

She is just plain terrified of getting fat. No wonder the bad attitudes towards fat people are varied, from outright hate, to subtle judgment and rejection. In the later case people would say they are just being over sensitive, they have no idea of the constant negative messages people direct toward those with extra weight. It all adds up to nothing less than harassment, that's not an exaggeration.

  • maybe nothing's wrong and you should stop being to goddam paranoid and let her do what she wants

    get a life or something
  • 112 ain't fat you idiot
  • Maybe she has an eating disorder.

What does percent body fat vs. weight loss tell you?

Over the last year I've lost about 38 lbs from running, swimming and using Weight Watchers. I started at 170 lbs and am now at 132 lbs.
I just had a skin fold test done though, and apparently my percent body fat is still 31.96%. From what I've read online, that seems to still be in the obese range. What does this mean, am I obese? I am 5'3" and 25 years old. According to a BMI chart, my healthy weight range is 113 lbs to 141 lbs.
I'm confused about how to interpret this information, and feeling really discouraged. I would appreciate any information. Thank you!

4 Simple Tips On How To Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
Forget about percent body fat. It's meaningless to you because, if you're like most of us, you're only interested in how you look and how you feel and those variables are not about a number.

If you looked at the Wikipedia article, you probably saw the descriptions of weight going from average to obese. That's a rather poor way to describe body fat. There should be an overweight in between those, IMO.

Women should have at least 16% body fat to be healthy. That's the minimumm...the "essential" body fat percentage. You're only twice that which is not a lot depending on your soma (body) type. Some women can look and feel great with 30% body fat because of how the adipocytes (fat cells) are distributed throughout their body. Others, however, look more "skinny fat" and much less appealing at 30%.

So, let your mirror be your guide.

And, if you want to continue to lose, stop running and start building muscle.

Don't run for fitness alone. Run marathons if that's your thing but don't run without a good reason because running is high impact and repetitive and that means risking problems if you run long distances for a long time. Running contributes to or causes shin splints, repetitive motion stress fractures, ACL strains or separations, early onset osteoarthritis, and much more. And, then there's this........

In this book --> http://www.bodybyscience.net/home.html/?… the coauthors make the following assertion.

"The scientific literature is filled with data that strongly make the case that long distance runners are much more likely to develop cardio-vascular disease, atrial fibrillation, cancer, liver and gallbladder disorders, muscle damage, kidney dysfunction (renal abnormalities), acute microthrombosis in the vascular system, brain damage, spinal degeneration, and germ-cell cancers than are their less active counterparts."

Each assertion is footnoted. They're making the point that most people have "cardio" all wrong and don't really understand how to train to be fit.

And the problems continue...

With muscle, you get these benefits.
• Stronger bones & increased mineral density (osteoporosis protection)
• Stronger body & musculature (improved protection from injury)
• More robust organic and systemic fitness (more survivable in crisis)
• Improved cardio-vascular function (better than "cardio")
• Higher basal metabolic rate (~5-50 cal/day/pound of muscle)
• Easier fat loss (more efficient lipid consumption)
• Greater calorie consumption (prolonged afterburn)
• Supports body sculpting (hypertrophy)
• Slows natural loss of muscle mass (sarcopenia) over age 30
• Minimal wear & tear

Good luck and good health!!

  • Forget BMI. It doesn't take into account where the weight is coming from (muscle, fat, water etc). Body fat% is a much better way to tell if your healthy. A body fat% of 32 is high. 30% is acceptable but most women want 18-25%. You need to work your muscles to reduce body fat. You shouldn't feel discouraged. Your better off where you were and you just got a bit more work to do.
  • You are not obese, but your body fat % is just a tad on the high side. I'd say, being only 132lb, you probably need to replace fat with muscle mass more than anything. This can be achieved through weight training coupled with a high protein diet. Hope this helps.

If you want to lose weight, don't lose more than 25 lbs please because your weight is just fine already now. You're at a healthy weight. But if you want to lose A BIT of weight, eat healthy (veggies, fruits, berries, wholegrain products instead of white, lean meat like chicken breast or soy protein/tofu, low fat yogurts and so on). You exercise a lot so you should eat 1400 calories a day. Eat breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. Try not to eat sugary products, they really can make you crave more sugar or more food. Except sometimes sugar is fine of course. :) Drink 2 liters of water a day. Drink plain green tea -> boosts up your metabolism -> you burn more calories.

This only if you want to lose weight but I don't think you should. Good luck. :)

  • Around 2000 calories
  • Just balanced in your diet, don't try to lose weight as losing diet, it will harmful for you!
