How can I get and without doing sit ups?

Im a girl and I realized I gained some weight over the summer. I'm 110 lb and 5'2. I have a flat stomach when I'm standing up but when I sit down my stomach looks so gross. I want to work on my stomach but I have no abdominial muscles to start with. Sit ups and crunches are really hard for me to do. I could only do 10 sit ups and 30 crunches and it hurts like crazy. What other excercises can I do to get abs?
