How to Lose Weight Using a Treadmill

It is outstanding for muscle tone, strength, and flexibility. If it is something you enjoy doing, it would be a terrific exercise activity. If your main goal is weight loss, you may want to also mix in some aerobic exercise (e.g. running or cycling) to help. I absolutely consider it a sport. Good luck!

When you gain muscle do you lose fat?

I've been eating really good for two and a half weeks (I usually eat pretty well without trying... Like between 1300-1700 calories) now I've been eating even less calories and working out like running, biking, the elliptical and I walk the track for about half an hour with 5 pound weights in each hand doing reps the whole time. On average I probably workout an hour to an hour and a half each night. The problem is I've actually gained a pound and usually when I decide to lose some weight I just restrict calories and don't work out and I lose weight pretty easily. So I know they say muscle weighs more than fat but if I am gaining muscle weight am I losing fat weight and technically getting thinner by appearance? Will I eventually lose weight on the scale if I keep up the same routine? Thanks.

How to Lose Weight in the Face in a Week

Recommended Answer:

No the fat is still there the muscle is grown but with the fat believe or not itll make u appear bigger so do more cardio

Other Answers:

  • The two do not necessarily go hand in hand............>
  • Maybe with cardio exercise can decrease weight body.
  • Haha you didn't gain a pound of muscle with running, using 5 pound dumbbells, and eating super low calories. Doesn't happen like that. You probably just gained a pound. And you're barely getting over a 1000 calories... Thats almost like starving yourself everyday. Eat some food. Because men dont like girls that are skin and bone.

How to Lose Weight Fast at the Gym

Recommended Answer:

Okay so I know you said you already had a food plan, but nutrition and weight loss go together hand in hand. I'm going to explain the numbers of it all... The ideal weight for your height is between 99 and 121 lbs, so you're technically in the healthy weight range, but let's say you'd like to lose 8 lbs. What is weight loss? First of all, weight loss is obtained by creating a calorie deficit. In order to maintain the same weight, you'd need to eat as many calories as you burn. Keep in mind that most of the calories you eat are burned off by digestion, walking around, and just living in general. How can you lose weight (fat loss only*)? Okay, so one pound is equal to 3,200 calories. If you wanted to lose 3 lbs per week**, you'd need to create a weekly calorie deficit of 9,600 calories. For a 5'2" female under 18, you should be eating 1700 calories/day to maintain your weight. That is 11,900 calories/week. To lose 3 lbs in a week, you'd need to eat 9,600 less than usual, so that's 2300 in a week, meaning 330 per day.Where does the exercise come in? DO NOT EAT ONLY 330 CALORIES PER DAY. That number, 330, is what you should be left with AFTER you exercise. In order to maintain a healthy balance, someone your height needs to eat AT LEAST 1000 calories in a day, bare minimum. I'd recommend 1200. Anyways, that means that you'd need to burn between 600 and 900 calories each day, and that doesn't need to be all at once. What exercises should you do? Running burns lots of calories, as does biking (my personal favorite), and zumba (the most fun). Pick things you enjoy. If you love working out, you won't be so depressed about doing so :)How will you know how many calories you burn? There are plenty of websites/apps out there that are great with fitness and nutrition tracking. One of the most popular is MyFitnessPal (free) and it calculates calories burned + calories you eat. My favorite fitness tracker is the app Cardio Trainer (also free) and it records the distance, pace, and number of calories burned by my runs while playingmusic I select. As far as food tracking goes, I use the app Noom (free as well) which tracks my food intake, the nutritional value of that food, and he calories I burn. I choose from a massive list of exercises including (but not limited to) volleyball, weight lifting, zumba, swimming, skating, sit ups, ping pong, hula hooping, golfing, driving, boxing, running, etc, etc.One more thing, if when you exercise you feel depressed and tired, that might be because you aren't giving your body the right nutrients. If you're eating lots of processed/sugary foods, your body could be getting "confused" as to what to do with it, meaning it isn't letting your brain and body get all the energy it needs. That can ruin your mood as well as your physique, which can in return, ruin your mood even more.*If you just need to tone up while dropping maybe a pound or two, eat about 1500 calories/day and do weight lifting (squats, dead lifts, power cleans, hang cleans, bench press, etc).**Do not try losing more than 3 lbs per week. In most cases, losing more than that means you are eating too little, which means you'll gain it back once you start eating regularly again.I hope this helped! Don't get down on yourself, you'll be fine :) Good luck!

Other Answers:

  • F*ck. it's too late now.
  • You don't have to eat more to maintain your weight, a regular diet will keep you at the same weight. A solution would be to eat a little less on a regular basis, but I wouldn't recommend starving yourself. Just get out more and you'll be sure to consume more calories! Sitting down also blocks the flow of metabolism so get a yoga ball to sit on.
  • Honestly? There isn't one.. It's just simply cardio and working out, all there is to it, no pill , food or person that will lose you weight except YOU! Don't think oh god I've to work out , set a goal and just think ok this is getting me closer to that goal or just thing how damn good looking you'll be after!
  • you'll be a lot more likely to exercise if you find a sport or activity that you actually enjoy doing
  • You only need to lose 5 which which you can do in 2 weeks. Here's a good low-carb food/exercise plan:Breakfast: Cook 9-grain cereal (from health food store) in water with rolled oats and wheat bran. Make a pot of it on weekends and nuke 1/2 cup each morning. Then stir in low fat milk or yogurt, banana, walnuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine. Breakfast should be your largest meal of the day to raise blood sugar level which falls during the night.Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey ½ sandwich on multi-grain (not just whole wheat) bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts, yogurt, fresh fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich on whole grain bread (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham, or beef stew.Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit. Nothing ever from a vending machine. Fruit smoothies. Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, green or red peppers, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese, spinach...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it. Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.Or grilled fish with steamed veggies.Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and green or red peppers. Avoid junk food, fast foods, pastries, desserts, anything with sugar (cancer cells feed on sugar), gluten, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fat/grease (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza, chips, fries), pasta, potatoes, ramen, popcorn, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream (it's lard + chemicals), soda (loaded with toxins), chips, tobacco, alcohol (kills brain cells) and coffee (carcinogenic). No oil except olive and mac nut. To keep your skin clear, drink water, tea, unsweetened veggie and fruit juice.Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve, but you have to ask them. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment. Go hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming, rowing, jump rope, play tennis, badminton, volleyball, soccer, jumping jacks, lift weights, trampoline? To tone your tummy, do sit ups, push ups, pull ups, leg lifts, butt raises and crunches. For more energy, take Super B complex.

How to Lose Weight Fast by Drinking Water

Recommended Answer:

This is going to depend more on your diet that the exercise if you're actually lifting weights. Instead of doing cardio, try HIIT (high intensity interval training) such as sprints. This creates an afterburn effect where you burn a great amount of calories for hours after exercise. Drink more water, get more sleep, and eat more veggies and fiber. Try to eat nutrient dense foods to get all the micronutrients you can, this means limiting pasta/wheat/soy/corn. Don't be scared to eat fats as long as they're healthy fats, which can be found in dairy, olive oil, nuts, meat, avocados, coconut oil, whole eggs, etc.If you're trying to lose weight, stick to compound movements when lifting: squats, bench press, rows, deadlift, etc. These will activate more muscle groups and you will burn more calories.Hope this helps!Good luck

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Its all very good things you are doing but the main methodology for weight loss program is to understand the calorie value of your intake. Note down everything you eat and drink and do some research to get the calories you are consuming honestly. It should not exceed 1200 but 1000 would be the best. If you dont do that then there is no surety of every thing you do will be fruitful or not.
  • Try eating wholegrain or oats so the energy releases slowly eat breakfast and eat regularly (not a lot) to increase rate of metabolism. Try exercise specific to the belly like sit-ups, squats, crunches or try pilates exercises.

drink a lot of water or other types of fluids. i would not suggests juices or anything like that because of the amount of sugar in them. also, sometimes they have alot of calories in them. i usually drink water, vitamin water zero, or a seltzer/flavored water without the calories.

i would hope you dont starve youself. i would eat alot of fruits and vegtables. limit the amount of carbs you are eating and the amount of processed sugars. if you broke your feet, maybe do some ab or arm exercises. i do not think you will be able to see the results you want until your feet are healed. also, remember that it takes about 4 weeks for you to see results in yourself, and about 8 weeks for your family and friends. dont let that discourage you though. use it as a motivator. i would look up some low-impact abs and arm exercises due to your circumstances.

hope this helped!

  • Get a lot of vegetables and put them in the blender and make it into a smoothie and just drink that you won''t feel woozy or anything because you''ll still be getting enough calories and you''ll be eating healthy
  • You won''t be able to lose that much in just 2 weeks
  • Exercise

Quick Weight Loss - How to Lose Weight Quickly

Exercise is key, but what you eat is what really makes the weight come off. You have to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. 3,500 calories is a pound, simple right? So if you exercise 45 min a day and cut back on your diet the weight will fall off. First you need to find out your BMR which you can do online and go from there. Just make sure you are burning more than consuming! Your BMR will tell you how many calories you are burning just being you! Remember its not all gonna happen at once and will take hard work and dedication. Diet is key my friend, as someone who has lost 68 pounds please listen.

  • depends on the intensity
for most accurate results use http://www.choosemyplate.gov/ for your diet plan
  • Drink plenty of water, eat your vegetables and workout a least four to five time a week
  • I can completely understand your concern… I have lost 20 lbs in a month simply by drinking nutritional shakes… And I feel so happy about it… It controls my hunger so I dont snack in between meals And it also keeps me so full of energy throughout the day…. suggestions and tips on weight loss?

Okay so since march of last year I''ve been trying to lose weight, I started out as 5''4 and 141 lbs.

-So from march to June I ate 1340 calories a day and lost 5lbs

-from June to mid July I ate 900 calories a day and lost 5 more lbs

- the i started eating 1200 calories a day and gained about 3lbs back.

-in November I started doing swim team and I was still eating 1200 calories a day plus some extra cause I was like starved. And from then till now I probably gained 6lbs. (From muscle??)

So my question is how can I get to being 130 again without losing my muscle and feeling skinny? I feel so fat with it :( also how many calories should I be eating? Is my body too used to 1200-1300 calories? I feel like I hit a plateau... Also I did go down a inch or two from swimming, but I also feel like I gained a little since summer

  • Cut back on white flour products there more harmful to people than actual sugar
  • One popular way people have found to lose weight fast is the "cabbage diet." The basis of the diet is a soup made of cabbage and other vegetables and foods. This is often called a "negative calorie diet" as these foods are said to require more calories to burn than they provide.

Here''s how it works: you eat all the soup you want on the first day. On subsequent days, you would be adding particular foods in addition to the cabbage.

A word of caution: this diet would not be healthy to use for very long, but in the short run it seems to work. If you really want to know how to lose weight fast, this is one possibility.

Dance To Lose Weight

Don''t expect to see dramatic results in a short period of time. Start by making goals for yourself! What I did was look at myself in the mirror and see what I wanted to change and start writing it down. I myself am super insecure about my body. Make a log on your computer or better yet make a journal! Weigh yourself and write it down in your journal. This will be your starting weight. I started keeping pictures of my dream body from tumblr and put it in my phone (a little weird, yes, but it motivates you!). I looked on weight loss blogs and Instagrams and they have plenty of little facts that are helpful like what to eat, exercises, etc. YouTube has a bunch of work out videos for women that can be leveled from beginning and you can work your way up from there! Keeping a healthy diet makes a HUGE difference. Cut out soda, fast food, obvious things. Drink plenty of water. Seriously, no soda or energy drinks or Powerade or any of that. You''re literally drinking sugar. In your journal record how many calories you''ve burned every time you go to the gym and try to beat it the next time you go. The more you work out/eat healthy you''ll start feeling a lot better and less mopey and tired. Get a good nights sleep. Whatever you do don''t starve yourself. Remember to portion well. I used to starve myself and went all the way down to 95 pounds, then I started eating again and gained TEN pounds so fast! And your cravings go up! Fat gets stored in your body and it''s just bleh. When I first started working out I felt like I was getting bigger and felt like giving up, but it was just fat turning into muscle and my body needed time to adjust and i began slimming down. Another thing is to go on a mini shopping spree! I find shopping for work out clothes and water bottles and little things like that get me excited for the next time i work out. If you are really craving something and can''t take it anymore, go ahead and eat it, but in moderation. Eventually you can eat whatever you wants as long as you don''t eat a lot of it. I know I have so much more to say but I think this is the main points. Good luck!

  • it takes time, it doesn''t work overnight my dear. just wait and work hard for the results. it''ll be all worth it :-)
  • Of course you''re not going to get results after one week. What did you think was going to happen... And what would you consider to be a good diet? People have no clue. Try going on a no carb diet and you will see results after about three weeks if you are strict. Diet is ten times more important then actually exercising for wight loss. If you''re going to exercise, walk. It burns more fat than running.
  • I am 5"4.5 and weighed almost 200 lbs when I came to stay with my mother (husband deployed). Needless to say we were both unhappy with me, when I started on the treadmill I could barely do a 2.0 pace, I was so out of shape. I have made myself do the treadmill at least 4-5x a week and am now up to a 3.8 pace on a 10 incline for 25 min minimum 5x a week. I have added pushups and forward lunges (great for butt toning) and well as squats and sit-ups. Make sure todo these in reps rather than just a bunch at once. What kept me going personally was I wanted to look good for my husband and get in shape for the jobs I''m interested in. I didn''t see any results at first, it was frustrating. Due to having a heavier bone structure I refuse to go by the scale and prefer "do I like what I see in the mirror?". I''m now wearing dresses I wore as a teenager over 12 yrs ago.
