I lost 90 pounds without hunger or a feeling of deprivation by eating a whole plant based diet. I fast every six months or so for five days. Under a clinical setting people fast for 10 to 20 days drinking nothing but pure water. This can reverse many common medical conditions.
Sadly, Atkins is less effective and is very stressful on internal organs. A water fast cleanses the organs and improves most blood indicators. It''s important to distinguish between refined carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. There is absolutely no need to consume simple carbohydrates such as refined sugar, refined oils, alcohol, caffeine, excess salt, food additives, and other fast food ingredients. On the other hand, vegetables are complex carbohydrates and contain micronutrients that help you maintain excellent health. My weight loss was without much effort because I ate a balanced vegetarian diet without meat (beef, poultry, pork, fish) and without dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, eggs).
