best way to lose fat and become fit?

Im 19 I weight 207 lbs. I want to lose weight and become fit. Im just not sure what to do. I hear a lot of different ways. But idk which to do. What kind of exercises should I do to lose fat off my body and inches and then what do I do to become fit. I do have access to a gym just cant afford a personal trainer. I do eat healthy too. Any help would be greatful.

Hello! There are a few things to know that will greatly help you with your fitness goals:1.) It is commonly thought that only cardio will help someone lose fat. This is only partially true. To lose fat effectively you will need to build muscle AND do cardio (running, swimming, etc.). Generally, you'll want about 30-40% of your work out to be cardio. Gyms are great, but lifting free weights (dumbbells) is more effective. You can also do push ups, pull ups, etc.2.) Keep track of what you have done and the results you have achieved. Great! Keep track of what you are eating and look back at it after about a week, you can assess what you've been eating and see if you could make any helpful changes. I would suggest eating at least 1400 calories a day to lose weight. Make sure that you are not starving yourself! It is a fine line.5.) Sleep really is ESSENTIAL. Make sure you are getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Giving your body sleep reduces stress (stress forces your body to store fat and improperly digest food), and helps you build muscle. Again, slowly increase the amount of crunches you are doing until you can do about 50. Repeat three times. d.) Squats. Do 20 squats (Make sure you are SQUEEZING your butt and thighs while going down and up, if you want, add a dumbbell to your arms and it will add more difficulty.) Repeat two times.*Repeat this exercise at least twice. Day 5: Go on another jog! Try to make this one longer than the last one. You want to slowly work your way up to a few miles. Also, time yourself and challenge yourself to make a faster time.This 5 day workout system gives you two free days throughout the week. Right down on a weekly calender, or just in a journal which days you plan on doing what. Feel free to modify any of the workouts to best fit your routine, and the order of the days. Breakfast:

If you have a phone with an app, I suggest you download myfitnesspal, loseit!, or livestrong. (they have a website too)They all give you a calorie goal based on your current weight/height/age needed to loose weight. It may seem tedious to calorie count, but it's necessary at times. Myfitnesspal has the widest selection of foods thus far and it takes no time really. I used to eat a bunch of veggies and fruit, but I didn't know I needed to eat more initially, so I didn't loose weight. Now that I use it, I loose 2-3 lbs each week for sure. It keeps me on track, but you seem to know what to do when it comes to a balanced diet:)

1. Will you lose fat? most likely yes. Will you lose weight? Possibly not. Why you ask? The simple answer is muscle weights more then fat so if you are doing a lot of toning exercise (the kinds of exercises you need to burn fat in the areas you have listed) then it is likely as you burn fat you will gain muscle. So don't be dis-heartened if the scales don't reflect your hard work. The best measure fore fat lose is actually measurement. Get a tape measure and measure around your tummy (using your belly button as a guide) around your thighs and around your bottom. Do these measurements once a week this will give you a good indication of weather or not your exercises are working.

2. Fat burning stomach exercises? The basics; Sit ups, crunches, reverse crunches, side crunches, planks and bicycle legs. Start at 20 each of sit ups, crunches, reverse crunches, side crunches (20 each side) and bicycle legs (20 each leg) and 30 sec plank then work up progressively until you are doing. 100 of each and a 90 sec plank you will see a difference very quickly.

3. Thigh exercises. There exercises are for tights and gluts; lunges, squats, single leg squats, 90 degree hold on a wall. Again start off at about 20 of each and 30 sec wall hold and work up to 100 and 90 sec.

4. Lower leg fat? The above exercises will help with this but basically it is about running walking, hill sprints etc. also calf raises will help.

5. Calories. Ok here is where I want to try and get you to change your thinking. Instead of "how many calorie should I be eating" you should be asking "what foods should I be eating more of and what should I be eating less of to maintain a healthy weight?" My advice for losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight is as follows;

To drop the weight you need a protein rich carb limited diet. The reason for this is the bodies favourite source of energy is carbs which come from starchy foods such as potato and breads etc. If your body is not getting these carbs it will start burning fat to get its energy.

As I guide I normally say; Have one large meal a day consisting of 3 handfuls of veggies (leafy greens are best) not potato or sweet potato etc. If you can eat them raw even better. and a palm size piece of protein (meal). On top of that you want 1 smaller meal consisting of a piece of fruit and a salad. Then allow yourself 2 small snacks. Such as a handful of nuts or a health bar. To kick start your metabolism in the morning start the day with a glass of warm water with lemon juice, if you can't stomach that try green tea. I hope this information helps.     Best way to lose weight is Cardio (running, cycling, swimming), anything that makes you sweat.
    If you have the time, it is best to exercise at least for 30min

    I can't tell you exactly what burns what, because that depends on your genes, your body.
    Someone will lose but fat, someone will lose stomach first. Usually the thing you want most gone, will be the last to go.
    Everything will burn eventually something faster, something slower.

    As for calories, I'm not a doctor, and a doctor should be the only one who can tell you that.

Hello I'm trying to get into shape by this summer I need too lose 70lbs. I've been on the Special K diet for a month now and I've lost about 10-12 pounds so far but I'm getting tired of it so I'm looking for a new diet and exercise plan.. Ways to stop myself from eating too much?

I'm a 15 year old girl, 5ft 1 and I weigh about 8 stone. I go to the gym twice a week and I also do a lot of dancing. I would love to have a more toned body, but I think what's letting me down is my diet. I don't smoke and I don't drink alcohol often either. I don't eat breakfast, and for lunch breaks ill usually eat pasta. When I'm at home, ill either snack all night, or eat pizza/chips/more pasta/or take aways.

Luckily for me I shed weight fairly easily. But that's not the point, I'd really like some tips to prevent my cravings over snacking and binge eating. Also I'd really appreciate some healthy diet plan of some kind, thanks!

Losing weight is about 80% what you eat, so look at what you're eating. Change your lifestyle, don't go on a diet. Eat less junk/fast/fried foods, cut back on soda pop and focus on eating a variety of foods including fruits and vegetables, but also lean proteins (chicken, turkey, fish, lean beef, plain greek yogurt), healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, nuts, hummus), brown rice, oatmeal, milk, low fat cheese, whole wheat bread, etc. The less junk food you eat, the less you're going to want. Try eating just one 'bad' food each day, then go for once every other day and then just 2-3 times a week.

You also should really start eating something for breakfast. This gets your metabolism going in the morning. Try some plain greek yogurt with fresh berries (NOT the fruit on the bottom kinds - that stuff has as much sugar as a candy bar), or a couple scrambled eggs with low fat cheese and whole wheat toast. Something with some carbs/fat/protein to get your day started off right.

If you feel hungry, ask yourself, "Do I want some vegetables or just junk food?" If the answer is junk food, then you're not really hungry. Drink a big glass of water and wait 20 minutes. If you still feel hungry, but not for vegetables, then go do something else to keep yourself busy like text a friend or get out of the house and go for a walk. Also, you could go with your parents next time they go to the grocery store and remind them to skip the junk food and get more of the things I mentioned above. Good luck!
