How to Lose Weight When You Are Elderly

There is no way for an anonymous user over the internet to figure out your calorie maintenance level. You have to put in the work to figure it out for yourself. You have to count every calorie you eat a day and figure out how many calories you should eat in order to maintain your weight. It's a tedious process because of the experimentation needed but it's what everyone serious about this sort of thing does (or they hire someone to do it for them which you probably can't do). And to lose weight you simply take in less calories than you need to maintain your weight.

How to Set a Weekly Weight Loss Goal

Losing weight and gaining muscle are two entirely different things that require very different routines. You can either have one or the other, or have both and risk losing weight and gaining muscle very slowly. I would say you should start to lose weight first in order for your muscles to pop when you start to work them out. You should eat around 1500 calories a day and either step that up or down depending on how you feel at the end of the day. (your trying to go on a diet not starve yourself) I would go for cardio every other day to begin with maybe just a mile if you aren't that strong of heart or even 3 miles if you feel you need a challenge.By the end of the month, you'll have noticed you have dropped some significant poundage. Also at the end of the month, this is where you need to step it up. Start to jog 4 times a day and try to go for 5 miles. If this is too hard for you, you can always go slower or jog fewer miles. From here, once you feel comfortable with this routine, step it up, then again, then again. And repeat this until you are satisfied with your weight. This is where the real fun begins. A bodybuilder needs to eat a ton of calories in order for his muscles to grow to their full extent. Here, you need to keep an eye on protein, carbs, calories, and some vitamins. I would recommend you buy 5 or 10 pound weights to start with and if you don't have the money to buy weights, you could just fill some gallon jugs with water and use those. I won't get into detail about how to start working out, so I'd recommend watching sixpackshortcuts on youtube or just simply type, bodybuilding for beginners in google and see what pops up.Good luck

Is this an okay size for a 14 year old girl?

How to Lose Weight With a Six Week Program

Hi freoughmore!Don't worry about your weight too much but there is some things you can do. Firstly remember to drink lots of water (average around 8 cups daily). Have a glass before every meal to stop overeating. You must eat lots of protein- meat such as chicken and other sources of protein is from beans such as lentils and also eat nuts. Also take a multivitamin with dinner. Eat fresh salads and vegetables with dinner and as snacks. Celery is a great snack as it has next to no calories and includes vitamins. (Note that you should avoid cheese, sugary cereals and bread-especially white)For exercise you should aim to do 60-100 sit ups daily, don't do too much as your muscles need time to heal. This is a great way of burning belly fat and tones the muscle. If you have a stationary bike use it for 30 minutes daily (doesn't have to be vigorous) this loses fat from thighs and legs also gives them nice definition. If you don't have a bike go jogging or running for 30 minutes daily because it has the same effect! If you do this you should be able to lose a few pounds quickly. Good luck!!

  • You're 14, you shouldn't be worrying about your weight. Just make sure you eat lots of fruit and veg, drink lots of water, don't eat too much rubbish and do exercise :)
  • I'm the same height as you and although I weigh a little less, you're at a very healthy weight for your size. If you still want to lose weight, do a lot of cardio! It burns fat everywhere and worked well for me. I lost weight easily when I cut out sodas and junk food (which wasnt easy at all) and started working out.

Is this a good program to lose weight and gain lean muscle mass?

I am a 17 year old male who is 5 foot & 4 inches who weighs between 150-160 pounds. I forgot because I haven't had a physical examination for 6 months. However I am starting this diet and exercise program that will help me shed my body fat. I plan on eating grapefruit with a light breakfast at 6:00 AM every week day, have a small lunch between 11:30-12:30, and eat either fish or lean chicken for dinner with more grapefruit at 6:00 PM after I come home from school. This way I'll cut my calorie intake. Along with that I plan on doing upper body and lower body exercises with alternating days and rests on weekends. Is this a good approach to lose weight and gain or have tone muscle growth? I plan on shedding fat so I can look good for my senior prom this coming May. Any advice or extra tips will be appreciated, thanks!!For upper body I commonly do bench presses, upright rows, military presses, many arm workouts... but you get the idea I do a lot for about 2 1/2 hours and then do lower body the next day I just can't name them off the back of my head. I plan on finishing each workout with 30 min hitting the punching bag. I do have a lot of inspiration as I am a fanatic of Bruce Lee and although I can't be like him, I can try to be physically fit. The guy is my role model from an early age and I do some exercises from his books as well. For upper body I commonly do bench presses, upright rows, military presses, many arm workouts... but you get the idea I do a lot for about 2 1/2 hours and then do lower body the next day I just can't name them off the back of my head. How to Lose Weight Through Acupuncture

Remember the key to losing weight is a combination of the foods you eat, motivation and exercise. If you are noticing no dramatic weight change it is that your muscles are developing and growing larger, hence larger mass. You should most definitely be encompassing a training program as I believe your level of exercise is un-co-ordinated. You must consider training principles when designing a training program. Progressive overload (a training program) is not encompassed in your training, this means you will stay on the same level of fitness and will not improve. By including progressive overload you can increase our fitness. Please email myself or post another question if you would like a personal training program designed for yourself. It will include training methods, training principles and components of fitness. Remember don't starve yourself or at the same time overeat. Motivation is one of the worst killers in exercising. Wanting to do exercise is great. since you are till at a young age you are still developing. Remember not exercising for a week can dramatically change your fitness level. You should never stop training, if you do, then you will just decrease your level of fitness. You should eat a balanced diet and eating foods in moderation. "When it comes to losing weight, you are always going to have to sacrifice something in order to see satisfactory results. Typically, you do not need to completely deprive yourself of most of your favorite foods. While dieting, many sweet snacks can still be enjoyed when eating in moderation. However, some food is so unhealthy that even a bite is too much. 1. Fast food: 2. Potato chips: 3. Soda: 4. Candy bars: 5. Ice cream: 6. Delivery pizza: 7. Bacon: 8. Hot dogs: 9. Sausage: 10. Fried snacks: These are just ten of the foods that can derail your weight loss aspirations. Keep in mind that even if you avoid all of the foods on the list, you should still exercise moderation in your diet. Avoid big meals and always be mindful of what you are eating and how it was prepared. If you eat right and avoid overeating, better health can become a reality." (Menna, 2008). Salmon, leafy greens, fruit, vegetables and other superfoods such as eggs (keep you going nearly all day) or berries are healthy alternatives and good foods. I know this is a lot of information. I don't want to pile all this on you but consider what you eat and just do a little bit of exercise everyday. By doing a little bit of physical activity everyday instead of sitting down can lower your cholesterol level. Hope this assists you.Source(s):Prior knowledge on the subject and from studying

If you are active , do you have a fast metabolism?

I am very health conscious so whenever I eat junk food.... i am constantly thinking of my weight. :( I've been eating a lot of it this week & feel horrible about myself. but I usually am good about not eating fast food & going out to eat at restaurants. I used to be 154 & now i am 111lbs. I lost about 43 pounds.... did this weight loss make my metabolism fast in any way? I workout 3 days a week for at least an hour or more. I also cannot eat as much as I used to. Like I'll only eat half of a sandwich and feel full. Before I used to eat footlongs like nothing. & now I can only finish a 6inch feeling satisfied. & I when I get full, I won't eat the rest of the day. Oh and when I eat junk food I always have to go to the bathroom afterwards cause it doesnt settle right with my stomach at times. Does any of this indicate a fast metabolism?

How to Lose Weight on a Tight Budget

Recommended Answer:

You may be feeling more full with smaller portions because you have lost a bit of muscle weight along with the 43 pounds, which is almost 1/3 of your body weight. That is a significant weight loss, so essentially you are a smaller person at this point, without even accounting for your fat percentage. Muscle mass and size translates to overall body size, and larger people need more food to stay at the same weight. However, that guess is only based on the fact that I'm assuming that you have lost some muscle along with your total weight loss. And an active lifestyle does indeed increase your metabolism, but muscle mass also plays a large part in a person's base metabolic rate. You probably are burning less calories than you used to just in everyday activity, but you also have probably learned how to eat less and still feel satisfied as well, which is a mental skill and not just a physical response. So I'm guessing that there's multiple factors involved in the way that you are feeling satisfied with less food at this point. Normally, a faster metabolism will allow you to eat more food, while still staying at the same weight. But, you may have just been eating too much food in the past, which lead to the weight gain, and now you are no longer eating an excess amount of food and are currently eating a more appropriate amount of food for your size, which has resulted in a more normal body weight.

How to Lose Weight Safely as a Diabetic

I'm done with my weight loss journey and completely happy with how I feel and how I look right now however losing weight is a challenge for anyone and even losing 5 pounds and keeping it off isn't an easy task. Also I bet you didn't know that 5 pounds of fat is about the size of 8 cheese burgers? That alone should be enough to make anyone want to get on the ball and start a change for the better. Weight loss can be really easy to learn but the problem is nobody wants to put the required effort that is needed to actually do it, instead people continually look for (easy) ways to do it. If there was an easy way to lose weight I don't think 35% of Americans would be obese. There was a time when I also wanted to lose weight and was tired of starting diets only to lose motivation and give up just a few weeks later after seeing no results. However, let me tell you it is literally one of the easiest things you will ever learn once you find a good and reputable place to learn it from and I say that only because the world is filled with magic diet pills, liquid flush diets and a thousand other quick fixes that promise xx pounds of weight loss in the first week and even though it is impossible they know you're going to do it because your desperate. I have probably tried every diet pill, liquid flush diet, and ab rocket machine known to man and have had no success with any of them nor do I know anyone that has ever had any success with them. I have also tried starving myself which works very well for the first few weeks' right before your metabolism comes to a complete stop and eating just the tiny bit makes you gain weight and you end up weighing more than you did before you started starving yourself. Companies promote weight loss to make money not to get people healthy again and that's because they know you're not going to be a customer and buy their products if you're no longer fat. http://fatloossfactor.com is a site I want you to go to when you have 10 or 20 minutes to spare and I want you to sit down and watch his video on weight loss. He helps people every day to lose weight I have never seen someone as committed as him and that will go so far out of his way to help someone. His weight loss program is one of the best I have ever had the enjoyment of doing and it is without doubt the best success I have ever had with any weight loss program. I also couldn't be happier with my body right now and I have never felt this wonderful in my whole life. In the end you just got to remember to stick with it and stay confident in yourself and in no time you can achieve the results you have always wanted. It's not hard to lose weight but most people have a hard time staying motivated and 9 times out of 10 it was because they weren't really committed from the beginning. Anyways I hope I helped you and I hope you make the commitment to change your body and life. Remember it's not easy to take the first step but you did, you're here right now taking it and the rest of the steps will fall into place. Have a wonderful day.

What's the cons of taking anti depressions?

I took them before when I was little and as I gotten to my teenager years (I'm 16 going on 17) and my attitude is still bad. I get into arguments, I don't know how to respect them, I'm depressed, social anxiety and have no confendice. So my doctor and parents suggest I should get back on the pills but I heard many things that they effect weight gain (I'm trying to lose 10-15 pounds), shorten your life, and some other things and I don't want these to happen to me but I do t want to be a a$$hole and depressed all my life! When I took those pills while young I was happy, codefendant, and got good grades at school now I'm skipping, not caring about a lot of things, and losing my smarts by bad grammar and not making sense. I need help and suggestings and if there's bad things about taking these pills.
