What's the cons of taking anti depressions?

I took them before when I was little and as I gotten to my teenager years (I'm 16 going on 17) and my attitude is still bad. I get into arguments, I don't know how to respect them, I'm depressed, social anxiety and have no confendice. So my doctor and parents suggest I should get back on the pills but I heard many things that they effect weight gain (I'm trying to lose 10-15 pounds), shorten your life, and some other things and I don't want these to happen to me but I do t want to be a a$$hole and depressed all my life! When I took those pills while young I was happy, codefendant, and got good grades at school now I'm skipping, not caring about a lot of things, and losing my smarts by bad grammar and not making sense. I need help and suggestings and if there's bad things about taking these pills.

Here are some negative side effects of taking antidepressants: Decreased sex drive or no sex drive at allDry mouth — your mouth feels very dry and cannot produce the same amount of saliva as usualMild to moderate nauseaInsomnia — inability to get to sleep, or difficulty staying asleepIncreased anxiousness or restlessnessDaytime sleepiness or drowsinessWeight gainConstipation or diarrheaHeadachesIncreased sweatingDizzinessAlso, consider cognitive-behavioral therapy in addition to antidepressants. Together they are much more effective at tackling depression and especially social anxiety than alone. This is a critical time in your life and in this summertime, if you put all your effort into getting better than it could have giant ramifications in your life down the line. You could spend the rest of your life regretting what you do this summer - if you actively pursue treatment or ignore it. Feel free to email me at mentalhealthtree@gmail.com
