Am I the reason I can't look good or is a little junk food okay?

I'm 6'4 and weigh 190 pounds so I'm technically not fat. I actually look good with clothes on. But I sort of have slightly stretched skin around my stomach area. Today I ran 3 miles, swam laps for twenty-five minutes, and then lifted for a bit. So given my exercise, and my height/weight, I could probably consume 2500 calories today and not even gain weight. So far I had oatmeal, Greek yogurt, grilled chicken and a lot of spinach. But a few minutes ago I had four shortbread cookies and I'm so mad at myself. I just get sugar cravings and feel tired until I get it and fruit is never enough. Am I the reason I can't get my stomach area tight because I eat junk food everyday?Or is a little everyday okay for someone who works out like I do?

Well, you're doing better than I am. I'm trying to cut way back on sugar, because that's supposedly worse for you than fats. I would google, how to get a flat stomach, and do those exercises. Also, I would allow a snack a day, or every other day, or something, so you don't beat yourself up over 4 cookies. I mean, it's 4 cookies. You didn't scarf down a cheesecake or something! :)

How can I get motivation to walk every day?

I want to be able to walk every morning and every night. I am not overweight or fat I don't think, just average. I have always been average, but I still gained some weight so I am starting to get worried and I just feel like I would feel more beautiful to lose weight so I can wear certain things. Every time I wake up I tell myself I am going to walk, and I NEVER do. Ever! I just go back to sleep and then get stuck on the computer all day long. I need help! What can I do to be motivated?oh. haha thanks..

How to Lose Weight With Prune Juice

I'm done with my weight loss journey and completely happy with how I feel and how I look right now however losing weight is a challenge for anyone and even losing 5 pounds and keeping it off isn't an easy task. Also I bet you didn't know that 5 pounds of fat is about the size of 8 cheese burgers? That alone should be enough to make anyone want to get on the ball and start a change for the better. Weight loss can be really easy to learn but the problem is nobody wants to put the required effort that is needed to actually do it, instead people continually look for (easy) ways to do it. If there was an easy way to lose weight I don't think 35% of Americans would be obese. There was a time when I also wanted to lose weight and was tired of starting diets only to lose motivation and give up just a few weeks later after seeing no results. However, let me tell you it is literally one of the easiest things you will ever learn once you find a good and reputable place to learn it from and I say that only because the world is filled with magic diet pills, liquid flush diets and a thousand other quick fixes that promise xx pounds of weight loss in the first week and even though it is impossible they know you're going to do it because your desperate. I have probably tried every diet pill, liquid flush diet, and ab rocket machine known to man and have had no success with any of them nor do I know anyone that has ever had any success with them. I have also tried starving myself which works very well for the first few weeks' right before your metabolism comes to a complete stop and eating just the tiny bit makes you gain weight and you end up weighing more than you did before you started starving yourself. Companies promote weight loss to make money not to get people healthy again and that's because they know you're not going to be a customer and buy their products if you're no longer fat. http://fatloossfactor.com is a site I want you to go to when you have 10 or 20 minutes to spare and I want you to sit down and watch his video on weight loss. He helps people every day to lose weight I have never seen someone as committed as him and that will go so far out of his way to help someone. His weight loss program is one of the best I have ever had the enjoyment of doing and it is without doubt the best success I have ever had with any weight loss program. I also couldn't be happier with my body right now and I have never felt this wonderful in my whole life. In the end you just got to remember to stick with it and stay confident in yourself and in no time you can achieve the results you have always wanted. It's not hard to lose weight but most people have a hard time staying motivated and 9 times out of 10 it was because they weren't really committed from the beginning. Anyways I hope I helped you and I hope you make the commitment to change your body and life. Remember it's not easy to take the first step but you did, you're here right now taking it and the rest of the steps will fall into place. Have a wonderful day.

Getting slim/abs (15 year old boy)?

I'm not fat but I do have a little fat on my stomach/belly and small moobs. I wanna slim down for summer and hopefully get abs or just a flat stomach. I've stared to diet by replacing fizzy drinks with water and juice and cutting down on sugary foods. This is the exercise I'm doing now. (50 sit-ups , 15 mins of running on the spot , 100 star jumps , 10 sit-ups , 100 more star jumps) (Doing all of that usually takes about 30 mins) If I do this exercise Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and Friday will I start to slim down and hopefully start to develop abs?

How to Lose Weight With the Master Cleanse

Recommended Answer:

Yes, but it'll be slow. Try cutting down on the sugar a little more, meaning no juice, just water. If I were teaching you we would be doing this my way. You would be doing intermittent fasting. This meaning not eating the whole day except for ONE 4 hour period. It can be any time of the day you want. Examples: 6:00 - 10:00, 1:00 - 5:00 etc. Your stomach will be empty and your body will naturally burn fat. Want it even faster? Try working out right before the 4-hour eating period. That way you're working cardio on an empty stomach. This would cause you to reach your goal in no more than 2 weeks. NOTE: You may drink water at any time of the day. During the fasting period do not even consume a bite of food, it'll throw the fasting period off.

Other Answers:

  • You need to decrease your body fat percentage for your abs to show. Running/sprinting is a great way. Your diet is extremely important as well.

How many pounds do I have to lose to notice a difference?

I am 18 years old, 5 ft tall, currently 103-105 lbs aiming for 95 - 98 pounds
Being a short girl, I look kind of chubby and I''ve started going on a diet three weeks ago.

I don''t starve myself; I still have cakes and cookies occasionally but I just cut down on the amount of food I intake. I also changed my very sanitary lifestyle by walking about 40 minutes after school 3-5 times a week.

So I''ve definitely lost weight (about 5 pounds) since the beginning of this month but I don''t notice any difference in my appearance.

How many pounds do people normally have to lose to see the results?

Plus, any tips on losing weight on thighs, cheeks, and abdominal area?

Thanks!
I know I''m not fat but I want to look THINNER. I look a little chunky because I tend to be quite curvy.

The 2009 Fattest Cities in America - Can the People in Those Cities Lose Weight Quickly?

Recommended Answer:
Focusing on pounds wont do you any good, focus on losing fat and gaining muscle. In the end if you gain 5-10lbs of MUSCLE, you''ll look amazing and not "chubby" at all. Muscle weighs more then fat, and takes up less space.

  • STOP. You must be TINY. I''m 5''2 and 130 lbs.
  • Its not about the number of pounds you''re losing. You want to turn all the fat into muscle to notice a difference! Start doing endurance, aerobic, and speed training ASAP!
  • I say you can notice a little over 6 lbs.
  • Supplements really won''t do much. Situps or use a machine for stomach crunches. They are really fast.

1 month of diet and exercise no weight loss?

For the last month I have been working out 5-6 days a week. This is my workout schedule I do all classes at the gym
Monday Muscle Fit- A muscle toning class with weights
Tuesday Tae Bo
Wednesday – Bodiography (stretching, resistance band and stability exercises)
Thursday – 30 mins of high intensity cardio and 30 mins of weight training
Friday – Tabata
Saturday Zumba
Sunday rest

All of the classes are 1 hour long. On top of that I have been dieting. A normal day will consist of cereal for breakfast without milk, fruit for a snack, salad with chicken for lunch, granola bar mid afternoon, lean protein and veggies with a small starch for dinner and something small as a desert. The only things I drink are a ton of water, about 3 cups of black coffee a day and each morning I have 1 bottle of dragon fruit juice which is 70 calories. I have cheated here and there going out to dinner once in a while, having a muffin for breakfast on the weekend but nothing too extreme. Monday – Friday I am strict with the diet. I haven’t lost any weight so far and starting to lose motivation. What should I change? I am 5’2 and 30lbs overweigh so I definitely have weight to lose

Foods to Lose Weight Healthily

Recommended Answer:
Just a guess, but cheating "here and there" is probably where the problem is. For one person, it's "nothing too extreme," but to another, it is. For example, muffins (think of the phrase muffin top) are best used for putting on weight, not taking it off. When you are not eating muffins then it's cereal? How much sugar is in that cereal? Sugar is not your friend. Get rid of it. It is hiding in almost everything you eat. For that matter, how often is going out to dinner once in a while? And what are you eating?

  • Do you track and measure everything you eat? Are you eating enough calories for your height, weight and activity level?
  • no wonder you're consuming processed foods.

    which are inflammatory.

Am I grossly obese or just chubby?

I'm 5 feet 7 inches tall, 16 years old, I have DD cup breasts, and I weigh 180 pounds. How much weight do I need to lose.

Choose The Best Way To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
You are NOT grossly obese by any means, but you could probably lose some weight. Unfortunately, with DD cups, probably close to 10-15lbs is just in your bra. I have DDD cups and so I know how big they are. Fortunately, if you lose weight, breasts are all fat, so they will shrink as well.

Losing weight is about 80% what you eat, so focus on that. Change your lifestyle, don't go on a diet. Eat less junk/fast/fried foods and stop drinking sugary soda pop. Focus on eating a variety of foods including fruits and vegetables, but also lean proteins (chicken, turkey, fish, lean beef, plain greek yogurt), healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, nuts, hummus), brown rice, oatmeal, milk, low fat cheese, whole wheat bread, etc. Go grocery shopping with your parents next time to ensure they skip the junk and pick the foods that I listed above.

If you feel hungry, ask yourself, "Do I want some vegetables or just junk food?" If the answer is junk food, then you're not really hungry. Drink a big glass of water and wait 20 minutes. If you still feel hungry, but not for vegetables, then go do something else to keep yourself busy like text a friend or read a book or go for a walk. Exercise is great for your body and will help you lose faster. Walking, riding your bike, jumping rope (you don't even need a rope to do this, just go through the motions), dancing around the house - these are all great ways to get your heart rate up and burn calories.

Weight loss is about slow and steady, so start eating healthier, get in some exercise and it will take time, but you will see results for sure. Now that you will be living a healthier lifestyle, you won't ever have to worry about losing weight again because you will keep the weight off.

I would suggest joining a free website called SparkTeens.com. It's a place where people who want to get healthier can get some guidance and support, but it's geared towards 13-17 year-olds. You can connect with other teens trying to get healthier and lose weight and see what's working for them. Good luck!

  • Chubby i guess..... your not obese...your bmi is below 30..

is college the reason I am losing weight?

I am male 6 foot 1, 160 pounds. I don't know if that's considered underweight but I really think im skinny and I let it get to me and it makes me feel nervous and anxiety and whatnot, anyways it seems like whenever I start college I lose a couple of pounds and no matter what I do, I can;t gain it back. Then when summer comes I'll gain 3-5 more pounds. i don't know why it is because I'm not doing anything different. I'm eating the same if not more but I wonder if it might be stress? I've tried taking natural supplements that reduce anxiety and stress and it helps to an extent but I feel stressed and weighed down by all the homework and studying and going from class to class. what do you think and what can I do to solve it?

Tips on How to Lose Weight Fast for the New Year

Recommanded Answer:
Many people lose weight because of stress and that seems to be the case with you. Then when you aer on vacation from college you are less stressed and can gain the weight back. Maybe start a strength training/weight lifting routine. If you don't have access to a gym check here for strength training exercises you can do at home. Strength training/weight lifting is really helpful for a whole variety of reasons, including long term weight control, for building muscle, for toning, for improving appearance and posture, and for boosting your metabolism.

How long does it take to replenish blood after it's been donated?

And how many calories do you lose by donating blood (just curious)?

Lose Weight As You Get Older - Ezine Articles

Recommanded Answer:
You don't lose anything in the long run. Blood volume takes about 24 hours to return to normality, red blood cells are usually one or two months. The only disadvantages are very temporary, slight light handedness, slightly bruised arm (not too bad if you put enough pressure on it when they take the needle out), that sort of thing. It's been known for people to faint but pretty rare. I donated at about 8pm and felt ever so slightly woozy afterward (and bear in mind I was right at the lowest weight allowed to donate) but by the next morning I felt absolutely normal.

  • You don't lose calories by donating blood lol you just lose blood. And it should be normal again in a couple days
  • Replacement of lost volume begins within minutes following donation, as the body recruits tissue fluid into the vasculature. Lost red cell mass is replaced by the bone marrow within 4-6 weeks.
  • not sure the number of calories but it took me a good long time to replenish blood the last time i did it, i got really sick

How long until I start losing weight?

Im going to the gym four times and week and spending 30 minutes on the elliptical, 25 minutes on the bike and 10 minutes on a rowing machine. I have also cut my calories down to about 1300, eating mostly veggies and fruits and have been drinking only water. In edition to this I have been taking the stairs up to my apartment (I live on the ninth floor) and doing a few calisthenics before I go to bed (nothing too fancy). I have been doing this for about a week and a half and I was wondering when I can start to expect results? I am an 18 year old girl if that helps.

Lose Weight, No Sweat!

Recommanded Answer:
It will take a few months before you start seeing changes. And don't be surprised if you actually gain weight for a little while, your body will retain more fluids to keep up with your exercise, it's completely normal. Just make sure you are keeping your routine very enjoyable, otherwise the brain won't allow the habit and you'll become another statistical drop-out. Take breaks whenever needed, and two days a week of rest. Think about the long term, you are still very young and at a great age to start a life-long pursuit of health and happiness. Just be patient and you'll be rewarded with so many benefits ( some you might not notice) like better sleep, energy, breathing, endurance, strength, moods, etc.) Keep up the good work! And have fun!

  • dont you mean a 18 year old FAT girl. Get your post right please.
  • eat normal food, dont nibble on fruit and veg because you'll gain weight that way! eat normal but small portions, eat butter, high fats etc. but little of it? eat your mums food, it'll be better for you
  • You will not gain wieght if you eat fruit eat healthy no more fats foods
  • It diesnt matter if ur training liek a mad person u gota be patience train and eat good

U need to fully quit ur fatty junk foods ur sugary foods and stock to healthy foods and healthy snacks

    :)
  • I've reported Charlie for personal abuse.

It sounds to me like you are probably putting on about as much muscle as you are losing weight. With that much exercise you may not have enough calories on your plate to keep your body at a high metabolic rate.

Try the 5:2 fast diet instead. Eat normally 5 days a week (2000 cals) but just eat 500 calories on 2 days a week. I would recommend you don't exercise heavily those 2 days.

Google for the fast diet. There's a lot of interest in it at the moment. I've lost 30 pounds in 22 weeks with it - without the extra exercise - but I'm doing a 4:3 diet, eating normally 4 days a week and fasting Mon, Weds and Fri. It has a lot of benefits beyond weight loss. My cholesterol has dropped a LOT and I feel much happier.

The great thing about the fast diet is that you still get to eat normal food - and you control when you diet rather than the diet controlling your life all the time.
  • Well assuming you only need 2000 calories a day, then your at a 700 calorie deficit. There are 3000 calories in a pound of fat, so in 4.25 days you'll lose a pound of fat. With vigorous and hard exercise maybe your at 2300 Make sure your eating enough protein, like 60 grams a day. There are some problems with this though. One if your eating more fiber you might have bloating/back up at first, causing you to gain feces. Also it's possible with your decrease in food, and increase in working out, you've consumed more water. It's easily to consume a couple pounds of water, since many people are dehydrated often. If that's the case then it might have 3 pounds of not fat, which means that you might have to wait 16 days to lose a pound.

This is fairly high calorie restriction, you need to be certain your getting enough fat, protein and vitamins if this is going to go for long term. Also exercise is best for weight control long term, not short term weight loss, so don't be disappointed when you don't see results fast. Many people who do exercise vigorously, will be less likely to eat as much junk food, and can help you from gaining weight. More important in the long term is continuing the exercise, and with less concern on calorie restriction. Think in the long term, not short term, and in a year, you'll see result, if your diligent. 115 calories a day, over a year is over 12 pounds. And a year will go by fast.

Also please don't go overboard on weight loss. Guys don't like stick figures. Fashion models are not hot, they are bony with no curves, no butt or boobs. They are basically living clothes racks, not sexy. Almost every guy will think your sexier at a bmi of 19, rather than 17 or 16. And of course you can be sexy at a bmi of 25 too. Guys care more about how you look with your clothes off, then your clothes on. Try to get a naturally feminine figure, not a skinny figure that looks like a preteen boy.

Best Exercise to Lose Weight For You

Recommanded Answer:
Losing 10 lbs a month is a good and safe target. Any faster weight loss is likely to be temporary only and in most cases you regain it all.

Running, jogging, cycling, swimming, dancing, push ups, sit ups, squats, brisk walking and power walking all help for weight loss but dieting helps more.

One of the healthiest weight loss diets is the DASH diet.

The healthy DASH diet can help you lose weight safely and effectively, lower your cholesterol and lower your blood pressure.

It is based on an eating plan rich in fruits and vegetables, and low-fat or non-fat dairy, with whole grains. It is a high fiber, low to moderate fat diet, and is rich in potassium, calcium, and magnesium.

You can see further details in a web search for "dash diet" + "lose weight".

  • There is no way to lose weight FAST that isn't possibly dangerous. Really the best thing you can do is eat right and workout. I'm in my second year of college and I know exactly what you're going through. I don't drink, and I STILL gained the "freshman 15" and even more my first year. Campus food is, for the most part, not very healthy for you. I would stick to eating healthy. What I try to do is eat a salad at least 4 times a week, maybe more, and instead of getting burgers I get turkey or veggi burgers. Cut out things like cheese as much as possible, because it's basically entirely fat which you don't need. If you really get a craving for something salty, try getting just plain potato chips instead of all the funky flavors. Try not to drink juice or soda as often, or if you do get low cal or diet drinks. If you are someone that LOVES snacks, bring snacks from home that you know are better for you, rather than getting the unhealthy things served at school. Also, eat lots of veggis and fruit, and east less pasta and other carbs.
I try to go to the gym at least 4 times a week, and I try to eat as best as I can (I know, it's hard.)
But do this and you should not only lose weight but also feel really good about yourself!
  • Dear Gabi,

You can surely lose your weight in 8 months only. A healthy diet helps you to lose your weight and stay healthy but one of the biggest challenges to eating healthier is finding substitutions for existing foods in your diet. Here are some tips to make the transition easier:

1.Use mustard instead of mayo on your sandwiches. You’ll get lots of flavor with much fewer calories and fat.

2.Select whole wheat bread over white bread. Be sure to read the label to ensure you’re getting whole grains, not just colored white bread.

3.Eat the white meat like chicken, which is lower in fat than dark meat, red meat. Animal fat is the number one dietary source of unhealthy saturated fat.

    4. Start using fish instead of high-fat cuts of meat.

5.If you cook, then change your cooking methods. Bake, grill or boil your meals instead of frying. Use non-stick sprays—or better yet, non-stick pans—instead of oil.

6.Drink more water. Slowly reduce the amount of soda you drink and replace it with herbal tea like green tea or water. Aim for eight cups of pure water each day.

7.Don't drink your calories. Eat a whole orange instead of drinking a glass of juice, for example. Real food is usually more filling and more nutritious than juices, fruit drinks, and other high-calorie beverages.

8.Gradually switch to skim milk. Milk commonly comes in four varieties: whole (4% fat), 2%, 1% and skim (0% fat). Gradually wean yourself from the higher-fat varieties to the lower fat milk every two weeks. For example: continue drinking your normal 2% milk for two weeks, then move to 1% for two weeks, and then your palate will be ready for the consistency of skim milk.

9.Switch from full-fat cheeses to reduced-fat or fat-free cheeses the same way you would with milk (see tip above).

10.Order vegetables on the side instead of fries. Flavor them with lemon juice or herbs instead of butter.

11.Snack on fruit and nuts instead of sugary treats. The fiber, protein and healthy fats in this combo will sustain you to your next meal and you won’t have the energy slump that comes after eating candy.

12.Reduce your portion size. Most people will eat whatever amount of food is in front of them, so start putting your meals on smaller plates. You will be just as satisfied because your mind "sees" that you’re eating a full plate of food.

You need to do the following also:

1.First calculate and then limit your calorie intake commensurate with your BMI. Don't stop eating food, all what you need to do is to just cut down your meals into six and eat healthy food.
2.Cut down your oil & fats intake.
    3.Cut down refined sugar intake.
    4.Avoid soda's like soft drinks.
5.Go for a brisk walk everyday for atleast one hour/ Yoga/ Jumping rope/ Dance/ Aerobics.
6.Drink hot water before your meals also take it in the morning with added honey & lemon juice, it may dissolve your fats inside.
7.Drink Green tea , as it is good for health and may help you to lose your weight also.
    8.Avoid junk.
9.Most of all, proper sleep of 6-8 hours is must.

Remember --- Never starve yourself !!!
When you fast, your body slows down your metabolism in order to conserve energy and survive the perceived famine. When you do go back to eating, your body wants to store up for the next starvation period, meaning that you are likely to gain weight even if you consume fewer calories.

Cutting calories can help you shed pounds, not eating altogether or fasting for weight loss is an extremely dangerous technique. Not only can it do damage to your body, but it can lead to serious problems, such as eating disorders. If you truly want to lose weight, eating a healthy diet and exercising daily is a better idea than starving yourself to become thinner.

Instead of skipping meals and depriving your body, eat foods that are low in calories, yet rich in nutrients, such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains. These will help your body function while providing the calories your body needs.

    Eat healthy & Stay fit!!!
  • You need a good fitness workout program. I suggest you insanity. and you have 8 months, it is enough time for you to lose weight.

How to tone my body after rapid weight loss?

I lost 20 pounds recently eating healthier meals on a low calorie diet. I intend to lose more, but I've noticed that my body has become very soft. I don't really exercise and I don't have any money to spare for the gym.
I was wondering if there was an at home, fun, not too difficult way to tone my body so that I don't end up looking like melted rubber as I lose more weight.
