Am I grossly obese or just chubby?

I'm 5 feet 7 inches tall, 16 years old, I have DD cup breasts, and I weigh 180 pounds. How much weight do I need to lose.

You are NOT grossly obese by any means, but you could probably lose some weight. Unfortunately, with DD cups, probably close to 10-15lbs is just in your bra. I have DDD cups and so I know how big they are. Fortunately, if you lose weight, breasts are all fat, so they will shrink as well.

Losing weight is about 80% what you eat, so focus on that. Change your lifestyle, don't go on a diet. Eat less junk/fast/fried foods and stop drinking sugary soda pop. Focus on eating a variety of foods including fruits and vegetables, but also lean proteins (chicken, turkey, fish, lean beef, plain greek yogurt), healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, nuts, hummus), brown rice, oatmeal, milk, low fat cheese, whole wheat bread, etc. Go grocery shopping with your parents next time to ensure they skip the junk and pick the foods that I listed above.

If you feel hungry, ask yourself, "Do I want some vegetables or just junk food?" If the answer is junk food, then you're not really hungry. Drink a big glass of water and wait 20 minutes. If you still feel hungry, but not for vegetables, then go do something else to keep yourself busy like text a friend or read a book or go for a walk. Exercise is great for your body and will help you lose faster. Walking, riding your bike, jumping rope (you don't even need a rope to do this, just go through the motions), dancing around the house - these are all great ways to get your heart rate up and burn calories.

Weight loss is about slow and steady, so start eating healthier, get in some exercise and it will take time, but you will see results for sure. Now that you will be living a healthier lifestyle, you won't ever have to worry about losing weight again because you will keep the weight off.

    you dont need to loose any weight.... but if you insist 150 is a good weight at 5'7....

    if your waist line is under 31 inches in circumference... you dont and shouldn't loose any weight
  • yes you are overweright. you need to lose a good 70 lbs with dieting. go for 30 min runs everyday with one off day and trust me you will lose weight!!!!!
