1. Music or just think to about personal stuff2. It helps A LOT to find a running partner. Keepin' each other motivated does wonders.3. At your age, just run. EAT HEALTHY!!!!! I CANNOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH!! People run a mile and reward themselves with a double cheeseburger. At that rate, you make no progress.I was in your situation at some point in time. You can do it if you apply yourself to it. Make running a religion.

How long does it take to get blood test results?

I went in today to get my blood tested. Every horrible disease runs in my family. I haven't been tested in a while. I'm nervous. I'm usually healthy and fit. I'm 20 and a non smoker. I do a lot of walking and hiking. I'm 5'1" 104lbs. I saw 5 different doctors who said I had a viral throat infection. They all said my throat was swollen. I can eat and drink fine but after my throat feels tight and dry. It takes me a few seconds to swallow. My doctor checked my thyroid and said it felt swollen that my lymph nodes aren't swollen. I have dental issues and was on antibiotics for it. My lymphs under my jaw were swollen and ached. My dentist said I have no infection. Negative step tests. My neighbor is going to medical school she said my symptoms sound like I have Hyperthyroidism.(Tired, hardly sleep, swollen neck, weight loss, headaches, neck aches, anxiety) Please nothing negative. I'm already scared. My anxiety is bad. How long will it take lab work and a ultrasound to go through?

How to Help Your Family Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

Most blood work result are done in a day or less. Having the lab send the result to your MD and having the MD look at them could take longer. Most generally if a blood test is not normal or off the charts, the lab may notify the MD office so you would be notified right away. Of course, there are exceptions to that because the lab work was lost or someone forgot to fax it to the MD office.Did you have an ultra sound already? Or are you waiting for one? Generally, depending where you live, you should be able to have your ultra sound soon and the results are read and sent to your MD like your blood work in a day or two.

How to Lose Weight Without Relying on Exercise

Recommended Answer:

Yes, if you can stick to it AND keep a healthy diet at the same time. Your diet is more important than exercise. So cut down on added sugar and fat. That means no sodas, candy, fast food, etc.Eat fresh veggies, fruits, wholegrains and white meat every day.Drink lots of water.Gradually, your exercise routine will start to become easier. When that happens, increase the amount :) Keep it challenging!Good luck with your weight loss.

Other Answers:

  • Yeah you could a lot of weight through exercise but exercise only contributes to 20% of weight loss. The remaining 80% is what's eaten in the kitchen! Nutrition is key. Try eating less bread, pasta, rice and more veggies fruit and lean protein! No doubt you will become super skinny and super healthy by doing so! Snack on carrot sticks and have fruit salads for breakfast :) if you are to eat carbs eat wholemeal bread and brown rice since they provide energy slowly for longer periods of time. Also ask yourself if you are really hungry or bored, this helps a lot too!
  • You have to combine diet with exercise to be successful. The workout looks good now as for your diet aim for less than 200 carbs per day total and at least 100 grams of protein. Lowering your carbs to 150 grams and less than 200 will help you lose weight with your workout. Be sure to eat at least 100 protein grams a day and limit those carbs to 150 to no more than 200 grams.Be sure to eat at least 150 carbs because you do need this amount for energy but stay under 200.
  • Yes, but unless you're in really good shape you're not going to complete it.Do it every other day. :)

Does anyone know good ways too lose weight other then my regular exercise routine?

I'm still over weight and I'm looking for a little extra boost for my regular exercise, I'm working on eating healthier, when I work out normally I run in the morning then some time at night I do curl ups I work out my arms a little and do squats for my legs just kinda a little bit of everything. Should I pump up the exercise? If anyone has any extra suggestions for anything that would be awesome! Thank you :)

How to Lose Weight With Cayenne Pepper

Recommended Answer:

you need cardio and a good diet to lose weight and that'll help you get faster. Also just get on a field and practice running the bases (stealing and as if you hit a triple) get your angles right on the base paths that will shave some time off. the only way to strengthen your arm is long toss, lifting weights won't help so much with arm strength. And remember when trying to "get stronger" baseball is all in the legs hitting is mostly in the lower half and strong legs help your crow hop throw go further. good luck and keep practicing

  • stay motivated, get in the cage, have a consistent workout regimen, and work on every aspect of your game. Also watch lots of baseball, you can always learn from the pros

if you need a ton of calories just to build muscle mass, how are you supposed to get abs?

how are you supposed to get abs if you need to get 4000 + calories every day to get muscle mass?it doesn't make sense.to get ripped abs you need to burn calories........to lose the fat around the belly that's covering the abs.i don't get it.i am currently trying to eat 4000 + cals every day to gain mass on my arms, chest...basically my upper body. how do i get visible abs at the same time?

How to Lose Weight After Having a Baby

Recommended Answer:

Cut and bulk cycles. Your currently bulking. Once you have the amount of muscle your looking for do a cut. Restrict calories to lose some fat. Lift during a cut to maintain lean mass.

Other Answers:

  • Calories doesnt help you build muscle! Too much like 4000+ helps you build FAT! Youll get fatter and fatter. What you need is protein! Eat back to 2000-2500 calories, but make sure most is protein
  • That is where the exercising comes into play.
  • Ab\Hancer my friend.
  • Who told you to eat calories to gain mass? Calories give you the energy to work out. Working out causes small tears in the muscles, when those tears are repaired the new muscle tissue is larger. You need protein to repair the muscle. So, working hard and eating protein causes muscle mass. That being said, you need to work the abdomen very hard to get ripped abs. It is very difficult, but can be done. I would suggest eating more protein and lowering your caloric intake.
  • You need to stop counting calories and start looking at fat burning foods that will help sustain your energy and muscle at the same time burning unwanted fat. Try: Greens -cabbage,lettuce,broccoli,spinach,kale,wheatgrassAlmonds for energy Almond milk over regular milk.Less meat of any kind Adequate rest Drink only water everyday all day

Do you have a mental illness?

Quickest Way to Lose Weight - How Lose Weight Quickly

Recommended Answer:
I have Major Depressive Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Bulimia Nervosa.

Well there are a lot of symptoms for those four...

For Major Depressive Disorder I have a depressed mood all of the time, hypersomnia (I sleep 12-16 hours a day), I barely eat because I''m never hungry, I have psychomotor retardation (everything I do takes so much effort. ex. getting out of bed, putting on clothes, taking a shower), I usually don''t get very much done (sometimes I can put off having a shower for 5-6 days because of the amount of effort it takes for me to have a shower). I isolate myself, I spend most of everyday in my room by myself. I never go out, unless it is to therapy. I self harm by cutting to shut out the emotional pain. I have constant feelings of guilt, sadness, and self-hate. I never think I am good enough, or that I deserve anything. I have suicidal thoughts on a daily basis. I have no motivation to do anything, like going for walks or even getting out of bed half the time. Because of the depression, I haven''t been able to go to school for the past 2 years. Those are just some of the symptoms.

For Social Anxiety Disorder, I have an extreme fear of being judged by other people, I have panic attacks in large groups of people, I am constantly worrying about what I look like because I''m scared of what people think of me (I spend 2-3 hours getting ready before I go out). I avoid all social contact that I can. I am scared to talk on the phone, or to a stranger, or walk through crowds of teenagers. I am scared to say thank you to the mud driver, or look the store clerks in the eyes. When I am anxious I have the tendency to start to cry, just from reflex, which causes me to be even more anxious. I cannot talk in front of crowds, I cannot ask a waiter for water at a restaurant, my thoughts are always jumbled because there are so many things going through my head. So basically, I don''t leave the house unless I have to because I''m paranoid and scared of other people.

For OCD, I have a different kind of OCD than you are probably used to hearing about. For me, my OCD is mostly thoughts that I do not want. I do have a bit of a problem with uneven numbers and things not being aligned, etc. But for the most part, my OCD is based on thinking things that I do not want to think. These are things that cause me a lot of stress. They are often thoughts about me killing or raping other people, or other people killing and raping me. These thoughts just come over and over and over, and they cause me to have severe panic attacks. Sometimes the thoughts come again and again until it feels like I might actually act on the thoughts even though I don''t want to. I''m constantly scared that I am going to hurt someone else, that I am a horrible person, even though I know that it''s the OCD causing these thoughts.

For Bulimia Nervosa, I haven''t really been having the physical symptoms lately because I haven''t been hungry (because I''ve fallen back into depression). I do still have the horrible guilt and self-hate from eating. Usually, when I am not severely depressed, I binge, eating more than 3000-5000 calories in about an hour. After this I feel so horrible about myself that I do one or all of these things. I throw up as much of the food as I possibly can, and then I exercise for 3-4 hours burning approximately 2000 calories for the next few days, and in those next fews days I do not eat a single thing. I usually only gain 2-3 pounds after a binge, which is not ''real'' weight, just from the food inside of me, and water weight and stuff, but then I lose about 5 pounds from the exercise and fasting. On days that I am not binging, I am eating a low 400 calories maximum, which is considered an anorexic diet, but because I binge/purge, I am Bulimic. My throat hurts for a while after purging, I am constantly sore from exercising, and I am ALWAYS hungry (when I am not depressed). My thoughts rarely move away from food, it''s always there in the back of my mind calling to me. It''s horrible, feeling like you are fat and worthless all of the time.

So......

How do I function? I don''t. I lie in bed all day watching movies to distract myself from the thoughts of wanting to kill myself. I barely leave the house. I take medication.

It''s hard every single day of my life. I am always wondering why I bother to even try and live through it. I''m only 16, I''ve been dealing the bulimia for about 6 months, the depression and anxiety for 3 years, and the OCD for a lot lot longer.

So yeah, that''s what my life is like.

  • My mind is ill because of all the horrible things I see on this planet, so I do have a mental illness. I named it mind-numbingness!
  • I have a couple, and it''s very hard to live with.
It''s a constant struggle and I feel like it''s something I need to deal with every single day.
Medication varies, and sometimes people are put on/off medications and make changes because it can take a very long time to find some that help you.

Sometimes their are side effects that can make mental illness''s worse, like wanting to make you commit suicide.
  • I feel like your illness might be not knowing when you''re asking a really personal question and should probably go fuck yourself.

As for meds, I''d recommend one bottle up your nose so you can use it to store that little turd you use for a brain, and that''s being generous.

I really hope you delete this question and wake up with some better sense.

Do you walk through hospital rooms asking who''s got what illness? Or gosh what''s it like having tubes in you? And cancer must be tough huh?
  • This is a close friend who suffers from Depression and mild Bipolar , what he does is to be with good people, friends family, read takes controlled medication, has a good partner who is very understanding and loving and friendly.
He also is close to the Lord,it very comforting to know there is some one who suffered for us,who felt every pain we feel and the pain of every one who has ever lived and will live.Even if there is no one out there you think will listen, there is some one.

Most days its hard for him,as he also has physical issues but he does his best and thats all any one can ask for.
  • I have been suffering with depression for a while now. It had impacted my social life greatly. I mostly stay to myself, something it is hard to focus, I find myself just thinking deep, can''t sleep, feel weak, chest pain, feeling like crying and other. I tried to exercise. I have tried many different depression medicines.I am on Wellbutin now, It is hard every single second.
  • I have a mental illness. It plagues my mind every waking second and even disturbs me in my sleep. I have anxiety/ depression and mild anorexia. I dont take medication and my parents dont know about my eating disorder. It makes me feel like I''m crazy. I want to die sometimes, but I always hold on. I need serious help but i dont know where to find it. I dont feel comfortable telling anyone in my family. But I have it good. "I cried I had no shoes until i met a man with no feet." There''s always someone out there who has it worse than I do so I try not to feel sorry for myself
  • I am a teenage girl who has been suffering from anxiety, depressions, OCD, panic attacks and emetophobia for years and years now. My symptoms are panic attacks, deep breathing (even when I''m not panicking), social anxiety (I get scared speaking to people for example, being in queues, I''d revise what I was going to say to the shop keeper over and over and get really worried about talking to them), very low moods, often cry a lot because I struggle talking about my problems and worries.
One of the hardest things for me is wondering how people around me think of me. Communicating with people around you about how you feel is so hard; my mind chatter often tells me "you''re just pestering them", "they obviously just think you''re an attention seeker", etc which is anxiety fueling me to keep my feelings and fears to myself.
I am lucky enough to have an understanding mother, father and partner who help me through everyday (though I still worry to myself that they don''t understand, or I''m annoying them, etc).
Yes, it is hard, but I''d say most days for me personally, because I do have great days where non of my symptoms will occur! But sadly, for a lot of people, its a struggle everyday - just depends on what symptoms and how people deal with them.

How to Lose Weight Without Losing Meat - The Weight Loss Program For Meat Lovers

Recommended Answer:
We are all 99% nature (genetics) and 1% nurture (changeable). Here is what we can do to sculpt our bodies.

1. Add fat - Adding fat for all but the extreme ectomorph is a simple matter of eating too many calories over a long period of time. We have no control over where the fat will be deposited on our body.

2. Lose fat - Fat loss must begin with diet. Exercise can help but no exercise can make someone lose fat if they eat too many calories. We have no control over where the fat leaves our body.

3. Add muscle - Adding muscle size requires a commitment to very hard strength training (anaerobics). We don''t get big muscles from aerobic ("cardio") exercise. It only comes very slowly from working out against substantial resistance.

4. Lose muscle - There is no healthy way to lose natural (genetic) muscle. We can, however, allow our muscles to atrophy or grow smaller by not using them. We can also "waste" muscle by starving them of nutrition. These, of course, are not a healthy options but they are the only way to make lean muscle smaller (less volume).

That''s it. That''s all we can do without surgery. You cannot exercise away muscle. That''s a myth. However, with proper diet you can lose fat. But that''s not going to help you keep your booty.

People generally store fat at the waist line first and then, as they add more body fat, it creeps upward and downward from there. When they lose it, it comes off in the reverse order. So, there almost no chance you can lose thigh fat without first losing fat at the waist, hips, and derriere too.

We work with the body our genetics has given us.

Good luck and good health!!

  • I know that you want to only reduce your legs but it os better if u reduce a little bit of butt to still having it big, but firm. Also sometimes having a smaller butt will look better on mini shorts and jeans.

Trying to find the best gym routine for my body type?

I''m a 110 lb female in my mid 20''s and I would like to tone up a bit for the summer. With my schedule, I am able to go to the gym about 4 times a week for roughly an hour. What would be the best gym routine for me as far as cardio verses weights? Also, what are the most important things for me to cut out of my diet? I eat relatively health so I guess I am just looking for some strong pointers.

Also, I know I can''t spot train but I tend to keep my weight in my hips and thighs so anything that would slim down that area would be helpful.

Great Options For You to Lose Weight Naturally

Recommended Answer:
Stay away from saturated and trans fat, unsaturated fat is good in moderate amounts. You must abstain from candy, a little treat now and then won''t hurt though. Do not over eat your carbohydrates, eat enough - you''ll have to determine this yourself. You''ll also need to intake adequate amounts of protein and water.

How much you ingest will depend on the combination/intensity of your workout. There is no method to isolate areas to lose fat, so you''ll have to ramp up cardio. I don''t know how experienced you are at working out, but I''d suggest a split of 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weights. You''ll have to consider what body type you are: ectomorph, endomorph, or mesomorph.

For your cardio:
Do a 1 mile test to see how fast you can run it. Use that as your base speed and try to improve on that, eventually use incline + faster speed to make your cardio workouts better.

For your weights:
I''m assuming you want a toned abdominal section, arms, thighs, glutes, and calves.

Ab Exercises: leg lifts (begin by lifting your knees up, progress to keeping your legs straight and lifting them), incline ab bench, and weighted ab crunches
Arm Exercises: bicep curls, lateral and frontal raises for deltoids, tricep pulldowns and kickbacks
Lower Body Exercises: squats, calf press

  • I recommend training different muscle groups each session, so that you are working them relatively well. rather than train your whole body every day.

Just make sure you work all of your body, balance yourself out and keep healthy (you cant choose were you lose weight). Combination of weights and cardio is needed.
  • If you can only do the gym 4 times a week, then you need to prioritise. Strength training in the gym and run on the other 3 days.

You want to get ''toned''. Well, there is on such thing as toned. You either build muscle or lose fat. From what I can see, toned is a combination of both, but it is nearly impossible to build muscle and lose fat simultaneously.

To lose the weight, you do cardio. Low resistance, high rep, high speed is the best. They also need to use a lot of muscle mass. This is why running and swimming are very popular because the legs and lats are the two biggest muscle groups.

    Day 1: Running or cycling
Day 2: Legs hurt? Lat exercises like assisted pull ups (or feet on the floor) and bent over rows
Day 3: Legs still hurt? Lats hurt? Chest exercises. Push ups are VERY good
Day 4: Legs hurt? Lats hurt? Chest hurts? Abs. Crunches, sit ups, planks

You could of course do them in this same order but do more than one on the same day.

    Diet:
Vegetables are your friend for weight loss:
    low calorie
    nutritious
    cheap
    tasty
can beat eaten raw (best eaten raw)

How can I tell if I''ve lost weight?

I''m 15, female, 5''7, and around 114lbs. I used to always eat less than 1000 calories but I didn''t lose enough that way, so for the past week I''ve been eating less than 400. I know I''m anorexic, I don''t need lectures. The last time I got weighed was in November and I was 114 then. My clothes are a bit too big but not noticably. I don''t own a scale. I usually run for 45 minutes every day for track. Does anybody have a prediction of how much weight I may have lost?
