How to lose weight as a 16 year old girl?

I am 5'9 and weigh 171 pounds.I have tried so many diets but i always end up quitting them or just giving up after a couple of weeks or even days. It is so hard to maintain a diet! How do you continue on a diet? What is a good plan for food and exercise amount? How many calories should I take in daily? What is a good motivator to stay on a diet?
