HELP! I can't stick to my low-carb diet!?

I'm doing a low-carb diet with my friend. Unfortunately it seems that I have no will power or self control. I am addicted to white bread, cereal and cookies! I can't stop picking at these things every time I go into the kitchen... I would stop buying them but I have foreign students staying in the house, and they want sandwiches and breakfast cereals, and it seems unfair to deny them carbs because of my diet.

Does anybody have any tips, or low carb things that I could pick at when I go into the kitchen as opposed to all the processed junk I have been eating?
Thanks :)

4 Simple Tips On How To Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
The reason you can't stick to a low carb diet is because your body really needs carbs. You have to know there are good carbs and bad carbs and good carbs are great for you and provide nutrients and fiber. The main problem with a low carb diet is that once you start eating carbs again, you will gain back all the weight you lost and probably more. It's very hard to eat such low carbs and impossible for most people.

Complex carbs are the ones that give your body the best fuel. They are usually found in foods high in fiber, which break down more slowly, giving you a steady blood sugar level through the day and making you feel less hungry and irritable when mid-afternoon rolls around.

It's a great idea to get more of these carbs into your daily diet:
Fresh fruit, ideally those with a low glycemic Index like apricots, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries
Non-starchy vegetables
Whole grains and foods made from whole grains, such as certain types of bread and cereal
Nuts
Legumes
Dairy products that are not sweetened with sugar, such as yogurt, sour cream, cheese and milk

Your body quickly breaks down simple or bad carbs, giving your blood sugar a spike and sending you running back to the kitchen or snack machine within hours of your last fix. Unless you're an athlete or need a sudden rush of energy for some reason, it's usually best to avoid these carbs in your daily diet:
Refined grains like white bread, white rice and enriched pasta
Processed foods such as cake, candy cookies and chips
White potatoes
Sweetened soft drinks
Sugar

Stop driving yourself crazy and just eat less food and get some exercise. You don't have to do anything drastic like cutting carbs to lose weight. You can still have bread, just pick whole wheat bread. You can still have a cookie every now and then, just not every day. I would recommend that you join www.myfitnesspal.com. It's free and helps you eat the right number of calories per day to lose weight. There are tons of foods in their database, so everything you eat is probably already in there. You log your food and exercise and the pounds will come off. I've lost 537bs so far using My Fitness Pal! Good luck!
