How bad is gluten? Benefits of eating all organic foods?

I'm 16, 5'7 and 134 pounds. I want to get down to 118. I've been trying to eat natural foods, and mostly organic. I've seen a lot of "gluten free" products lately, how bad really is gluten? Also, will going organic make that big of a difference on my health/ weight loss? Thank you!
