Healthy body image idea?

So, I'm a 15 year old girl who has lost 60 pounds in 8 months. I started at 5 foot 6, 195, and now I'm 135. I want to lose about 15-20 more pounds a majority of which is belly fat, and tone up. I think weighing myself every day and strictly counting calories is making me miserable. So...school starts in two weeks. I think I've decided I'm not going to weigh myself until the morning before. I'm also going to stop counting calories strictly, but I WILL watch what I eat and estimate.I started today, this is my diet intake:I had a handful of goldfish crackers while running after preschoolers at Vacation Bible School from 8:30 to twelve this morning. Not the best choice, but I forgot to bring myself a snack. a bottle of water (50 calories)Brunch: a bowl of whole grain oatmeal with peanut butter mixed in and half a banana. two bottles of water (400 calories)Snack: a handful of baby carrots and a few blueberries (50 calories)Dinner: a baked chicken breast seasoned with garlic, steamed carrots, and greenbeans (400 calories), bottle of waterI am about to head to the gym and do an hour of cardio. (20 minutes on the elliptical, 20 of interval training on the treadmill, and 20 on the stationary bike) which will probably burn 400. Throughout the day, I've done about 30 minutes of strength training exercise. Tonight for a snack I'll probably have some air popped popcorn with a dash of garlic salt.I'll estimate by the end of the day I'll have consumed about 1100-1300 calories and burned 500-600. Am I doing okay? And do you think not weighing myself will help my body image?

However, you need to be careful to not lose too much. As a growing teen, you should keep 20% body fat whether or not you happen to like how it appears on your body. The most economical way to do that is to buy some skin fold calipers and learn how to take the measurements. You'll need to buy some calipers like this --> http://www.heartratemonitors.com/hrmfat.html?productid=hrmfat&channelid=FROOG or this --> http://www.heartratemonitorsusa.com/accufitness-f3k.html?productid=accufitness-f3k&channelid=FROOG&utm_source=CSEs&utm_medium=GoogleShopping&utm_campaign=heartratemonitorsusa .Then follow the instructions that come with the calipers or use a website like this ---> http://www.muscleandstrength.com/tools/how-to-measure-bodyfat-using-calipers.html or this --> http://www.free-online-calculator-use.com/skin-fold-test.html#Chest .Measuring body fat with calipers is tricky and requires some practicing until you begin to get consistent and accurate measurements. Obese people can't expect good results from using this method. Don't expect extreme accuracy because there is not accurate way to measure body fat. Using calipers in the best way possible should get you within 3-5% of your actual body fat percent. Also, don't focus too much on the numbers without a good reason. How much body fat you have is not about numbers. It's about how you look and how you feel. How do you classify as anorexic?

How many meals do you have to miss to be considered anorexic? I heard if you miss meals, drink a lot of liquids and exercise a lot it won't be as harmful for the body. Is this true? And if your 5.0" how much do you need to weigh to be consider anorexic?

How to Eat Carbs and Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

Google "bmi calculator". Enter your height and weight and it will tell you your bmi. A bmi under 18 is underweight. Being underweight, having irregular or stopped periods, and hair loss are all physical signs of anorexia, but the anorexia itself is a mental condition that is often connected to depression, anxiety, and extreme perfectionism. Not all anorexics are underweight. If you think you might be anorexic, please please please talk to your doctor before it gets out of control. Therapy can be incredibly helpful too.

Other Answers:

  • Anorexia isn't classified by a certain weight or meal structure. It is a mental illness.
  • Anorexia doesn't have to do with weight. Most girls who are anorexic though are underweight (bmi is under 18). It's about self conciseness about the way you look and on how you need to be skinnier. It's about not eating or eating very little amounts of food, (often 500 calories or under). It's starvation and not good. It can last for weeks, months years even decades.Don't let anorexia enter your life
  • Eating comes prior to exercising. No amount of liquids can replace food. Exercise cannot take place without food and if you try it, you will be considered anorexic. It can harm the body, and there is no point in missing meals as food is generally good for you. Missing meals is a serious issue.

Weight Loss - Are You Fighting With Yourself to Lose Weight?

Recommended Answer:
You might try this diet. My dad did it. He was 6''1 315lbs and dropped to 215 in one year. It is just a very low carb diet. Which means no chips/crackers/fast food or at least in extremely small quantities. But the good thing is you can eat as much meat as you want. You want to try to keep your carbs below 50 grams/day

This will give you some more information on it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketogenic_diet

This site is a bunch of other people together in one community who have or are going through keto. They post before and after pictures, tell their stories, and post delicious recipes for this diet. Many of them work out with it, which is great. But many of them don''t do any exercise, just the diet.
http://www.reddit.com/r/keto

If you are against diets because they are too hard, just give it 2-3 weeks. It is extremely tempting in those first 2 weeks but you will find yourself thinking less and less about food that you can''t have

Also, I''ve heard that running is the best way to lose weight. If you don''t like running, try swimming or biking, thats what my dad did. An all around work out is extremely beneficial along with running but I believe running is the most important and helpful.

Good luck!

What''s the most recommended bodybuilding protein caplet?

Hey, everybody. So, I''ve started to go to weightlifting a few nights a week so I can play football for my high school next year.
I''m about 6'', 215 lbs, and I really need to start building muscle. I''m totally aware there is no better way than to go to every weightlifting session, and pushing myself, and I''m all for that.
But I really want a protein supplement to help. I need to start piling on muscle mass fast, I need results that I can see and feel.

I specifically ask for caplets or capsules because I can''t stand powder mixes, even though I''m told every time that powder''s one of the best ways to go. I''d rather just take a few pills and be done with it.

I''ve Googled a few things, checked out a few sites, seen BCAA and creatine, but I don''t know what to use. As I said, I need true supplements, with gains I can feel and see if I push myself while using them.

So what does Yahoo! Answers recommend? I''m young, jobless, and my family isn''t quite top-dollar so I''m definitely looking for a budget-friendly purchase, and I''m also looking that I don''t have to take 14 caplets every day, because I personally feel that''s ridiculous.

I need recommendations, if Yahoo! would be so kind. An affordable, easy-to-take protein capsule that will help me to bulk up quick and give me results that I need to become stronger. Any help at all on the topic of caplets would be a help, seeing that I don''t really even know all that much, I''m relatively new to the world of protein supplements.

Thanks to all that can help out! :)

How To Lose Weight Fast and Safely

Recommended Answer:
You rarely need to take protein supplements. You get enough protein from your daily diet.

According to the Mayo Clinic, 10 – 35% of your daily dietary intake should be protein – whether trying to gain weight, lose weight, or maintain weight. Most of this comes from our regular food and we seldom need to take protein supplements. Even more damning for this myth are two recent studies by independent sport medicine journals in which various people (including bodybuilders) were given varying extra quantities of protein each day; summing one study up, Dr Richard Krieder from the University of Memphis said: “Although it is important for athletes to get an adequate amount of protein . . . consuming additional amounts of protein does not appear to promote muscle growth.”

  • Do u have any common sense food is better than supplements. The body wasnt made to absorb the chemicals that r in supplements.

Tips on Losing Weight?

I''m going to Las Vegas in 55 days, and to San Francisco in August and I want to feel good about myself before I go. (Not looking for a quick way to lose weight. I just want to feel a bit better about myself.) I''ve been wanting to lose about 15-20 lbs. I am only 17, and It''s not hard to make time to exercise but I find it really hard to make healthy choices. I need help and tips. Also I know it may be different for everybody, but when do you typically start seeing results?

Holiday Weight Loss Tips - How to Lose Weight During the Holiday Season

Recommended Answer:
I recommend eating 5/6 smaller, more frequent meals a day. Since you are constantly eating, your metabolism is constantly working so you burn fat. It''s definitely great if you''re a big snacker. If you like big meals, then i suggest keeping with the standard 3 meals a day but leaving a 5 hour gap between your meals, no snacks.
Overview your diet and see how you can make changes. What you eat the most could be the cause of why you are carrying the extra weight. Please please, don''t make such a huge change to your diet since your body will freak out and you will be tempted to switch back to your old diet within a few days. Just make small, effective changes and you will see results.

For exercise, I recommend ''Tiffany Rothe'' workouts on YouTube. Her videos are so fun to do and she has videos which targets specific parts of your body, meaning you can focus on the parts you dislike the most.
You need an account to verify you''re 18 years or older; I know your 17 but I suggest making a account and doing the exercises anyway since the content is nothing inappropriate.

Best of luck with your weight loss!
:)

  • Ok, eat three healthy meals a day. For instance for breakfast have eggs, bacon, toast, milk, and juice. A thing from every food group every meal. Or do small meals 5 times a day ( while getting all the nutrients you need) and excercise regularly. I noticed a difference within 3-5 days
  • If you''re trying to lose weight, a balanced vegetarian diet may be an option for you. Some people find that a vegetarian diet forces them to make healthier choices during meal times. However, beware of consuming too many carbohydrates! Keep your pasta and bread intake moderate, otherwise you''ll miss out on the benefits of a vegetarian diet.

If you are attempting to lose weight during the holiday season, it can be difficult with so many parties and gatherings where there are high fat, high calorie, foods and snacks served. To keep yourself on track, eat a healthy and filling meal ahead of time. You can still indulge while you are there, but you will eat less than if you had shown up hungry.

Is this a good cheat meal? Best answer 10 pts!?

I have a very clean diet. im very active, im in boxing, i weight train, and i do this program insanity. i lost 11 lbs so far. i want to lose about 9-13 more lbs. my goal is to get toned abs.Well at the end of the week i usually give myself one cheat day and tommarow i plan to have a movie night by myself and have a popcorn, 4 candy bars (2 recees, 2 poptarts, snickers, hersheys bar) Can i do this? I mean i did it last friday and went on to losing a good 3 lbs this week!

Easy Ways to Lose Weight and Burn Excess Fat Safely

Recommended Answer:
You can do it but it will slow down your progress. Keep this in mind: to maintain your body weight, you need 2000 calories a day. A pound of fat is 3500 calories. A safe weight loss plan has 1000-1500 calories a day. Your cheat day seems a bit excessive and you really don''t need to eat 2 reeses, 2 poptarts, snickers, hershey, and popcorn. Keep the popcorn (a movie must) the poptarts (has grains and some nutrients) and reeses (for the peanut butter), drop the hershey and snicker for another day.

Honestly, it all depends on what you want for when. If you''re like me and want abs as fast as possible, don''t do this. If you''re also easy to stop your diet (like me), don''t pig out because you''ll start craving it and won''t want to stop.

  • That''s a lot of sugar bro. Just go to mcdonalds.
  • theres not really a "good" cheat meal/day. it is what it is. it doesnt affect you that much so do what you want on your cheat days
  • i have a cheat day scheduled for most fridays

you should try to eat more meat instead of carboloading. carbohydrates turn straight to body fat

keep the chocholate avoid the poptarts replace it with some meat
  • I wouldn''t if u are doing insanity. Keep pushing hard.
  • Why so much? that''s just greedy and not even a cheat meal that''s just binging like hell and it''s highly unhealthy...I seriously do not recommend eating like that, your arteries will be clogged to hell eating like that, and you''ll gain weight back very fast....eat something much smaller.
  • I think that is a perfectly good cheat meal. It may not be the best thing for your body, but if you are only doing this once a week and still losing weight then go for it.

I also do insanity, and it really is a great program, and if you want to loosen up once a week and eat what you spend all week losing, it is up to you.

You may want to, every week you do this cheat meal, maybe cut down some of the unhealthy things you eat during this cheat meal. Until you get down to say 2 chocolate bars and a popcorn. If you are still losing weight and going to movies and having fun then keep going, just make sure you only do this once a week.
