Are there such foods with negative calorie?

I have been consuming tomatoes, berries, carrots and mostly all green veggies without gaining weight. I have read that those foods aid in fat burning and are very low calorie dense. Therefor loaded with nutrients and its extremely hard to pack on pounds.

How to Quickly Lose Weight by Drinking Water

Recommended Answer:

If it counts celery gives less calories that what you use to eat it; so surely your calories -- celery calories = minis calories gained

Other Answers:

  • What are you asking? None of those foods are "negative calorie", nor do they aid in "fat-burning". However they're certainly not high calorie either, and no you probably won't get fat eating just those things -- though most people would not feel their hunger satisfied by those things either. It does take a large quantity of that stuff to equal very many calories.Of course you can eat and not gain weight, that's normal. That's because you burn well over 1000 calories a day just living and breathing, running your brain and liver, and heating your body temp to 98.6 degrees. Even sedentary, that takes energy.
  • Fun fact: Calories are measured by the amount of energy you get if you set your (dried) food on fire. not by how your body uses it. By that definition no food has negative calories (cause either it gives off energy or it doesn't. But like George said: there might be food that requires more calories eating it than it gives to the body. But your body needs food with calories!

I need to lose weight!?

I'm a 14 year old female. I weigh 146 pounds and I hate it! I want to be thin again. I'd like to lose at least 10lbs, preferably within the next month. (Before school starts) The extra weight is really taking a toll on my self esteem.

How to Lose Weight in a Month

Recommended Answer:

How tall are you? Depending on your height, 146 pounds might be in the healthy weight zone. Check out this website to see where you lie on the scale: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obesity/BMI/bmicalc.htmBut, even if you're in the healthy range, it's common to want to lose weight. Here's the basic science behind losing weight: Our bodies burn a certain amount of calories each day by themselves, just from our organs functioning. This is called our Basal Metabolic Rate, or BMR. We also burn calories in our day to day activities, i.e. walking around, talking, even laughing. In order to lose weight, we consume fewer calories than we burn. One pound is roughly equivalent to 3500 calories. So if I burn 2000 calories a day, and I eat 1500 calories each day, I'm cutting out 500 calories, and I would burn about 1 pound that week. Here's a good calculator for it: http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.phpMost food containers have a nutrition label where you can see the calorie content per serving. You can also look up foods online. There are many apps on iphones/ipods that you can track calories on. Also drink plenty of water!Exercise is wonderful for weight loss. Not just because it adds to the number of calories your burn that day, but because if you exercise regularly, it boosts your metabolism and raises the number of calories your body burns every day. It also just makes you feel good. I would definitely recommend exercising. Start out slow, maybe go on a long walk, then the next few times alternate walking and running, then eventually work up to a slow jog. Don't burn yourself out by trying to run a marathon on your first day.A word of WARNING though: The AHA (American Heart Association) recommends that you eat AT LEAST 1200 calories a day. If you eat less than that, you are not giving your body enough nutrients. Even worse, if you eat less than 1200 calories, you body can go into "starvation mode," and start to build up fat. So if you're trying to lose weight and you don't eat enough, it will have the reverse effect.ALSO: When you first start to exercise, it may "shock" your body, especially if you haven't worked out in a while. Your muscles have to recover, so in the first week or two, you might notice some weight gain on the scale. Don't be discouraged! This is temporary! Your body is just reacting to the sudden change. Keep at it, and your body will get used to it put the weight back down.Bottom line: You are 14 years old. Your body is still changing. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is insecure about their bodies in one way or another. Don't obsess over weight loss because you hate yourself. Work towards a healthier lifestyle because you LOVE yourself and you want to take care of your body. I know how you feel. But don't be discouraged. You still have so much growing to do, and I can guarantee you're not the only one you feel this way. Keep at it. Good luck :)

Other ways to fight a craving for sweets?

Well, I take mood stabilizer for my Bipolar disorder, and I've been put on a diet where I cannot eat a lot of greasy, fried, foods, candies, etc, otherwise it can raise my blood pressure and/or give me diabetes.I have the worst cravings on earth for donuts, Pizza, etc, and my family doesn't help much either. My dad often buys fast food and candy basically everyday, and it's the most tempting thing on earth. (He even knows I'm on this diet!)What I've noticed that helps curve my cravings is eating oranges. So far, I've eaten around five to eight oranges a day-- developing an addiction. I know eating too much of anything is bad and was wondering if there's other alternatives to oranges?

How to Calculate Calorie Intake to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

There are many reasons why we go for sweet things. That appetite maybe genetic for human race. Sweet is the first taste humans prefer frombirth. Carbohydrates stimulate the release of the feel-good brainchemical serotonin. Sugar is a carbohydrate, but carbohydrates come inother forms, too, such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. The taste of sugar also releases endorphins that calm and relax us,and offer a natural "high".Sweets just taste good, too. And that preference gets reinforced byrewarding ourselves with sweet treats, which can make you crave iteven more.If you're craving sugar, here are some ways to tame those cravings.1. Give in a little. Eat a bit of what you're craving, maybe a smallcookie or a fun-size candy bar. Enjoying a little of whatyou love can help you steer clear of feeling denied. Try to stick to a150-calorie threshold.2. Combine foods. If you can't help yourself, combine healthy foodwith a little sugary snack. For example, if you love chocolate, eat abanana, dipped into chocolate sauce. As a beneficial bonus, you'll satisfy a craving and get healthy nutrientsfrom those good-for-you foods.3. Go cold turkey. Cutting out all simple sugars works for some people, although the initial 48 to 72 hours are tough. Somepeople find that going cold turkey helps their cravings diminish aftera few days; others find they may still crave sugar but over time areable to train their taste buds to be satisfied with less.4. Grab some gum. If you want to avoid giving in to a sugar cravingcompletely, try chewing a stick of gum. Research has shown thatchewing gum can reduce food cravings.5. Reach for fruit. Keep fruit handy for when sugar cravings hit. You'llget fiber and nutrients along with some sweetness. And stock up onfoods like nuts, seeds, and dried fruits.6. Get up and go. When a sugar craving hits, walk away. Take a walkaround the block or do something to change the scenery.7. Choose quality over quantity. If you need a sugar splurge, pick awonderful, decadent sugary food, but keep it small. Forexample, choose a perfect dark chocolate truffle instead of aking-sized candy bar, then "#savor every bite - slowly.8. Eat regularly. Waiting too long between meals may set you up tochoose sugary, fatty foods that cut your hunger. Instead, eating every three to five hours can help keep blood sugar stable andhelp you avoid irrational eating behaviour. Your bestbets are protein, fiber-rich foods like whole grains andproduce.

16 Reasons to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Doing an effective whole body conditioning and weight loss workout
can be done entirely at home without any fancy equipment. A couple of
dumbbells is all you will need. (Even if you don''t have dumbbells
there is usually something lying around the house that is heavy enough
to substitute in for them).
Here is a list of 20 exercises you can do right in your own home for
a great whole body conditioning and fat loss workout.

Exercises:

Group 1:

Bodyweight Squats
Bulgarian Split Squats
Y-Squats
Prisoner Squat
Reverse Lunge
Step Ups
One Leg "Get Ups"

Group 2:

Push Ups
Push Up and Point
Mountain Climbers
Decline Push Ups
Push Ups/Stick Ups
Step Up and Press
Squat and Press

Group 3:

Plank
Side Plank
Curl and Press
One Arm Rows
Bird Dogs
One Leg Deadlifts

Pick one exercise from each group and do them all back to back for a
mini circuit of 3 exercises. Do each exercise for a timed interval of
10 seconds for a total of 30 seconds per mini circuit.
As you get better at them work up to doing each exercise for 20
seconds for a total of 60 seconds per mini circuit.
Take 30-60 seconds rest between mini circuits.
For beginners do a total of 3 mini circuits to start. Working up to 4
or 5 as you get better at them.
Once you''re ready to move to the next level add a second mini circuit
by choose 3 different exercises (one from each grouping). Do your
second mini circuit with the same time of work to rest ratio as your
fist.
If you feel you are already at an advanced level you can add one or
two more mini circuits up to a total of 4 mini circuits. These 20
exercises are just an example of what is possible, there are dozens
more that would work in this mini circuit style, you can incorporate
any exercise that you like into these mini circuits. This style of
workout is a great complete whole body conditioning and fat loss
program you can do right at home in under 45 minutes.

  • You can do more exercises.
  • 1200 calories a day. You are short so that''s going to make things more of a challenge. Exercise is great, but it takes 1 mile run/walk/whatever to burn 100 calories which isn''t a lot. Weight loss is achieved through healthy eating.
  • zumba!! they have zumba vids on youtube!

Lose Weight Fast - How NOT to Lose Weight Fast!

Recommended Answer:
In my opinion, you weigh the perfect amount for your height. But if you do want to lose a few pounds 1) Definately keep the max of 1,200 calories a day 2) Delete meat and/or unhealthy snacks/beverages from your diet because most fats come from this (I became a vegeterian to lose weight & not only has it impacted my weight but i have more energy!) 3) Drink only water BUT take calcium supplement you don''t want to lose bone density, it WILL effect your future 4) Find a workout that you love, if you like to walk maybe take a walk for 30 minutes before and after bed enjoying the nature ; or check out youtube try zumba or yoga. the possibilities are endless as far as workouts go 5) Food diary- keeping track of your weight/Food eaten per day will help you organize the food aspect of your life. 6) Enjoy Life i would do anything to go back and be a teen again. Don''t overly obess with weight even though it is good to be aware. People will not judge you at the end of the day by how you looked, but how you impacted them. Good Luck hon!

How to Lose Weight Really Fast in 3 Easy Steps

Recommended Answer:
I would suggest what I did... I lost 10 pounds in a month...

Breakfast: Fruit smoothie, 200 calories
Lunch: Salad, fruit, 300 calories
Snacks: Fruit, veggies, or yogurt, 200 calories
Dinner: Should be less than 700 calories. Check the special k website, they have good, low-calorie meals.

You need to make sure you are eating healthy things, no stuff that has lots of carbs, hence the fruit and veggies. (I never have granola bars, even for snacks.) I also cut a lot of meat out of my diet; I''m on my way to becoming a vegan. Make sure you get enough protein though, I usually put a protein powder in my smoothie for breakfast.

Don''t have too little calories, otherwise your body will start storing fat. (it goes into survival mode when it goes too long without enough food. Light snacking and spreading out your food is encouraged!)

What kind of exercises are you doing? You should do cardio, but also muscle building exercises to speed up your metabolism. Try an elliptical trainer, treadmill, and core-building exercises.

This is NOT a professional opinion, just personal. It worked for me, and I am now healthy.

  • Mabie you should add a little more fruits and veggies and 100 cal. after your workout
  • No, those bars won''t give you enough nutrients or energy, and you''ll end up with malnutrition problems. This way you won''t have energy distributed throughout the whole day so you will end up shutting down, and eventually start eating the wrong stuff.
You should choose a healthy nutrition plan, and one that you can keep for the rest of your life, even when you achive your weight goal.
Try to eat 5/6 times a day:

At breakfast, eat one or two slices of whole-grain bread (depending on the bread type) with fresh chese or chicken breast, a glass of milk and a piece of fruit. You can alternatively eat whole-grain cereal with milk and fruit.
During the morning, eat a piece of fruit and a hand-full of nuts.
At lunch, eat rice, pasta or boiled potatoe with grilled chicken or turkey meat or fish, and a lot of salad or boiled vegetables.
During the afternoon, eat a yoghutr or a cup of milk with fruit.
At dinner, eat a soup and some fish or turkey/chicken meat (grilled).

Now, for the exerise part, you can either walk, jog, or do other type of cardio, but don''t forget to warm up and stretch before and after exercising. A good way to keep motivated is to alternate between one of those DVD workouts (you can grab them easily from the internet), and a walk or a jog. Try to do at least 15-20 minutes and increase the time weekly, as you get more comfortable.

Be aware that weight loss does not happen overnight, and it will take you several months or years to reach your goal, but you''d better do it now, instead of keeping for when you''re older (it will be much harder to lose the weight then).

Does this sound like a good general health/weight loss plan?

I'm only looking to lose about 5 pounds as I am naturally a very small and lightweight person, however have gained about 5 pounds recently due to terrible eating habits! I want to become vegan (I'm already vegetarian) and am right now currently dealing with many binge eating problems. So, I decided this week I'll let myself eat how I want but switch over to the vegan diet (which will also be healthier, so hopefully if I am bingeing then it is on healthier things?) and then next week I'll continue with the vegan diet but I'll focus even more on the healthier aspect; as in not just eating vegan, but trying to make healthy choices with it (a banana over shreddies cereal, homemade soup over store-bought veggie burger etc...) I think if I switch to more and more healthier alternatives, the bingeing will subside as I tend to only binge on really nasty foods. Does this sound like a good plan? :)
5 pounds might look like nothing on other people but on me 5 pounds is a huuge difference! I am a VERY tiny girl and 5 pounds has made my stomach look like a giant blowfish. I have a fast metabolism so I don't gain alot from binge eating but it is really unhealthy for me to be eating this way and I want to stop mainly for my own health. Eating a healthier diet will help me overcome binge eating I think
