How to Lose Weight Properly

Recommended Answer:

Sure, you'll lose weight. But how long will you be able to keep that up? Losing weight is a gradual process. You can lose weight in a short span of time by eating very small amount like that but once you go back to your normal eating habit, the lost weight will ALL come back to you and sometimes in a heavier form! So trust me, switch your diet into a healthier diet and do your cardio exercise (running, jump roping, swimming, elliptical, etc.) everyday consistently and you will see a change. The more you starve your body, the more cravings you will get. And what happens when your body craves food for a long time? You'll lose control and eat a lot more than you should later on. Pick a healthier diet choice and you will lose weight! Good luck.

Other Answers:

  • Yes you will but its bad for you, If your going to try this Buy some vitamin pills :)
  • You will be starving your body. Find out what your BMR is and never eat below that number. If you don't want to bother with counting calories than simply continue to eat the same amount as you usually do, but add in exercises and you will still lose weight in a healthy way. Also, try eating healthier foods and this will help you lose weight as well.
  • You will lose weight yes...But you would be better off just portioning and eating better foods at all meals of the day. Not eating isn't healthy. If you eat healthier at every meal and exercise you will lose weight. It might not all come off all at once, but you will lose it.Also the problem with only eating once a day is that if you do lose a good amount of weight and then you start eating three meals again, all the weight will come back.Trust me, this comes from personal experience and I've currently lost 24ish pounds and have been eating healthier for about half a year without exercise
  • Eating less isnt exactly the answer. I've read eating 5 small meals a day is most healthy. If you eat multiple times a day it balances your metabolism (from what I've researched). Starving your body is bad and eating too much is bad. Although diet is important in losing weight, excersising is still most important.I watched a video of a girls weight loss story and she said she ate everything she normally did but it lesser serving sizes and instead worked out a lot. If you eat normally and are on the curvy side, working out and drinking water ONLY are about as healthy as you can get.If you're overweight and eat a lot, then change your diet.
  • It is not good for you to just have one meal a day.
  • When you wake up- lemon juice and one tea spoon honey.Breakfast- low fat cereal, small bowl of courseLunch- one veg sandwich, brown bread, choose low fat brown bread.Tea- a beverage of your choice and 2 low fat biscuits.Dinner- chicken salad, just chicken n vegetables of your choice n some salt n pepper.Whenever you feel hungry during the day--- drink green tea.. it burns fat, eat citrus fruits, drink a lot of water of course because it kind of fills your stomach. This might sound weird but I would advise you against exercise, it just makes you hungrier.. take vitamin c supplements. Green tea along with vitamin c helps burn fat.

I'm 17 years old, and I need to lose weight. I don't know where to start?

Okay, so like I said, I'm 17 and I need to lose weight. It's the summer, so I've been at home more which means that I'm eating more throughout the day. When I was younger, I was malnourished because I never ate. I started getting a little heavier (not much) when I was around 10, and I've just gained weight since then. I'm nowhere near morbidly obese, but I am overweight. I've been going out with friends more often, and we usually get fast food. I feel disgusted with myself lately for allowing myself to be so unhealthy. I need to lose around 25 pounds, and hopefully keep it off. I actually have an inground pool in my yard, and I've heard that swimming helps lose weight a lot. It's just that I have no motivation. I want to be skinny and have a healthy, active lifestyle but I just feel like I can't. My parents buy an equal amount of junk AND healthy food. They don't buy too much junk food, occasionally they'll buy some chips or cookies or something. We usually have more pretzels and granola bars than anything. They also buy Diet soda, but I rarely drink that. I usually drink Crystal Light iced tea or plain water. I want to be happy with my body and lose weight, not just to be happy, but I want to do it for my own good. I don't want to grow up and have to deal with all of that crap that comes along with being overweight. Any advice?

It is very simple to get to your desired body weight by limiting carbohydrates in your diet to 150 to no more than 200 per day. You will steadily lose body fat to a point. I would need to know your weight to tell you more but eating a lot fewer carbohydrates is a great place to start.

Is it possible for me to loose 40-50 pounds by February?

I weigh 188 and I already lost 7.2 pounds. I'm 14 turning 15 in February, and I want to get down to at least 140-130 pounds. Because, for my 15th birthday my motivation is to get my belly button pierced. I've been going to the gym 5 days a week, and I do dance.

Now that may be a realistic goal. Keep in mind your genetic code may not allow you to go that low. If we could choose our height, weight, strength, etc; I would have been a NBA player.80% of weight loss is diet. You can eat a healthy diet and lose weight. You can eat a healthy diet and exercise and lose more weight. You can exercise and eat a poor diet and not lose and even gain weight.A good healthy diet high in fiber, lean meats, eggs, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, antioxidant foods, healthy beverages and low in added sugar and salt help people lose weight, lower cholesterol, increase energy, improve brain function, lower blood pressure, reduce cancer risk and have a more positive lifestyle! You need to eat a lot more food and a lot more fiber!Diets that exclude foods from any food group are fad diets and do not lead to permanent weight loss or solve any other health issues.First, try to kick your fiber intake to 40 grams of both soluble and insoluble fiber. Whatever you do, get your fiber from your food, not from a jar.Fruits and vegetables have good fiber in them. A high fiber diet increases the metabolism.Try a breakfast cereal with at least 20% of recommended daily allowance of fiber in it. They are usually low in sugar so there is a double benefit. Blueberries or raspberries on top add more fiber and antioxidants. But fresh or frozen, not the kind in syrup. Oatmeal with berries or a bit of fresh honey is also good.Raw nuts are a great source of fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants. Avocados are the best.Lots of beans, peas, and grains are high fiber. Whole grain breads. Fiber kicks up the metabolism so you actually burn more calories. These foods will give you more gas in the beginning but if eaten daily, the bacteria in the digestive tract will elevate lowering the gas output. This will get you on the path for a healthy daily bowel movement. This helps clean the system and aids healthy digestion. A high fiber diet reduces transit time - the amount of time it takes food from when it is eaten to when it is expelled. This reduces toxicity in the system both from internally produced, ingested, and external toxins.I know it goes against everything you've heard or read but eating lots of the right foods will actually help you lose weight!Next, take an age appropriate basic daily multivitamin. Don't look at your multivitamin as nutrition but more as an insurance policy. Think of it as filling in the gaps in your daily diet as opposed to a primary source of nutrients. You have to drink lots of water to be healthy. But you can disguise it. Fill your glass all the way full with ice before pouring low sugar beverages. Try iced green tea with a splash of orange juice in it for sweet. More antioxidants. Add lemon juice to water for flavor. Slice up a cucumber and float it in pitcher of water. Gives it salty fresh taste. But you must drink up to 100 oz of water daily to help your body get rid of waste and the natural toxins.Last, you need to get 8-9 hours of quality sleep depending on your age. All recent sleep studies report a connection between poor sleep patterns and weight gain. This includes going to bed as close to the same time every night including weekends. Most of us stay up late Friday and Saturday night and it throws us off.You must combine a healthy diet with exercise to multiply the benefit. Whether an hour a day in the weight room or just a 30 minute brisk walk every day, the added benefit of a regular exercise program really do increase and accelerate healthy weight loss.I lost 30 pounds in 5 months by spending my money at the grocery and gym and have kept it off for over two years. Less than 3% of people that attempt weight loss lose it and keep it off for two years. It is not easy. It is a lifestyle change.Good luck and good health

  • 40-50? Yeah it's quite possible. You may have to have lifestyle changes and stick to them or else you will gain again. But from this date to February should be e bought time to lose around 40 pounds. If you are really dedicated to it of course.
  • Not, it is not.

How to Lose Weight Without Getting Saggy Skin

Recommended Answer:

It depends on how much you eat. You can always eat more than you burn regardless how much you run.It takes about 3500 calories to lose one pound and traveling one mile burns about 100 calories.Normally your body uses around 2000 calories to stay alive even without exercise, so you certainly could lose weight if you began to exercise, but your diet is what makes the big difference. How much you consume has to be less than what you burn to lose weight.Say you can run about 10 minutes per mile and you can actually run for 90 minutes then you are using around 900 calories and that is a lot.Limit your intake to less than 2000, and you could lose some weight, but how much is really up to you. Realistically if you eat healthy and limit yourself to less than 1500 calories per day you could lose 10 or more pounds in a month.

Other Answers:

  • Have you been running before?Have you done any amount of exercise for more than 3-4 weeks in the last 2-3 months? If no to both or either, please don't go for your plan, look thro' the links below for a better programme.Even if you have been running before, 90 minutes every day is not the best idea. 3-4 30-40 minute runs a week at different speeds and a long run at the weekend is safer and will do you more good. And you'll be less likely to injure yourself.
  • Dude....come on. You are not going to run for 90 minutes every day. Have you ran before? You can't go from 0 to 100 over night. Get a bit more realistic.

How to treat people who never gave you the light of day before you lost weight?

Most of the people in my high school go to my college, I went to school with them for 5 years, they never acknowledged my existence in high school or in college...except recently when I lost a lot weight. I was always nice to them, hoping they would be friendly back, but they weren''t, some of them even picked on me, which really scarred me.

They now say hello to me, and start conversation. I really dont want to be nice to them, it feels wrong to continue being nice to them. I have no idea how to treat them.

You will find fake people everywhere, unfortunately.
I understand what you''re saying with regard to not wanting to speak to old colleagues who were inconsiderate in the past. However, it will do you no good to hold onto bitterness and to be blatantly rude to them.
What you can do is ignore them especially in situations where you aren''t required to respond to them and generally just brush them off and show a lack of interest. If they stop to speak to you, say hi and give very vague responses and pull yourself out of their company as quick as you can by simply saying that you have to go or you''re busy. It''s hard to learn how to ignore especially when you''re a nice person and your immediate reaction is to be polite and friendly. Don''t make a big deal out of it, just focus on the positive people and don''t make time for those who bring negativity into your life.
Personally, I never add or talk to such persons on social networks either and I delete/block when I have to and I do not care what they think of me.

Congrats on the weight loss! No harm in feeling proud of your accomplishments (and the fact that people have noticed ;)). Keep it up! All the best.

  • Be nice to them, but don''t be friends. If your horrible to them your just as bad as they are! You''v seen them for what they really are and know your a better person. Walk away with a smile.

How To Lose Weight Fast and Safely

Losing fat is 80% what you eat, so focus on that. Change your lifestyle, don''t go on a diet. Eat less junk/fast/fried foods and stop drinking sugary soda pop. Focus on eating a variety of foods including fruits and vegetables, but also lean proteins (chicken, turkey, fish, lean beef, plain greek yogurt), healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, nuts, hummus), brown rice, oatmeal, milk, low fat cheese, whole wheat bread, etc.

You can still do squats, lunges, and other exercises for those areas of your body, but you won''t lose the fat until you start eating healthier. Look on YouTube - they have lots of free exercise videos. Do a search for Fitness Blender Lower Body and I think you''d like those. Good luck!

Is this a good cheat meal? Best answer 10 pts!?

Well its not really a meal, but every Friday night I usually stay home alone watching a movie and have a popcorn with 4 candy bars (snickers, 2 big receses cups, 2 poptarts, and one bag of gummy life savers) and a low sugar/carb monster. I''m pretty active (I''m in boxing and do p90x) plus I really push myself. my diet is very clean all week except for just that Friday night. My goal weight is to lose 10-15 lbs! Lost 10 so far! i do not eat anything that day so im not to worried about calorie intake. and by good i mean, can it pass as a cheat meal?

How to Lose Weight Really Fast in 3 Easy Steps

Keep doing exactly what you''re doing as long as you''re still losing weight. Because it''s working. Once the weight loss plateaus, clean up your act.

  • not really, sugar remains as fat, on the scale it''ll say you''ve lost weight, but way you look will be mushy. it''s not all about weight loss. it''s about muscle tone as well. fat remains fat, protein remains protein. remember this.
  • STOP!!! This is really stupid... Just eat healthy.

How To Lose Weight Fast and Safely

Recommended Answer:
this is why they recommend that you take your measurements & monitor things like your resting heart rate, blood pressue, & your fasting blood sugar & cholesterol levels. & not rely entirely on that number on the scale.

when I started exercising, I actually gained weight the first 4 weeks. If I had only been relying on the scale, I would have quit. but I had done those other things I mentioned above. I checked by blood pressure, resting heart rate, & measurements weekly & my fasting blood sugar & cholesterol levels every 12 weeks. In that first four weeks, I gained almost 10 pounds but I lost 2" off my arms, waist & thighs each & 4" off my hips. I went down almost 4 sizes, my blood pressure dropped from borderline high to normal & my resting heart rate dropped from 80 beats per minute to 60 beats per minute.

what happened was: I burned fat but I put on muscle (muscle is heavier & more compact than fat). that initial muscle was needed to increase my metablolism in order to help burn more fat. once my body put on enough muscle to help increase my metabolism, I started losing weight.

my recommendation:
you''ve only been doing this program for 3 days. commit to it for 12 weeks. no matter what the scale says you are going to continue this program for 12 weeks.

get an exercise journal ( this is one I like: http://www.amazon.com/BodyMinder-Workout-Exercise-Journal-Fitness/dp/0963796844) or do a search online for a template you like & make one of your own. set it up for 12 weeks

take the following measurements:
weight, neck, chest, upper arm, waist, hips, thighs, calves, blood pressure (if you don''t have a monitor then go to your local pharmacy--there will either be a machine that takes your blood pressure or the pharmacist will do it for free or a small fee), your resting heart rate (count the number of beats in 6 seconds & multiply by 10. a normal range is 60 to 90 beats per min w/ the lower end being ideal). optional: you can have your sugar & cholesterol checked (again check w/ your local pharmacy. many will do these readings for a low fee. some do them all the time, some only do them once a month.)

the measurements you can do at home you will check weekly. the measurements you need help with, you''ll check monthly. blood sugar & cholesterol you can check every 3 or 4 months but really only need to check once or twice a year. (this means no weighing yourself between official weigh ins. the weight fluctuations you''ll experience throughout the week will just make you crazy.)

the idea here is if you can see you are making progress in other areas then you''re less likely to get frustrated because the scale doesn''t say what you think it should say

Make it Fun to Lose Weight Naturally and Healthily!

If you are looking to gain weight, you will need to eat a high calorie diet that surpass your puberty demands, your high metabolism rate as well as your activity level. Also, you will need to do the right workout and sleep well to get the gains you need. However, all of it starts with your foundation and that is diet.

I would suggest eating a high calorie diet instead of one filled with fat is because your body only requires a certain amount of fat which you can possibly get from the excess calories from your carbohydrate. I also do not suggest so much protein as a fuel source as it leaves behind nitrates which can be put your kidneys and liver under unnecessary stress. I would suggest eating things like potatoes, biscuits, pasta, noodles, rice and bread in order to get the high calorie diet from carbohydrates. If fixing 6 meals up can be a problem due to the lack of time or if you are looking for something more convenient, I would suggest looking to drink 500ml of milk in between your meal for a total of 3 times a day. Increase the amount of milk you drink by 100ml for each serving every week if you realize that you do not gain weight after a week of effort.

The next thing to get right is definitely sleep even before exercise. This is because even if you have the best workout and you get improper rest or insufficient amount of it, chances are this will cause you to lose weight and fall sick. One particular fact most people do not get right is definitely quality. Quality sleep means you need to sleep and wake up all by yourself. This can be difficult but I will still encourage you to do it on the weekend if possible and sleep the scheduled amount of hours on the weekdays when you are busy.

The workout is the main trigger to help you gain weight. This is done by using the workout at http://gohforth.com which I have seen many of my clients used and see effective results. The result of gaining 1 pound every week is quite possible as this workout will help you to trigger major muscles and help with progressive weight gain with little to no down time.

  • easy... just search in the internet
