How to Break a Weight Loss Plateau

Recommended Answer:

You should loose weight no faster than you gained it in the first place. Eat less and exercise more. You want to lose fat, not muscle.

Other Answers:

  • Eat better/portion control/regular exercisethat is really it. but you have to dedicate yourself..
  • Dont "eat less", Eat the right foods. Switch to a vegan diet and find a good exercise plan. For an exercise plan check out : http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/find-a-plan-fat-loss-2039-female.htmlDieting Advice check out: http://vegweb.com/

How to Help Your Family Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

Ever heard the term abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym? This is the ultimate truth. There is no such thing as spot weight loss (aka loosing weight in just one area). Abs are 80% diet and 20% gym. At the gym you will want to do exercises that engage either your lower abs or obliques. By doing these you will also be doing work with your upper abs, but if you do exercises just for upper abs (crunches) you wont work obliques or lower. These are leg lifts, bicycle crunches etc. And you also have to include cardio (running intervals, jump rope etc).As far as diet is concerned you need to eat clean. Which means good carbs, good fats and protein. Fish, almond oil, olive oil, greek yogurt, turkey, chicken, lean red meat, almonds, brown rice etc. The higher sugar and saturated fats you eat the harder it will be to lose. Hope this helps!

Other Answers:

  • Fish oil pills they boost your matbolism. Try crunches.
  • look this is the most important thing to know. you can get a flat stomach, but you can NOT get it fast!!! It takes a long time to get it flat, and the stomach is one of the hardest places. It is important to know that doing sit ups and crunches a couple times a day will NOT help you. In order to loose it you need to work out your entire body at least a little bit because your body needs to get 'warmed up'. It kind of goes in a mode where it will burn fat, but you need to get it in that mode by doing something like jogging for 10-15 min or doing a cardio workout. Nothing ridiculous though. Then you can start doing ab exorcizes and stuff. Here is a video of a good ab workout that you should do after warming up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zz9QWdBH2AAlso, be sure to drink a protein shake or protein bar 30 min after exorcizing! Just remember it says 6-weeks cause that is the minimum it will take. But stick to it and you will see results! No slacking!as for diet, just avoid fast food. Thats all I do really. Good luck!
  • OK listen to Jennifer she knows what shes talking about. Dont listen to all the idiots who are taking about doing ab workouts to burn stomach fat, it does not work. The science of the human body tell us that fat burning happens all over the body. You can not just remove it from the stomach and defiantly not through doing sit ups, crunches or any other type of ab training.Do some cardio and weight training to "tone up" . The most important and the hardest is your diet, eat clean (low sugar and bad fats). Just eat slow digesting carbs and healthy fats and a good amount of protein.

Holiday Weight Loss Tips - How to Lose Weight During the Holiday Season

Recommended Answer:
The key to weight loss is simple: burn more calories then you take in. That doesn''t mean you have to give up delicious food, it just means you have to work out more. A good way to do this is to drink more water (it flushes out all the toxins in your body) and walk around more.

Is it normal to be up a few pounds on your period?

Weight Loss - Are You Fighting With Yourself to Lose Weight?

Recommended Answer:
Walking is going to reduce thighs very much. Better to go biking, hiking, jogging, play tennis, badminton, baseball. A non-fat diet helps, too. A good plan would be:

Breakfast: low fat milk on cooked 9-grain cereal (from health food store), mixed with cooked oatmeal and wheat bran. Add some nuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine.

Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts and yogurt w/fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham or beef stew.

Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit: banana, orange, apple, kiwi, grapes, peach, nectarine, cherries, pineapple. No chips and nothing ever from a vending machine.

Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it.

Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.

Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes.

Foods to avoid: junk food, pastries, desserts, sugar, salty foods, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fatty/greasy foods (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza), pasta, potatoes, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream, fast food, soda, chips. And of course no tobacco or alcohol in any form. Both of those add wrinkles and destroy your brain. No oil except olive and mac nut. Coffee also rots your brain.

To keep your skin clear, drink water. Veg. juice is good too. But not canned juice (too much sugar.)

Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment.

If you lack energy to exercise, take stress B vitamins.
To lose weight, try an appetite suppressant

  • The most important exercise you can do for a toned body is the Frequent Fork Drop, but you may already be doing that.
  • If you have enough will power become a vegan. If you don''t, just cut out fat foods and snacks. Also for walking, run instead at like 10-15 mph somewhere in that range but pace yourself and I''d run about a couple miles a day with breaks in between every couple of minutes (like every 5-7 minutes)
  • There is no such thing as spot reducing. To lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume, period. You will lose weight everywhere.

You can tone these muscles by doing exercises that concentrate on these areas.
  • Walk 4mph, which translates into a fast walk.

Healthy Ways To Lose Weight - The Easiest Ways To Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Here is what I would suggest:

1. Vary your caloric intake each day. For example, have 1500 one day, 1200 the next, 1700 the next, and so on. That way your body doesn''t adjust to the calorie level.

2. Vary the foods you eat. Eat a great variety of healthy food.

3. Vary your exercise routines. Don''t work out at the same time everyday. Sometimes work out in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes twice a day, and sometimes skip a day.

4. Vary the types of exercise you do. Don''t do the same things everyday.

5. Include strength training/weight lifting as part of your exercise plan, but again don''t do the same things everyday,

6. Incorporate as many types of aerobic exercise as you can. Each day vary the time, the intensity, and the type of exercise as much as possible.

7. Eliminate ALL junk food, sodas, pop, sweets, fried foods, fast foods, fruit juices, and processed foods. Everyday eat a healthy diet of fruit, veggies, a few nuts, lean meat and fish, whole grain breads and cereals, low fat dairy products.

8. Consider sort of shocking your system by doing a one day or even a two day liquid diet. Keep it healthy. You can use some of those meal replacement shakes or drinks - Glucerna, Boost, Ensure, the Special K shakes, etc. Drink plenty of water and you can also include sugar free jello.

Is eating chocolate 2 times a month a good moderation?

Ex:
I last had about four squares of designer chocolate on my birthday being the 25th.
And today I had two pieces from a Godiva block: 100 cal.

I don''t plan on eating more chocolate until Valentine''s day, and then MAYBE the 31st again ( last day of the month indulgence plan apparently, haha )
It can''t hurt if my diet is typically healthy right?

Besides, all I had today was a few bowls of Kashi go lean cereal, a green apple, and a cup of coffee then those two squares of chocolate.

Best Weight Loss Diet - Why Eating Healthy is a Far More Effective Way to Lose Weight Than Fad Diets

Recommended Answer:
I hate to sound in any way judgemental about your diet here, but eating less doesn''t necessarily mean you''re eating healthy. If anything, it sounds to me like you''re really not eating enough, and if you''re genuinely planning out the dates you''ll allow yourself to indulge in certain eating habits, it sounds a little bit like you may have a slightly over-controlling attitude towards food... all I''m saying is keep an eye on that, because it sounds like you''re possibly a little bit obsessive about it, and that can easily lead to an eating disorder if you''re not careful.

If you really want to eat healthily, which will definitely help you lose and maintain a healthy weight, do some research on the food groups and how much fruit/veg/protein/carbs you should be getting per day. I have chocolate about once a week but I don''t see that as over indulgence, and some weeks I may even have small amounts almost every day. But I don''t worry about it, because diet is about nutrients not skinny vs fat.

Just take care of your body and it will take care of you. The rest is just details. :)

  • you can eat choclate anytime you want.
  • You can have chocolate every damn day but get the darkest, lowest-sugar chocolate you can find. It''s great with butter smeared on it. No in not joking. It''s the low-carbers snack.
  • Girl,i eat 3000-5000 calories everyday,i eat chocolate and chips daily and im not fat.
There are a lot of factors that can affect your metabolism:
1)Your physical activity (how many calories you burn)
2)Your genes:some people get fat a lot harder than others just by their genes
    3)Stress and psychologic state
And you seriously need to add proteins to your diet, not just foods high in fiber and carbs.
Add a bit of chicken breast,or some tuna!
    If you''re vegetarian,add beans!
  • Yes! That''s totally fine. If you want to eat it alot, go dark chocolate. It''s healthier.
  • that is very healthy, good will-power!!
remember that not eating much isnt a healthy diet, a healthy diet contains lots of different foods, dont be scared of eating!
a few chocolate bars will not make you fat

What kind of diet am I following?

So, I recently started a diet suggested to me by my doctor, but she didn't really give me much detail about what the purpose is and how it works (scientifically speaking). My doctor was very ambiguous about it and assumed I just knew what I was supposed to do. What I would like to know is what I can eat, what I shouldn't eat, etc. Is this a gluten free diet? I'm limited by a budget, I am overweight and this is the first time I actually follow a strict diet. Any other suggestion are more than welcome as long as they're healthy and justified. Basically the diet consists of the following rules:
-Don't eat bread, pasta, rice or sugar
-Don't drink regular or diet soda.
-Don't eat fried foods
-Only eat fruits in the morning.
-Last meal should be no later than 6pm
-Drink ~half a gallon of water a day.

Quickest Way to Lose Weight - How Lose Weight Quickly

Recommanded Answer:
This is a simple, ordinary, healthy no-name diet. Seriously. It's how most people should eat depending on genetics and geographical location. An Eskimo couldn't be healthy eating the diet of someone who lives in a tropical area.

The only exception you might make to the general guide you were given is sprouted whole grains which digest differently than non sprouted and is ok for some who have minor gluten sensitivity. If you're supposed to be on a gluten free diet, you can check out recipes and suggestions at www.celiac.org For gluten free, try buckwheat! Awesomely yummy AND healthy! Especially buckwheat pancakes.

I would also suggest reading labels to avoid anything with the word "hydrogenated" since those are trans fats and are included an ingredient in all kinds of food products.

  • Water and bodybuilding go hand in hand. Drinking plenty of water is absolutely essential when following a bodybuilding method. This is because when exercising, they not only sweat a lot, but the muscles lose some of their water as well. You need to drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated. Since the body is about 80% water, it can become stressed quickly if the water level is not replenished. You can live without food, but you cannot live without water. In order for all the body processes to happen, water is the key ingredient for breaking down protein in to amino acids and enabling your body to make use of the nutrients from the food.
