If I'm trying to lose weight during Ramadan, should I wake up for suhoor? :)?

It's Ramadan and I'm trying to lose weight, I'm wondering should I stop waking up in the morning to eat? Would that help me lose weight? I noticed that before I eat my meal, I'll be say 122 pounds, and then after my meal, I'm 124 pounds. Then I sleep and naturally in the morning I should go back down to 122. However, by eating at suhoor, it might make me wake up as more than 122. Would it help if I didn't wake up or would it make no difference? I enjoy waking up to eat, but I'm willing to stop if it's just causing me to gain weight. Thanks! :)

You should eat suhoor for the blessings it gives, but it can also help you lose weight. By only eating once every day (Iftaar), you put your body into shock, triggering survival mode which will make your body convert any spare calories into fat. This is automatic because your body is preparing for starvation (famine) by putting away as much energy (in the form of fat) for later. Even if you wanted to lose a few pounds in Ramadan, this would probably be stopping you from doing so.Eating in the morning, even if it is only dates (or any other fruit) and water, will help to negate this shock, and will also give you more strength during the day, allowing your body to burn more calories, thus helping you to keep the weight off (and hopefully allow you to shed a few pounds). In addition, it will provide you with more nutrients, which will help to counter malnutrition. Common misconception is that malnutrition is rare in Western society, but you will find this is not true. It is one of the main reasons that a lot of Western girls are weak and frail (in comparison to other women around the world).Based on the little information you gave, I doubt that eating suhoor will cause you to gain weight. If anything, it will be more beneficial as it should give you more energy and allow you to maintain your health. Most important of all, there is great blessing in eating suhoor, as it is a Sunnah and was greatly encouraged by the prophet (SAW).
