So I''m seriously sick of being as fat as I am, I''m a roughly 260-270lb guy 6ft 18yo. I''ve recently gone vegan(2 months or so) in an attempt to lose weight and it''s going fine with only occasional relapses that are diminishing in frequency. I often find myself eating a bit more food however. Fruits don''t really fill me up and I can''t always get a good veggie/rice meal. I''ve just very recently in the last week started going to the gym but since im pretty fat I can''t reasonably do a treadmill so I''ve been doing mostly an elliptical for 30min to an hour and 30 on a bike if I skimped on the elliptical.
My main questions are how can I improve. I have a meal plan so I eat all meals through the college cafeteria so my variety is somewhat limited and I often find myself eating a bit more often. How can I fill myself a bit better I.e what kind of foods should I go for or stray from. Also I''ve heard both good and bad regarding ellipticals and their effectiveness. So what can I do around the gym to help me. I''ve been told light weights can be great but I''ve no idea what to do. Could someone give me a general workout guide/plan for a guy my size. And really just any tips in general I don''t have much idea of what I''m doing or how to go about it. I just got tired of my size and jumped into it and I''m not sure how to proceed.

im a girl but if ur sweious and want to loose it fast no rice no bread .....1 can. tuna with light mayo .with some tomato is like 150 calories an is filling.... ur meal plan is very limiting not knowing what they serve ......jusr know skip bread if they have veggie burgers or turkey burgers skip the bun an ketchup use dijon or spicy brown with letguce an tomato , skip rices an " stirfrys with heavy sauces" basically if all u can eat is on ur meal plan ur stuck ....without knowing what they serve its hard to.tell u but ur gona have to count calories an burn off more than u eat everyday if u want weight off fast eat a big salad but use light cesar dressing or buy ur own low cal an bri.g it with u , of course skip pizza etc also vegans real restricting but seriously rice will keep u heavy ..id stop eating rice mayb add tofu or eat something else to fill u lije veggie burger
elliptical is pretty good just depends how fast u go how long also elliptical always over estimates calories burned u burn 700 its.more like 550 but at ur weight u burn more calories so i wouldn''t worry about that , but id suk it up go on the treadmill mayb a slow speed but at a high incline for 45 minutes then elliptical for 30 minutes an 15/20 weight training ....
and buy a pedomater on days u dont hit the gym ...WALK aim to burn 350/400 calories ..
