Yes you can lose 40 pounds 4 months but you have to be really strict about everything you are eating. So no sugary junk items or calories that aren''t going in for a specific purpose. I lost 40 pounds from july to november last year just by making sure I was doing some form of exercise every day- even if it was just going for a walk and by eating correctly and at the right times of day.
You don''t want to lose 40 pounds any faster then before may as you will just be losing muscle instead of fat which will lower your bone density if you continue it over a long period of time. So just keep doing what you are doing. The main thing to remember is that this isn''t just an activity till may you need to continue eating right and exercising for the rest of your life.

Then I had a tragedy gained 76 pounds and this year I have worked in losing it. I started trying to lose weigh in October, by eating right, running, weights, and some crunches. - Nope you wont lose that much by May. You can lose that possibly in a year or two. My fiance lost over 40lbs in 6 years. The same one you said had fat arms.. But anyways its possible to lose maybe 15lbs by then but all that depends on what your eating and what not. Also weight fluctuates 3-5lbs a day. Also losing weight fast is not good. Youll end up gaining it back and then some... Just sayin.

I hope gain that 10 lbs back, - if you don''t eat stuff with fat in it ,like butter and cheese look at the label calories from fat should be low or your wasting your time if you eat or drink stuff with high fat content . if i was your Trainer you could lose 40 lbs by the end of may and look and feel great also.
