It's too much. Too much cardio is bad for you. It just burns off your muscle tissue. The key to losing weight is cutting calories. Start with 1500 cals a day, track your cals on fitday.com Do cardio 3 days a week and pump iron three days a week. The easiest program to follow is the Body for Life Program by Bill Phillips. He recommends 20 minutes of cardio x a week but 30 is okay once a day. If the lifting is too much just cut it down to what you can comfortable handle. Figure on losing 1-2 lbs a week, that's doing good, if you lose more, you're just burning off muscle which you don't want to do.
- No, that isn't too much. You do need to rest at least one day per week though.
Its hard to answer this: How hard are you pushing? Whats your weight/height? Machines usually have a number of calories burnt on display to give you a rough idea. - i would say if you feel like your nights rest is reviving you than no. if you are feeling like you have less stamina in general, than maybe. if you are over 250lbs i would say you should take it slow though. i have the opinion that it is very stressful on the body for people around 300lbs to be doing very much all at once. think of it as a bell curve graph, in other words, the more weight you loose, the more exercise you should be able to do safely. at first though, the circulatory system really strains. but no, if you are at a lower weight, i would not worry.
- Prob not, unless youre pushing yourself super hard!
Its hard to tell how fast youll lose weight without knowing your stats, calorie intake and approx number of calories burned through exercise - No that is fine to do. You just have to make sure that you also consume enough food with carbs so you can have energy for when you work out. Proteins are also good to have, but i usually do that after my workouts. AND HYDRATE :D
