Why am I continuously losing weight when I don't mean to? What is going on with my body?

Hello everyone. I'm little upset & stressed over my recent weight loss. I am a 20 year old, 5'6 female who has always been slim, I can never break the 100 mark on the scale & my weight has always been at 97-99 lbs. I'm am naturally thin (high metabolism) overall & I do eat. However, over the last year, I have noticed that my weight has dropped immensely, even worse this past summer. Spring break of 2012, my weight dropped from 96 to 92 & when I went to get a updated for my shots for college, I was at 93.8 lbs. I have been stressing quite some time now (before the weight loss) due to some personal issues & the environment that I am in at the moment is not the best either. I am back home this semester due to financial reasons but I didn't want to come back because of what I mentioned above, its not the best environment. Before all of this, I did have a huge appetite for food & loved to eat, now I probably eat only 1 or 2 meals a day (its not really eating) before I get full & stop. That is unusual for me. Even now, my stomach growls and I have just eaten. I've never suffered from an eating disorder so I have no idea whats going on. My clothes do not even fit the way they used to & in my opinion. I look horrible. I'm trying to take some time off because I'm burnt out & exhausted emotionally, physically & mentally.*I was on the Depo provera shot for 2 years but did not gain any weight on it & it did NOT change my eating habits. If I go to the doctor, can he/she give me something to help with the weight loss? Can they help with whats going on?I would like real, real legitimate answers so please no rude or silly comments.ThanksIn 2011, I became really sick. I was constantly bleeding, vomiting body fluid (water), not eating, among other issues. However, I was never fully diagnosed with anything major. My doctor (in another state) said I exhibited the symptoms of Lupus but I didn't have the diseases necessarily. Even then, my weight went from 103? lbs to 94 in 2/3 weeks. Since then, I've been keeping a close tab on how I feel & trying not to push myself into overdrive. I haven't gained that weight back at all. Thanks to all who responds!

How to Lose Weight and Kick Start Your Metabolism

Recommended Answer:

Stress burns fat.Once I was so stressed I started losing 5lbs. a week. Somehow stress burns up more calories then playing football.I suggest you start eating hard rolls with margarine & milk shakes to help maintain your weight. Also get your thyroid checked, a sickly thyroid can cause weight loss.P.S. you might want to repost this question in the Health category.

  • This can be the results od you being stressed out and or it could be a disorder. I can gibe you advixe but am not a specilized doctor. I suggest you pushing your self to eat more and drinking more water and making an appointment with a doctor that specilizes in eating diaorders related to either stress or conditions. Good luck and may god be with you..
  • Yes, see your doctor. Tell your history and current weight issues! Your BMI puts you at the "underweight" level, so you NEED to gain weight. If there is an underlying medical cause of your low weight, the doctor can run tests to find it. If not, he or she may refer you to a dietician for help. Best of luck to you.

what are the chances i will lose weight?

i'm sixteen and i'm overweight. do teenagers usually lose weight once they move out of their parents place?@Dgafyou don't have to be an ass.plus, can you not read? i cannot purchase a treadmill because i'm sixteen. does your brain have full functionality, or can you not use deductive reasoning? i asked a simple question, that is even a simple "yes" or "no" question, and you are even struggling to answer this question with a valid thesis. plus, it seems you have absolutely no empathy for another human being. i actually was only having a moment of insecurity, but you certainly cleared that up, moron. actually, you should be a best answer due to how great i feel right now.

How to Workout to Lose Weight

I'm done with my weight loss journey and completely happy with how I feel and how I look right now however losing weight is a challenge for anyone and even losing 5 pounds and keeping it off isn't an easy task. Also I bet you didn't know that 5 pounds of fat is about the size of 8 cheese burgers? That alone should be enough to make anyone want to get on the ball and start a change for the better. Weight loss can be really easy to learn but the problem is nobody wants to put the required effort that is needed to actually do it, instead people continually look for (easy) ways to do it. If there was an easy way to lose weight I don't think 35% of Americans would be obese. There was a time when I also wanted to lose weight and was tired of starting diets only to lose motivation and give up just a few weeks later after seeing no results. However, let me tell you it is literally one of the easiest things you will ever learn once you find a good and reputable place to learn it from and I say that only because the world is filled with magic diet pills, liquid flush diets and a thousand other quick fixes that promise xx pounds of weight loss in the first week and even though it is impossible they know you're going to do it because your desperate. I have probably tried every diet pill, liquid flush diet, and ab rocket machine known to man and have had no success with any of them nor do I know anyone that has ever had any success with them. I have also tried starving myself which works very well for the first few weeks' right before your metabolism comes to a complete stop and eating just the tiny bit makes you gain weight and you end up weighing more than you did before you started starving yourself. Companies promote weight loss to make money not to get people healthy again and that's because they know you're not going to be a customer and buy their products if you're no longer fat.http://fatlossfacctor.info is a site I want you to go to when you have 10 or 20 minutes to spare and I want you to sit down and watch his video on weight loss. He helps people every day to lose weight I have never seen someone as committed as him and that will go so far out of his way to help someone. His weight loss program is one of the best I have ever had the enjoyment of doing and it is without doubt the best success I have ever had with any weight loss program. I also couldn't be happier with my body right now and I have never felt this wonderful in my whole life. In the end you just got to remember to stick with it and stay confident in yourself and in no time you can achieve the results you have always wanted. It's not hard to lose weight but most people have a hard time staying motivated and 9 times out of 10 it was because they weren't really committed from the beginning. Anyways I hope I helped you and I hope you make the commitment to change your body and life. Remember it's not easy to take the first step but you did, you're here right now taking it and the rest of the steps will fall into place. Have a wonderful day.

  • you think people lose weight just from moving outi can tell by your question how unmotivated and lazy and how unwilling you are to fix your obesity problem. get on a treadmill, stop eating like a pig and actually DO something to lose weight
  • From stress or loneliness, yes. Otherwise there will be no difference. The best option you can consider is doing exercise and cutting off sugar and fatty food.

How much weight would she lose by doing this?

My mom is trying to lose weight and she's not going to have any snacks or sweet foods or anything between meals. Since she gets up early for work (Around 6 AM) , she won't be eating for another 6-7 hours because her lunch break is 12:30.I'm just a little worried because I don't think it's healthy. It's good for her to try and lose weight but 6-7 hours is a while without eating. I was thinking maybe she could bring a healthy snack like a banana, but she said she doesn't want to do that. Before this whole diet, she ate 3 or 4 cookies between breakfast and lunch, and another 3 or 4 cookies between lunch and dinner. Sometimes she would eat a little more like a poppy seed roll between breakfast and lunch along with the cookies. And also everyday she had a snack after dinner. If she cuts out all of those breads and snacks between meals, how much weight would she lose? She's small (5 feet, 3 inches) . Also, she doesn't exercise much because where she works, she just sits at a desk all day. So the only difference would be cutting out snacks between meals AND added things like ketchup, mayo, sauces, dressing, etc..Also, is this healthy? If not, how can I convince her to bring a small snack to work to hold her over? I don't want her going into starvation mode! :(Thanks!

How to Lose Weight & Keep a Healthy Looking Face

Recommended Answer:

No I don't think that's good. I'm not like an expert dietician or anything but I know you're supposed to have 5 small meals a day. The occasional treat isn't bad if it's in moderation, but cutting sweets out all together I think is fine.

Other Answers:

  • Its a start, but she has to realize you have to keep you metabolism going, keep eating healthy snacks like a fruit or nuts and you wont need to eat as much dinner. It sounds like she has a sugar craving too, tell her to cut out all sugar for a while, her body will eventually adjust to that and she wont even want to look at those cookies anymore. She can still have(homemade) salad dressings, mustard, hot sauces and spices so the food will not be tasteless. Look up the documentary Hungry for a Change to try to convince her. It shouldn't be a diet, it should be a overall lifestyle change.

How do you classify as anorexic?

How many meals do you have to miss to be considered anorexic? I heard if you miss meals, drink a lot of liquids and exercise a lot it won't be as harmful for the body. Is this true? And if your 5.0" how much do you need to weigh to be consider anorexic?

How to Eat Carbs and Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

Google "bmi calculator". Enter your height and weight and it will tell you your bmi. A bmi under 18 is underweight. Being underweight, having irregular or stopped periods, and hair loss are all physical signs of anorexia, but the anorexia itself is a mental condition that is often connected to depression, anxiety, and extreme perfectionism. Not all anorexics are underweight. If you think you might be anorexic, please please please talk to your doctor before it gets out of control. Therapy can be incredibly helpful too.

Other Answers:

  • Anorexia isn't classified by a certain weight or meal structure. It is a mental illness.
  • Anorexia doesn't have to do with weight. Most girls who are anorexic though are underweight (bmi is under 18). It's about self conciseness about the way you look and on how you need to be skinnier. It's about not eating or eating very little amounts of food, (often 500 calories or under). It's starvation and not good. It can last for weeks, months years even decades.Don't let anorexia enter your life
  • Eating comes prior to exercising. No amount of liquids can replace food. Exercise cannot take place without food and if you try it, you will be considered anorexic. It can harm the body, and there is no point in missing meals as food is generally good for you. Missing meals is a serious issue.

How can I become lactose intolerant?

I'd like to lose some weight, but I really like ice cream. If I can become lactose intolerant though I'll just blast out any ice cream that I eat so I don't gain weight from it. I want to eat ice cream and blow more ass than a Tijuana stripper at a donkey show. How do you become lactose intolerant?

is it possible to just have abs naturally?

I used to be very skinny. and now im gaining weight. Ive been eating a lot of spicy foreign food, cake, meat, spinach, milk(a lot), candy, and hot dogs for like 2 weeks. I dont do any exercise except a few pushups(like 50) a day. and i recently looked at a mirror and i have abs? kind of confused. Im also going through puberty if it helps. Does it have to do with my body type because i think im mesomorph.

How to Lose Weight With Pilates

Recommended Answer:

Yes very possible. You probably have good ab genetics that even if you eat a lot, your bodyfat on your stomach is so little compared to everywhere else that your abs show. Regardless of what bodytype you are, you may be lucky enough to have stomach genetics that mean little fat stored on your stomach, therefore, abs.

Other Answers:

  • Yes, everyone has abs. It is just a matter of if you can see them. In your case i think its just you muscles growing with puberty and you have good matabilism if you eat that and not get fat
  • It is impossible to not have abs naturally.
  • yeah that's normal I have had abs since I was 6 naturally but I use to do sit ups from a young boy.

Is the sugar in fruit healthier than the sugar in other foods?

I know fruit sugar is 'natural' but I know sugar has a thing for making you 'fat'. Is it only the sugar in foods such as chocolate, crisps, cake, ice cream, etc.. that can make you fat and gain weight or can fruit have the same affect? I am just confused and I barely eat foods such as ice cream and crisps but I want to start eating fruit more often, e.g. apples, strawberries and bananas :) thank you x x x

How to Effectively Lose Weight Through Lap Band Surgery

Recommended Answer:

Yes because it's not processed sugar like other foods and you do need sugar to survive so the sugar in food is the sugar that your body is meant to have

Other Answers:

  • Fruit won't make you fat
  • the sugars in fruit can only be processed by the liver, and once its full it get stored as fat
  • Hi ChloeFruit provides you with calories, primarily in the form of sugars/carbs. They are much better for you because besides these sugars they have loads of nutrients that your body needs, potassium, fiver, iron , vit c etc... junk foods like cake, ice cream and crisps are what are known as 'empty calories' and that is because they hold no nutritional value. You need calories because they are the fuel for your body to work normally, and for you to do all you do each day, but it is much better that you get them from healthy sources for the nutritional value, as opposed to through junk foods. The sugars are also different in those types of foods as they are processed sugars and are not broken down and used in the same way as the natural sugars in fruits.Stick with fruits and avoid empty calorie foods and you will be healthier and also FEEL much better.

Is losing weight fast bad? (I need to explain some important details)?

Over the summer I haven't been doing anything at all because my mom goes to work and all i did was watch tv sitting down all down doing nothing. I did insanity for only two weeks and have up because it was too tough for me and I'm only 13 years old. Anyway I am starting high school this school year in August so I have been running since yesterday and I believe I am a great runner I always have been and I was in the track team last year. So I actually lost a lot of weight in 7th grade (and I became close to being an anorexic because you see I am 5'1 and I don't have a small frame like you would think I have a hourglass figure that I loved when I was a good weight between 110 lbs and 115 lbs.) I lost all that muscle and started becoming anorexic because I wanted to be even skinner because I still thought I was fat because this girl in my class made a rude comment to me about my weight loss so I started staring myself. I saw what I was doing because my friends and family started worrying about me and I felt bad so I gained 15 pounds back. Then this 8th grade year I felt jealous that I saw girls eating unhealthy food from our vending machines at school and I started eating them but then after a week I felt sick of them because I was just so used to eating healthy foods like I usually did for example salads, fruits, and vegetables too. Then I stopped completely exercising. And I gained all my weight back. I lost a total of 20 lbs when I was at my perfect weight 110 lbs and I lost 35 lbs when I was heading toward the anorexic side. I weighed 130 lbs right now but I a lost 3.5 lbs one day from exercising I jog 3 miles on incline 10 and I do a lot of sit ups, push up jacks, heisman, and jump rope for 10 minutes. I have 4 small meals a day and I burn maybe all of the calories I consume. Is that dangerous that I am losing a lot of weight maybe too fast but then again I feel like I am still eating healthy and exercising like should? Please help 10 points best answer thank u!:)Thank you haylee and Katrina Smith for your answers as well they still helped me a lot :)

How to Help Your Family Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

It's good that you are concerned about your health enough to ask if you're losing weight too fast. the most important thing, i'm sure you know, is not only to be at a "healthy weight," but to be at a stable weight. that means it shouldn't move up or down too much--it can put a strain on your heart to yo-yo a lot. the best way to lose weight is to do what you're doing, but MODERATELY. you sound very eager to get active, which is good, but if you do too much too soon, you'll get tired of it and quit. maybe if you break it up a bit, like running/jogging 3 days a week, then doing jump rope and muscle-building exercises on 2-3 other days? make sure you have a rest day, too, so your muscles can rebuild and get stronger. eating 4 small meals sounds okay, as long as you're making sure half your plate is fruits and veggies, one quarter protein (like meat, fish or eggs), one quarter starch (like bread or corn). the 3.5 lbs you lost that one day was from water weight--you can lose or gain up to 10lbs of water weight every day, so that's why people say you shouldn't check your weight every day. it could be discouraging if you see your weight go back up a few pounds when you know you've been exercising a lot and eating well. try checking your weight weekly at the most, at the same time wearing about the same amount of clothing. you'll get a better reading. i hope that helps! you're on the right track--keep loving yourself, and wanting yourself to be healthy and happy above any other goal you have in mind. good luck and God bless!

Other Answers:

  • This is unhealthy. I was just like you. I am 16 now and if I could go back and changeMy decisions I would. If you have an iPod or iPad use it to get MyFitnessPal and that helps you lose weight. You don't need to be losing ANYMORE than 2 lbs a week at the most. It's unhealthy and can cause permanent damage. I'm positive that you're beautiful. I know what it's like to feel fat or ugly because of bitches at school. Have faith baby and keep your head up high.
  • Don't worry about losing weight that much! I am only 16, but hear me out, I've done my research!(: okay so your weight may seem a little high for being only 5'1, but you probably have a ton of muscle from all your working out--whether you notice it or not. But what really matters is what you think. If you look in the mirror and feel that you truly weigh too much, then you can lose weight. But honestly, if you lose it fast, you arent even losing fat. It's all water weight and muscle! And that won't make you look any better! But you are good at running so you have an advantage! You could run everyday, maybe not even 3 miles every day. Then you could aim for eating 1200-1400 calories a day. But if you lose weight, LOSE IT IN A HEALTHY WAY!Remember that you don't have to change! Your weight is still healthy, and you said it your self that your frame is a bit larger. And the one thing about high school is that the kids are a lot more mature! I thought it would be the opposite, but it's not! They don't care, and if someone cares about how you look, everyone doesn't like that person anyways. I'm sure that you are GORGEOUS. And don't forget that. Keep your chin up and hang in there! Good luck in high school beautiful!(:

Can someone please just tell me things to do to lose weight? I am sick of googling?

So first lets get straight I have never exercised willingly in my life, I am 17 and 129/120 pounds and 5'8I gained 10 pounds, leaving my hips with a massive band of fat, making my waist wider and my thighs largerMy stomach bulges out - now I have STOMACH FATI cannot exercise too intensely - today I started exercising and I could only manage 5 measly minutes on the cross trainer at intensity level 5/6 What other things can I do? I tried jumping rope and could only do 3 minutes MAX straight at a fast - medium pace But I can do many lunges and squats - way better than cardioSo now you know what I can do, can you please tell me things to do and how many sets of reps and whether to do it every morning and/or night etc and for how long to do things etc (like now you know my maxiumum for cross trainer is 5 minutes straight, maybe I can do that every morning and night? IDK)thanks a lot to whoever will answer this I really really really really appreciate it!

How to Suggest That Your Girlfriend Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

First off, jumping rope is HARDCORE cardio. That stuff is intense, believe it or not.Cardio can be as simple as getting on an elliptical or arc trainer and keeping you heat rate around 130 bpm for 15 minutes.Try this1. Consume between 1500-2500 calories a day. Trying to stick to fish, almonds, walnuts, and lean proteins in general, plenty of raw fruits and vegetables, and complex multigrain carbohydrates.2. Do NOT starve yourself, do NOT binge eat. Plan your meals and snacks out throughout the day so you never get too hungry.3. Be as active as you can; nothing to do for 10 minutes? Knock out 10 push-ups.4. Eat some spicy foods, and drink between a half-gallon and a whole gallon of WATER a day. Avoid anything deep-fried, white bread, sprinkles, and any refined sugar.5. No more soda. Ever.6. If you do drink coffee, drink it black.7. Do at least 35 minutes of cardio straight at least once a day, at least three times a week, more if you are not trying to put on muscle.8. Do a large amount of full body exercises whenever possible (Jumping Jacks, Pull-ups, Chin ups, dips, squats, hanging leg raises, hanging knee raises, back raises, glute ham raises, burpees)9. Get at least 6 hours of sleep a night, but no more than 9.10. Actually stick to it till it becomes habit.Try this workout program:Workout A:Push ups 3 sets of 8Dips 3 sets of 8Hanging leg raises 3 sets of 8Back raises 3 sets of 830-45 minutes of cardioWorkout B:Sit ups 3 sets of 8Free squats 3 sets of 8Hanging knee raises 3 sets of 8Back raises 3 sets of 830-45 minutes of cardioWorkout C:Flutter kicks 3 sets of 8 (every time your left foot comes down, that's a rep)Dips 3 sets of 8Hanging knee raise crossovers 3 sets of 8Back raises 3 sets of 830-45 minutes of cardioTry and add 1 rep a week. And make sure you're eating enough to give yourself the energy you need. Instead of tracking your weight, since you'll be gaining a little bit of muscle, track progress the way an athlete would (reps/minutes gained, inches off waist etc)You can feel free to email me with any questions or comments.

  • Eat 1200 calories a day, fruit and veggies, protein. Exercise 1 hour a day, cardio.
  • Zumba classes maybe? But the best ways to lose weight is either running or swimming...but just stay have a good diet and does weight training too not weight lifting but weight training two different things :)
  • Eat less, that will be the main thing which will help you
  • Losing weight is mostly diet and tracking calories.http://www.calorieking.com/From whatever number you get from the caculator subtract 300 calories through diet and 200 through some type of exercise. This will make you use roughly 1 lb of fat per week, it doesn't seem like a lot, but it's the real way celebs and models do it. Keep track of your calories everyday. Maybe hop on a weight training program such as this:Squats 3 sets of 10Lunges 3 sets of 10Shoulder press 3 sets of 10Maybe pull ups if you can do them.Do that mon wed and friThat's about it, hope I helped! =)
  • I am 20 and not a cardio person either, although I will do it if I really want to lose weight. The best thing I have done to lose weight is going gluten free. I stopped eating gluten about a year ago. Without gluten I lost about 20 pounds in about 2 months. After that 20 however, I ended up gaining a few more (5 or so pounds) back. So, I don't think it is a very long lasting diet because your body gets used to it and begins to metabolise it differently but I definitely worked very well losing weight pretty quickly. Its also just better for you in general. BUT if you are telling to truth about your weight and height, you really do not need to lose weight. I am 5'4 and 120 would be too skinny for me! I think I look my best between 125 and 130. Maybe if you have some of a gut you need more muscle, not to lose weight
  • To lose fat you must be in a caloric deficit, a caloric deficit is when you burn more calories than you eat. First start off slow and easy, when your body starts to adapt you can adjust the intensity level. Also drink lots of water at least over a gallon of water it may sound like a lot but if you drink them throughout the day. This has been scientifically proven to burn fat faster. In terms of exercise, well to burn fat fast you must find a high intensity workout to burn that fat. Jogging in the treadmill seems like a good idea but it takes too much time for you to burn a good amount of calories and is incredibly boring. Here are some workouts that will help you burn fat fast.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkD9LwDBWW0http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCqWeAL2xb4Now remember you don't have to do them as fast as Mike but you still have to do some high intense workout to burn fat.
  • There are 5 Variables of a Fat Loss Nutrition Plan. This is a concept you may not hear about so much, its more in the realm of sports nutrition, but this is one variable that can make a big difference in regards to your recovery from training and the results you get. The timing in which you eat certain types of foods, can play a big role in how your body handles those nutrients. For example after a session of weight training, your body is in a unique physiological state where you'll handle carbohydrates (and your body's insulin response) a lot better, and you'll use protein more effectively. The protein you ingest within about 30 minutes of your training session basically triggers and kick starts the recovery process for muscle repair, strengthening and growth (toning up). Drinking it in the form of a liquid shake means it will metabolise and get into your system a lot quicker, and it's generally easier to get your hands on a shake within 30 minutes of training than it is a cooked chicken breast. If you haven't been taking a protein shake (with some good carbohydrates) after training to take advantage of this variable then that's one thing you can do straight away to noticeably improve your results, you'd be mad not to. This also means that you have a bit more wiggle room for carbohydrates like rice, potatoes etc in the couple of hours after you do some weight trainingChoosing which food to take and making an effort to "exercise", you don't have to be a triathlon to burn fat and keep your heart pumped up to achieve the results that you want. But one thing is for sure, IF you want it, you have to work for it. Begin with a good food program that works for your lifestyle, preferences and budget.

10 Biggest Mistakes Made When Trying to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
starvation mode only occurs below about 1200 calories a day so you might be ok, but you will defiantly lose weight with this plan, i think you should aim for losing about half the weight you are wanting as it could be dangerous to lose it any quicker than that, aim for between 2 and 3 pounds a week and it will also help you keep it off because extreme crash diets normally rebound on yourself and you end up after coming off the diet putting on more weight than before, but i really wish you good luck, don''t lose motivation stick with it :)

  • yes but can you keep up with that schedule??? no matter how good the plan sounds its a matter of consistency that will help ypu
  • Yes, sounds like you know what you need to do...why are you asking for advice?
  • To most EFFECTIVELY lose weight you need to consume about 1800 Calories per day in EXCESS of any exercise you do. So if you burn 400 Calories with exercise you need to eat 2200 Calories per day to lose weight.

Anything less and your body will go into starvation mode making weight loss very difficult and it will lead to considerable weight gain in the future. And being 13 not getting enough calories can affect your body as it matures.

So what you''re doing is great except you need to double what you''re eating.

I don''t know if it will help fast. I guess that depends on the person. You have to stay consistent. I heard the insanity was really good. What I do is I jog for an hour each day sometimes an hour and a half. It keeps me in shape aside from my diet. The walking is good although, you should'' expect to see quick results with walking. The recumbent will tone the legs, so that''s good and strength workouts are also good. I would say just stay consistent. The hard work will pay off. Good luck.

  • try 1 hour zumba plus 30 mins to 1 hour of exercise
but its better to watch your diet
you will get better results while on zumba
  • Fast? No, not really. I have done both Zumba sets and have done the toning routines in both. I did see some results from the Zumba Flat Abs after a couple months of doing it almost daily. Don''t get me wrong, I love Zumba, but I have seen more toning in 10 days of the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred than I did months doing Zumba. Even in the toning, Zumba incorporates too many dance moves to really tone fast, whereas 30 Day Shred really works the muscles hard.

  • One thing I would really like to discuss is that weightloss program fast may be accomplished by the proper diet and exercise. Someone''s size not just affects appearance, but also the general quality of life. Self-esteem, despression symptoms, health risks, and also physical capabilities are afflicted in extra weight. It is possible to make everything right but still gain. Should this happen, a problem may be the offender. While a lot of food rather than enough workout are usually responsible, common health conditions and trusted prescriptions can easily greatly enhance size.
  • Ive heard eating or drinking grapefruit is beneficial for burning fat? But is this true is it good for weight loss?
  • grapefruit has an anti-oxidant content like Vit C. so its good for your health.
  • Try cutting it with water or with another juice like orange or grape or something.
  • its ok to drink juice as much as you want as its good for your body and mind,
  • I am starting the grapefruit diet today and just wanna know if it worked for anyone else if so how much weight did you lose and in what period of time??? thanks

Do herbal diet pills really work? Should I switch to laxatives?

I take 4 herbal diet pills a day. Three of them (all the same kind) have apple cider vinegar, kelp, B6, and lecethin in them. The others (I take one a day after a meal of my choosing) are called Stackers 2 (containing white willow bark, caffeine, and other natural herbs, can't recall what though.) I take them with lots of water. Do they work at all? Even a little bit? What about side effects? Should I switch to laxatives? If so, what kind? Thanks.

First of all, I noticed that you mention kelp. Kelp is a seaweed and very nutritious--however, it is also extremely high in iodine which is a trace mineral. If you are deficient in iodine then you will lose some weight by taking iodine. The claim that seaweed reduces weight is a myth, not a fact.
Secondly, if you read the label carefully you will read somewhere that you are also required to be on a "sensible" diet and exercise program---so again, it is not the herbal supplement but diet and exercise that will cause weight loss.

I used to be obese and find that all those diet supplements are crap---it takes a complete lifestyle change to lose weight and keep it off. The best way to start is with a food diary(plus tyhe drinks) to see what needs to be changed. Going low carb helps a great deal as well. Gluten free is the "in" diet at this time. I have celiac's and have to avoid gluten--I can see that staying off gluten keeps me slim. However, exercising, a lot of fruit and vegetables, less processed food, and a positive attitude are the key to permanent weight loss--herbal supplements just aid the body in some way but will not cause weight loss by itself!!

  • Neither of them work.
If you want to lose weight none of these fad tricks work, you need to put in the hard work and actually eat right and work out.
  • No please do not take laxatives for weight loss. They are dangerous. You take stick to the herbal stuff but you also have to exercise and eat right! Go to the library or bookstore and get a good book on nutrition/fitness. Or join an online weight loss program like fitclick.com !
