How to Use Chewing Gum to Lose Weight

Diet is the most important factor of weight loss. You could be working out hours daily, but without adequate nutrition, your body will not shed fat.Consider cutting out a majority of processed and fast foods. Eliminating sodas, white flour/rice/pastas, candy, fried foods, chips, and cake will not only help you lose weight but help your body in the long run. Eat wholesome, natural foods from the major macronutrient categories:Carbohydrates: ex. sweet potatoes, brown rice, oatsProteins: ex. chicken breasts, lean cuts of beef, beans, greek yogurtFats: ex. salmon, avocado, peanut butter, flaxseedsFiber: ex. broccoli, collard greens, fruits, vegetablesTry to eat a balance- don't go cutting out all the carbs or fats- your body needs each of these despite what the media may tell you.If dieting is new to you and this all seems too much, consider taking it slow- make a list of healthy, processed foods you enjoy eating. Make another list of not so healthy foods you love. Eat 80% from the healthy side, 20% from the other. This way you am enjoy in moderation. As for exercise, it's more important to do something you like and stick with it than doing the exercise that 'burns the most calories'. Consider working out in the gym- incorporate compound movements to build strength like squats, deadlifts, and benching. It will help you out in the field too. However, if that's not your thing, consider walking outside, biking, soccer, or as you already mentioned, football. As long as you keep it consistent and are enjoying it, you will reap the benefits.Overall, the most important piece of advice I can give you is to stay educated. Read articles and books, watch documentaries and videos, visit websites on these topics. Don't let the media convince you what is healthy (special K is not. neither is 'zero calorie' soda). Read your food labels and stay away from something you can't pronounce.

I don't get what is wrong with skinny girls?

Ok so people say that all girls should love their bodies right? That means tall thin curvy short or whatever. But what I don't get is people saying that skinny girls are ugly and skinny girls are "barbies". I'm personally skinny, I'm 15 and i'm somewhere above 90 pounds. But I don't want to be skinny, I want to gain weight and be more curvy. I really don't care for body weight I really don't. I just don't get that they bash skinny girls like that when they say to love your body like does that only apply to girls who are curvy? I'm so confused, like they say nasty things about skinny girls can someone explain please?

I think it's just people thinking in black and white. They always assume skinny is bad because the models are always too skinny and that just means they're anorexic or some crap like that but that's just their assumption. However with curvy girls they tell them to work what they got and love it but why can skinny girls love it too? I personally think if someone is happy with the skin they're in no one can change that. You're only 15 give your body sometime to change more and don't overdo the gaining weight thing, it'll come slowly but surely. Try running, my friend was super frail looking and tall but she joined track and the muscle build gave her curves. She was insanely happy about that lol Good luck to you though (:

  • I don't know where you live, but skinny is normal everywhere. I've honestly never heard anyone hating on skinny people before and to be real, "love your body" quotes really were made for people not skinny or those who are insecure. It really isn't for skinny girls. Why? Because I don't know what's wrong with you, but our society WANTS to be skinny. Why do you think there are girls that throw up their food or starve themselves? What about the models? They all want to be skinny, I wouldn't know why they bash on skinny girls, I've never heard bad stuff about them.
  • You can't really gain weight and become curvy...People slate skinny people because they think that it's wrong. With more people becoming clinically obesite, there is more hate on people that still have obtained their skinny figure. Don't worry about it, you don't need big hips and curves to look good!

should i join the track team in my freshman year?

So im going to be a freshman in about a month. I was thinking of joining the track team. I have never done track though. However, i am pretty fit since i go to the gym and i use the stepper and lift weights. However, i should start practicing running. I'm pretty tall and could run pretty fast but im not sure if i can run long distances that well. I really would like to join track but im a little nervous because i dont want to cause the track team to lose anything. Im afraid they'll get mad at me or something. (i might be just paranoid haha) because im not a super slow runner or anything. But should i join the track team?

You sound like the perfect candidate to try track! Even if you weren't in shape I'd recommend you do track, because they will get you in shape. There are a lot of events in track, and if you don't like long distances, then you can try short distance sprints, which include 100, 200 and 400 meters. And those are just the sprints. There are also hurdles, jumps, pole vaulting and field events. However, track is a spring season sport. In the fall you could try cross country, which will definitely get you in shape for track. As for your team-mates getting mad at you, don't worry about that. Running sports aren't like other team sports. Whatever you do will only affect yourself, unless you end up placing (finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd) in your race—which is very helpful, of course—whatever you do won't affect the team. Besides, I've found that runners have been some of the nicest people I have ever met! Good luck, and you should definitely go for it!:)

  • There are tons of events you can do in track. If you're not a long distance runner, then you can be a sprinter. They have the 100 which is the short distance sprint. 400, which is running one lap around the track. The mile which is 4 laps around a track and so on. They shock put, which is throwing a heavy ball. They have hurdling, also that event which you sprint and jump as far as you can and the one with the most jumping distances win. For the life of me I can't remember what its called, but yea those are all the events you can do in track. There are some more as well, not just that.

Will eating two meals a day affect my weight loss and fitness journey?

Before you get the wrong idea, I'm not trying to starve myself in anyway. I'm a 15 year old girl who is currently trying to have a change of lifestyle to be healthier and fit. About a week ago, I decided that it was time to stop lazying around and get fit. As I began to exercise more (about 30 minutes to an hour), I noticed I have started to eat less. For example, today. I woke up a bit later than usual and decided that I would exercise later rather than first thing in the morning. So I had my breakfast and then 4 hours later (after a long mental debate) I began to exercise. I finished at about 2 hours later. Then I had my lunch (which was actually dinner). I always read that for healthier weight loss, you should eat 5-6 small meals a day. Is how I'm eating bad, or should I continue to go on like this? Also, how big should a meal be? Thanks.

So, for the normal person, 2 - 3 meals per day is fine. A body builder or someone who is really training hard will eat 5-6 small meals a day.Onto your questions. Eating two meals a day is good and bad and here is why:People think that eating two meals means skipping the third. That is when it is bad. Instead, eat a high protein breakfast (Eggs, Bacon, Milk, ect...). You will be pretty full for a while and your metabolism will get a good kick start. For lunch, eat something like a quesadilla or turkey sandwich. For dinner, eat something small at your discression. The problem with dinner is most people think "I ate so well all day and worked out, I deserve a good, big meal now". While honestly you do deserve it, it doesn't work like that. You will lose all of your gains if you eat a big meal from Arby's. If you are going to eat a big meal, make it a sandwich shop (Subway) or pasta (Fazolis). If you eat carbs you can burn them easily unlike fat from a burgerHope I helped!

Other Answers:

  • Eating more meals does not help with weight loss. Its just the overall calories for the day that matters. If you want to eat 2 meals a day that's fine just make sure they are bigger meals so you get in enough calories.
  • Yes, 5-6 small meals is way better than 2 big ones. Of course when I talk about small meals, I'm talking about healthy snacks, salads with steak, fruits, these kind of meals. If you give your stomach small healthy meals, it will start burning the food more efficiently and as fruits and greens take more energy to assimilate, it will help you lose more weight than a food that's easy to decompose and store (as fat) for energy - like sugar based food, bread, pasta, etc.. Makes sense? If your body knows it's getting food regularly, it will stop believing it needs to store fat for "rainy days" and your metabolism will be boosted (this is the reason some people get away with eating a lot and never get fat - their machine is working better; for some people it's genes for others is the result of a carefully planned meal plan).
