Healthy body image idea?

So, I'm a 15 year old girl who has lost 60 pounds in 8 months. I started at 5 foot 6, 195, and now I'm 135. I want to lose about 15-20 more pounds a majority of which is belly fat, and tone up. I think weighing myself every day and strictly counting calories is making me miserable. So...school starts in two weeks. I think I've decided I'm not going to weigh myself until the morning before. I'm also going to stop counting calories strictly, but I WILL watch what I eat and estimate.I started today, this is my diet intake:I had a handful of goldfish crackers while running after preschoolers at Vacation Bible School from 8:30 to twelve this morning. Not the best choice, but I forgot to bring myself a snack. a bottle of water (50 calories)Brunch: a bowl of whole grain oatmeal with peanut butter mixed in and half a banana. two bottles of water (400 calories)Snack: a handful of baby carrots and a few blueberries (50 calories)Dinner: a baked chicken breast seasoned with garlic, steamed carrots, and greenbeans (400 calories), bottle of waterI am about to head to the gym and do an hour of cardio. (20 minutes on the elliptical, 20 of interval training on the treadmill, and 20 on the stationary bike) which will probably burn 400. Throughout the day, I've done about 30 minutes of strength training exercise. Tonight for a snack I'll probably have some air popped popcorn with a dash of garlic salt.I'll estimate by the end of the day I'll have consumed about 1100-1300 calories and burned 500-600. Am I doing okay? And do you think not weighing myself will help my body image?

However, you need to be careful to not lose too much. As a growing teen, you should keep 20% body fat whether or not you happen to like how it appears on your body. The most economical way to do that is to buy some skin fold calipers and learn how to take the measurements. You'll need to buy some calipers like this --> http://www.heartratemonitors.com/hrmfat.html?productid=hrmfat&channelid=FROOG or this --> http://www.heartratemonitorsusa.com/accufitness-f3k.html?productid=accufitness-f3k&channelid=FROOG&utm_source=CSEs&utm_medium=GoogleShopping&utm_campaign=heartratemonitorsusa .Then follow the instructions that come with the calipers or use a website like this ---> http://www.muscleandstrength.com/tools/how-to-measure-bodyfat-using-calipers.html or this --> http://www.free-online-calculator-use.com/skin-fold-test.html#Chest .Measuring body fat with calipers is tricky and requires some practicing until you begin to get consistent and accurate measurements. Obese people can't expect good results from using this method. Don't expect extreme accuracy because there is not accurate way to measure body fat. Using calipers in the best way possible should get you within 3-5% of your actual body fat percent. Also, don't focus too much on the numbers without a good reason. How much body fat you have is not about numbers. It's about how you look and how you feel. How much weight will I loose if I starve mylself for two weeks?

Schools coming up in a little less than two weeks. And I really want to lose like 10-20 pounds. How much weight would I lose if I ate only dinner? And drank green tea and water only? I plan on exercising. Walking two miles everyday. Or every two days. I know this is bad but I plan to slowly return to a healthy diet with exercise once I lose the weight. Please DO NOT tell me otherwise because I know what happens. You're just wasting your time. I'll rate best comment for the one who doesn't tell me it's bad and gives me a lecture. Okay, thank you. c:

  • The key to losing weight is a steady diet and exercise. Since you told me not to, I won't tell you how bad starving yourself is. I will tell you that a light 3 meals a day is a good way to start. NO MORE SNACKS. Snacks are un-needed carbs that don't fill you up. Usually, people can't tell the difference from hungry and thirsty. If you've had your breakfast and you feel hungry shortly after, you're probably thirsty. Drink LOTS of water, but make sure you don't starve yourself. Walking or jogging daily is also recommended. Oh, and also, it would be impossible to lose 10 pounds in only two weeks. The key here is perseverance, dedication, and patience.EDIT: Starvation causes your body to first eat away at your MUSCLE and then at your fat, which is why it never works.
  • Ok so I'm not going to lecture you but I'm gonna tell the truth. By starving your self you will actually gain weight. Your body goes into starvation mode then packs on fat and any calories it can hold on to. It's better to cut off all drinks except for water and green tea with dieting and exercise. But if you do starve your self, you will lose about 10-15 lbs and then gain 15-20. Trust me. I went from a size 2Jean to a 00 then up to a 4. It sucks.

Staying Motivated to Lose Weight

Firstly I would advise getting the pyschological problem look at and figure out what exactly is the issue in that scenario. By finding out what the root of the problem is, you can find out if it is affecting your chances to gain weight. Only when you have sorted it out and found out that it is not part of the contributing factor to your low weight and being skinny, then perhaps you can try eating a high calorie diet, sleeping well and visit the gym to put on the essential muscle mass you need and thus this will lead to progressive weight gain.

The key thing to get right is to eat a high calorie diet. This does not mean eating a lot, but rather eating a lot of meals in a day. Your body can only utilize so much nutrients and anything more will simply turn out as waste, making you burn more calories in the process. What you need is a strict 6 meals diet daily. This can be difficult to achieve but I found that if I eat my 3 normal meals with more carbohydrates like bread, noodles, pasta, biscuit, bread and rice and supplement it with drinking milk 3 times a day it really helps me to gain weight. The idea is to eat a high carbohydrate meal, rest for 2 hours and drink 500ml of milk. Keep doing this until you achieve your 6 meal quota each day. Once you have done so, try it out for a week or 2 and see if you gain any weight. If not, simply increase the milk you drink by a 100ml each time you drink it. I''m certain it will help you gain the weight you need.

Next thing to take note is to find out how many hours of rest you need. When you have poor quality sleep, lack of sleep or interrupted sleep, you will burn more calories as your body is woken up abruptly from its normal sleeping cycle. The way to gauge how much sleep you need is to turn in and wake up all by yourself. Try doing this on a weekend where you do not have anything planned so that you will wake up by yourself. Simply then calculate the amount of sleep you need from there and sleep the same exact hours everyday.

Lastly, what you need is a workout regime that will help you build some muscles. Most of the weight you lose comes from essential muscles which protects your body and bones from the knocks as well as maintain the amount of blood sugar level in your blood. In order to build back or get the essential muscles, I highly recommend the workout called the real natural guide to gain weight at http://gohforth.com. It has helped me in my time of need when I was struggling to stay healthy when I was skinny.

Dance To Lose Weight

Cut out the junk food totally, because it''s addicitive and sets up a negative cycle in your brain and body. Exercise is the better half of "dieting and exercise" by far! SO yes exercise, average 45 mins a day, 5 days a week.
The Most Important Thing You Must Understand is you need to keep your program ENJOYABLE! If your brain or body find it too painful, no matter how strongly your mind is committed to working the program, eventually, (usually less than 6 weeks) your brain will make you quit! It won''t tolerate pain.At the same time it''s so very important that you allow your body and brain time to adjust to your new training. From tendons being stretched to complicated metabolic issues, to learning proper form, pace and routines your brain and body need at least 6 weeks to line up to really get things going.
Don''t give much credit to the scale when first starting, it''s normal to retain more fluids, it''s your body''s way of being ready for the next workout. Don''t micro-manage your calories either. Sensible wholesome meals, the quality of the calories is more important than the quantity. Your diet should be ENJOYABLE too, and something you can develop and maintain as a habit.
Workout at your own pace, which in the beginning should be slower, focus more on how you move ( your form) as it''s important to how your body will shape up and that you don''t get injured. Just about any exercise is good and will work, walking, jogging, running, cycling but my favorite and number one choice for losing or gaining weight is weightlifting aka bodybuilding. If your a girl, don''t worry that you''ll get manly muscles, the average steriod-free female builds only a small amount of muscle each year. But that muscle is awesome! Because not only does it burn calories while your working and using them, and while they are repairing and replenishing themselves, but 24/ 7 they consume calories just to stay alive! Just try not to miss a single day of working out for the first 6 months without a real good reason, otherwise slacking off can become the habit. Other than taking your two scheduled days off per week. Rest is important, so get to bed at a decent time as well. Make sure you drink plenty of water everyday. Learn to drink water warm, so you can have it anytime/anywhere. Other than keeping it sensible and enjoyable, remember all the benefits you''ll get from exercising and a decent diet. You''ll sleep better, have better energy, breathing, moods, concentration, endurance, strength, self-confidence, and so much more. It''s really the closest thing to magical powers each human has, so don''t miss out! 45-60 minutes a day, 5 days a week is ideal, but by all means start with less if need be, again keeping it enjoyable is everything! One other piece of advice in this, and that''s don''t do situps! They don''t work the muscle properly so growth is very doubtful, and they risk lower back and hernia injuries. If you must, which most ppl don''t, do crunches. Most ppl don''t need to worry about their abs, they are small muscles that do alot of work already, every time you move your upper body they work, as well as working during many of your other movements, so if your working your body they are getting theirs. The diet industry has hyped up abs so much, because they know most ppl will fail, because they are too painful and produce little to no results, which they hope will lead people to buying their junk products ( it''s working, they''ve been doing it a long time) seeing your abs is a matter of having a low body fat percentage, even as a competitive Steroid-free Bodybuilder, I only do crunches starting a few weeks before a show, so I can flex my abs over and over with ease and to give them a little more definition, other than that, they''re already built from my many years of training the rest of my body and the low body fat percentage I obtain for doing shows, is only for the show, I wouldn''t consider it healthy to keep year round, and it would defiantly hinder any further muscle development. Remember the only thing your belly fat and abs have in common is location, other than that, they have nothing to do with one another, so don''t burn yourself out working your abs, when it''s your whole body that needs the workout and will produce the results you want.

Just start easy, give your body time to start providing you additional energy, keep learning more as you go, and before you know it, you''ll have the body you''ve always wanted, with the loads of extra benefits I pointed out.

  • Well i think the best diet is one lemon after every meal it burns most of the fat you habe eaten and try to eat a looot of protein like the glair of eeg milk and meat and try too cook youre meals with margarin oil or margarin butter and try to go runing for about 30 minuts every morning for a reason mornings you burn more fat while running and if you want youre stomach extra flat go hard swiming classes it realy helps im a swimmer too i eat 6 meals a day and i never get fat and i have flat stoamash with six packs .
  • To answer all of your questions accurately I would need to know much more about your current situation e.g your age, height and weight but i will give you a general answer to your questions.

    1) To answer this question i would need to know what your current calorie intake is as well as your weight and age. For an 18 year old girl who weighs 120 pounds is 5 foot 3 and exercises 3 times per week her calorie intake should be around 1800 calories and to lose weight she would reduce this to about 1400. You can you this as a benchmark for your own intake

2)If you want to lose weight then exercise is a necessity, all of us should be exercising at least 3 times per week. The type of exercise you do depends on what sort of goals you have.
If you want to be more toned and have a good bikini bod you should do some cardio as well as sit ups squats and lunges, maybe buy a yoga or fitness dvd that you can work along to in your free time.

    3) To keep the fat away you should avoid foods high in carbs, fats and sugars and have a high intake of protein and fruit and vegetables and drink about 2 liters of water per day. But remember that to be healthy you need to take everything in moderation and allow yourself a treat every so often.

    4) To tell you anything else is to set yourself goals and record your progress to keep motivated. Avoid using a scale to measure progress as daily fluctuations can cause demotivation but instead take full body pictures and compare them over time. Only one last thing to say and that''s good luck. I hope you get the body you want
