Does Apple Cider Vinegar Really Work?

I've been drinking ACV with water for about a week now and I've noticed that I've been gaining weight rather than losing it. So does it really work like everyone says it does?If it does, is there any scientific evidence to prove it? (I've researched on my own as well; most reviews have been positive, however it's been stated that weight loss with drinking ACV is not backed up by actual evidence and therefore ineffective). What is the most efficient way to drink ACV?

ACV is one of the biggest scams there is. No, it doesn't work for anything and no, it is NOT supported by robust peer reviewed scientific data."Given the scientific implausability behind most of vinegar's claims, not surprisingly, there is no scientific evidence that it has any medicinal properties. The FDA has even issued warning letters to nutraceutical companies selling apple cider vinegar products for making unsupportable claims that it reduces cholesterol levels or hardening of the arteries; lowers risks for heart disease, heart attacks or strokes; or is effective for conditions ranging from obesity to arthritis. Even the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), a division of the National Institutes of Health specifically tasked to investigate natural or unconventional modalities, has found no studies to support vinegar."http://junkfoodscience.blogspot.com.au/2008/04/houston-we-have-problem-apple-cider.html

How to Lose Weight and Keep it Off - Don''t Read This If You Aren''t Serious About Losing Weight

Unless you have a huge backing to equip your home with your own personal gym and training space, I highly recommend going to the gym and also eating a high calorie natural diet to gain weight. So many people I have coached have done it this way and so I really do not see the reason why you should buy the equipments as well as the supplements to gain weight. What you need is a high calorie diet, sleep and the right workout regime to help you to gain muscles.

The key thing about diet is to eat more calories. This does not mean you feed yourself huge meals 3 times a day. This will lead to indigestion, gastric pains and other digestive complications because there is only so much your body can digest at one time. The idea is to eat more meals a day, preferably 6. This can be difficult if you are on the move all day like I''m so I suggest just stick to your 3 meals like you do but bring a long a liter of milk with you before you leave the house. Drink 500ml of milk in between each of your meal and finish the last dose 2 hours after dinner. This will provide the extra calories you need to gain weight. If after a week your weight is still not going up, simply increase the amount of milk you drink by 100ml and stick to your normal portions for your normal meals. Keep doing this until you gain the weight you need to. You should be putting on roughly a pound a week in my opinion. Once you gotten 2-3 pounds, it is time to focus on getting the right workout to help you build muscles and ensure that your body gain weight more steadily.

The best workout to do in order to grow muscle mass in terms of size is to do a high weight low repetition workout called hypertrophy. This will adjust your muscles to use the food you eat as the main source of energy rather than oxygen like smaller muscles do. If you are starting out to gain muscle mass, perhaps you should download the program at http://gohforth.com. This program has been extremely effective for me personally and also benefited my clients very well.

One thing that many people miss out is the fact that sleep is extremely important to help you gain weight and maintain a strong immune system. This is because when you stay up late, have interrupted sleep cycle or not enough hours of rest, you will burn more calories throughout the day and this means that you have to eat more or risk loosing weight. This is made worse if your metabolism is like mine in the past and this will probably mean you will lose up to 3-4 pounds in a week due to poor quality sleep. The road is long and tough, but as long as your stick by the 3 things which is a high calorie diet, sleep well and do the right workout regime, you will see roughly a 1 pound of muscle weight gain a week. I hoped I have helped you.

  • protein and creatine
BUT i suggest you workout for atleast 3 months before you start taking anything

How to Lose Weight Really Fast in 3 Easy Steps

Recommended Answer:
I would suggest what I did... I lost 10 pounds in a month...

Breakfast: Fruit smoothie, 200 calories
Lunch: Salad, fruit, 300 calories
Snacks: Fruit, veggies, or yogurt, 200 calories
Dinner: Should be less than 700 calories. Check the special k website, they have good, low-calorie meals.

You need to make sure you are eating healthy things, no stuff that has lots of carbs, hence the fruit and veggies. (I never have granola bars, even for snacks.) I also cut a lot of meat out of my diet; I''m on my way to becoming a vegan. Make sure you get enough protein though, I usually put a protein powder in my smoothie for breakfast.

Don''t have too little calories, otherwise your body will start storing fat. (it goes into survival mode when it goes too long without enough food. Light snacking and spreading out your food is encouraged!)

What kind of exercises are you doing? You should do cardio, but also muscle building exercises to speed up your metabolism. Try an elliptical trainer, treadmill, and core-building exercises.

This is NOT a professional opinion, just personal. It worked for me, and I am now healthy.

  • Mabie you should add a little more fruits and veggies and 100 cal. after your workout
  • No, those bars won''t give you enough nutrients or energy, and you''ll end up with malnutrition problems. This way you won''t have energy distributed throughout the whole day so you will end up shutting down, and eventually start eating the wrong stuff.
You should choose a healthy nutrition plan, and one that you can keep for the rest of your life, even when you achive your weight goal.
Try to eat 5/6 times a day:

At breakfast, eat one or two slices of whole-grain bread (depending on the bread type) with fresh chese or chicken breast, a glass of milk and a piece of fruit. You can alternatively eat whole-grain cereal with milk and fruit.
During the morning, eat a piece of fruit and a hand-full of nuts.
At lunch, eat rice, pasta or boiled potatoe with grilled chicken or turkey meat or fish, and a lot of salad or boiled vegetables.
During the afternoon, eat a yoghutr or a cup of milk with fruit.
At dinner, eat a soup and some fish or turkey/chicken meat (grilled).

Now, for the exerise part, you can either walk, jog, or do other type of cardio, but don''t forget to warm up and stretch before and after exercising. A good way to keep motivated is to alternate between one of those DVD workouts (you can grab them easily from the internet), and a walk or a jog. Try to do at least 15-20 minutes and increase the time weekly, as you get more comfortable.

Be aware that weight loss does not happen overnight, and it will take you several months or years to reach your goal, but you''d better do it now, instead of keeping for when you''re older (it will be much harder to lose the weight then).

Does this sound like a good general health/weight loss plan?

I'm only looking to lose about 5 pounds as I am naturally a very small and lightweight person, however have gained about 5 pounds recently due to terrible eating habits! I want to become vegan (I'm already vegetarian) and am right now currently dealing with many binge eating problems. So, I decided this week I'll let myself eat how I want but switch over to the vegan diet (which will also be healthier, so hopefully if I am bingeing then it is on healthier things?) and then next week I'll continue with the vegan diet but I'll focus even more on the healthier aspect; as in not just eating vegan, but trying to make healthy choices with it (a banana over shreddies cereal, homemade soup over store-bought veggie burger etc...) I think if I switch to more and more healthier alternatives, the bingeing will subside as I tend to only binge on really nasty foods. Does this sound like a good plan? :)
5 pounds might look like nothing on other people but on me 5 pounds is a huuge difference! I am a VERY tiny girl and 5 pounds has made my stomach look like a giant blowfish. I have a fast metabolism so I don't gain alot from binge eating but it is really unhealthy for me to be eating this way and I want to stop mainly for my own health. Eating a healthier diet will help me overcome binge eating I think
