How to Lose Weight on a Tight Budget

Recommended Answer:

Someone who knows a good diet! Thank goodness. So many people now days still think " Cut all carbs " or " Cut all fats" and it's just not healthy!Anyways, yes, you certainly can lose 30 pounds in 4 months, assuming you are at least 30 pounds overweight. Look up interval training, it's a really good way to lose fat. It's something like fast treadmill for a minute, 30 second cooldown, fast for another minute. That's not the exact setup but look it up, it's a very good way to work out.I wish you luck on your weight loss! You found a really good diet, if you incorporate a good workout regimen, and avoid stress, you'll get there in no time.

  • Absolutely! Just believe in what you are doing. Don't let anyone tell you you can't. Try it! If it doesn't work, try again!
  • I'm done with my weight loss journey and completely happy with how I feel and how I look right now however losing weight is a challenge for anyone and even losing 5 pounds and keeping it off isn't an easy task. Also I bet you didn't know that 5 pounds of fat is about the size of 8 cheese burgers? That alone should be enough to make anyone want to get on the ball and start a change for the better. Weight loss can be really easy to learn but the problem is nobody wants to put the required effort that is needed to actually do it, instead people continually look for (easy) ways to do it. If there was an easy way to lose weight I don't think 35% of Americans would be obese. There was a time when I also wanted to lose weight and was tired of starting diets only to lose motivation and give up just a few weeks later after seeing no results. However, let me tell you it is literally one of the easiest things you will ever learn once you find a good and reputable place to learn it from and I say that only because the world is filled with magic diet pills, liquid flush diets and a thousand other quick fixes that promise xx pounds of weight loss in the first week and even though it is impossible they know you're going to do it because your desperate. I have probably tried every diet pill, liquid flush diet, and ab rocket machine known to man and have had no success with any of them nor do I know anyone that has ever had any success with them. I have also tried starving myself which works very well for the first few weeks' right before your metabolism comes to a complete stop and eating just the tiny bit makes you gain weight and you end up weighing more than you did before you started starving yourself. Companies promote weight loss to make money not to get people healthy again and that's because they know you're not going to be a customer and buy their products if you're no longer fat. http://fatloossfactor.com is a site I want you to go to when you have 10 or 20 minutes to spare and I want you to sit down and watch his video on weight loss. He helps people every day to lose weight I have never seen someone as committed as him and that will go so far out of his way to help someone. His weight loss program is one of the best I have ever had the enjoyment of doing and it is without doubt the best success I have ever had with any weight loss program. I also couldn't be happier with my body right now and I have never felt this wonderful in my whole life. In the end you just got to remember to stick with it and stay confident in yourself and in no time you can achieve the results you have always wanted. It's not hard to lose weight but most people have a hard time staying motivated and 9 times out of 10 it was because they weren't really committed from the beginning. Anyways I hope I helped you and I hope you make the commitment to change your body and life. Remember it's not easy to take the first step but you did, you're here right now taking it and the rest of the steps will fall into place. Have a wonderful day.
  • See, keep your protein intake as high as possible. It helps in digestion process.Obesity generally occurs due to accumulation of undigested food over a period of time. So, what I suggest to you is that avoid unhealthy food.Have a balanced diet & of-course do exercise on regular basis.Running, sit-ups etc are the best. There is also another quick way of reducing weight.I can suggest you the most reputed brand for diet pills if you want..Here:http://mhlnk.com/04F83571You may try this also...This is definitely very effective..You can google it out on this brand & its results,,,Hope this helps..!! :)

is there any military colleges with all branches?

I'm still kinda deciding on whether to join the air force after high school or after college. But the only way I'll go to college is if I'm on a ROTC scholarship. And the only thing holding me back from going in after high school is my weight. I need to gain about 20 pounds, but I struggle with gaining weight. I just need to know if there is a military college with all branches or if there is an all air force college (I already know about the air force academy) I need to know if there are any other colleges that involve the air force or if they're any college's with the best Air force ROTC? Please help. I'm confused on what decision to make

Is my weight loss should consider rapid ?

Last week on thursday I was weighting between 314 to 318 an today I weighted myself and was 297. And I'm not on no type of dieting or been excising either. I know there are a few common disease that causes rapid weight loss such as cancer and hiv... And I already been tested for hiv a month ago and it came back normal, but never for cancer. I also been having issues with my lymph node on the right side of my jaw as well it's been kinda tender. I do have I blood pressures I don't but I'm not sure that has something to do with my weight loss.. But my question is should I be worried and is my weight loss consider a rapid rate loss due to a disease.

How to Calculate Calorie Intake to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

Diet And Exercising For Weight LossObesity is now being called an epidemic in the health community. In fact, it will soon be the leading cause of preventable death in the United States, even ahead of cigarette smoking. Obesity leads to type two diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or stroke and even an increased risk of cancer. With all of these health risks, as well as the general improvement in the quality of life that can occur, losing weight is one of the best things that you can do for yourself. No matter what we would like to believe, there simply isn't a magic solution to losing weight. The body will shed excess fat when it needs more calories to function through the demands you place on it in a given day than the amount of calories that you feed it. It's that simple. So, in order to lose weight, you need to decrease the number of calories that you eat as well as increase the amount that you burn. There is a wide range of options to choose from when looking for a weight loss program. All of them often spend a lot of time explaining what to eat, in what amounts and even at what times or in what combinations. But few of them emphasize the importance of exercise – not just for losing weight, but for your general health and wellbeing. Exercise is vital when trying to lose weight for several reasons:First, as you start to eat less, your metabolism will slow down somewhat. Exercising helps to elevate your metabolism back to an efficient level.Second, as mentioned, exercise burns more calories so that you can lose weight faster and stay motivated in your efforts.Third, exercise actually releases endorphins, chemicals that keep your mood elevated.Exercise doesn't have to mean spending hours at the gym or straining through exhausting workouts. In fact, in order for you to stick with it on the long run, exercising should be something that you enjoy. Start by increasing your activity level in an overall way. Take the stairs when you can. Park further from the mall door when you go shopping. Go for a walk in the park or through a neighborhood you love and bring a dog or a friend along for company. Take dance or martial arts lessons.Once you become more active in general, you'll find it easier and more natural to move into regular exercise. Which you'll need to do eventually in order to get regular, noticeable health benefits. You need to raise your heart rate to a fat burning level and keep it there for at least 20 minutes, 3 times or more a week. However, if you don't want to go to a gym, there are other options. Videos and DVDs are now available in all kinds of exercise types. That way you can change your routine whenever you want so that you don't get bored with what you're doing. Try a range of aerobics, kickboxing, yoga, or pretty much any activity you want right in the comfort of your own home.If you have physical limitations that would keep you off from exercising, you can still find a way to increase your activity level. Water aerobics is a wonderful option for those who have joint problems or limited mobility because it relieves the pressure on your body that your weight provides. But you still get the resistance to challenge your muscles from the water. There are even classes and videos available that let you exercise in a seated position.Whatever kind of exercise you choose, it's important to stay motivated and keep it fun. Try gathering a group together to make it a social event. Or get a pedometer, a device that tracks how far you walk, and see how many miles you can walk a week. Make a competition amongst your friends or family members and treat the winner with something special (not food related!). Make the experience of exercising something that you look forward to, and it will soon become a regular part of your healthier lifestyle.

  • yess,i use to eat less everyday and i lost about 10kg in a month ..
  • no you also have to burn calories too
  • well you have to eat less the the amount that you usually eat..... i lost 24 pounds in a month by just eating raw vegetables i think i ate less then 400 calories i also drank tons of water. .
  • Try to eat 1200-1500 per day and you will lose 2-3 lbs per week. Also drink plenty of water since our bodies cannot metabolize without it. Good luck!
  • A good diet and exercise is key.. I suggest running a mile or two everyday. or you can even do more if you feel up to it. You should not be eating junk food high in sugar, and try not to go over a 1250 calories. a tricky way to do this is eat 4 meals with 250 calories each, that's 1000 calories. plus 250 of a beverage (milk possibly or whatever is ok for your type of diet)
  • Well in 'I'm a celebrity get me out here' TV program they live in the Aussie Jungle for like 3 weeks and live on rations. When they come out and weighed they have always lost about 8 + pounds (some) some even more & some less without excercise as they're just sitting around a camp fire.

How can I help my sick goldfish? (staying at bottom tank on side, not eating, fighting to swim)?

Hi, I've had a little gold fish for over a half year now, and he is usually very very active and swimming all over the place. He is the only fish in a filtered 1gallon tank. I feed him a little bit of food twice a day (flakes) and he's never seem to be sick. He stays in a 74-80 degree environment though usually it's towards the middle of that. He usually is always so excited for food. Earlier today I noticed he was just laying at the bottom of his tank not doing much. I can tell he's breathing, and whenever he sees me he gets excited and tries to swim around like he used to, but he just kind of gives up and floats back to the bottom of the tank. At first he tried to get at the food because it was feeding time when I noticed this, but he just gave up and kinda floated to the bottom. I tried the boiled shelled peas for him, and I can't tell if he's been eating those or not, I see most of them still just on the bottom of his tank. Now it almost seems like something is wrong with his swim bladder because he looks like he's struggling to stay swimming straight and when he floats to the bottom he lays on his side now. I have been checking to see if he's still breathing, and he is for now. Whenever I walk up to him he does attempt to swim around but then like I said, kind of just lets himself float back down. He's never had trouble swimming before and he's never been sick. I really can't afford any medicine for a goldfish, I do have some medicine for my betta fish like melafix and aquarium salt and...I think lifeguard tabs and ammonia clear. I haven't checked the ammonia levels but I did a 60% water change two days ago, and he's had his water changed before so I'm not sure if it was that that made him sick.Any advice to help the little guy?

How to Lose Weight Without Getting Saggy Skin

Recommended Answer:

I really hope you that "1gallon" is a typo and should say 10 gallons...your fish is prolly too small for the space if its a one gallon aquarium! Hes a goldfish as he grows he produces more waste thus making it impossible to keep up with the waste he is producing with water changes and such. And you should NEVER do a 60 percent water change especially if you suspect he is sick! That can stress him out and could lead to death! I have no clue how hes still even alive! If he is indeed in fact in a 10 gallon tank that's good...not great a common goldfish can get as big as 6 inches! Its starting tank is 40 gallons...yea if the goldfish has a fan like tail that's a oranda goldfish and is fine for the time being in a 10 gallon but I would recommend a upgrade SOON. Here are indeed a few answers to your question: Water Condition If you usually change 60-70 percent of the water it could mean a lot of spikes in nitrites/nitrates that can ultimately lead to this problem of the fihs sitting on the bottom. Also access ammonia in the tank I would def. recommend ammonia alert its a little gage that you stick to the side of the tank and it reads off the ammonia levels in the tank but if you just did a 60 percent water change I doubt there is much ammonia left in the tank. Go get the water tested at a petstore just to be sure if something is up ask the person who tested it what to do. Water Current If the water current from your filter is too strong it will cause the goldfish to sit at the bottom Swim Bladder DiseaseIf your goldfish has a malfunction of its swim bladder, it will cause your goldfish to sit on the bottom float upside down etc. Quick cure? Feed him shelled pees! Basically the goldfish is constipated this can happen by over feeding and such. The Pees work as a laxative. Fast him for a day then the second day start the pee diet ONLY pees do this for one more day then slowly introduce food back into his diet only if he looks better. GOOD LUCK!! • Get him a friend from the same breed and quick if he's not eating it's not good.
  • He needs a much bigger tank, goldfish need a minimum of a 10 gallon tank per goldfish, the water temp is too hot, goldfish do best art around 60-70 degree temperature, and a 60% water change is enough to shock a fish. If he lives Id get a bigger tank set up asap, and get the water tested, take a sample to petco or petsmart they water test for free. simple answer, too much water was changed, the water temp is too hot, and the tank is way too small.
  • One problem I see is the temperature you're keeping him at. Goldfish need to be in the 64-74 degree area. Anything above and their matabolism shoots up and their life is cut down.
  • Your tank is WAY TOO SMALL!!! And for a goldfish the temp should be 65-75 at most! Move him into a five gallon that will help.

Will throwing up half of your meals make you lose weight?

Like eating a healthy, normal-sized dinner with your family, and then throwing up only half (ish) of it? Would that cause substantial weight loss, or not really?

If you never binge or anything. You eat like a normal person and throw up about half.
I suppose details would be helpful: I''m not fat, I''m an injured athlete with a body fat percentage of 14, so I''m not being lazy, I''m doing the only thing I know how to do to cope, I''m trying to sabotage my own athletic career because I''m scared to death of having yet another knee surgery and rehabbing all for nothing, and I know you didn''t want a sob story but there you have one. Also, it takes me about 10x shoving my finger down my throat to get a meal up, do you really think people just bend over the toilet and the whole meal comes sliding out..

Losing Weight: The Simple Science of Losing Weight

Recommended Answer:
No, because your body would be absorbing the nutrients, and if there is fat, sugar, or starch in the food you are eating, that will IMMEDIATELY transfer in FAT. So the second it goes in, there is no turning back.

  • That wouldn''t be the best weight loss technique. It would make you anorexic
  • Just have half the portion, no throwing up involved.
  • no dont do that coz ypur body will think its starving and make u gain weight and grow long thick dark hir all over Ur body
  • not really, you just qet a bad immune and qet sick alot
  • I can''t think of a way to vomit half of a meal. But you would gain the pleasure of seeing your dentist more often because of the stomach acid eating away at your teeth.
  • It isn''t normal to throw up half of a healthy meal. The phrase "healthy meal" sort of implies that, doesn''t it?
  • BAD IDEA. No matter the reason, you should not be throwing up any meals. It''s really bad for your body and it will not help you lose weight. Besides, how exactly would you throw up only half of it anyway? Last I checked, controlling how much you throw up wasn''t an option.
Losing weight is not something you can just suddenly have happen. You have to work for it. Eating Healthy meals is important, to balance your nutrition. Throwing it up doesn''t help you at all, but eating a balanced diet will. Also, exercise is a second part. It''s a pain, I know, but it''s the only way, really. Jogging is one of the best ways, I believe, or swimming. Swimming is better because it''s fun too. It can just be hard to find a place that''s open in the colder months.
  • That''s called Bulimia, and is not healthy. You should see a doctor to discuss this.
  • no, but its the fastest way of making you sick :P
  • Sure it would and it would also ruin your gag reflex, your teeth and your esophagus. How about just use portion control. If your eating healthy I don''t see how you could have a weight problem.
  • You should drink a glass of water before you eat so then you wont be as hungry and its much healthier too so then you only eat in moderation
  • That''s bulimia. It''s very dangerous. People who try it tend to think they can control it but it ends up controlling them. There''s not way to decide how much you''re going to throw up and when you do stomach acid comes up with the food hurting you throat and eroding your teeth. You''ll wind of with skin conditions from mal-nutrition and you''ll become quite moody so nobody will want to be around you. You will start to loose your functionality, starting with you light motor skill and logic.
  • Don''t do it. It''s not worth it. Your teeth could actually rot away over time because the acids from your stomach would be constantly rotting away at your teeth. You could also die from dehydration and lack of proper nutrients.

Seriously, don''t. Just try and eat healthier and exercise an hour a day. Sure, it takes some time to get into shape, but it will be worth it when you do finally get into shape. You''ll be HEALTHY too.

how can i stop my eating addiction?

i am 13 and a little chubby. i used to b skinny like my little sister but last year whenever i was home alone i would eat a ton of junk and sneak it up to my room so my parents didn''t know. i try to stop pigging out but i can''t. it only happens when i can get to my kitchen alone. i don''t want to tell anyone especially my parents because it is embarrassing. i rlly want to look good in a bikini this summer so i need help! i made up my own diet and exersises that im trying to do but i still keep sneaking the food.

Stop Trying to Lose Weight

Omg same here! I love food but I hate it at the same time! I''ll always sneak food in my bedroom and eat it so nobody thinks I''m a fat slob or something. All you need is a little motivation... it sounds like you have EDNOS (eating disorder not otherwise specified), look it up. Maybe we could work together to lose weight? Could you email me or something? :/ I''m 5''0 tall(maybe 5''1 almost) and I weigh around 109... We could make it a contest to see who could get to their goal weight first or something. (: Hope I helped. Also, whenever you want to grab that cookie, even though it looks good infront of you, it will not look good in your stomach! lol.

  • I need point''s so just dont gey excited cuz some body answerd you .. bypass haha
  • Snack at noon 12:00. A carrot, or an apple, or an orange, or a celery. Limit yourself to 0 to 2 snacks a day.
  • Limit yourself. Don''t hide sweets in your room anymore, and when it does come to pigging out, remember what you want to look like this summer!! Have will power, that''s a very important thing when it comes to this. Would you rather have that sweet now so you can be temporarily happy or have a body you can be proud of all summer?
  • One reason people can''t stop eating is that the cells of the body remain hungry if they don''t get proper nutrition. When you start eating non-processed and organic foods, the foods you do eat will be packed with nutrition and your cells will feel hungry faster. Until they feel they have gotten their nutrition, you will always be hungry.

Also - most peoples'' bodies are not very mobile. Even if they work out, their is little flexibility in the many individual little muscles throughout the body. The intercellular fluid which brings the nutrition to the body and removes waste doesn''t move, so the body is really like a cesspool of waste.

Certain exercises promote the movement of intercellular fluid such as Pilates, Yoga and especially the Zookinesis exercises. These exercises also tone your muscles.

If you eat properly and do the proper exercises, your body will not be as hungry and will start looking great!

Did I do enough today?

Okay so I am trying to lose weight...I''m 5''9 and 135 pounds but I want to get down to 115-120.

I ate: (all vegan, from a vegan cafe)
-large plate of mashed potatoes (at least 3 scoops)
-three triangular pieces of apple-baked tempeh
-gravy on top of half, peanut sauce on the other half
and...
-one piece of Dove chocolate
-zip fizz energy drink (10cal)

For my workout, I did:
-30min on elliptical (low intensity, higher speed)
-20min jogging on track
-20min walking

Do you think I burned off that meal? I''m worried...especially about how many calories were probably in that lunch...

Lose Weight Fast - How NOT to Lose Weight Fast!

Recommended Answer:
Vegan does not mean that every food choice that remains is healthy, nutritious, or even good for weight loss. What you listed for today does not look good regrettably.

- potatoes = starch/carbs, not very nutritious either. Let me put it this way, endurance athletes (e.g. marathoners, triathletes, etc.) that do not eat grains, eat potatoes as their go-to replacement for carb loading. I do not know how much is a scoop, but anything more than one scoop sounds like overdoing it. That is not to say you should restrict what you eat, but instead I think you should eat something else as well during this meal (no vegetables are listed, or fruits).

- tempeh = awesome choice, I do not know about the quantity because I am not familiar with the portion size and the cafe you are talking about, but certainly good for protein and fiber.

- most gravies are basically nutritionless, peanut sauce must have peanuts in it which are great but only in moderation. Bear in mind that all nuts (although peanuts are technically legumes) are high in fats, and even though they are healthy fats, you have to balance your intake. I am guessing tons of sugar is in this though. Watch out for sodium too.

- the darker the chocolate the better, but candy is candy.

- I do not know what that drink is, but if you want to lose weight it is easier to cut out carbonated beverages.

What matters here is not just calories, what matters is a lot more. I really recommend you read more about how to eat healthy if you are serious about losing weight. Your sugar and sodium intake plays a huge role in your weight management as well. If you are overweight, you can lose weight just by counting calories, but if you are regular weight (or under based on your height), you would have to be unheathily drastic in your calorie deficit. If you are one of those people who sees their weight fluctuate wildly from day-to-day, the cause is likely linked to sodium consumption. You have to watch everything, not just calories.

how much you burned depends on a lot of factors, but generally for people around your weight I would guess the following figures:

- 20 minute walking ~ 60 calories
- 20 minute jogging ~ 180 calories if you were jogging at say, 5.5 mph (which is what I always see girls running at)

- 30 minute elliptical ~ 250 calories given you had low intensity (which can only mean low resistance I guess). You know, an elliptical is really only reported to be advantageous over running if you set it at a resistance high enough to make it have an effect. Otherwise, it is more like a carnival ride than it is a workout. You can feel it when you burn more or less calories, so if it felt easy, then you did not need to use that much energy (calories are a unit of energy).

If you are on machines, do not take the numbers that seriously, even if you enter in your age and weight information, machines just have poor calculations.

I would recommend you eat more veggies, fruits, and whole, unprocessed foods if you want to take advantage of a vegan diet. Beyond that, you should be taking supplements to cover all the deficits that are just so hard to fill from just a vegan diet.

It does not sound like you burned it off. Three scoops (or a large plate) worth of mashed potatoes sounds like at least 400 calories, three pieces of tempeh are appreciable, and the not-so-secret devastators of any meal are sauces/gravies.

You did not really do 70 minutes of cardio, you did 50 minutes, I do not think walking counts when you are not overweight given how little energy it takes.

Much of what you consumed sounds like empty calories. It is the empty calories that make you gain weight, those are the kinds that are wasteful for your body, so it just stores them instead of using them for anything. That is the definition of weight gain.

  • Lay off the mashed potatoes next time. They might be vegan, they''re still not healthy no matter how good they taste.
  • Whoa whoa whoa there sweet heart. If you are trying to lose weight you shouldnt be taking in that many carbs. You need to be on a high protein, low calorie plan. I am a motivation coach and I created a 30 day challenge that will definitely help you. It free so no worries, there are no risks involved (: Go to www.YoungNhealthy.com and click on the 30 day challenge tab! I hope this helps (:
  • You did an hour and 10 minutes of cardio so you probably burned off the meal, especially if you ate it before 3pm. My concern long term is that you are not using a weight training program to assist you in burning calories more efficiently & even when you are not in the gym.

    Good day, though.

You should be gaining weight during pregnancy, not losing it. The fetus needs calories to fuel growth and fat on your body cushions the womb in case you fall. Either put yourself on a high calorie diet or go to the doctor if you think you can''t do it without help/ you don''t gain weight.

Hypnosis - Lose Weight With Hypnosis Easily, Naturally & Permanently For Anyone and It Works

Recommended Answer:
You really do answer your own question.... There are no tricks...

... to lose weight a bit more 'efficiently' you could adopt the alternate day fasting (ADF), or zone diet strategy. ADF requires a person to know their daily/weekly calorie amount and then reduce that amount to create a deficit to lose weight (ie if you must eat 3000 cals daily to maintain you current weight and you wanted to lose 1kg per week for 12 weeks you would have to simply reduce your daily cals by 500 per day, and eat 2500 calories daily), with ADF you fast for two days a week and eat your weight loss calorie amount total for the remaining five days. You only eat one meal of 800 calories for breakfast on your two fast days and then zero calories for the remainder or the day, which also means no drinks or beverages that contain calories either. So... if your daily calories amount to lose weight was 2500 (2500x7 = 175000 calories you need to eat (or slightly less) per week to lose weight... if you eat 800 calories only for two days (1600 total) then the other five days you can eat more than your 2500... 2500 cals X 2 days - 5000 cals ... 1600 cals - 5000 cals = 3400, which can then be spread across the other 4 days. (3400 / 5 = 680 calories more per day) ... 2500 + 680 = 3180 calories per day!!! ... in a nutshell you eat 3180 calories per day for five days a week and 800 calories on two days; your weekly calorie amount to lose weight will still be the same (total of 17500 for the week), but the two days you fasted for will have created a larger/faster calorie loss compared to what you would have lost over a week if you had just eaten the same amount of calories each day.

The zone diet is almost the same as it uses a weekly calorie amount, but instead of having fast days, it has a different calorie amount each day. Some days are high and some are low.

The results from both diet strategies work... but with ALL diets to lose weight, you have to stick to them 100% ... doing it 99% often does not work... at the end of the day it all boils down to 'those people who know exactly what to do, and then do it... and those who know exactly what to do and choose not to do it' .... which type are you?

Good luck... ;0)
