How to Fast and Lose Weight Safely

Recommended Answer:

not sure if your a bodybuilder but Im a 21 year old nutrition major at a university and I have kind of a good knack about these kind of things. breakfast you need to eat eggs. most effective and cheap source of protein there is on the market. eat 2-3 a day maybe with a side of toast. lunch you need to stack up on more meat/sandwiches and avoid the crackers. crackers are high on salt which absorbs a lot of the natural water weight in your body. youd be surprised how much weight one can put on water alone. snacks look pretty good with yogurt, nuts, oats, etc. I recommend peanut butter in your diet.. always a great snack and high in protein. your meals are great for dinner from what I see. if you can actually eat that for lunch and dinner youll shoot up in weight quicker than you think. my ultimate tip is eat 3-4 meals a day with water CONSTANTLY. throw in fruit and veggies in there to side you meals. but ultimately try to avoid high salt like ramen noodles, chips, crackers, soda, all of that crap. if you need to take a supplement invest in whey protein or creatine powder. that being if you lift weights take those.good luck dude.

Any weight loss tricks you guys know?

Soup and salads can fill you up. Walk, ride your bike or take a bus to work. If you drink coffee use milk and sweet n lo.

Other Answers:

  • Try sweat suits.Super easy to lose weight fast, just make sure you drink alot of water because its easy to get dehydrated.
  • I was on youtube one day and saw videos about herbalife liftoff. Its a tea that you drink as a meal replacer and its supposed to keep you full most of the day. Plus tons of walking. Running is good but its hard on joints. If you fast walk it will use more leg muscles and cause you to burn calories pretty quick. Also if you want to tone try 30 mins of pilates.
  • There is no tricks, simply consume less calories than your body needs..Find out your caloric maintainence, then deduct it by 500-1000.Whatever that number is..thats howmany calories you should consume for weight loss
  • For weight loss, dieting is more effective than exercise. Reducing your intake of junk sugar will help as in items 22 and 106 in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm The natural sugars in fruits are OK as they are metabolised to glucose slowly due to their high fiber content. Fruits are low in calories and are not fattening. Most fruits are metabolism boosting foods and most vegetables as well and that helps for weight loss.

How many days of fasting until i see my stomach slim down?

im not doing this to lose weight and i know i could get fatter once i start eating again but how many days will it take before i start to look slimmer? im only eating one meal at the end of the day and i only drink water through out. i assume most of what weight i lose will be water weight.

How Does Counting Calories Help With Weight Loss?

Recommended Answer:

If you don't want to lose weight but you want to look slimmer (toner, stronger…), you should not fast but eat more to get the energy to be physically active to replace your extra body fat with muscle mass that is denser and takes 3 times less space than body fat, for the same weight. You do aerobics to lose body fat and you weight train to gain muscle mass. You would need a high carbs meal 2 hours prior a workout, to get an easy and efficient workout, and a high protein post workout meal to build up muscle mass (and don't forget your 25% of dietary fats, getting enough rest day and plenty of sleep).Your extra body fat is particularly noticeable near the belly (near the digestive system…first in, last one out system) and replacing it with a strong core (doing abs exercises like crunches, with good form so you don't get a protruding belly) will take care of you body image issue. Now…if you want to fast for purification purpose as you get super smart when you don't have to digest food and all your energy goes to your brain (or religious purpose or making some political stand and going on some “hunger strike”) you cannot eat “one meal at the end of the day”.Be aware that your metabolism will go down the drain if you have less food or no food to digest (that's the big chunk of your BMR).That would be like slow torture, being hungry and waiting for the end of the day to eat something, as your digestive system cannot go dormant if you're still eating. You'd need about 3 days for your body to stop sending you hunger signals, either that or you already have some problems connecting with your body signals (like having some ED). And, yes, you would lose mostly water weight if you drink water without food. The human body is 75% water for newborn, 60% for adult males (they have more heavy dense water muscle mass), 55% for female, 50% for overweight people, 45% for obese people. The more water you drink, the more you dehydrate as you flush out the sodium that would enable you to retain water and stay properly hydrated.Marathoners are trained to spot other marathoners who fall down, not from exhaustion after running for several hours, but because they drank too much water (instead of sports water with carbs and sodium) and got an electrolytes brain imbalance, so they need immediate medical care.Runners and other athletes can get some water in their mouth, to relieve the dryness caused by heavy breathing, but should spit it out and not swallow it.In France, during the Tour de France, you actually get pride when a magnificent world known bicyclist spits out his water on you!!Seriously, some stupid teens die doing water drinking contests and getting electrolytes imbalance and brain damage.Besides losing water weight, you would also lose food/waste weight, obviously.I lost about 3 pounds of waste, once, when having to empty my intestines for a medical exam but I did not lose water weight as I only drank Gatorade (which contains carbs and sodium). After my exam, it took me 5 days to refill my intestines and regain those 3 pounds.

  • What are you trying to do? Ruin your health? You know what is sexy? Sparkling good health and a big smile.Eat three sensible meals with tons of veggies, a little whole grain, and a little lean meat, and two fruit snacks a day. Exercise.
  • I'm doing a fasting for a month. Alright ill wake up really early in the morning eat a nice balanced breakfast and that's it I don't eat anything till like 8:00-9:00 .no water no nothing . (I sleep through out the day) when it comes time for me to eat ill eat what ever I want.. But nothing crazy that's really greasy or fattening.. When I'm waiting for morning to arrive ill usually eat a protein bar some chips drink lots of water and sometime junk food.. And repeat for a whole month :) Iv lost over 5lbs and I don't have a belly flab/muffin handles any more :) and I dnt wen exercise. But that's how my body handles it . Yours may act completely different! Like completely . Just depend on your body type .
  • If you don't eat for a number of days then your body WILL go into a Hibernation mode and just keep your body ticking over as it thinks that the food sauce has come to an end. It a primal thing, so eat less and do more 'Exercise'

Is losing 30 pounds realistic for a 15 year old girl in a 3 month time span?

Alright, so lately I''ve been feeling more & more self conscience since starting my freshman year in high school. I''ve gone to a private school my whole life with only 8 kids, and now I go to a huge public school. I actively play basketball and tennis. Now I am 191 pounds & 5''11. I''ve always been heavier, and I''m willing to accept that I won''t be a size 0 or 2, but I''m concerned about my health. Not only that but next year I am going to be on Varsity Basketball and don''t want my weight to become an issue. Summer basketball starts June 27th and I''m really hoping I can shed some pounds. Does anyone have tips in which will help lose weight & help me jump higher?

(I''m looking for more specific diet plans, workout exercises, and tips.)
Thanks!

How to Lose Weight Fast: 14 Things You Can Do to Lose Weight Quickly!

Recommended Answer:
It is impossible to lose 22 pounds in 30 days. It will give you attest 3 months to lose all of that weight.

  • I think you should lose more like 40 lbs but yes, 10 lbs/mo is ideal. A good diet/exercise plan would be:

Breakfast: Cook 9-grain cereal (from health food store) in water with rolled oats and wheat bran. Make a big pot of it on weekends and scoop out 1/2 cup each morning. Add low fat milk, nuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine. Breakfast should be your largest meal of the day to raise blood sugar level which falls during the night.

Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey ½ sandwich on whole grain bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts and yogurt w/fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich on whole grain bread (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham, or beef stew.

Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit: banana, orange, apple, kiwi, grapes, peach, nectarine, cherries, pineapple. No chips and nothing ever from a vending machine.

Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, green or red peppers, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it.

Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.
Or grilled fish with steamed veggies.

Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and green or red peppers.

Foods to avoid: junk food, fast foods, pastries, desserts, sugar, salty foods, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fat/grease (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza, chips, fries), pasta, potatoes, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream, soda, chips. And of course no tobacco or alcohol in any form. Both of those add wrinkles and destroy your brain. No oil except olive and mac nut. Coffee also rots your brain.

To keep your skin clear, drink water. Veg. juice is good too. But not canned juice (too much sugar.)

Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment. Go hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming...play tennis, badminton, volleyball, soccer..

If you lack energy to exercise, take Super B complex.
To lose weight, try an appetite suppressant.
  • Sure. But keep in mind, the more you lose the more weight loss slows down. Your BMR will lower and you won''t burn as many calories during exercise/activity. You may lose 10 lbs your first month, maybe 8-10 your next month, 5-8 your 3rd month and so on.

You can use sparkteens.com to track your calories, fitness and they provide optional healthy and balanced meal plans for people just getting starting. They also have fitness videos and a workout generator. An active community with on site dietitians/personal trainers. It''s a great site. I use their adult one and have lost 55 lbs in 7-8 months.

The Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest and most approved diets out there.
  • Hey Hanna,

Alright so you have basically the whole summer to lose 30lbs. It''s VERY possible!

Exercise: take a 10-20 minute walk/jog every-other day, going a bit longer each time
and on the days your not walking do some simple stretches, lunges, push-ups, and crunches.

Diet: ok so your 15, you really don''t need a diet but more better food options
Smoothies are great! (just DO NOT add sugar) the fruits have enough sugars already trust me.
you could also try...salads...which I know are gross but if you add dressing their actually quite tasty.

and lastly watch how much your consuming If you exercise all the time but pig out during every meal you''ll never get anywhere. Hope this helped and Goodluck!

How to maintain a healthy weight?

I lost a lot of weight like 6 months ago I would say around 60 pounds. && I weighed myself this morning and I''m gainning all that weight back! I know the basic stuff ; eat right, work out. Is there anything else I can do that will help me?
&& plus; I have been eating a lot too. I get a big plate or a normal size bowl but I pile the food up in a bowl. I did get some fruits but somehow, I lost interest in it lately. I really actually don''t know what to put on my plate exactly to have a good, filling meal. When I go to the store, you might think I''m crazy but I don''t understand the food labels at all, it confuses me... Usually they have on the food label a 2,000 based calorie thingy. Plus I don''t even know how much Calories I''m suppost to have based on my age and height. My age is 17 (turning 18 in August) and my recent height is 5''2 in a half.
I did try to research it but I don''t really understand it. So I was wondering, could anyone please clearify all this to me. I would really appreciate it.

10 Biggest Mistakes Made When Trying to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
I''m on birth control and I have been for a few years. It was my biggest concern to gain weight. I spoke to the doctor about it a lot. It doesn''t make you gain weight. It''s harder to lose weight that''s all. So you''re not gaining weight from being on it but it''s your lifestyle e.g. not enough exercise, eating rubbish foods.

So if you were slim before, the only thing that''s making you overweight is your lifestyle. That''s the reality it''s a common myth you can talk to your doctor about it too.

To answer your question the way to maintain a healthy weight on birth control is to maintain a healthy lifestyle whereas before walking about might have been enough to keep the weight off. Now it''s more difficult you might have to throw in 30mins cardio a week everyday etc

ok to anyone that beleaves eating a 1300 calorie diet is to little read this artical?

i just got told by adrian bryant a american athlete, personal trainer, fitness author, blogger and entrepreneur that i could eat 1300 calories a day in exercise but he recommends exercising before eating now this is a guy that really knows his stuff on fitness in for anyone that beleaves that you would go into starvation mode at 1300 like i said look at this artical http://www.nowloss.com/starvation-mode-myth.htm then tell me what you think

Walking to Lose Weight - Fitness Tips For Any Season

Recommended Answer:
No, he's just dispelling the myth of 'starvation mode', which basically implies you do not lose body fat when you eat too little. The reality is you most certainly do lose body fat, but you also lose large amount of lean (muscle) mass, as is evident from the photos in the article of the starving men. I personally would rather lose weight gradually, maintain as much lean mass as possible, and look fit and healthy rather than a concentration camp victim. Eating 500 calories below maintenance is what is recommended for fat loss. That means for the average man who burns roughly 2500 calories a day, 2000 calories will result in a loss of 1lb fat per week. The average woman who burns around 2000 calories a day can lose 1lb per week on 1500 calories a day.
