I *love* chia seeds. Add them to everything. You won't notice them in anything but it adds bulk (that is mostly water) add to sugar free yoghurt, tuna salad, soups, stews, whatever.I add chia seeds to Walker Banana Cream Diet Meal Replacement Drink which is only 1g net carbs, is delicious & makes an awesome pudding from vitacost.com Vitacost is also the cheapest source I've found for vitamin D3 & vitC - you can also get chia seeds http://www.vitacost.com/Referee?wlsrc=rsReferral&ReferralCode=2287858I add ground flax seed, chia seed or raw sunflower seeds to about everything. They are all incredibly nutritious. Chia seeds swell up when soaked and remind me of tapioca with a strawberry seed inside. They really have no taste but I love the texture. No whole grain compares on a nutritional level, and it has an Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) that is greater than blueberries on a per-gram basis (80 micromole TE/d). I let them sit on the counter to soak for 12 hours this germinates them and raises the ORAC level 2.5x higher.I think they are much more nutritious raw and add them to salads & tuna as well as making faux tapioca regularly. I also add them to cooked food for bulk but prefer to use flax seed for cooked food. Flax seed has a slight taste to it but chia seed is tasteless so it doesn't change the flavor of foods the way flax seed would. In Mexico, they add chia seed to lemonade and call it chia fresca and it is addicting. 1# of chia seeds will make 10# food. I make a "porridge" as suggested by Dr.Mercola with low carb whey powder & water, I add ground flax seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, coconut milk, tahini (ground sesame seeds) & raw egg. All seeds & nuts are raw & soaked to germinate them. Chia seeds - 3.5 oz is nearly 500 calories, half calories from fat (high in Omega3 fatty acids) 38g fiber 151%DV & 16grams of COMPLETE protein for 6grams carbs & 70%DV Magnesium - 63% DV Calcium - 144% Selenium - 95% Phosphorus - 23% Zinc - 9% Copper - 108% Manganese - 36% Iron - 14% potassium and the same vitamins found in flax seeds.I make a green drink with spirulina, chlorella, wheat grass, kelp & turmeric with raw apple cider vinegar & raw honey (or lemon juice & stevia) & add rehydrated chia seed gel & drink this all day.I'll make a salad with canned foods: mackerel & or sardines, spinach or collard greens, baby corn, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, artichoke hearts, sweet red peppers & add mayo, chia seed gel & sometimes soaked sunflower seeds. Lately I've been mixing in cod liver oil to virgin coconut oil & adding in soy sauce & miso before adding mayo & all the other items.Faux tapioca - 2 cups of water, 5 scoops of low carb whey protein powder, stir together & add cup of chia seeds, after they have started to absorb the water, add in 2 cans of coconut milk & sweetener if you like and mix it all in. Can be eaten after an hour but will be better tomorrow. Cream a pkg. of cream cheese into a can of pumpkin and add to the faux tapioca for an even more nutritious pumpkin pie pudding.Ground flax seed or chia seeds (4 Tbsp) 1/4 cup water, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg - let sit 10 min. to absorb liquid, put some cream cheese in the middle & nuke 2 minutes. • I eat chia seeds a couple times a week. They can be used in smoothies, yogurt, granola, oatmeal, etc. They also can be used to replace eggs in recipes! If you take 1 tsp of chia and add to it 3 tsp of water and let it set for 5 minutes it becomes an egg like consistency. Chia is supposed to be good for energy. I have never eaten them plain so I am not sure you want to try that, but I have tried them in what I listed above and use it to replace eggs in many baked goods and some meals. You can include them in a Pre-Workout smoothie so you will benefit from the energy they give you. For example, blend 1 cup frozen fruits, 1 cup juice or liquid of your choice, and 1/2 cup yogurt with a serving of chia for a smoothie.

How to look thinner in loose clothing?

I'm fourteen and care very little about my appearance. I see pajamas and every day clothes as equals and my main concern is comfort. The only thing that bothers me is my weight. I'm a little it chubby, and most of my excess weight is in my belly. It's not a lot of weight at all, but the fact that it's all accumulated in one place and the fact that I wear shapeless tee shirts really makes my abdomen look fat and it looks weird. It helps to cut the shirts so the bottom meets my pants/skirt, so that you can see my legs better and it doesn't blend into a weird misshapen mess, but I'd really like to know if I can do anything more. I'm in the process of losing weight, already 15 pounds down, but in the meantime I'd like to see if I can fix my problem. I look fine from the front, but it's really my profile that looks awful, because the shirt hangs down and is loose, so it hangs off my boobs and goes straight down, and the same for my shoulders, so from the side I look so top heavy it's not even funny... anyway, It's not a huge thing... I'm just extremely self conscious about my weight for some reason and would like to fix it the best I can.

But you can look good and stylish and still be comfortable. there are millions of articles and stuff to help. Trust me, I used to wear jeans and a t-shirt everyday. not cute t-shirts, just normal t-shirts. and then I started just wearing cuter clothes and i felt better about myself, but I'm alays really comfy.

Fast, cleanses, and detoxes don't work so don't waste your time. Here's what the experts have to say...the real experts, not the kooks."Detox" is short for detoxification and detoxification is a natural process involving your liver and kidneys and there is nothing you can do to effect it. It is impossible to detoxify a human once the toxin is in the blood with the possible exception of kidney dialysis, kelation therapy, and other expensive medical modalities. Currently "detox" is a faddist word, relatively meaningless, and is used to express that which the users cannot otherwise express because of ignorance or because the expression would be patently false.Detox diets, cleanses, and supplements don't work. There is no diet which will cause your body to get rid of toxins, heavy metals, poisonous by-products from smoking, drugs, etc. And cleanses for the purpose of weight loss don't work because they can only eliminate water and small amounts of waste which the body will replace very quickly. Check out these reliable references. Listen to experts, not a random bunch of strangers of unknown credibility in this and other forums. Here's what the experts have to say about cleanses. Article excerpt: "Colon Cleansing Has No Health Benefit, May Harm"Ref: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_114876.htmlArticle excerpt: "Although the reports show little evidence of any benefit, many studies reported side effects. If you 're generally healthy, stick to giving your body what it needs to maintain its own detox system— a healthful diet, adequate fluid intake, regular exercise, sufficient sleep, and all recommended medical check-ups. Don' waste your money...follow a healthy, balanced lifestyle instead."Ref: http://www.lee-county.com/gov/dept/HumanResources/Wellness_Newsletters/Aug%2008.pdfArticle excerpt: "A day on a detox diet program probably won't hurt you, but there's little point in following these restrictive diets - and they can do far more harm than good, says Michelle May, MD,"Ref: http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=64306Article excerpt: "Detox diets are a waste of time and money, say scientists"Ref: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article784402.eceYour body cleanses itself naturally. And cleanses, purges, emetics, enemas, alternative and homeopathic colon cleanses etc. cannot remove fat from your body or make your body lose fat and/or toxins. If fat is your problem, you're eventually going to realize that nothing works except a proper diet for life or surgery. The best diet for all normal adults hasn't changed. It is still a varied, balanced, nutritious, and properly apportioned diet of high quality foods. Detoxification is a fad and a fantasy only. If you have reason to believe you're toxic, consult with your doctor. Don't waste your time paying attention to advertising hype, naturopathic gurus, homeopathic charlatans, etc. The road to good health is paved with science. If you or someone you love gets deathly ill, you will take them to a place where medical science is practiced. So, where is the sense in abandoning medical science in favor of baseless and unscientific methods of quacks and charlatans. Good luck and good health!!♠

Why haven''t I had my period?

Okay so I''m 6 days late for my period. I''ve never really had sex, but I took a pregnancy test just to be sure. It came back negative. So I''m just wondering why I''m so late? I know stress can delay it, but I haven''t been stressed about it until recently. I''ve felt like I''m about to have it for a day or two, but it hasn''t came yet. I don''t have a doctor, and I''m only 17. I have lost weight recently, I didn''t know if that would effect it or not. Does anyone know what could be wrong?
I am so scared. I''ve never really had sex, but we did play around (underwear was on the whole time) and he didn''t ejaculate!! Am I over reacting? PLEASE HELP!

Staying Motivated to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Please calm down. First of all, there is no need to take a pregnancy test since it is near impossible to become pregnant if you have never had sex. Second, I think you need to stop stressing about it, because sometimes periods can be delayed, especially if you are young. Sometimes you skip a month, other times you don''t. Lastly, weight loss should not really impact your periods unless you have lost a noticeable amount of weight, and/or are malnourished.

  • you dont have enough fat on you, youve lost so much weight that your body cant produce what is needed to go through puberty (period). thats why you havent had your period
  • To much stress can delay your period, just relax & calm down it will come

If laxative tea doesn''t work why have I lost real weight?

I had some problems with "you know what" so it was recommended I try a herbal remedy (a.k.a laxative tea, smooth move). Anyways I was NOT trying to loose weight with it, so please so speeches about that. However, when I recently stepped on the scale I noticed a significant drop. So anyways I did some research and found that laxative tea won''t help with real weight loss, but will only make you loose water weight. Knowing this I measured myself and I saw actually changes (deductions) in my figure all over. I haven''t changed anything about my diet and exercise so I am confused on how I lost all this weight. If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful.
Thank you

Best Weight Loss Diet - Why Eating Healthy is a Far More Effective Way to Lose Weight Than Fad Diets

Recommended Answer:
You didn''t lose real weight. You just released a lot of waste you had been holding onto when you were constipated and that looks like less weight on the scale. Because you''re no longer bloated your pants and tops fit better and your midsection appears to be slimmer.

  • "Water weight" is from extra water in your body tissue. Saline or osmotic laxatives draw water from your tissues and put it into your digestive system and send it out your rear end. This does cause some weight loss which is only temporary and will come back once your GI system returns to normal.

Lose Weight in 24 Hours - 4 Easy Tips to Losing Weight Fast

Recommended Answer:
The healthiest way to loose weight is to have 6 small meals a day. This is the way people are supposed to eat so it doesn''t stretch out your stomach and make you want more food. I started using this method a while ago and It really works. A balance of healthy eating and exercise is a great way to lose weight. So here it goes:
6 times a day (every 2-3 hours)
-fist size amount of protein
-fist size amount of healthy carbs(try to avoid non-natural sugars and processed foods)
2 times a day:
-fist size amount of veggies
Once a day:
-1 tbs unsaturated oil
-drink 10 cups of water (not all at once though)
-have a multi vitamin
Then, the excersise:
-train with weights (no more that 45 mins a week)
-preform at least 30 mins of aerobic excersise 3 times a week
-take it easy on one day of the week.

Hopefully this helps ;)

  • 1. Spell right
    2. Eat right
    3. Exercise right
  • That''s extraordinarily unhealthy and almost not possible.

Plus, it depends on your height.
  • It''s not dieting that you should worry about, I eat anything I want and I''m still thin.. This is because I exercise :-) Literally once a day (I usually do it at night) have a 30 minute exercise routine where you build up a sweat and then you''ll start burning off fat. I do sit-ups (20, 4 times), press ups (as many as you can) and what ever else I feel like which is body fat burning. Sometimes I look up on youtube different exercise work outs and they''re always about 30 minutes.

This way you can lose the pounds and don''t have to control your eating habits as much as you would on a diet.

What is a healthy weight for a 6''1 female and how can I get there?

Okay, So I am 19 years old, African American, around 6''1 and about 200 pounds. I have a "large frame". I wouldn''t consider myself horribly over-weight. The "extra" is pretty much just in the stomach and arms, which I have gotten really good at concealing. People are shocked when I tell them how much I weigh and they say the weight is because I''m tall. (But I know my deep dark secret. haha) I actually lost around 20 pounds in the last 7 months. Not by choice really, only because I now live off campus and have to power walk a mile to the bus stop 2-4 times a day(because I live in the mountains, the walk is mostly up hill) with a 30-40 lb backpack. I feel like I should have lost more, but my weight just seems to teeter around 200-202.
It''s a little hard to keep my diet in check. I''m constantly on the go (and your typical "broke" college student ;) ) so I grab a banana in the morning and if I forget or don''t have time to pack something I usually skip meaIs until I get home in the evening, or I give in and grab a slice of pizza or a gyro. I don''t even drink soda once in a week...maybe every other. But I do binge on orange juice(might be a problem?)- Not the best diet, I know.
Any ideas for a poor big girl, who''s ready to squeeze in the time to take care of herself?

How to Lose Weight - Don''t Lose Your Sleep and You''ll Lose Your Weight

Recommended Answer:
Around 160lbs is a healthy weight for your height, but that also depends on your body composition. You may have a muscular frame, so give or take 5 pounds. Anyway, the best thing for you to do is drink a gallon of water a day. Seems like your walk is about all the exercise you really need. Keep that up.
Also, plan your meals the night before. Its okay to skip a meal, but you need to skip the later one (dinner) rather than the ones in the middle of the day. You want to get your calories eaten by 6 or 7pm. Drink water and eat fruit after that if needed. But the biggest key is the water. It flushes your system and allows your digestion to be better, and helps increase your metabolism. Oh, and the orange juice (although it has vitamin c that is good for you) is FULL OF SUGAR and calories. So, limit how much you drink. You may want to switch to grapefruit juice instead. I''m sure you can do it. Drink the water, you will see a transformation in a few months.

  • Anywhere in between 142 - 180 pounds.
  • I believe 150-190lb is the healthy range. To lose weight, you need to reduce calorie intake by about 500 per day. So let''s say you burn 2500 calories in a typical day (with a moderately active lifestyle), if you consume 2000 calories a day, you should lose approx 1lb of fat per week. Hope this helps.

  • do some weights, maybe some cardio
  • Yeah thats healthy you could even put on more weight and it´d still be healthy
