what are the chances i will lose weight?

i'm sixteen and i'm overweight. do teenagers usually lose weight once they move out of their parents place?@Dgafyou don't have to be an ass.plus, can you not read? i cannot purchase a treadmill because i'm sixteen. does your brain have full functionality, or can you not use deductive reasoning? i asked a simple question, that is even a simple "yes" or "no" question, and you are even struggling to answer this question with a valid thesis. plus, it seems you have absolutely no empathy for another human being. i actually was only having a moment of insecurity, but you certainly cleared that up, moron. actually, you should be a best answer due to how great i feel right now.

How to Workout to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

I'm done with my weight loss journey and completely happy with how I feel and how I look right now however losing weight is a challenge for anyone and even losing 5 pounds and keeping it off isn't an easy task. Also I bet you didn't know that 5 pounds of fat is about the size of 8 cheese burgers? That alone should be enough to make anyone want to get on the ball and start a change for the better. Weight loss can be really easy to learn but the problem is nobody wants to put the required effort that is needed to actually do it, instead people continually look for (easy) ways to do it. If there was an easy way to lose weight I don't think 35% of Americans would be obese. There was a time when I also wanted to lose weight and was tired of starting diets only to lose motivation and give up just a few weeks later after seeing no results. However, let me tell you it is literally one of the easiest things you will ever learn once you find a good and reputable place to learn it from and I say that only because the world is filled with magic diet pills, liquid flush diets and a thousand other quick fixes that promise xx pounds of weight loss in the first week and even though it is impossible they know you're going to do it because your desperate. I have probably tried every diet pill, liquid flush diet, and ab rocket machine known to man and have had no success with any of them nor do I know anyone that has ever had any success with them. I have also tried starving myself which works very well for the first few weeks' right before your metabolism comes to a complete stop and eating just the tiny bit makes you gain weight and you end up weighing more than you did before you started starving yourself. Companies promote weight loss to make money not to get people healthy again and that's because they know you're not going to be a customer and buy their products if you're no longer fat.http://fatlossfacctor.info is a site I want you to go to when you have 10 or 20 minutes to spare and I want you to sit down and watch his video on weight loss. He helps people every day to lose weight I have never seen someone as committed as him and that will go so far out of his way to help someone. His weight loss program is one of the best I have ever had the enjoyment of doing and it is without doubt the best success I have ever had with any weight loss program. I also couldn't be happier with my body right now and I have never felt this wonderful in my whole life. In the end you just got to remember to stick with it and stay confident in yourself and in no time you can achieve the results you have always wanted. It's not hard to lose weight but most people have a hard time staying motivated and 9 times out of 10 it was because they weren't really committed from the beginning. Anyways I hope I helped you and I hope you make the commitment to change your body and life. Remember it's not easy to take the first step but you did, you're here right now taking it and the rest of the steps will fall into place. Have a wonderful day.

Other Answers:

  • you think people lose weight just from moving outi can tell by your question how unmotivated and lazy and how unwilling you are to fix your obesity problem. get on a treadmill, stop eating like a pig and actually DO something to lose weight
  • From stress or loneliness, yes. Otherwise there will be no difference. The best option you can consider is doing exercise and cutting off sugar and fatty food.

Am I trying to lose TOO much?

I''m 15 years old, 5 feet and four inches. I weigh about 186.5, and my bmi is at about a 32 (which is at obesity level) and my goal is to be about 110 lbs. which is at a 18.9 bmi.

I wanna try to achieve this by August. Am I trying to lose too much? Is it unhealthy?

Plus, what are some good ways to lose weight?

Here''s a picture of me from about a year ago, I haven''t lost or gained any weight since then.

How to Lose Weight Naturally - You''ll Wonder Why You Didn''t Lose Before

Recommended Answer:
BMI is a horrible way to measure fatness, It is scientifically nonsensical.
It''s really better by far to go by "body fat %" (the Ideal BF% being about 20% for a woman)

although it might be difficult to achieve, it is a fairly safe time frame for that amount of weight(losing at a rate of 2.5 - 3lbs a week)

as far as how to lose fat the first thing you''ll need to do is learn to count calories and clean up your diet so here''s a good resource for that: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

Other than that I''d also recommend a basic exercise plan

Army rangers question?

I have been thinking about joining the army.
Really interested in trying out for ranger school. Not exactly sure how it works, but do you sign up for the military and be able to try out for it, or do you have to already be in the army for a certain amount of time before you can try for it.
I have been working out for a while now, and I wont sign up until I am physically ready for it. What are some ways I can prepare myself physically before signing up? I''m new to this idea so still trying to think of what I should prepare for.

Also, I am only a greencard holder, not a citizen yet. Will that be a problem?
Thanks in advance everybody!

Lose Weight the Right Way and Keep it Off

Recommended Answer:
First of all your physical preparations are way too far out for anything you''ll be able to benefit from in Ranger school. I went into the Army in the best shape of my life but with the way BCT is structured now you hardly get to run and the workouts are a joke. Top that off with the fact that kids have gone soft and file complaints every time they get smoked and you create an environment where those who go in great shape end up coming out in average shape at best. That being said don''t slack on PT before going in. Your best way in would be to go in beast shape, blow the PT tests out of the water and show the Drills you aren''t a S%#tbag and be offered a chance to go to RASP. In that case if you pass and do well afterwards you''d definitely be able to go to Ranger school at either PFC or SPC.

If you don''t get a chance to go through RASP you will proceed from BCT to your unit and when you "go" to Ranger school (if you go at all) will be determined by your unit. They pick who they send and when they send them so you will have little control over this. All you can do is work hard and try your best while expressing your interest in going and hope that someone cares enough about your career to take the time and set you up with a slot for Ranger school. As I said before there is no set timeline for this so its impossible to give you an answer. Could be a few months, could be never.

Final route is become an officer (not going to list all the ways to do that you can read somewhere else) and go Infantry as your branch. After IBOLC if you pass everything that is required of you, you will 100% get a chance to go. You also won''t have to complete a pre-ranger course although IBOLC is sort of a pre-ranger course in and of itself.

Can''t answer your greencard question but I believe you can obtain citizenship through joining the Army... don''t hold me to that.

Also to that garbage above by some of these bro''s who aren''t Rangers. Rope climbing? Really? If you can''t climb a rope already don''t even bother trying to be a Ranger. As for swimming if you are a decent swimmer you will be fine the swim test is a joke and is more about conquering your fear of heights if you have one. Honestly the run to and from the pond is harder than the swim test especially if you put all your junk in a trash bag. (You''ll see when you get there what I mean) I''m sure these other guys would tell you if they''d gone to Ranger school but they either haven''t or probably failed in the first week. As for weight training I lift weights 6 times a week. While sure this might not help with what I did in Ranger school you need to remember the Rangers are a fraternity. Do you want some yoked guy joining your fraternity or Baby arms McGee? See my point... Either way you will come out looking like a starving child. I personally lost 30 pounds (205 to 175) but it comes back quick.

Finally you don''t try out for Ranger school unless I was just too awesome and missed the sign for "Ranger School Tryouts". As I said before you have to express interest and prove yourself then your unit sends you. Not oh hey lets send everybody who wants to go to survival island to fight to the death. Winner goes to Ranger school. Although I might have just thought of a great idea. At best you''ll be competing with guys from your immediate unit who want to go but its usually not an issue because either not that many people want to go or not that many people want to do the work to send their soldiers.

....I keep reading more of these responses and finding garbage so here comes some more

You do not need to be Airborne qualified to go to Ranger. In fact if you can avoid it do so and go to Airborne after. It will be one less thing to worry about getting injured doing, especially considering the fact Florida''s drop zone was as hard as pavement and covered in thorn bushes.

Also to Mr. Full Battle Rattle up there who probably doesnt even know what that means, thats a terrible idea. Save your knees as much as possible before and especially your back. You can ruck to prepare but don''t go killing yourself because Ranger school is a grind and it all adds up.

Finally I believe the last point I need to respond to is that they have programs to get you ready? Are you kidding me guy? They expect you even in pre ranger to be fully ready and capable to go. They don''t get you in shape they give you a gut check and then make sure you aren''t mentally challenged and aren''t wasting the time of 4th 5th or 6th RTB. You better show up in shape to pass Ranger school to the pre-Ranger course or I promise you won''t make it through...as you shouldn''t if thats what you really try to pull.

BAM

  • You can ask you''re recruiter about ranger school and have him find ways to get you into ranger school after basics or whatever time he can get you. You don''t have to be in the army for a certain time to be allowed into the course. There are a lot of 2nd Lt.''s and Privates who go. You also don''t have to wait to be physically ready. Usually, you are sent to preparation programs and are given time to prepare with other soldiers and instructors who will prepare you. Its best to just join anyways cause'' there are many workouts in the military that can help you. Workouts like putting on full battle rattle and walking or running with your buddies on a path that goes around base. Also, there are requirements like going to airborne school (I think) and other stuff.

Being a green card holder is fine cause the military helps you get citizenship.
  • It isn''t a problem that you are just a greencarder holder, as you can join the Rangers with the green card aswell.
Firstly, you have to be an Army Corp before signing up for Ranger School. You need to get through Basic Training, ofc before that, take the ASVAB. After getting your Basic Training you will be named a fully graded soldier of the U.S Army. The most important thing is that you have to apply for the "Army", not the Navy or others, because Rangers are the best light infantry forces in the world, and they are recruiting only from the Army.
Also try to score the best marks at your APFT and others, because Rangers don''t accept every Army Man who applied for the Ranger School.

For your preparations(Fitness Trainings), make a schedule. This schedule must be an priority for you and you should respect it. Make push-ups, sit-ups etc. as you''ll need a great resistance. Start swimming, and swim not occasionally, but everyday if you can.
Go and start rope climbing because this is another main task you''ll meet. Also go at the gym and start lifting weights, but don''t get too shaped because this won''t help you, it will just make your trainings harder.

Well this is what I will start doing from this summer, hope this helps bud'', and wish you luck!:)
  • Ranger School is an Advanced Combat Leadership school. You can NOT enlist for it and you can NOT do it out of basic unless you are one of the very very few 11x OSUT soldiers that get selected to go.

Why should I become a vegetarian?

I''ve been thinking of becoming a vegetarian, but what are some of the benefits? Why did you become a veggie head? I don''t like eating beef to begin with, it just doesn''t do anything for my taste buds. Also I''ve been losing alot of weight, not in a very healthy way either, but that''s besides the point, i want to continue losing weight but in a healthier way. Thank you!

How to Lose Weight Without Losing Meat - The Weight Loss Program For Meat Lovers

Recommended Answer:
If you want to become a vegetarian, do it for the health reasons but also for the inhuman way that the animals are treated.
First the health benefits are endless because meat has been proven to cause many different diseases. I would look this up on google, here''s a good article to start from http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/meatless-meals/my00752

It can also cause many disease http://www.heimat-fuer-tiere.de/english/articles/med/meat_makes_you_sick.shtml

But also cutting out meat is something people do because the animals are treated so terribly. I recently saw the movie Vegetated and it shows the unjust ways that animals are treated, I would suggest for you to look into it!

Another thing that is important is the environmental problems that the farm factories cause. This link describes a bunch of that http://www.gracelinks.org/265/environment

Lastly, heres a video explaining a bunch of the animal cruelty and the health benefits, as well as what you can eat a stuff like that. If you don''t want to see anything too graphic DON''T WATCH THIS! or at least just skip to the part after the animal cruelty part! It is really graphic I have to tell you!
http://www.hiddenfaceoffood.com/

Good luck! And always remember that becoming healthy should always come before losing weight. Nobody will ever successfully lose weight and benefit themselves from not being healthy. It will never last unless you live your life in a healthy way!

  • If you hate eating meat and despise the fact that animals are used for humans to eat then I suggest you become a vegan.

On the bright side, this will help you control what you eat and will give you perfect nutrition, although you might not always reach your daily amount of carbohydrates and protein
  • One of the benefits of you becoming a vegetarian is that there''s more steak and cheese burgers for me.
  • Because vegetarian food tastes the best! There are a lot of good environmental and ethical points to be made for the vegetarian diet, but the simplest answer is that it just tastes better. To lose weight and be healthy, you want to eat plenty of legumes, veggies, and whole grains, and keep the junk food minimal. Best of luck!
  • To avoid funding (as much) slaughter of sentient beings,
to abstain from (as much) environmental putrification which threatens all life on Earth with the near-term prospect of runaway climate change as driven by animal factory farming.

Why am I not losing weight?

I''ve being going to the gym for a month now, and have been given an excellent program designed for me. I burn at least 500kcal every second day, but usually more, and more often. This is done doing both weights and cardio. I have a BMR around 1650, and have been told to eat 1500kcal a day. I''ve stuck to it religiously. In theory, I should have lost weight, or at least lost fat and put on muscle, but I haven''t seen any changes in me at all. What is it that I''m missing?

I am a 5''3", 175lbs, 21yo female who desperately wants to be 45lbs lighter.

How to Lose Weight Really Fast in 3 Easy Steps

Recommended Answer:
1st I applaud you for the ambition and desire to lose weight. I lost 45 pounds in 19 months. I don''t do gyms or whatnot. All I did is consume 500 less calories than I eat. I also try to walk 2 to 3 miles a day. I''m also not in a hurry to lose the weight. It took me 10 years to gain 60 pounds and I expect to take 3 years to take it all off.

Losing weight involves a lifestyle change, will power, and above all patience. Not just a change in diet and not repetitions at some gym. If you try to do it too fast your body will go into some type of survival mode and you will get weird cravings for food and crash the diet and binge.

Some facts here. Each pound of body fat is about 3500 calories. 500 calorie deficit a day would take 7 days to lose a pound. Just that alone will allow you to lose 45 pounds in 45 weeks. Muscle weighs more than fat so if you are working out and building muscle while losing weigh you could see slower results from that too. Your body requires more calories at 175 pounds to maintain that weight than it needs at 130 pounds so if you are currently consuming 2500 calories now just to maintain that weight and you cut your food intake to 2000 calories as you lose weight you should keep decreasing your calorie intake proportionally to keep losing weight. There are charts on the internet that can help. Just search for them. As exercising for me goes, I burn only 450 calories in a 3 mile walk in the cold wet snow. It''s easier for me to just give up the 400 calorie pop tart. Take an account of what your average day''s caloric intake is from the types of food you are eating and go online and find a chart of your body''s daily calorie requirements are and do some simple math to figure out how much food to reduce. Then just make smaller portions of what you are eating now. One of the things I got into while on a weight loss diet regimen was to start making my own food from fresh ingredients. I made myself work for my calories instead of buying mass produced crap loaded with artificial and preserved whatever. I also take a break from the diet and maintain a weight for several months or even let it go back up a tad before starting again. I do this so I relieve stress on my body. My thinking is that when I''m losing weight my body is actually consuming itself to make up the deficit. I want to give it a break to rest. Notice my weight loss scheme involves mostly what I consume and not much about exercise? Exercising is ok, I consider those calories lost a bonus but as I stated before I get greater and faster benefit just cutting out some of the crap I eat.

Next is to make sure you are eating a balanced diet. Not too many carbs and sugars and too few meats or vice versa. Stay away from sugars and stay well hydrated. Drink a lot of water. Can''t stress that enough.

Last part and probably the most important is the psychological aspect of dieting and weight loss. If you adjust your consumption of calories as above with a healthy well balanced diet with some exercise you will ajust to it pretty easily. Kind of like a set it and forget it once the routine is established. Don''t make your weight loss objective such a priority of your life to a point where you are constantly thinking about it. Not only will that cause you unnecessary stress and anxiety it will depress you. Just relax and enjoy life while your doing it and don''t worry about it. You''ll get there.

  • U could be gaining musclet at same time so the loss I weight is not showing try taking measurements
  • Mix up your calories every now and then. If you constantly eat 1500kcal per day, drop it down to 1400kcal for a week or so. You need to keep tricking your body so it won''t get stuck in a rut. The same thing happened to me. You reach a plateau, so you need to make small changes.
  • Rejoice! That’s the holy grail of fat loss. How can you tell if you’re losing fat and gaining lean body mass? Track your body fat percentage over several weeks. You may see your weight staying the same but your body fat percentage dropping.
If you don’t think that any of these reasons apply to you, you may want to discuss your concerns with a doctor. Be sure to keep a detailed log of your foods and activities so that your doctor can get a better idea of the whole picture.

What kind of diet am I following?

So, I recently started a diet suggested to me by my doctor, but she didn't really give me much detail about what the purpose is and how it works (scientifically speaking). My doctor was very ambiguous about it and assumed I just knew what I was supposed to do. What I would like to know is what I can eat, what I shouldn't eat, etc. Is this a gluten free diet? I'm limited by a budget, I am overweight and this is the first time I actually follow a strict diet. Any other suggestion are more than welcome as long as they're healthy and justified. Basically the diet consists of the following rules:
-Don't eat bread, pasta, rice or sugar
-Don't drink regular or diet soda.
-Don't eat fried foods
-Only eat fruits in the morning.
-Last meal should be no later than 6pm
-Drink ~half a gallon of water a day.

Quickest Way to Lose Weight - How Lose Weight Quickly

Recommanded Answer:
This is a simple, ordinary, healthy no-name diet. Seriously. It's how most people should eat depending on genetics and geographical location. An Eskimo couldn't be healthy eating the diet of someone who lives in a tropical area.

The only exception you might make to the general guide you were given is sprouted whole grains which digest differently than non sprouted and is ok for some who have minor gluten sensitivity. If you're supposed to be on a gluten free diet, you can check out recipes and suggestions at www.celiac.org For gluten free, try buckwheat! Awesomely yummy AND healthy! Especially buckwheat pancakes.

I would also suggest reading labels to avoid anything with the word "hydrogenated" since those are trans fats and are included an ingredient in all kinds of food products.

  • Water and bodybuilding go hand in hand. Drinking plenty of water is absolutely essential when following a bodybuilding method. This is because when exercising, they not only sweat a lot, but the muscles lose some of their water as well. You need to drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated. Since the body is about 80% water, it can become stressed quickly if the water level is not replenished. You can live without food, but you cannot live without water. In order for all the body processes to happen, water is the key ingredient for breaking down protein in to amino acids and enabling your body to make use of the nutrients from the food.

Top Five Tips to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:
Fat is added onto your body when you eat fat. Simple carbs can turn to fat only if you exceed your calories for the day. Complex carbs have fiber which carries out the fat.

You can gain a pound of fat by eating foods high in fat daily. The foods highest in fat are butter, cheese, oil, avocado, bacon, eggs, olives, beef, chips, soy, pork, chicken. Even the lean cuts have plenty of fat.

http://www.nutribuff.com/weight-loss/how-to-gain-a-pound-of-body-fat-in-one-month/

When you say high carb are you talking about donuts, pie, cake, cookies, crackers, because yes you can gain some fat with them, they have fat added. But, the good carbs have fiber which carries out the fat = grains, beans, vegetables, fruit. you need the good carbs, they are your body's natural and main fuel source.

You have to count calories if your diet is high in animal products, but if you only eat good carbs you don't have to count calories because they are super low in calories.

Your body converts good carbs to sugar to feed your brain and heart and muscles not to make you fat. You will always crave carbs of any kind if you try to eliminate them from your diet. Just eat the good carbs and you will lose weight and satisfy your hunger most effectively. Plus the good carbs help you to not crave sugar. High animal consumption causes sugar craving.

One day is easily overcome and does not all go to weight gain. Many people have six days of good diet and then one day of cheating. It helps them lose weight and stick to their diet.

  • No. One day of 'bad' eating won't ruin everything.

Meal 5:
1/2 cup fat-free plain greek yogurt w/ 1/2 apple and cinnamon
1 coffee (30 calories)

4 Simple Tips On How To Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
The oatmeal, banana, carrot, pickle, lettuce, cabbage, lemon, mint, apple, all have fiber. They carry out the fat from your body and help you to have a healthy digestion. The peanut butter, almond milk, tahini are healthy but they have fat. Fat has more calories and tends to go on the body for storage. The turkey, yogurt, chicken, feta cheese, all have saturated fat, hormones, foreign DNA, cholesterol that is not your body's primary fuel source, and goes on the body for storage for sure. But, you are counting calories it looks like and having multiple meals to keep your metabolism up.

Your diet is well planned out and if you don't mind counting calories, you have a good chance of losing the weight. However, it would be much healthier and easier to lose weight by avoiding the foods high in fat and eating only the foods high in fiber for quicker weight loss. Instead of the meats, try some no-fat, highly nutritious beans. They are lower in calories and high in protein. You only need 1-2 cups a day for protein - don't know your age and size. Beans also are your body's true fuel source and will give you energy for exercise and activity. You will have healthier digestion and better health.

Instead of the yogurt, you can get some miso paste from the health food store. It has a lot more probiotics and is fat free. You can make a soup, then when you put it in your bowl, add a spoon of the ramen seasoning tasting miso to dissolve in your soup. For calcium, you can eat more beans, greens, steamed vegetables. Use lemon/lime juice and spices for seasoning, it's no fat and tastes good with lots of vitamin C added. The beans, greens, steamed veggies won't constipate you and they have lots of fiber to carry out the fat. Plus they have magnesium, which you need in order to have good nerves and to absorb calcium.

If you need more energy, don't feel guilty about having some steamed whole grain like quinoa or millet. They are very high in fiber and protein. They are good carbs that give you energy. They get used up for energy and are not stored as fat. You can even have a potato without fattening condiments. Potatoes don't make you fat unless you are exceeding your calorie limit for the day. They are super nutritious with all the vitamins and minerals you need for good health. Plus, they are no fat and have fiber.

Fiber is your friend, fat is your enemy. But, if you are counting calories, you can do what you want. I don't know what to say on the coffee. I'm a mormon and I don't ever drink the stuff. But, I've heard it can be bad on your nerves and you won't sleep as well. Plus it's addictive. But, your choice.

Myfitnesspal has the widest selection of foods thus far and it takes no time really. I used to eat a bunch of veggies and fruit, but I didn't know I needed to eat more initially, so I didn't loose weight. Now that I use it, I loose 2-3 lbs each week for sure. I have been dieting for 3 weeks. I set myself a calorie tracker. I was doin well and was beneath my calorie intake....til I noticed something. The tracker had all my info except it was set to male. I was eating 1500 instead of 1200. Im afraid I wont be able to lose the weight I need to lose by April. :c I wanted to lose about 30 but after that is it possible?

Tips on How to Lose Weight Fast for the New Year

Oops.. Haha. No, I'm sure you can still reach your goal by April if you now start following the diet based on recommended FEMALE calorie intake :) before you started you were probably eating more than 1500 cals daily anyway (I certainly do!) so you cut back even though you were following the male version of the diet. It might even be better in the long run because you'll have cut down gradually and given your body time to adapt. It will probably help in keeping the weight off.

  • Its allright your doing fine youll.loose it
  • No don't worry it's not a good idea to go too low. Personally I think 1500 cal a day is good to lose weight. If u also pair it up with a bit of exercise u should at least lose 2lbs a week.
  • If you go to the free diet and fitness site sparkpeople.com they can calculate how many calories you should be eating to lose the weight by April. It's a really great site and has lots of dieting, fitness and health support. I've lost about 51 pounds since joining a while back. good luck =)

How Thai Food Can Help You Lose Weight

Recommanded Answer:
When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).
