Why do people that take laxatives become super skinny?

Hey guys! This question is not for me.Anyways, I'm in psychology that has to do with why people do things that are hurting them more than helping them. I've heard that the abuse of laxatives only causes the individual to lose water weight and eliminates waste. But the abuse of laxatives causes severe dehydration. I want to know if people that abuse laxatives are also bulimic or anorexic or have some other kind of problem. So lets say if I was bulimic and had the idea that taking laxatives will help me lose FAT not just weight, would I trick myself into thinking that its working? Because I know that some individuals have that delusion that they aren't harming themselves by abusing laxatives, and are losing weight and FAT in the process. Another question is there any small fat loss at all? Depending on their condition because I know some individuals that are bulimic or anorexic that take laxatives but also exercise till they collapse. Also, how much damage can abusing laxatives do to your body? Hope everything makes sense you guys! I'm not asking you to do my project for me but I just need a little insight before I pass it in to make sure I make sense. Thanks! :)

Someone who abuses laxatives in the hopes of weight loss to achieve this desired body has an eating disorder. There's a term called EDNOS, which means Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. I'm pretty sure it's every other eating disorder that doesn't qualify into anorexia or bulimia.I'm not sure if there's fat loss...the damage it can do to your body. This will sound gross & I am sorry, but think of diarrhea. Hell, when people have it they're already constantly weak for the first day. Think of that on a long-term scale. I imagine most of the damage will be from the dehydration AND the lack of absorbed nutrients. Forcing your body to remove the contents of what you ate prevents it from fully absorbing the nutrients. I believe that applies to bulimia as well.
