Should you slim down first before gaining muscle?

Okay if you want to get thin and muscular should you lose the (fat) weight first then gain back weight as muscle. I'm just thinking that if you lost the weight after getting a lot of muscle mass you would lose the muscle mass that you worked so hard for. I'm 5'7" and 120 right now but I'm skinny fat. Thanks.

i would work on muscle first because once you lose the fat your muscles will start to show, so if you have little muscle mass to start with you'll be really puny with your tiny little muscles showing :)

  • You are only 120 pounds at 5"7 so you can not have that much fat. Just eat a healthy diet and workout doing both cardio and some weight resistance, you build your muscles while your fat weight goes down. That way you improve your body appearance and get healthier and improve your fitness. If you only slim down and just reduce your fat weight first, you looks like you are skin and bones.
