Why is it so difficult for overweight people to loose the weight and get healthy?

I feel likes its almost comparable to a drug addict. They cant stop even though they know its hurting them. Why is it that so many obese and overweight people have such difficulty changing their lifestyle? I can understand the difficulties that come with exercising being overweight, but at least start out by eating 6 balanced meals a day and only drinking water. I've actually had serious conversations with overweight people and allot say they dont care and they expect to die from it. Some say they are not ready to take the leap. I want to know what is behind this psychologically.

How to Reduce Body Fat Without Losing Weight

Recommended Answer:

Because they are either stupid or lazy.I say lazy because most fatties won't do their daily exercise. They probably refuse to only drink water and often drink lots of soda. They don't care to eat healthy and probably eat fast foods or at home make unhealthy meals. They simply don't have enough self respect and are lazy.I say stupid because often times fat people are not smart enough to understand nutrition so they will do stuff such as not eating a large breakfast or even worse completely skipping breakfast. They may drink diet soda thinking it will help them lose weight. They may have dinner after 7:00pm and some fatties actually eat a meal right before going to sleep. It is a combination of stupidity and laziness that causes someone to be fat.

  • Genes usually are behind everybody's body weight. I find it interesting that you are so interested in people's weight. I imagine that you--as well as all of us--have some issues that we'd like to change in ourselves.
  • You can expect to die young for about ANY addiction. Most crack addicts aren't willing to give it up. My old man was an alkie and THAT killed him. He'd been sentenced by a judge to go to Al Anon, and he went, but he never gave it up.Water is an obvious suggestion, but MOST Americans wouldn't know that you meant 6 SMALL meals, and no snacks. Are you studying psychology, so you want to know for a paper? The library has MANY books on this.Genes have LITTLE to do with weight. Weight is acquired, not inborn. It's not even how MUCH you eat that makes you fat, but WHAT you eat.
  • It's hard to lose weight when you've spent half your life letting the fat accumulate. We live in a society in which food and comfort are fairly easy to obtain and that lifestyle sucks a lot of people in - and it's hard to amend your life so you're eating healthier and exercising.Putting weight on requires only sloth (the willingness to do little or no exercise) and gluttony (the willingness to overeat foods that taste good). Getting weight off requires finding sources of beneficial foods, eating smaller portions than your body is telling you it needs, regular exercise, and perseverance.
  • I'd say that it's strength of will. Fat people who wants to lose weight have to realize that they must get out of their comfort zone!
