What should I do to stop my parents commenting on my weight?

First off, I am 5"2/5"3 ish and I weigh 50kg. I am going on 17. I do not consider myself skinny, but I don't think I am fat either. When I wear leggings, shorts or skinny jeans, my parents will always tell me how bad they look on me, and how ugly my legs are and how I should wear flare jeans because it'd suit people with legs like mine. I refuse flare jeans.Whenever my mum sees me eating anything, even fruit she'll make comments and say things like "why are you still eating even when you are already so big? Do you want to get fatter?" When we go out into shops where there are full body mirrors, she'll point them out to me and say things like "look how fat you are" and "see how big your thighs are". It makes me feel really gross about myself. I don't like to look in mirrors anymore. She always talks about how unhealthily I eat. I hardly eat any chocolate or go out to eat fast food. Mostly at home, I just eat fruits for lunch and granola bars. My sugar intake is minimal.I don't understand. I am a size 8, UK. I have not gained or lost any weight. When I confronted them about it, they just said that they say these things because they care. But I can't help but feel that what they are saying is very spiteful. How can I make them stop saying this. I would understand if it was just telling me once, but they do it day after day, like reminding me that I am not supermodel skinny. They don't give me any suggestions on how I can lose weight, just that I am fat. What can I do???

Shame on her....she is your Mother, she is supposed to support and help you, not Mock and Hurt your feelings. If you want a TRUE answer, it's time to take Her to the doctor with you. If he says you are fine, then quite frankly she has nothing more to say about it. End of story. A size 8 is wonderful. There is nothing wrong with it. She is just leading you on a journey to an eating disorder, would she rather you be a science room skeleton?

Other Answers:

  • Don't do anything. Just ignore them because according to your bmi your the perfect weight. 20.14 is your BMI. If you really want to tell them something. Tell them to hush and that you're not fat or overweight and that they need to pick on someone their age.
  • Honestly most people I know who are 5'2 or 5'3 are much heavier than you! I mean everyone is different so I don't know what you look like, but it doesn't sound like you are fat. Maybe I would tell another family member or a relative, like an aunt or uncle or cousin, if you have, or a good friend of your mother you can trust, and tell them to talk to your parents. Or invite friends over since I am pretty sure that you are smaller than some or most of them..well I don't know your fiends but it just sounds like you a re thin already
