How to Lose Weight When You Are Elderly

Recommended Answer:

I went on a water fast for about 48 hours. I am very skinny already. I did it to heal my body. Healing benefits from fasting are supposed to be substantially evident. It will not be easy and is potentially hazardous. Expect mood swings, fatigue, headache is common if your are involved in physical activity while fasting or after breaking a fast. Your body stores nutrients in your liver and fat cells since birth. So also consider your age when contemplating a fast. Your body may not be well developed to successfully handle a fast. Go with a juice fast, to start off. A natural juice extractor is the only way. Fasting also takes preparation. Practicing for fasts is common. Also a healthy diet and breaking the fast with health foods is very important. The first 24 hours is supposed to be the most difficult. After that the cravings for food subside. Your body my go into ketosis, Where nutrients from your liver are used before breaking down of fat cells, and then vital muscle tissue, such as heart tissue. Most would say consult a physician, I say proceed with caution and continue to research. It can be helpful and a somewhat enlightening experience. Also look up intermittent fasting.

Continuing aches in a certain area of the body usually means elimination of fatty tissue is going on in that area, which is not harmful. Move slowly. (A word of caution: these conditions may be symptoms of other problems requiring medical attention).Physical EffectMinor fasting discomfortSuggested ReliefTake one teaspoon of psyllium seed powder morning and evening. Mixed in lukewarm water, it becomes like Jell-O. This powder will hasten the elimination of toxins from your colon and help to prevent headaches and dizziness for most healthy people. Alfalfa tablets can help control bad breath and cleanse the system. Two tablets at a time can be taken several times a day.
  • If you don't drink water then you will die after a few days. Any weight loss you make through water deprivation will be gained back as soon as you hydrate yourself. Don't do it. Seriously. Diet and exercise are the only way to lose weight. Eat less calories than you burn is the only solution.
  • Hmm lets see, feeling crappy, constantly tired, having to pee every 10 seconds, perpetually hungry, need I say more? I'm not trying to be mean, but not eating is very unhealthy. Your not losing fat at all, your losing valuable muscle. Eat nutritious foods and exercise, fad diets don't work.
  • Don't consume only water. Try water and fresh, natural foods like fruits, veggies, and nuts. Organic. The water diet is really hard and leaves you starving and having to pee every 5 seconds. I recommend water + natural foods. Good luck.
  • Don't do it. It will slow down your metabolism tremendously. It is unhealthy and you will suffer the effects forever. How do I know? When I was 18, I did it for two weeks. You need to be patient and lose the weight the right way.
