weight loss. what am i doin wrong?

i weigh 342. i go to the gym regularly. i spend 30 min on the elliptical or treadmill then a hour weight training. my diet consists of 1/4 cup mixed nuts for breakfast. 9am protein shake. 1pm protein shake. supper is a lean meat(baked chicken or fish or pork chop) with some kinda veggie. my carbs i keep under 100 grams a day. protein i take in about 200g a day. fat is normally bout 40g a day. it is not like i am seeing enough muscle growth to say the old cliche muscle weighs more than fat. i am still wearing the same pants size. it has been about 3 months- no change in weight. i know the protein is high but trying to lose as little mass as i can.1/4 cup mixed nuts 170 calories. protein shakes are 170 each. then whatever 1/2 pound of chicken and cup of mixed veggies. so i would guess less than 2000 calories a day which is way under the calorie intake that it supposedly takes for me to stay the same weight

How to Lose Weight After Pregnancy

Recommended Answer:

you should try consuming more fruits and veggies instead of, or with meat and protein, they help you burn more fat I believe. And if you are desperate to lose it quick try juicing, many people I know lost a lot easily (if you don't mind the taste that is) and felt soo much more healthy it was amazing. You should watch the fat sick and nearly dead documentary if interested, it opened my eyes to many things

Other Answers:

  • how many calories are you eating a day?
  • For weight loss, dieting is more effective than exercise. Reducing your intake of junk sugar will help as in items 22 and 106 in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm The natural sugars in fruits are OK as they are metabolised to glucose slowly due to their high fiber content. Fruits are low in calories and are not fattening. Most fruits are metabolism boosting foods and most vegetables as well and that helps for weight loss.
