Is there a way to control where you lose fat in your body?

Recently, I've put on a bit of weight. Most of the weight has gone to my breasts which I am kind of happy about as it makes me look a little better proportioned. However I want to work out and keep my stomach flat and tone my body up. In the past, when I've lost weight, my chest is always the first thing to go. I was curious if it was physiologically possible to control where you lose weight through diet or exercise or short of getting lipo am I doomed to lose it in my chest again? If it helps...I'm 5'8 and 146 lbs I am mainly looking to stay in shape and tone up. Not necessarily lose weight.

How to Run to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

Everyone has a problem spot. It can be around the stomach, thighs, arms or chest. No matter where your trouble spot is, the solution is exactly the same. You need to eat less and exercise more. The reason why there's only one solution for all of these problems is because it's impossible to tell your body where to burn the excess fat from. When you eat too many calories, your body stores the excess energy as fat in different areas around the body. To lose this fat, you need to create a calorie deficit (eat less than you burn) to force your body to start burning that fat for energy. There is absolutely no way to control where your body goes to find this extra fat. A tool such as the calorie calculator - http://calorieneedscalculator.com will help you figure out how many calories you need each day.The larger your calorie deficit (a bigger calorie deficit means a bigger difference between what you eat and what you burn) the faster your body will burn excess fat and the quicker your body fat percentage will start to decrease. You can increase your calorie deficit by cutting your daily intake and exercising more. Sit ups will do nothing to target the fat around your abs just like squats will do nothing to target the fat around your thighs.Reduce Body Fat Guide - http://straighthealth.com/pages/guides/reducebodyfat.html

  • No you can't target fat. I'd suggest doing some cardio to tone up slightly, then do some chest exercises, to 'perk them up'. It'll give the impression of bigger breasts.
