How to eat more calories per day?

I am 14 weeks pregnant and my ob/gyn wants me to eat around 2300 calories per day. The problem is, no matter how much I eat (right now I have 6-8 small meals a day), I have never been able to make it past 1500 calories a day unless I eat a bunch of junk food and fast food. I don't want to do this because it will not be good for the baby, but the healthy things I eat, like fruits, veggies, and whole grains don't have enough calories! What do I do?

Well, fruits are not a bad idea. Bananas for example have lots of carbs, and are therefore a good source of calories. Anyway, i would recommend you eating high carb cause it is the easiest way to reach your calories goal. When i ate high carb i used to est around 3500 kcal per day, now im on low carb diet and i only eat bout 2000 kcal without being more hungry.. Good carb sources are: oats, pasta, bananas. To est good fats will also help you to reach your goals because fat has the highest amount of calories per gram. Those fats are for example contained in all sorts of nuts or fish.
