How long did it take you to lose your baby weight after your first child?

I was just wondering how long it took everyone? I'm 30 weeks and wondering how long it's gonna take me to be back in my size clothes that I was in before I got pregnant. Thanks so much! :)

How to Lose Weight After Pregnancy

Recommended Answer:

i breast fed for about a month still had baby weight...It took about 3-4 months before my baby weight and baby fat went away. (: i went from 145 to 130to 120 to 118 all the way back to my normal weight. It will probably take you a couple months before going back to normal.. dont be like me an throw away your favorite jeans just cause you dont fit in them right away. cause eventually YOU will. Good luck and CONGRATS(:

Other Answers:

  • 6-12 months, if you breastfeed.
  • I'm "the cow" who walked out of the maternity hospital wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans. I then lost more weight while breastfeedingAll I can say is its taken 9 months to put the weight on so give yourself time to loose it! There is no rush and the important thing is to be looking after your baby and yourself firstEat healthy, do gentle exercise like walking with baby in pram and it'll come off when it comes off
  • Years. I'm not one of those lucky btches who lost all the weight and more during two weeks of breastfeeding. I couldn't remove a single pound while I was nursing. I'm not alone. My youngest is nearly five and I nearly had this wild hormone shift. My pre-pregnancy figure is coming back slowly. Granted, I stopped trying to lose weight after busting my butt four years ago only to end up exhausted, starving and still fat. Still. It took me years. I hope it doesn't take you that long, but if it does, you're not alone.
  • With my first it was rlatively quickly, about 7 months. But I believe that breastfeeding was what saved me. I did no excersize and followed no diet until my eldest was 5 months old. I just did a bit of walking and a few sit ups in the morning for those final two months to get rid of the last 5 killograms, and I did not really change my diet all that much, I might have avoided sweet things and kept away from fizzy and sugary drinks, but other than that I did nothing out of the ordinary. I had picked up 20 killograms with my first pregancy! But the kilos just melted off me. And it's not like I'm naturally thin, or anything, I've always had to watch my weight. Breast feeding turned out to be the most effective weight loss program I could have taken! But with my second, he is now 3 months old, I'm already seeing that I'm going to have to diet and join a gym. :-(
  • I ate responsibly while pregnant and didn't put on much weight at all. I didn't eat junk and crap (only occasionally) and made sure I had a healthy diet as much as possible. Of course I didn't starve myself, I did eat enough not to be hungry, but I snacked on carrots instead of potato chips and my desserts were fruits instead of chocolate...And then I breastfed and I went down one size under my original size within a month after giving birth and stayed that way.So I think it all depends on how you eat now and how you eat after the baby is born.Edit: I didn't start excercising (apart from walking with my baby in the park - if you could call this excercising really...) till my baby was 9 months old as I was worried if it would reduce my milk supply. I just only ate healthy (and I didn't starve myself at all, I did eat all the time when I was hungry) And I was 37 when I gave birth.
  • I had lost all of it by my 6 week check up.
